jmoore: We will see till May. I will update the thread by then. A precedent must surely be set. Can't be intimated by nonsense tradition. Please I will like to know if this your half / step brother has other siblings . If yes, what is their position on this matter. I have seen this kind of ( Power Play ) before. And I tell you I already know how it will end. My advice to you is "Small Small Carefully Carefully" |

radautoworks: no. Franchises are 100% the owner's investment. We can procure everything and help them get set up but they pay for it. It's your property. That is what am saying. It's the Franchisee that bears the heat. It's only the Franchisors brand name that is at stake. Anyway, you are doing great. I wish am auto tech inclined,I would have applied. Cheers. |

radautoworks: Sir... That's not how franchises work...
With a franchise you are buying a name and more importantly a business model. The investment is 100% the franchisee's. I think we are saying the same thing. Are you gonna equip the workshop for the Franchisee, ma'am.? |

valarinz: If you're smart you'll understand where he's heading though.
Something along the lines of "don't do it", "you've not and are not likely to recoup what was invested here in Lekki in many more years to come"... Unless you're doing it just for the passion.
Now, thank me for the summary. I think that is why she is going the Franchise way.. She has little or nothing to loose. The Franchisee bears the heat for using her brand name Though most times the Franchisee scales through if the brand name is a world class name.. Am subject to corrections though. Cheers |

Cheers Crocif: Pardon me but I could not help but notice this conversation. Expansion at this time? I am not a financial guru/analyst but I know enough to get by. Was privileged to share a moment with Glen and he talked about his passion for the business and the experience he has amassed over the years. This prompted me (not my business I know) to do a little digging to see how the business has faired since you guys started. I was unable to get info on how well the business is doing in Lagos vis-a-vis the investments put in at start-up (i.e regarding the Lagos arm).
I was, however, fortunate to see a video of the construction works that went on and I couldn't help but notice how happy you and Glen seemed. It was a beautiful thing to see and I was happy for both of you. Like I mentioned to Glen, having a business is wonderful, especially when the business was borne out of passion and becomes successful (these I did not share with him). Though a good thing to expand when the business is thriving but I was thinking (though naively considering that there is a parent company who I believe got your back) that there may be a need to step back and assess the journey so far before making the huge leap of expansion.
Unless I am mistaking, I saw that the business in Nigeria is barely 3 years old. If this is true then the rate of growth has been phenomenal. Goes to show your extraordinary sense for business. Though great but it got me a little worried (I shouldn't be because it is none of my business) and it got me thinking about how sustainable that rate of growth is. It is possible to grow a business too fast but to be sure I thought an assessment needs to be done before going ahead with.....
Sorry, I want to stop there because my conscience is beating me up. It is none of my business. I wish you well.
PS: I am yet to get word from your tech guys about the vehicle. I hope I hear from them soon. Thank you. |

Travel › Re: Abuja Private Car Owners Who Double As Taxis On Their Way To Work Are Greedy by Ogeneigbo1: 7:03pm On Mar 02, 2021 |
It's because of people like you that made me resolve not to carry passengers. I go to work everyday in a 7 passenger car,but I can't can't pick passenger for fear of the unknown. 1. I have laptops and other computer gadgets that can easily be stollen or damaged by passenger who will not even feel remorse when that happens rather they will remind you that you did not carry them free 2. I fear passengers like you breaking my door handle or spoiling my car but will say after all I paid you..the ride was not free. It pains my heart that I pass alot of good passengers at various junction but I can't carry them because of bad passengers like you. Each time I pass any junction or bus stop ,I only look to see if I will see faces I know , when I see such people I gladly help them free of charge..at least it's better than one bad passengers reminding me how I am not a taxi driver but still collecting same amount.. Bros.... you have to change this your mentality ,it's not gonna do you any good. Last Last ...you buy your own car and carry passengers for less amount or you do charity. awalkwithivy: when I first came to Abuja, I noticed that there was a huge gap in the available taxis and the number of passengers on the road. But thankfully, I noticed that alot of private car owners would carry passengers who are going along their destinations, such as Banex, wuse, nicon junction, area 1, garki, AYA, secretariat etc Now, a taxi driver survives by carrying passengers here and there, so in this era of fuel scarcity, it is understandable that since they have to share their market with private car owners, and pay their dues, as well as the cost of fuel, they may increase their fare from 200 to 250 per trip. But you, yes you that have a 9 - 5 claiming to be a big man, insisting that we must enter your car with our change, why did you increase yours as well? abi you don join road transport workers ni? abi you bought your tickets this morning ni? You all should stop being bloody greedy. and behave yourselves. until agboro start to catch una and ask for your members card, una no go calm down, at least so that when they catch you, your passengers can quickly claim friends and family. yeye! mtcheeeew |

Mordecai: Solar power is considered out of reach of the average middle class income earner.
But is it?
Let's go into it, step by step.
I hope, by the information I'll be detailing below to encourage most low-income earners to adopt solar power for their needs. It is not as expensive as the resellers would have it be.
NB: I am not a professional. Most of the views I'll express will likely be as a result of my own experience. Hello. What will be the requirement for 22 18 watts bulb. 2 standing fans 1 tv. 1 laptop. 1 fridge. I wil like the appliances to run direct on sun light in day times and run on battery at night when i will remove some load . Thanks |

Union Bank now is arguably one of the best banks in terms of service You know Nigerians and stereotypes.... Making statement without facts.. I bank with Union Bank. As a matter of fact, I have 3 types of account with them. I can boldly tell anyone who cares to listen that union bank remains a solid bank with top notch service. |

Leaving Generator over the night is bad and annoying too. It's a grate source of noice pollution. We can give you a solution that will power your laptops ,tv and phones without disturbing your neighbours . It's very affordable and reliable too. Thebest12: Edited pls read again .
Good morning nairalanders . I parked in to this my new compound , though not so recently, when I parked in we use to have light until our street transformer got broke down and nepa have refused fixing it up since almost 7 heading to 8 months now . . I traveled and came back still the light is not yet fixed ,, as someone that depends online as a daily source of income. I mean , I hustle online . I do my business online both day and night . But the main time for my biz is midnight . Mind you not Yahoo o . Okay let go straight to the point. Due to the light issue I decided to buy a tiger I pass my neighbour generator. After like 2 days, my landlord came and started telling me about how they rob one man that lives in my street here 2 years ago or a year ago I don't know. Then when they reported to the police, the police told them that the reason for the robbery is because they always keep their generator on till dawn . That because of this I should be putting the generator off once it is 12 am . Like what the fu**ck I was like how about the heat that doesn't allow me sleep at night. And how about my business. So if I don't have battery on my phone I should not do anything online or I shouldn't power my PC to work. so if I go broke will they be the one to be feeding me or to pay my house rent ? Though I obeyed him for the first time but I'm already getting pissed off with this kind of law. And I'm thinking I should start disobeying him . Because this is affecting my business seriously. Once my battery go off at night ,even when I'm have a serious negotiation with a very serious client I can't rush to on my gen for what now ?? . . So the reason why opened this thread is to hear from you people. What should I do about this situation. if I should start disobeying him and go on to be putting on my gen till dawn , am I overreacting?? Is he right on this ? Does arm robbers most place their target on people that put on generator till dawn ? Pls I need answer to this questions.
Please help, I need your suggestion. I'm already getting mad on This |
