Politics / Why God Allowed Recession In Nigeria – APC National Chairman by Ogashub(m): 8:45am On Jul 06, 2017
The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has justified the reason why Nigeria plunged into recession.

The National Chairman of the ruling party who described the economic recession as the handiwork of God noted that it was aimed at boosting the Nigerian agricultural sector.

John Odigie-Oyegun noted that the economic state of the country forced government at all levels to invest in Agriculture noting that the Nigeria will emerge from economic recession to become one of the greatest exporters of farm produce.

Speaking at the 61st Annual General Meeting of ADAN at the University of Benin, Benin City, the APC National Chairman said: “It is no longer a matter of choice that we must divert to agriculture.

“Agriculture is about 70% of our growth and if we can generate even a 3% growth, which marches the rate of our population growth, then you would have stabilized the whole vision.

“But if you can make it 4%, 5%, you would have changed the living standard of the majority of Nigerians. Agriculture is a big business that we can profit from and we thank God for bringing us to this state. Today, agriculture has become the Cinderella and we are committed to making it an alternative source of income.”

Crime / Policewoman who Aided ‘kidnapper’ Evans Escape Justice In 2006 Finally Arrested by Ogashub(m): 8:25am On Jul 06, 2017
The woman accused of aiding suspected kidnap kingpin Chukwudumeje George Onwuamadike (alias Evans) to escape justice in 2006 is still in the police.

the woman, simply identified as Tina, is now a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). She was unmasked by a Special Investigation Panel (SIP) constituted by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris to probe Evans’ 2006 arrest, transfer from Lagos State to Imo State and eventual release.

After the suspect’s arrest last month, a senior police officer told reporters that his team apprehended Evans in 2006 after a bank robbery.

The officer had claimed that Evans and his gang members had a gun duel at the National Theatre in Surulere, Lagos Mainland after a disagreement in sharing their loot, adding that the kingpin was shot and left to die.

According to the officer, Tina, who was a Superintendent of Police (SP) at the time, mounted pressure on them to release Evans and two of his members but when her request was not met, she went through Imo State Command, where a signal was sent for the transfer of the suspects.

As a result of the revelations, IGP Idris constituted a panel to investigate the 2006 arrest, transfer and eventual release of Evans and his members.

The panel was to identify all officers who had a hand in the matter, whether serving or retired.

According to a source, the panel has made “reasonable progress” in its investigation because almost all the officers that took part in the “rape of justice” have been identified.

He said the police might soon release statement on the issue.

The source said: “I can tell you that Tina is not the woman’s real name but I won’t give you her name. I can also tell you she’s now a CSP and still in service. So many officers took part in that 2006/2007 release of Evans and they are being investigated. The panel has made progress and almost all of them have been identified. An official statement might be release by the authorities soon.”

Politics / EFCC Is Blackmailing Governors With Paris Club Refunds” Fayose by Ogashub(m): 6:29am On Jul 06, 2017
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has decried the incessant harassment and malignment of serving governors in the country, especially the Chairman the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) and Governor of Zamfara State, Abudulazeez Yari by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Acting Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Magu, saying; “the EFCC is obviously blackmailing State Governors on the Paris Club refunds.”

Governor Fayose, who said that Governor Yari, as the leader of all the State Governors in Nigeria deserved some level of respect from Magu and his gangs in the EFCC, added that “Rushing to court to seek forfeiture of properties on which no one had been convicted and maligning the NGF chairman is to say the least, irresponsible.”
In a release issued in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor described the onslaught on Governor Yari as a direct attack on all the governors of the 36 States of Nigeria, calling on all the governors to rise and protect the NGF.”
He pointed out that the Paris Club refunds was occasioned by the Federal Government’s illegal conversion of funds belonging to the States and Local Governments, adding that it was absurd that the Federal Government, which illegally used money belonging to the States and Local Governments for its own purpose was the one giving conditions as to how the refund must be spent.
“It is like a man stealing your money and now coming back to give you conditions to refund the money he stole and also telling you how to spend the money,” he said.
The governor said it was the height of rascality for the EFCC to keep feeding the public with falsehood and maligning the hard-earned integrity of Nigerians, especially former and serving governors.
“This persistent media trial is the reason EFCC has lost most of the high-profile corruption cases at the law courts.
“For instance, EFCC was the one that investigated and it was the one that went to court to file ex-parte application, seeking interim forfeiture of N500m and $500,000 it claimed was looted from the Paris Club refunds. No defence from any of the accused.
“Yet, Governor Yari is already being presented to the public as a thief by the EFCC. This irresponsibility must stop because these attacks on the person of NGF chairman by Magu and by extension the entire governors in Nigeria must stop,” he said.

