I had a friend whose father was a football star in the 1950s, '60s and '70s. His father also coached the Super Eagles in the 1980s and the Super Falcons in the 1990s.

You would think that my friend would love football but it was quite the opposite.

My friend was a tennis star and he represented Nigeria in the 1990s. He hated football. He was always ranting that football fans were violent thugs and that the government paid too much attention to football.

Anyway, Nigeria defeated Greece at the 1994 World Cup and then I saw my friend the next day. He was ranting that the players had gone to disgrace Nigeria. "It was shown all over the world!"

I was confused because we played well and beat Greece. Then someone else told me what he was ranting about. Finidi George's goal celebration!

"That thing was shown on CNN! They'll think that's how Nigerians are" he complained. I couldn't stop laughing.

I have not been to Port Harcourt in a while, but I don't think Wike can do half of what Amaechi did in Rivers State education sector.

The primary schools Amaechi built in Rivers in 2010, no public primary school can challenge it today (10 years later). Yes, I taught in one of those schools years later as corps member so I know.

If Wike completed PH monorail, Nigerians and West Africans would have have been rushing to PH to see what a monorail looked like. Continuity is good in governance.

It is your duty as a tenant to ask a landlord to fix a house before you pack in. What you are supposed to fix is whatever spoils in the house while you are living there.

And on the issue of payment date. For the avoidance of doubt, rent is date to date. If that date changes, you are either cheating the landlord or the landlord is cheating you.

Don't attach sentiments to business.

There are worse landlords than tenants in this country.
sometime in 2009 i rented a 4Bedroom bungalow for 600k, after the 2yrs the guy increased to 750k. When i protested he said i should leave the house if i don't want to pay. Meanwhile, i had done POP and other stuffs in anticipation of a long stay. long story short, we landed at 700k but guess what, he took it to 800k the very next year. The moment i left the house after 6yrs of stay he gave it out for 1.2m based on the transformation i did on the house.

Do we really need them on the road? Why not train them to retrain drivers instead. Their job should be making sure pple can drive properly and not just moving vehicle without the requisite skills. Driving is a big deal but pple don't bother to learn how to drive before hitting the road in Nigeria. That is the real problem and not the excuses they give on the road to extort drivers.

At some point things will spin out of control in this country I swear. Imagine a road safety official maliciously damaging your vehicle and nothjng is done to him. Soon men will take care of that for good.

From 1999 to 2007, Wike served as the Chairman of Obio-Akpor LGA, Nigeria's richest LGA while Amaechi, served as Speaker of RSHA.

Governor Peter Odili picked Amaechi as PDP flag bearer but President Obasanjo rejected Amaechi's candidacy, so Odili dropped him and replaced him with Dr. Omehia, ( Amaechi's cousin)

Amaechi ran to Ghana, while Wike was on ground to make sure Amaechi regain his mandate.

Governor Wike is just a noise maker. The question I will want to ask him is that; how can a local government chairman make one a governor in this Nigeria? Secondly, at what point did he make Amaechi governor; was he the one that gave him PDP ticket or he was just running errands/coordinating Amaechi’s friends to get funds for Amaechi’s court case against then PDP?
Thirdly, please governor Wike should tell us who nominated him to be local government chairman for a second tenure?

I almost didn't want to make a comment but seeing what you wrote I just want to say........ You are a patriot. I wonder how pple missed the fact that wike was just an erand boy to his master ameachi . He was the one ameachi was sending to meet his friends and coordinate donations and other stuffs. Ameachi already won the primary election before obasanjo said it has K-leg. This very wike talking now was in hiding till obasanjo left office before ameachi marshalled him to run errands on his behalf.

One indisputable fact is that you can not separate the pope from the church. How can the pope clamour for the protection of the rights of Homosexuals within a civil law without condemning their act from a biblical point and still say they cant be joined on his pulpit. contradictory right?
