Gunmen this morning at about 8am, stormed Kolo Police Station in Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa State, killing one police officer and injuring three others. Police officers who escaped unhurt, claim the attack might have been carried out by suspected oil thieves. The sad incident comes just one week after suspected militants ambushed and killed four soldiers at Letugbene community in Southern Ijaw local government area of the state.

Controversial Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has once again waded into the current agitation for a republic of Biafra spearheaded by the Indigenous People of Biafra led by Nnamdi Kanu.

Addressing a gathering of Igbos in East London, the controversial cleric said that Igbos should be the last people seeking to leave Nigeria. He said: “No Hausa person owns property in Igboland. No Yoruba person owns property in Igboland. But 60% of businesses in northern Nigeria are owned by Igbos. 40% of businesses in western Nigeria are owned by Igbos.”

Mbaka implied that Igbos had the most to lose by the breakup of the country. He claimed to know about how much Igbos owned across Nigeria because he was regularly being invited to say blessings at the opening of new businesses by Igbos, especially in northern Nigeria. He said: “Go to Sabon Gari in Kano and see what Igbos own there”. He added that Igbos could complain that they were not enough of them in government, but under former president Goodluck Jonathan, an Igbo was finance minister, Central Bank governor, and so on.

He went on to suggest that those Igbos that have been seduced into agitating for Biafra by Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of separatist group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are “the children of the poor”, who in his view, are not thinking properly about the implications of secession. Mbaka said those people were being deceived by Kanu.

Mbaka then moved on to what could happen in an independent Biafra if it ever came to fruition. He said: “If you think we have trouble in Nigeria now, we will see trouble in Biafra. No Anambra man would let an Enugu man be president, no Imo man would let an Abakaliki man be president”.

He was very convinced that fault lines between different Igbo communities would come to the fore if Biafra ever became reality.

When challenged on talking about politics, Mbaka responded that “politics is part of life” and “I read political science and political philosophy”. He added that decisions made by politics affect everyone.

Jalandhar police, India have arrested a Nigerian national with heroin worth Rs 1.35 crore from the Urban Estate area.

The accused simply identified as Ifeanyi, had come to India on a tourist visa later stayed back and got involved in the drug peddling business.

According to the police, the accused was part of a major network running from Delhi that has spread its branches to various states, including Punjab.

CIA in-charge Inspector Ajayveer said that since the international peddlers destroyed their original documents, including passport, it becomes difficult for the police to know their real identity.

Ifeanyi was sent to remand and the police is expected to dig out more details about the network being operated here by Ifeani and his associates.

Ajayvir said with the sealing of the international border with Pakistan, the drug peddlers are now following the reverse route that runs from Delhi to Punjab. 5 held with 150 boxes of ‘palti’ liquor.

According to the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Chris Ezike, the Catholic priest, Reverend Father Cyriacus Onunkwo’s lifeless body has been found in a bush in Omuma Village in Orlu East Local Government Area.

He was reportedly murdered by unknown gunmen 24 hours after he was snatched from his vehicle in Orlu town in Orlu Local Government Area on Friday morning by gunmen, Imo state police reports.

Senator Shehu Sani has advised President Buhari to fumigate and disinfect his cabinet so that he can get rid of "hyenas, jackals and wolves" that have personal interests instead of the success of his administration. Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna state yesterday, Sani said it is time for president Buhari to reset his cabinet by firing those that need to be fired and reshuffle or reassign those that are underperforming.

"There are hyenas, jackals and wolves within the cycle of the presidency that have personal interests other than that of Mr. President. One thing the President needs to do which is very important is for him to take a proactive stand in order to reset his presidency by looking at his cabinet in totality. Those who have failed should be shown the way out and those who have not been able to perform satisfactorily should be replaced or reshuffled. But it is time for Mr. President to throw some people out of his cabinet and change the portfolio of some of them so they can help him to perform better. There is mid-term fatigue that exists and the only way out is to bring in capable hands. This is a message I’m sending to Mr. President to fumigate and disinfect the presidency in the general interest of his own government and also the country as a whole" Sani said

In a series of post he made on Facebook, The pastor identified as Arinze Okoli Mmaduabuchi noted that he may be wrong, but then, God over everything.

There is this trending story in South Africa about how a married man died in the cupboard of his mistress, who is actually also a married woman.

The husband of the woman, goes to work every Sunday, and then comes back during the weekend, while his wife invites home a man, with whom she has sex with.

So the old lady calls me to gossip about her neighbors. Apparently she was cheating on her husband who works here in Johannesburg. One of the neighbors alerted the husband.
He usually goes back to work on Sunday, he asked for leave so he can burst his wife. On Sunday evening, he pretends to go to work but comes back so he can catch them in action.
He gets home, knocks on the door and the wife quickly hides the man in a kist (A storage for old clothes) and locks it so the hubby can’t open it. The husband summons the wife to come with him to visit his mother. She refuses but the guy won’t take no for an answer. Eventually she agrees. They pack and leave. (meanwhile the man is still locked).
3 days later they get a call from the cops telling them that there is a foul smell in the house. When they get there. There are worms all-over the place, it leads to the kist (the storage where the man was locked).
When they opened it, it was the husband of a near-by neighbor. He was buried today.