Crime / Every Nigerian Should Be Treated Like Evans, Nigerian Lawyer Says by Ogashub(m): 9:54pm On Jul 05, 2017
Human Rights lawyer, Mike Ozekhome has explained why every Nigerian could be placed in the category as suspected kidnapper, Chukwudubem Owuamadike, a.k.a Evans. Evans was arrested in his home in Lagos over two weeks ago and has allegedly made several confessions to the Nigerian media. Ozekhome said Nigerians know who these kidnappers are and where they keep their victims but would not speak for one reason or the other. “We are all Evans, one way or another. Simply summarised, Evans had viciously kidnapped targeted and profiled wealthy members of the society, especially on the FESTAC, ASPAMDA axis. “He would manacle and shackle them, hands and feet, in his inhuman detention dungeons spread across Lagos and some other states of the federation. “He would then dictate to the trembling victims, how much money they must pay in pounds, euros and dollars, to secure their precious lives. He was in total control. Though barely literate, having dropped out in form three in secondary school, his educational inadequacy is hugely compensated for in his elephantine native intelligence. “He would never negotiate with his captives’ relations and friends. That was too risky. He rather dictated, not negotiated, directly, with his squirmy victims under threats of death. “To aid his horrendously lucrative blood “business”, he had about 170 telephone lines. Two of his handsets were Thuraya and Vertu, costing N2.4 million and N2.6million, respectively. “This princely sum of N5 million for only two telephone handsets is enough to set up a thriving business for a Nigerian; or build a four-bedroom bungalow; or buy 35 commercial motorcycles to empower struggling unemployed graduates, whose only “crime” is that they went through pains and pangs to study in the university, while Evans was busy acquiring the latest global kidnap tactics and strategies. “The good news is that the long arm of the law, though slow, has finally caught up with Evans. But, the bad news is that we are all certified kidnappers in the mould of Evans. “I will tell you why. Evans never kept his victims in lonely, desolate, eerie jungles where owls hoot ominously and monkeys do tricky “janglover” jumps on tree branches. When I was kidnapped for three weeks, I was kept in the jungles. But, I could hear church music, native drumming and singing, not far away. I could decipher the local language from the lyrics. “Our kidnappers used cars and motorcycles to purchase food stuff and fuel. I was convinced that the locals very well knew what “profession” my kidnappers were into. They obviously condoned it or, perhaps, enjoyed the resultant blood money. “God, I thank you eternally for saving my life. It was most horrific an experience. Death by installments! Fear of death; fear of fear! But, Evans unusually kept his captives inside busy neighbourhoods and estates. From the pictures and videos shown of his detention cells in new Igando town and Jakande Estate, Isolo, Lagos, Evans daringly operated right inside busy communities. Did neighbours not see suspicious movements over the years? “Did they not do simple inquiry and due diligence, as to who their next door neighbours were; and what they did for a living? Did neighbours not observe unusual vehicular traffic, taking in and ejection of passengers, some skirmishes and then sudden dead silence? “Were they not worried that their immediate neighbours did not come out openly in the day time to associate and interact with others? If they did, could they not simply interview such neighbours in a friendly manner, as to their names, what they did for a living; where they worked; their state of origin; profession, etc. “We become automatic complicit kidnappers when, out of negligence, indifference and sheer idiocy, we allow vicious, murderous kidnappers to live in our midst, and keep our brothers and sisters in dungeons next doors.” Nigerian police said kidnapping cases dropped with Evans’ arrest. This was revealed by police spokesman Moshood Jimoh, who also added that the International Police (Interpol) was investigating Evans’ activities.

Politics / Why The Senate Should Recall Senator Dino Meleya By Emmanuel Kings(ogashub) by Ogashub(m): 8:06am On Jul 05, 2017
I Have not actually paid mind to the children game been played in our house of Senate, but i watched a Video this morning which provides a Fire Brand SENATOR whose name i know as Dino ,the man speaks like one who they sent to represent his constituency and among his speech ,he wants the Senate to stand down from accepting any other Bills or Letters from the executive pending when the Executive will act of the rejection of MUGU sorry i mean Magi as EFCC head .

We recalled that MAGU has been found compliant to corruption by DSS investigation and the Senate rejected him but the Federal Government said that they prefer to work with rejected and dejected mistakes in human form.

Now i support the Senate to recall Meleya ,so that it will show that they are bunch of misfits and puppets who doesn't know the political game been cooked against sitting Senators .

They should know that once they open that door ,any Senator that refused to pull down his Boxers and allow his Governor or Federal Government to screw him without Condom will face the same Recall arrangement.

The Senate should simply invite the Governor ,hand him over to selected AD HOC senate team that will grill him like Barbecue fish ,then send him home with smack on the head .

The Only way the recall can make sense is ,if they are calling him to come and replace the Governor ,that i can say will get a good reception and with the above ,i am off but on .

