He tried, he has to be seen on doing the right thing, but they should not have left for Wike and Co to burn the place down, they need to work with incoming chairmen
So INEC is not obeying court orders 😂 but when Fubara did you all went mad, we can the whole country is now tillting towards anarchy, Tinubu the man that built Lagos destroyed Nigeria 😂 🤣 😄
computer0810: Since fubara has accused the police of causing trouble in rivers I hope his ready to secure the state his own way
Without the assistance of the state the police are nothing, if they don't want to secure the state the governor should empower the state vigilant group they can go and sleep or work for Wike, so they have left the council
Okoyeeboz: After Fubara the IGP on Thursday, you want police to vacate on Monday.
Just dey look wetin go happen for Rivers state. Just fold your hand dey look.
IGP can continue occupying the LGA, it will not stop governance at the local government council. But anytime you pass and see the council locked you just remembered how the country has failed, they can decide to forget the council rent new offices and work from their, but their allocations can't be stopped, because they tried it with the state allocations and their wishes were not granted
Kosiso12: Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has raised alarm over an alleged plan by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to block the release of funds from the Federation Account to 22 local government areas in Rivers State.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Frank claimed that Wike and his allies, who are reportedly opposed to the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, have devised this plan after failing to halt the successful local government elections held in the state on October 5, 2024.
According to Frank, Wike’s proxies are expected to approach a Federal High Court in Abuja soon to request an injunction that would freeze monthly funds allocation to the LGAs.
He said the petition would claim that the elections were conducted in defiance of a prior court ruling.
Frank urged Wike to abandon the course of action for the benefit of the people of Rivers State, stressing that the minister should resolve his differences with Governor Fubara through other means.
He also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prevent Wike from damaging his democratic legacy by orchestrating a court ruling similar to the one that affected local councils in Lagos during Tinubu’s tenure as governor under ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Frank warned the judiciary against entertaining any baseless petitions aimed at advancing Wike’s agenda.
He also condemned the police for their partisan involvement in the state’s political turmoil, calling on the security forces to protect all Rivers residents impartially.
Frank stressed the potential economic repercussions of withholding local government funds and the threat such actions pose to the democratic gains Nigeria has made since 1999.
He warned that any move to stifle democracy in Rivers State could spark wider unrest and reverse progress.
“The people of Rivers State have elected their council representatives in line with a recent Supreme Court ruling that mandated the democratization of all LGAs in Nigeria. Any attempt to undermine this will be resisted,” Frank stated.
He concluded by urging Governor Fubara to remain focused and congratulated the people of Rivers State for a peaceful and successful election.
No court will do that, the 27 jobless lawmakers tried to block allocations coming to state because of the budget they want Fubara to represent to but the courts didn't grant them that wish, so they'll not get that also, moreover the courts never stopped the elections, they only requested the police and DSS to withdraw their services for the elections and INEC not to release the voters register which as been released before the judgement. So they can continue running from one court to another very soon the courts would be tired of them, they can't continue giving out useless judgements and orders, Wike should go and rest and wait for another election season but for this he as lost, if not he will continuously disgrace himself
They can go to their Abuja courts as usual, these are pre election matters, in the first place there was no judgement stopping the elections, that same judgement they relied on was appealed and there was a stay of execution according to Falana, which means everything is back to status quo, but they will not speak about that, because they are one track minded people zombies as usual.
Police should as a matter of urgency vacate the LGA Secretariat or else another case would be instituted against them.
bluepreek: Fubara, you and I know you're already a confirmed one time governor......You can be gallivanting for now,but it's the end that matters....Abi you wan talk say you do reach Ambode? . Or the politically dead and buried Obaseki?
Does it matter if he rules for one term or not, but the fact that he stood against evil and federal might his name would be written in gold and in the history books as a governor that fought against the evil judgement from court, wicked police IG that gave orders to steal elections materials and snatch ballot boxes, but all powers belongs to God, by 2027 na who de alive to fight for Power, you guys can shove your second term up your asses. Rubbish
ojinuocheibi: hear yourself this is for evidence purpose if he doesn't make it public the will deny that they were not informed.
Which evidence purposes, what if they say they never saw the or read the papers? When they got the land they never made public advert, they should use same means they sold the land to them to make them pay all this is drama
Terabyteck: You people are very stupid, an Election that PDP and APC didn't participate is what you are are describing as victory for Fubara. A Governor that has been pushed away from his party is that one a Governor?
You call others stupid but your comments impolies you are more stupid than the people you are insulting, they pushed him out from PDP and he went to APP, did he stop APC and PDP from participating in the elections, they're afraid of defeat
Anither563: Hmmm. I thought this is a good news for the FCT. It's a good development that will help the FCT generate revenue and also help in curbing land speculation.
I wish those who are yet to pay their dues would take this opportunity to do so.
May God bless Nigeria for ever!
There is no need for this national announcement, send a personal message to each and everyone and give them deadlines for payment failure to do so you are free to revoke the land, this doesn't amount to achievement or working that's what he was appointed to do, not everything you turn to politics or bring to the media
Benbellamor: INEC wont honor the result now. FG wont release money...lastly secretariat will be locked up.....another election will be conducted and new LG chairmen will be elected and takes their seats in the secretariat.....
