A thief in Guinea who goes by the name, Boubacar Diallo congratulated the police for catching him in a video that is going viral on social media in the country.


Diallo, a student at a technical college in Mamou, and his accomplice freely admitted having stolen 50m Guinean francs ($5,600; £4,160) from a phone shop in the northwestern city.


In front of the cameras, Diallo called for more resources to be given to the police. In his words, 'the national police head office should be congratulated. I also want to say that the police needs equipment because it has well-trained officers'.


Then, he added that he never imagined that he would be caught so quickly and said he regretted his crime.

Omokri said this in reaction to Mohammed’s allegation that people in opposition parties were sponsoring the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The former presidential aide urged the minister to face his duty by giving occasional briefings to Nigerians, and not propaganda.

In a statement on Tuesday, Omokri said Mohammed should stop blaming Jonathan for the unfulfilled promises of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said: “If the government in which Lai Mohammed serves, knows which opposition members are sponsoring IPOB, then they should identify them, arrest them and then prosecute them.

“Ever since Lai Mohammed made his ill advised statement, a principal member of the All Progressive Congress government and the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, has come out to say that the actions in the Southeast are troubling and some of it are unconstitutional. Is he also sponsoring IPOB too?

“It is our suspicion that Lai Mohammed is talking from history seeing as he criticised the Jonathan government for banning Boko Haram in a statement he released on June 10, 2013, even though the Jonathan government had gone through due process before proscribing that murderous sect.

“Perhaps Lai Mohammed thinks everybody is like him and those he represents. Let me say again to Lai Mohammed, the time for propaganda is gone. The time for blaming Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for all the unfulfilled promises of the APC government is over. Nigerians are no longer buying it.”

Omokri said the Buhari administration has spent the last two years “blaming”, instead of “building”.

“Rome may not have been built in a day, but from day one you could see evidence of builders building up Rome. But what have we seen in the last two and a half years of the Muhammadu Buhari administration? We see a government that from day one has been blaming instead of building,” he said.

“Finally, I seize this opportunity to remind Lai Mohammed that under the Jonathan administration the ministry of information had annual ministerial briefing where the media and civil society groups interrogated cabinet ministers on the activities of their departments.

“100 days briefing was given to Nigerians on the government’s vision and one year briefings was given to the nation on government activities. An elaborate mid-term briefing was also given by that government to the country on the achievements of the administration.

“Lai Mohammed should think about these as information minister and should know that he is minister for information not minister for propaganda.”

Ever since President Buhari won the 2015 Presidential elections he was destined to win having labored in 2003, 2007, 2011 and then 2015 a very vast preponderance of South South and South East indigenes have descended on the President, pouring invectives, calling him names, abusing his person and his exalted office, preaching hate, and ethnic divisions. I have followed this dangerous trend over a year now, and it is not abetting. It is growing like wild fire everyday. In recent times the South-South people whose son lost the election have moved on except the criminal avengers who are fighting for their pockets only and destroying their environment.

I have seen spirited and genuine efforts being made by the leaders of South-South to bring peace to the Niger Delta, and I heartily commend them for this. It is in their own interest. But in the South East, our people have refused to move on. In the diaspora, in Nigeria, in schools, in the markets, on the streets, in Churches, in Town Meetings etc Igbo have refused to move on. Every move the President makes to rebuild and reposition the country is abused, castigated and ethnic meaning read into it. The dangerous trend has become so embarrassing that one is compelled to speak out. While leaders of South-South have made interventions to make way for harmony and peaceful co-existence, Igbo leaders have maintained a deafening silence but this silence is no longer golden. Ethnic bigotry and hate speeches our people both at home and abroad dish out everyday endanger our people living in all parts of Nigeria. President Buhari belongs to a section of Nigeria and must not run away with the thinking that his people will be happy and clap for us when we malign and abuse one of their own.

No ethnic group in Nigeria moves and settles in any part of the country like the Igbo. They settle and do business in almost every part of the country, and when we throw stones to other Nigerians, we endanger their lives and their businesses. The worst sets of Igbo guilty of this dangerous trend are those living outside the country. While some of them are engaged in meaningful employment, many of them are unemployed. They have become economic refugees and cultural savages. They have formed an association of hate preachers and wailing bigots. They have through actions and deeds created millions of enemies for Ndigbo in Nigeria while they waste their precious gift of time abroad doing nothing.

