Crime / Re: Food Concepts (chicken Republic) Wants To Tarnish My Brother's Life by Ogeneigbo1: 8:26am On Sep 11, 2021
Thurmieee:
Pls my nairaland family. I really need help,we need help in our family.
This story is long but I'll try and touch everywhere. Please help me.

We got to Sokoto as corpers(NYSC) along the line my brother got employed in food concepts (chicken Republic) as assistant restaurant manager Sokoto branch......I think he impressed the bosses there and they made him restaurant manager in less than six months.

Now here's how the problem started

My elder brother's area manager came to arrest him.
Please house I really need help. My bro works for food concepts (chicken Republic) as the restaurant manager (RM). On Friday he went to work and his area manager came to arrest him that stock worth 2.1 million is missing.
He was detained from Friday.....not until Sunday before I could bail him.
During the course of investigation, the police found some variations. The area manager added figures to the report to make the matter a big one. So my brother in his defence requested for all the records (SIC,BIN card, stock movement, everything) to be brought to the police station and all the remaining 6 managers be brought in to for questioning, since he doesn't have direct contact with the so called stock. ( He is the restaurant manager. He has 6 shift managers under him.)
When the police started going through the records, we also found out that the shift managers has been falsifying their records, it's these records that the shift managers bring that he uses to make his report.
God helping us, the police had to release us on bail since he's been there for more than 48 hours(Friday to Sunday). The police asked everyone including all the shift managers and him(Area manager) to come on Sunday 10am for continuation he didn't show up, they called him on Monday too 10am he didn't show up.
He has been threaten with court and all this legal stuffs sha.
But we know my brother is innocent he's just out to get him.
I don't know the kind of help I should be requesting but I just thought this is the only platform I can get real help.

You said your brother impressed his Bosses and he was promoted..My question is those Bosses he impressed, where are they and what are they saying about this issue.

What is the relationship between your brother and the area manager in the past like..
Was there any issues in past between them that will make him witch hunt your brother.

Please answer this question sincerely.

Don't ever employ people who are related to work in the same company otherwise they may collude and steal from you.

There is a reason why banks don't employ siblings or a married couple!

Exactly, Sir..

It just that the trusted staff was too good to be ignored as a Gaurantor...but Alas! ,I am still a learner in entrepreneurship..

A bitter experience,I tell you.

same thing happened to me. Did all the test on heart and all but nothing came out. I was advised to do H-Pylori and Ulcer Test. They all came positive. I treated it and I'm feeling a lot better now.

Experience they say is a better teacher..

I hope he goes for these tests as every other cardiovascular test seems okay like he said.

Some of these little sickness can be deadly especially when they have eaten the system up.

Newguy999:
I am a guy, currently 22 years of age. For some time in the past I usually have occasional chest pains which comes and goes within 10 minutes. I thought it was as a result of my sugar intake as I consume soft drinks a lot with little or no exercises so I decided to cut down on my soft drink to no avail because I always end up going back to it.

Fast forward to sometime last month, I traveled to Europe to get a medical degree and when I got here, I started living on junk foods, KFC and McDonald’s as I could not cook. The chest pain came back one night and I decided to complain to my dad. Immediately I complained to him, I became conscious of it and I started fussing over it.

I went to google and everything I saw about pains in the chest always leads to cardiac arrest, stroke and dying. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, I was always trying to check my heartbeat every chance I get. My dad said it was due to the junk foods so I stopped junk foods and soft drinks as my cholesterol could be high. I still couldn’t shake off the horrible feeling I got whenever I checked my heartbeat.

I started having panic attacks and difficulties with breathing and always feeling tired. I eventually went for check up and my heartbeat showed a beat of 68 bpm. I got checked by a cardiologist, neurologist and an orthopedic doctor and they all said my vitals looked normal, blood pressure normal, blood oxygen level normal, blood sugar normal except for the orthopedic doctor who told me I had to fix my slouching posture.