I will not waste my time in responding to you because you don't know anything INEC honor which result?

Wisdomkosi: The ongoing local government elections in Rivers State have descended into chaos, with heavy gunfire erupting in the Rumuepirikom community, hometown of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike.
It should be noted that Wike, a former governor of the state, is at odds with the present governor, Siminalayi Fubara, who, against the odds, has gone ahead with conducting the grassroots elections.
Eyewitnesses report that unidentified individuals stormed the area, warning residents to stay indoors. As electoral officers arrived at the ward in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, armed men, suspected to be political thugs, launched a violent attack.
At least one person has been rushed to a hospital after sustaining a bullet injury
BREAKING!!! Rivers Election : Hoodlums Attack 9News Nigeria Reporters, Break Their Camera, Other Gadgets(Photos)
By Wisdom Nwedene
Hoodlums suspected to be loyal to Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike have attacked 9News Nigeria Reporters covering the election in Rivers State.
Our correspondent, Emmanuel Atseyinku and his driver were brutally attacked around 1:30pm and their Camera demaged by the thugs said to be loyal to Wike while covering the ongoing Rivers State Local Government Election.
Speaking with 9News Nigeria South East Editor, Wisdom Nwedene on phone, Mr Atseyinku said the thugs attacked them just few poles from Igwuruta Divisional Police Station in Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Government area of Rivers State.
According to him, "we are running for our safety right now. They just attacked us with our Camera completely damaged and some of our gadgets stolen by them".
"We need help them please because our lives are no longer secured", he said as his phone switched off immediately and couldn't be reached again.
Efforts by 9News Nigeria to speak with Rivers Police Command proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, 9News Nigeria had reported that there is growing tension in Rivers State as suspected Loyalists of Wike, took to the streets to protest Governor Siminialayi Fubara’s decision to proceed with the local government elections in Rivers State, defying a Federal High Court judgment that cancelled the polls.
According to 9News Nigeria correspondent in Rivers State, the protesters comprised chieftains and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
They demanded that Governor Fubara obey the court’s decision, citing concerns over the legitimacy of the electoral process.
In a similar move, hundreds of All Progressives Congress (APC) members gathered at the party’s secretariat in Port Harcourt, preparing to embark on a protest of their own.
It should be noted that the police on Friday announced its decision not to partake in the election.
Meanwhile, voting has commenced in Unit 11 Ward 12 Ubimini in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Also Amb Ihunwo Chijioke, the APP candidate for Obio/Akpor LGA, has casted his vote in unit 40, Rumunduru, Obio/Akpor LGA.
Just frustration that the Almighty Wike of Rivers State could not stop the election. The earliest he gets to understand his time is up the better because he will be getting defeats one after another
Benbellamor: we warned you Not to Cry but you dey fall my hand
Would they kidnap the chairman from announcing the results, the IG just justified every Fubara said concerning him, all this is just a show of useless force to justify the money collected, but won't stop anything results are already coming out
grassrootsig: 2025: I’ll contest for Governor, Soludo has failed Anambra people – Moghalu
Immediate past Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Mr George Moghalu has declared his intention to run for the governorship position of Anambra State.
Moghalu who spoke with journalists in his home in Nnewi on Saturday morning said the state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has failed the people, hence the need to vote him out in next year’s governorship election.
There has been speculation that Moghalu may be contesting for the Senate to fill the vacant seat left in Anambra South by the demised senator, Ifeanyi Ubah, but he insisted that he had no such ambition.
He said: “I will be contesting for governor next year and not the Senate. I recently resigned from APC, and on October 1, I joined the Labour Party.
“Before I did so, I consulted my wife and children, my followers and friends, and I was convinced that the Labour Party is the party that aligns with my person, and the best suited platform to realize my ambition.
“We need to redeem Anambra fast because Soludo has failed the people. There is a dearth of infrastructure in the state, security has collapsed.
“We will not tolerate him further. What he could not do in four years, he will never be able to do in eight years. You don’t need eight years to develop Anambra.”
The former APC chieftain acknowledged that there is a zoning arrangement in the state, and that southern Senatorial zone where he and Soludo hail from is favoured for the contest.
He vowed to do only one term if he wins the seat, so as to complete the turn of the South, before the position moves to the central zone.
On why he left APC, which is the ruling party at the centre, where the federal government may likely work in his favour, he insisted that every politics is local, and that it would be the decision of Anambra people to vote any party, and not for the federal government to choose for the people.
I thought I was the only one that noticed it, too much book does not translate to good leader
Today will go down in history as the day structure was demolition in Rivers State, every 5th October will be remembered and public holiday will be declared
Kingzjayzee: A former Nigeria Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has claimed that Israel has “finally got the war it wanted”.
Fani-Kayode stated this in reaction to Iran’s ballistic missile attacks.
“Israel has finally got the war it wanted,” Fani-Kayode simply wrote on his verified X page.
On Tuesday, Iran launched at least 180 missiles into Israel.
This is the latest in a series of escalating attacks in years of conflict between the two nations and its Arab allies that threatens to push the Middle East closer toward a regionwide war.
Before Iran’s attack, Israel had landed a series of devastating attacks in recent weeks against the leadership of Hezbollah in Lebanon.
