Nba for me I will not vote a failure GEJ just because APC has no credible candidate. I will rather waste the vote to an unknown party candidate and hope more people would reason my way and stop this cluelessness of a government. Nigerians should look for an alternative in another party. GEJ till 2015.

agabusta: This is a good write-up. It calls for sombre reflection from the FGN, the PDP, the APC and the generality of Nigerian people.

But unfortunately, in this part of the world, we seem to lack the ability to think deep. We prefer to be carried headlong into the abyss because of ego and empty pride.

In the face of superior argument, instead of us to backdown, we'll still continue in an unproductive path just because of ego or some unreasonable vendetta that is not in the interest of the country.

May God open our eyes to see, our ears to hear, an emotion tht can be appropriately controlled and the courage to act right.

Corruption and ineptitude in Nigeria are institutionalised, and the president is just a figurehead.

As long as he's still going to be surrounded by the same kind of people, nothing will change even if he's a few years younger.

This admin has taken deceit to an all new level and the people can't seem to understand that as long as they keep repeating thesame task using thesame methods over and over again, they would continuously get thesame results!

All these failures are so glaring the govt couldn't but rely on the sentiments of the people by propagating ethnoreligious politicking that would no doubt ensure their continuous hold on power and the perpetual subjugation of the population.

ikevin: are you referring to Nigerians as fools or I don't get you. In as much you don't like the presidency, am quite sure the holy book talks about respect for the elderly ones. That is the president with the first and second ranked northern rulers, yet you are so cavalier to spew disrespect. Can you defend you comment in the next 40 years if you are seeking for votes, " fools come and vote for a fool to rule this foolish country" abi . Use your vote in 2015 wisely and stop insulting people's parents.

ogbronx: As for we the people, we are the reason our
country is the mess it is. We have allowed
politicians set for us the bar of mediocrity,
which we now wallow in as a collective. We
are quick to praise governors for building
roads, we don’t even mind dancing to their
songs of shame when they cut tapes for the
launch of transformers that are likely to see
more days of darkness than light. We have
had our brains transformed by TV ads that
compare one of our worst leaders ever,
Goodluck Jonathan, to some of the best
leaders the world has ever produced. Only in
Nigeria can such an insanity pass. We claim
we want corruption to stop but we will not
vote for those who don’t share bags of rice.
We have now turned the two main political
parties into some of West Africa’s major
distributors of rice. Pretending we haven’t
been part of the problems of our country is to
deceive ourselves. Not only have we been part
of the problems, we are essentially the
problem. We have valued money over
character, we have valued rice over
competence. Our low threshold for leadership
has now meant that men who should be rotting
in jail are not only campaigning to be
governors, some have even won. Even in the
historically enlightened South-West, we have
men who if they dare enter the United States
will be arrested and jailed. Men who have
had crime movies made just for them. If in
doubt, just Google “Orange is the new Black”
to see how one of such men is now a
kingmaker here in Nigeria.
It is easy to say poverty is responsible for
why we no longer care about anything but
money, but no one has scientifically proved
that poverty erodes the human sense of value.
There are poor people who will not
compromise their values for cash let alone
cooked or uncooked rice. That is not to say
some people who collected bags of rice chose
their candidates based on who gave the
bigger bag or who didn’t give at all. Ekiti
State, for instance, has had ‘stomach
infrastructure’ debated against conventional
infrastructure. No one seems to speak about
human development.