It’s been a week after the check up but my life isn’t back to normal. I can’t keep complaining to my parents because I gave them quite a scare with my first complaint and I know they have their own life to live but I’m just scared, I live alone in my apartment here and I’m new so no friends yet.

Anytime I check my heartbeat it still feels irregular,I can’t enjoy the foods I use to love, I get scared of doing strenuous exercises like jogging because I’ve heard stories of people who collapsed while jogging, i don’t enjoy my sleep anymore as I read that most people with cardiac problems die in their sleep.

For a week now, I have been going for evening walks to keep fit and exercise and I only eat once a day. I eat 2 apples every day and I swallow a capsule of omega 3 fatty oil daily. The only protein I consume now is salmon or mackerel fish because of their heart strengthening capabilities.

I can’t focus on my studies anymore but I can’t complain because I don’t want to bother my parents anymore but I’m scared. Some nights I wake up with panic attacks and every morning I feel happy for sleeping and waking up successfully. I hate how flawed the human design is. Sometimes I get distracted but as soon as I feel any slight discomfort in my chest, I check my heartbeat and it feels irregular. There’s occasional sharp pains in my head that goes almost immediately and sometimes I feel blood throbbing through my veins in different parts of my body. Tomorrow I’ll be going out to get an apple series 6 watch so I can monitor my vitals better.

Sorry for the long read, I just had to let all of this out.

Go for H-Pylori or Ulcer Test ,let's see what the result looks like.
Talking from experience.
Wishing you fast recovery.

He was advised by his evil supporters that if he participated in his father's burial, he will get inheritance. That's what motivated him to try to force himself into the burial.
He contributed zero naira, zero errands for the burial.

Him and his evil supporters thought we are still living in 400 BC.

My mom is the one that has the power of administration over all assets, none of us are interested in sharing any property for now. Everyone should continue hustling. So my half brother will definitely be waiting in futility.

I knew from day 1 that this fight was all about inheritance..
Check my earlier advice .

Anyway congratulations on your win.but I will advice that when ever the property will be shared, please be benovalent enough to give him a portion..

He is still your half brother..Your father's first Son.

Madam, the truth is you guys need to change your approach to being mechanics.

I know your major stream of income is in parts sales. When you mix the business of selling parts and fixing them, you will naturally tend to throw.parts at any problem without the burden of proper and intensive diagnosis.

You guys are guilty of throwing parts in this case. Imagine this, if he paid the original bill of 1.3m, his problems will still be there. It tells you that the diagnosis was entirely wrong.

As premium service providers, you can't afford these issues. I expected you will personally ensure that this car gets fixed even if it means using your personal resources to avoid bad publicity. You even made it worst by suggesting he sells the car he bought cheap.

You have said it all.

4 years. He should be 40 years old this year.

There is no much battle here, because once the mother has remarried, all equations has been cancelled.

However,he still remains your father's first Son.No matter what must have happened in the past.

I will advise you look for sincere elders from your community and make them your friend and try as much as possible to let them know and why you feel the way you feel.

He already has the backing of some elders, try and get some too.in that way, your battle will be less stressful.

Finally, since your father NEVER said he should not come to his grave , allow him perform his rite under strict supervision. unless it was your father's wish on his sick bed.

But if this fight is because of the inheritance of your father, then you have a bigger battle and must tread carefully.

Above all, This is the time for you to pray very well.

no. Franchises are 100% the owner's investment. We can procure everything and help them get set up but they pay for it. It's your property.

That is what am saying.
It's the Franchisee that bears the heat.
It's only the Franchisors brand name that is at stake.

Anyway, you are doing great.
I wish am auto tech inclined,I would have applied.

Cheers.

Sir... That's not how franchises work...

With a franchise you are buying a name and more importantly a business model. The investment is 100% the franchisee's.

I think we are saying the same thing.
Are you gonna equip the workshop for the Franchisee, ma'am.?

If you're smart you'll understand where he's heading though.

Something along the lines of "don't do it", "you've not and are not likely to recoup what was invested here in Lekki in many more years to come"... Unless you're doing it just for the passion.

