nengibo:Bini is 1/2 not 1/4 of Edo state and the Bini community in diaspora is up to 400% more than that of the Ijaws unarguably. The Binis are the largest visible minority in the diaspora. Not the ones you use your mouth to publish, the Binis are visible out there in the Europe and America. The Binis presently are the second largest Nigeria group in the Uk only second to the Yorubas |
nengibo:Na only Edo state Bini people dey but them many die for the Edo state and for this Edo state na we dae first choose. Which state na for the Nigeria now we fit say una be Odion, for Edo state una be inconsequential minority, una nor Even get reach 4 wards let alone one local government, for Delta, Na Urhobo be Odion, follow by Ukwuani, if we say make we talk am as a whole,na Urhobo,na them full delta central, then for Delta North na Anioma full am Una Delta south sef una local government seem so under populated , una come still dae share am with Itsekiri, Isoko, and Even Urhobo again for Warri south. What about Bayelsa now, Bayelsa is among the least populated state in the country, it is in the class of the Ekiti and others. Rivers state nkor, you have the Igbo groups which makes up the overwhelming majority. Etche, Ikwerre, Obigbo, ndoni, omuma etc then you still have ogoni again. In the same rivers state Ondo state, you have just one local government. On the average, the local government of the Binis are far more numerically stronger than that of the Ijaws, even the rural ones, you can see that in voters registration figures and voting figures |
nengibo:Bro, there are far more Ijaws in Ondo state than there are In Edo state, Indigenous Ijaws in Edo state will not be more than 40 thousand but in Ondo state, they are well over hundred thousand as they have a full local government there |
ScamHunter:It was a country,an empire, an independent entity of which Esan division was a part, who gave the orders, the members of the armed forces in the various district in Benin empire must have been of mixed ethnicities. The empire encompasses what is known as Edo and delta today, Eastern Yorubaland and western Igboland.

Shiver99:I would like to see any excerpts that state that Arochukwu was 100,000 between 1700-1799 You should have also known that Arochukwu was a stable town devoid of wars, same cannot be said of Benin city, the seat of the glorious Benin Kingdom that was met with continuous political turmoil, ritual killings, succession disputes which led to the loss of lives on both sides supporting both princes and a society where migrating out was the norm. you should know precolonially that Bini was probably the most politically turmoiled in the whole of the southern region of Nigeria, the greatest beneficiaries of those migration today are Igbos, Western Igbos and eastern yorubas. There are many Edos by blood today walking around as Igbos and Yorubas Benin city population was not consistent, sometimes it was recounted to be over 80,000 precolonially you should know that aside Bini city, there are over 500 other towns and villages where the Binis reside or inhabit. Bini by all indices and standard today is a major minority

Nowenuse:If you have an axe to grind with Bini, spill it already There are two tribes, you will most likely find in Nigerian brothels, Igbo girls from Imo state, then girls from this tribe called Tiv, they run into millions across brothels in several parts of Nigeria from Lagos to Kaduna, to Kano to Benin etc, but they are not labeled prostitutes but Binis are labeled because they choose to do it differently, the same hustle, different methods. You will hardly find a Bini girl in Nigerian brothel, I have been there, done that. As for the witchcraft, it is certainly across all divides, Tell me which minority group has this much presence in the entertainment industry currently. They are all Binis

Ayorichodua:There are the same word in every tribe which can mean different things, the Word Oba is Bini just like it is yoruba. Oba means to shine, like a leading light, This is the breakdown of the full title. omo in Bini does not only means child in Benin, it is also used to refer a grown person who one is convinced is worthy human you can find comment like "Omo'nor" meaning "na person" in this case it is so. In that of the Binis there is a significant stress with the A signifying it is so and the Edo at the End is also a factor, the N at both side are also factors they are very important in Edo writings and they can't be wished away nor should not be interpreted wrongly, They are verbs talking about what the former word is doing. .OMO'N'OBA'N'EDO- The one that shines, The leading light of all Edo race. Light is always synonymous with leadership, something like a pacesetter. |
Ayorichodua:The Oba of Benin is a pure Edo man from Oza |