Last week the Vice of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo was in Afe Babalola University Ekiti State as Guest Speaker during the University’s Convocation ceremony. In the cause of his speech, he told his capacity audience the Niger Delta Avengers are not freedom fighters but those fighting for their pockets only. I saw the story on facebook and other sites on the internet. The one on Facebook caught my attention because of nearly 400 reactions as at the time I read it. I took mental note of the reactions and the names attached to it. 95% are Igbo names and they abused and called the Vice President unprintable names for speaking the truth. This is a shame. Ignorance should not be a virtue. Ignorance is a disease. Foolishness is a tragedy. This is ignorance stupid. This is mental darkness. A roaring lion kills no game. It is only a river that wants to get dried up that forgets its source. A Chinese proverb tells me that “He who blames others has a long way to go on his journey. He who blames himself is half way there. He who blames no one has arrived.”

Now, it is time for the Igbo to move on and join other Nigerians to begin the process of rebuilding Nigeria. I want Igbo Governors, elected Senators, elder statesmen, House of Reps Members, House of Assembly members, political leaders, traditional rulers, Igbo intellectuals, professionals, market leaders, town union leaders, village heads, etc. to rise up to defend the integrity and honor of Igbo race. Are these ignorant ones who preach hate speaking for us? Are they representing us? Are they our brightest and bests? Are those asking for Biafra and using it as business venture speaking for all of us? Have we taken a look at the situation in South Sudan today? Shall we continue to sleep pretending that all is well? Can we be honest enough to see the real danger ahead? For how long will our leaders continue to be silent on these weighty issues? Can elders continue to sleep while the kids wear snakes as necklaces? Can the young teach tradition to the old? Who will bell the cat in Igboland? Who will call the ignorant kids to order?

Did the Yoruba go to war when June 12 1993 Presidential Election won by their illustrious son Chief MKO Abiola was annulled on June 23rd 1993 on a sheet of paper by IBB? Did Yoruba go to war when Abiola’s wife Alhaja Kudirat Abiola was murdered in Lagos in the morning of Jun 4 1996? Did Yoruba go to war when the winner of that historic election was poisoned on July 7 1998? Did Yoruba go to war when those who killed Abiola imposed Obasanjo on them as President in 1999? Did Yoruba accept Chief Ernest Shonekan when IBB made him to head the interim government in 1993? Yoruba rejected OBJ and Shonekan because this unique race has never been slaves to public office and yet they have remained number one in Nigeria in almost everything. This is wisdom and strategic thinking at work.

Those of us who have lived in Yoruba land for years should not only learn how to wear Aso Ebi, eat Ewedu soup or dance Owambe, music.

We must have also learned other unique things from them like sharing property to both male and female children, religious tolerance, ethnic tolerance, transferring legacies from generation to generation. Do you know that APC National Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s wife is a Christian? Do you know that former Governor Fashola’s wife is a Christian? We can learn a lot from Yoruba. Yoruba too can learn from Igbo in areas of thinking home, business enterprise, self-help, apprenticeship, etc.

A Yoruba woman, a Pastor Mrs. Eunice Olawale Elisha of the Redeemed Christian Church of God old NEPA Road Phase 4 Kubwa, Abuja was killed by unknown persons on Saturday morning of July 9, 2016, while preaching the gospel around 5.30am. I have followed the reactions on the internet and Yoruba do not behave like the Igbo. They have been speaking but not preaching hate. They have called for the culprits to be fished out, prosecuted and punished. If Mrs. Eunice Elisha had been an Igbo hell would have been let loose. There would have been abuses and abuses. But Yoruba are not Igbo. This is civilization. This is strategic thinking. I hope our people can learn from this. Civility is not a sign of weakness. He who fights and run away lives to fight another day.

To have ears is not to listen, to listen is not to hear, to hear is not to understand, to understand is not to put to practice. I know that writing this may not get me many friends among the Igbo, but it always gets me the right ones.

Nnewi – The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and its leadership worldwide under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has described as illegal and unconstitutional the alleged declaration by the Nigerian Army that it is a terrorist group. Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu IPOB in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful said the Nigerian Army lack the constitutional power to declare any group as a terrorist group, saying that it will ignore the declaration by the Army and any other group and continue its agitation for Biafra restoration.

We in IPOB condemn the illegal declaration made by Nigerian army labelling the peaceful freedom fighting organization as IPOB as a terrorist organization. We found the statement made by Nigerian army a laughable and caricature the Nigerian Army is making of itself, we will continue doing what we are doing which is peaceful agitation for Biafra freedom. “Whatever be the case Nigerian Army has no right or power to labelling IPOB a terrorist group whiles the case still in the court. It is the duty of Nigerian court to decide the case between the Nigerian government and IPOB under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“We urge the Nigerian government and her security operatives to stop their barbaric and unprovoked attacks to unarmed and innocent civilians who have not been involved in any act of crime or violence since the inception of this struggle for Biafra independence championed by IPOB. “It’s very appalling that south East governors will always stoop so low to allow our general enemies to continue to tele-guide them in their meeting at Enugu in collaborating with security operatives to eliminate their people whom they suppose to protect because they want re election of political office in 2019.