Now, thank me for the summary.

I think that is why she is going the Franchise way..
She has little or nothing to loose.

The Franchisee bears the heat for using her brand name
Though most times the Franchisee scales through if the brand name is a world class name..

Am subject to corrections though.

Pardon me but I could not help but notice this conversation. Expansion at this time? I am not a financial guru/analyst but I know enough to get by. Was privileged to share a moment with Glen and he talked about his passion for the business and the experience he has amassed over the years. This prompted me (not my business I know) to do a little digging to see how the business has faired since you guys started. I was unable to get info on how well the business is doing in Lagos vis-a-vis the investments put in at start-up (i.e regarding the Lagos arm).

I was, however, fortunate to see a video of the construction works that went on and I couldn't help but notice how happy you and Glen seemed. It was a beautiful thing to see and I was happy for both of you. Like I mentioned to Glen, having a business is wonderful, especially when the business was borne out of passion and becomes successful (these I did not share with him). Though a good thing to expand when the business is thriving but I was thinking (though naively considering that there is a parent company who I believe got your back) that there may be a need to step back and assess the journey so far before making the huge leap of expansion.

Unless I am mistaking, I saw that the business in Nigeria is barely 3 years old. If this is true then the rate of growth has been phenomenal. Goes to show your extraordinary sense for business. Though great but it got me a little worried (I shouldn't be because it is none of my business) and it got me thinking about how sustainable that rate of growth is. It is possible to grow a business too fast but to be sure I thought an assessment needs to be done before going ahead with.....

Sorry, I want to stop there because my conscience is beating me up. It is none of my business. I wish you well.

PS: I am yet to get word from your tech guys about the vehicle. I hope I hear from them soon. Thank you.

Travel / Re: Abuja Private Car Owners Who Double As Taxis On Their Way To Work Are Greedy by Ogeneigbo1: 7:03pm On Mar 02, 2021
It's because of people like you that made me resolve not to carry passengers.

I go to work everyday in a 7 passenger car,but I can't can't pick passenger for fear of the unknown.

1. I have laptops and other computer gadgets that can easily be stollen or damaged by passenger who will not even feel remorse when that happens rather they will remind you that you did not carry them free

2. I fear passengers like you breaking my door handle or spoiling my car but will say after all I paid you..the ride was not free.

It pains my heart that I pass alot of good passengers at various junction but I can't carry them because of bad passengers like you.

Each time I pass any junction or bus stop ,I only look to see if I will see faces I know , when I see such people I gladly help them free of charge..at least it's better than one bad passengers reminding me how I am not a taxi driver but still collecting same amount..

Bros.... you have to change this your mentality ,it's not gonna do you any good.
Last Last ...you buy your own car and carry passengers for less amount or you do charity.

awalkwithivy:
when I first came to Abuja, I noticed that there was a huge gap in the available taxis and the number of passengers on the road. But thankfully, I noticed that alot of private car owners would carry passengers who are going along their destinations, such as Banex, wuse, nicon junction, area 1, garki, AYA, secretariat etc
Now, a taxi driver survives by carrying passengers here and there, so in this era of fuel scarcity, it is understandable that since they have to share their market with private car owners, and pay their dues, as well as the cost of fuel, they may increase their fare from 200 to 250 per trip.
But you, yes you that have a 9 - 5 claiming to be a big man, insisting that we must enter your car with our change, why did you increase yours as well? abi you don join road transport workers ni? abi you bought your tickets this morning ni?
You all should stop being bloody greedy. and behave yourselves. until agboro start to catch una and ask for your members card, una no go calm down, at least so that when they catch you, your passengers can quickly claim friends and family.

Solar power is considered out of reach of the average middle class income earner.

But is it?

Let's go into it, step by step.

I hope, by the information I'll be detailing below to encourage most low-income earners to adopt solar power for their needs. It is not as expensive as the resellers would have it be.

NB: I am not a professional. Most of the views I'll express will likely be as a result of my own experience.