Politics / NDIGBO: Of Toddler-governors And A Self-acclaimed Supreme Leader by Ogashub(m): 10:37am On Jul 04, 2017
I have laughed ceaselessly since the image for this write-up crept up. All I hoped for when I shared the story idea with our budding creative guy was an illustration of an innocuous assembly of the five South-East governors. I didn’t tell him to put them in diapers, I swear. This was entirely his idea, and I have said to him, ‘Bros, my hand no dey o!’

But here I am, stuck with a picture that more than tells the story of the crawling state of affairs in Kanu’s dream country, Biafra. The grin on my face returns each time a painting of the toddler-governors invades my subconscious. Same grin breaks into laughter when Hezekiah, that is his name, tries to find justification for the mischief he calls a caricature.
“Oga, dis na special cartoon o. Na Fani Kayode give me the inspiration. Him describe Rochas Okorocha as diaper-wearing governor. Dat one means say, the man na pipkin where elders dem gather.
“Shebi you talk say you wan discuss how that boy, Nnamdi Kanu, take make the governors of South-East dey wee wee for pant. Oga, na so I take join other governors for the matter o. No vex,” he explained.
“Shoo, how you go suggest say Okorocha and others be small boy where Kanu dey? Ok naa.
“If FFK dey give you inspiration for drawing, make e end there, bro. I no too trust the guy. Him dey yarn anyhow,” I grudgingly conceded.
For all my doubts, critics think the illustration couldn’t have been more apt. A new god has emerged to be worshipped in the South-East! He is the Messiah of a rising band of angry youths who allege that the Nigerian state offers no hope of any meaningful human development. Draped in colours of the rising sun, they demand a new nation called Biafra which boundary, at the moment, appears ill-defined, even to its future neighbours.
Kanu is the new God! He already lays claim to the all-conquering title of Supreme Leader. He swears by the gods of the land that he had been so anointed. His army of die-hard supporters are too fired up to query where and when the installation was done. Members of his dream team are only left to imagination. For all they care, their leader is infallible, and can rule by decrees. He does no wrong even when he soaks his speeches with hate and describes people with divergent opinions as ‘animals’ fit for the ‘zoo’.

Kanu is the Chief Priest of a crest-fallen generation who believe that a new Biafra would be a repository of miracles and wonder. He leaves adherents in no doubt of the superiority of his own deity. He tells hungry worshippers that they are Jews on a mission and has since set up a shrine in his homestead to lead believers to the revered land of promise. His words cannot return void. He decrees that there will be no election in Anambra except there is a referendum on Biafra. But he forecloses that Nigeria is yet a sovereign with all the appurtenances of power and resources to spare.
There’s no denying the high-pitch political fever that has gripped the entire Igbo land. There is a new kid on the block. It would be foolhardy to pretend that Kanu does not matter in the power equation of this country anymore. His seeming crude approach to political contest not withstanding, he has got the right numbers to bandy around. No member of the Igbo establishment, perhaps, enjoys the kind of following Kanu has at the moment. He could trade the numbers for a fortune and this is why he is quietly courted.
Politics is a game of numbers, folks! The current leadership in Igboland is very jittery. From Okorocha in Imo to Umahi in far flung Ebonyi, the jitters explain the hurried midnight meeting of five South-East governors in Abakaliki on Sunday. They preached unity but were roundly denounced by pro- Biafra agitators who seem bent on a suicidal mission to separate from Nigeria.
The current political dilemma in Igbo land must, therefore, be seen for what it is. It is primarily the outcome of a colossal failure on the part of the establishment across the region to correctly read, predict and preempt the mood of the frustrated teeming youths who are in want of efficient leadership to harness and deploy resources for the greatest good.
The governors of the South- East, past and present, must hide their heads in shame. They must take responsibility for creating the Kanu monster that is threatening the stability of the entire country. Bare-faced looting of meagre state resources, boot-licking, nepotism, mal-administration, criminal neglect of both the young and elderly, enthronement of cronyism and corruption are some of the igniting factors for Kanu’s rise to power.
In Okorocha’s Imo, for instance, the governor shamelessly admits that his wife, Nneoma, oversees activities in three government ministries, including the Amnesty Programme with budgets running into billions of Naira. Elsewhere, it has become common knowledge that his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, is being schemed to succeed his father-in-law, Okorocha, in two years time. Who keeps shut in the face of such abuse of power?
The story out of Umahi’s Ebonyi is even more disturbing. The governor unwittingly tells all and sundry that he has no ideas of what it means to harness the potential of his domain, a State so blessed with agrarian resources. Or, what would you make of a man whose only reason for wanting to opt out of any restructuring or Biafra conversation is because he believes that Ebonyi is too economically disadvantaged to join the fray.
The toddler governors allowed the perceived injury done to Ndigbo to fester. They lack solid balls of the sort that Kanu is brandishing everywhere. They allowed themselves to become sitting targets because of short term gains that mattered to just a small clique of crumb-seeking errand boys. They failed to raise their voices when it was most expedient and must now clutch on Kanu’s aprons to seek future relevance.
The other salient point that must be noted is that the emergence of a powerful new force in Kanu is a desperate attempt to challenge the status quo that is largely perceived as having seriously marginalized the region and deprived its people of access to power at the centre.
If later day revelations are to be believed, and this has allegedly been reinforced by ailing President Muhammadu Buhari, the sustained northern pursuit of tagging Ndigbo as a group of people never to be trusted with power does more to challenge the hypocritical posturing of a country supposedly founded on equity, fairness and justice.
The Kanu enigma is real but this could evaporate as quickly as it came. The defined path to his Biafra dream looks just as clumsy as it is hazy. I have searched everywhere for the Igbo intelligentsia and still can’t locate them in the horizon. Where is the road map for this journey to nationhood? This whole project seems to be about the Supreme Leader, Chief Priest and Messiah, all rolled up into one individual, Kanu!