“In any case we do not even regard the South East governors, as far as Biafra struggle is concerned we do not regard, and do not even know that South East Governor exist, they are not in control of the states they are Governors” According to IPOB “it is imperative to remind Nigerians that we are not in doubt that Nigerian government and her security operatives especially the Nigerian army cannot win this battle and don’t have the temerity to label IPOB under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu a terrorist group, while the case between the Nigerian government and IPOB is still in the Federal High Court Abuja.”

“It is very clear to all sundry, that this action of the Nigerian Army which started killing innocent Biafran populations in the name of pursuing criminals in every part of Biafra land, and at the same time labelling IPOB as a terrorist group is an indicative the completion of the extermination of Igbo agendas set during the time Usman Dan Fodio. We are not surprise that the present killings and intimidations in South East particularly in Umuahia, Aba and Port Harcourt has the backing of the present caliphate in Sokoto, which has deemed it necessary to follow the steps laid down by their forefathers to wipe out Biafrans and to pave way for the islamization of South east.

“The Fulani herdsmen has been involved in killing and ravaging of South East, destroying farm crops without any record of arrest or detention of any of them since the inauguration of this present government Muhammadu Buhari, and he has always kept silent on their activities, and the solders always assist them whenever they are on mission to kill Christians, they have not be declared a terrorist group of people, what a government.

“Buhari and his soldiers cannot win this war against IPOB because it is on record in every part of Biafra land and the world over that since the inception the IPOB activities, nobody will say he has been harassed intimidated or shot by IPOB, nobody will ever come out to prove he has seen any of our member with arms like the herdsmen are clearly seen with AK 47 riffle. “Nobody in Biafra land or in the Diaspora including foreign citizens and those strangers living in any part of Biafra land, will ever say IPOB carry arms, our weapon peaceful protest which we have suspended for some time now, yet we are passing our message to the people while Nigerian Government continue to be jittery.

“IPOB under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wins more converts every day in spite of the attacks, killings, intimidation on the innocent civilians and peaceful members of IPOB, we cannot accept the statement credited to Nigeria Army of labelling us a terrorist group, Nigerian Army is the real terrorist group. “We urge Nigerian government and its Army to wait till October 17 October 2017 when the case will come up, if they have a superior arguments to challenge our leader Mazi Kanu and IPOB members worldwide they should come to the competent court of jurisdiction to table their case not parading themselves, not us as a terrorist group. “The only constituted authority that can declare IPOB a terrorist group is a competent court of jurisdiction in Nigeria, not the Nigerian Army and South East Governors, they are only making mockery of their selves.”

Stupid superstition

The Umuahia Youth Movement has given Okezie Ikpeazu, governor of Abia state, 24 hours to dethrone Israel Kanu, ruler of Isiama Afaraukwu in Umuahia.

The traditional ruler is the father of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In a letter addressed to Ikpeazu and copied to President Muhammadu Buhari, the group said failure to dethrone the traditional ruler would make them take the law into their own hands.

The youth blamed the current security situation and shutdown of economic activities in the state on Kanu who “could not call his son to order”.

Details of the letter were disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by Ifeanyi Okwudili, the group’s president.

The letter read: “With tears and sorrow, the Umuahia Youth Movement respectfully write to request the dethronement of Nnamdi Kanu’s father as a traditional ruler of our clan.

“It beats our imagination that a man who calls himself a royal father and an elder could not call his son to order but rather encourage him in his madness that have plunged Umuahia city to a great crisis today.

“Sir, recall that Umuahia have been the most peaceful capital city in Nigeria to live and do business but just because of one man, we are today facing the wrath of the federal government of Nigeria.

“Our shops, markets, schools, churches and all banks have been shut down. For the past three days we have been indoors for fear of been attacked by the military just because of one man whose father is our traditional ruler.

“Based on the above, we hereby request the he be dethroned within 24 hours or we will take the laws into our hands and dethrone him and even strip him unclad and raze his house.

“We appeal to every well meaning Nigerian as well to prevail on governor Ikpeazu to as a matter of urgency dethrone Nnamdi Kanu’s father.”

The group also demanded the continuation of the military exercise (Operation Python Dance) “as any attempt to withdraw will make the IPOB criminals rob our shops and houses”.

“Sir, we assure you that we remain one Nigeria and will join hands with you to make our country Nigeria and state Abia the best among all the countries of the world,” they added.