The Afara-born rebel may be basking in the sun but he must choose not to play Emperor and god if this struggle is to endure or last.

Crime / Mom Dumps Her Newborn Baby In A Pit Latrine Just Minutes After She Gave Birth by Ogashub(m): 9:36am On Jul 04, 2017
Maria Chepterit, a fuel station attendant in Kenya has admitted in a Kapenguria court that she dumped her newborn baby in a pit latrine to die.

The newborn child was pulled out alive from the pit latrine on Wednesday in Murkwijit village located at the Kapenguria constituency in West Pokot County.

Neighbours were said to have rescued the boy after they heard his cries at night and rushed him to the Kapenguria County Hospital.

According to Nairobi News, Chepterit is said to have given birth unassisted at around 2am on Wednesday and dumped the baby in the pit latrine afterward.

She was later arrested and charged with concealing a birth contrary to Section 227 of the Penal Code.

The mother of four pleaded guilty before Resident Magistrate Phoebe Kulecho and asked for leniency when she appeared before the Magistrate Court on Thursday

According to her, she committed the act after quarreling with her husband, who had claimed that he was not responsible for the pregnancy.

The court ruled that she will remain in custody awaiting sentencing.

Politics / "Aisha Buhari's Hurried Trip To London Confirms My Claim" - Fayose by Ogashub(m): 7:05am On Jul 04, 2017
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the hurried trip embarked to London by First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari was a confirmation that President Muhammadu Buhari’s health had deteriorated, saying that “It is six days since I addressed the press and today, I still insist that the President is indeed on life-support.”

Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka said the governor, who addressed some journalists in Lagos on Monday, insisted that “The worsen condition of the President’s health necessitated the hurried trip of our First Lady, Her Excellency Aisha Buhari to London and it is hoped that she will have the courage to tell Nigerians the truth this time around.”

He said “no one is interested in President Buhari’s death. Rather, we are interested in freeing Nigeria from the hands of these few individuals who are presently holding the country to ransom.”

Governor Fayose, who maintained that President Buhari must resign, said; “Today is the 184th day of 2017. Out of these 184 days, our President has spent 107 days abroad taking care of his health.

“How does a nation move forward when its President is spending the better part of his time abroad for Medicare?
“For how long can Nigeria and its people wait for a President who is incapacitated? For how long can our people continue to suffer just because some people want to hold on to power at all cost?
“That was the reason I raised the issue of President Buhari’s age, health and mental capacity in 2015 and warned against electing President him.”

Speaking further, the governor said; “Nigerians should be reminded that in 2010 when there was uncertainty over the health of the then President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, President Buhari called on the National Assembly to impeach Yar'Adua.

“The Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who was the Spokesperson of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) also said Nigerians should be briefed daily on Yar’Adua’s health status. Lai Mohammed said then that ‘the health of the President, as a public figure cannot be of interest only to his family and friends. Nigerians have a right to know.’
“Just the same way President Buhari asked the National Assembly to remove Yar’Adua in 2010; I am also insisting that the President must be made to bow out of office so that Nigeria and its people can be saved from this state of uncertainty.
“No doubt, it has been argued that since Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is already functioning as Acting President, President Buhari can be bedridden for as long as his illness last, but the reality that Nigerians must accept is that the Acting President cannot fully exercise the powers of the President.
“However, pending his resignation, I am also aligning myself with what Lai Mohammed said in 2010 on Yar’Adua’s health by demanding that he (Lai Mohammed) should begin a daily briefing of Nigerians based on authentic details provided by the President's doctors.
“Nigeria belongs to all of and its collective interest remains greater than those of any individual or group and together, we must save Nigeria.”
