How much will it cost to get an Acer V3 or an Acer V5...I can't afford a new laptop now,so used is preferable...must be 17",nvidia graphics,at least 2gb Dedicated video memory,at least 4-6gb ram,HDD shudnt be less than 320gb,intel Core i5-Core i7....nt less than 2.40ghz processor speed...this are my honest requirements, however,if its nt available,I wudnt mind a close substitute...preferably acer or acer emachines..

Priceless24:
Lol, I'm a peacemaker(in my head sha). I understand your concerns but our leaders are more concerned with filling up their pockets than the diversification of Nigerias economy. It is painful because most western countries have found ways to almost replace their reliance on crude oil(that's what I meant when I said it's going out of fashion). They are going to rely less on Nigerias crude oil as time goes by and it's going to be drastic if these block head looters do not do something about it.
Now I get it,oil isn't such a big deal anymore is what u meant, many oil producing nations is knew this,so they worked hard in saving for d 'rainy days'...Norway has about $1trillion in oil reserve savings, for a country of about 5million people,yes,5million,dts huge...d current crop of leaders we have aren't goin to do anything abt it,its jst silly propaganda and white ankara politics...but,by God's grace,I shall rise to power someday,soon,..and Nigeria by God's help will breathe a sigh of relief...d situation is pathetic.

Gbam!
Proceeds from primary Agriculture cannot build us power stations, bridges, world class roads and other infrastructures, unless we can set up industries where we process those agricultural output into finished products, in that case, it has gone from agriculture to manufacturing.
Countries that depend on the kind of ''produce and export'' agriculture many Nigerians are suggesting are dirt poor and survive on foreign aid.
Ur head is their...agriculture might not be a good substitute for oil,but it will help,as a matter of fact, agriculture is not d only viable sector in Nigeria, look at sports and how it has helped d sectors of many countries,if d all of a sudden d Barclays Premiership gets shutdown, don't tell me d UK will still be smiling,d government should have diversified when oil was at its peak, cause when oil was at its peak, they didn't know all other countries were buying then, when they reduced their import, the price started falling, our economic experts here should have started feeling worried when it fell below a $100 per barrel,Nigeria isn't a proactive country,I mean, our leaders aren't proactive, they are merely a reactive bunch, they kept plundering away as if there was no tomorrow, wat Nigeria is suffering from now is called d 'Oil Curse' or 'Dutch Disease'..let the government empower all sectors of d economy and we will be the better for it,Read the Norway Oil Industry story and u'll understand what I am saying....Industrialization is key, power should have been stabilised loooong ago,if it was money,Nigeria had it then and a decisive government could have seen to it,ur so called Obasanjo either squandered or cornered $16bn power project money and nothing is said on it,put $1bn dollar into power generatn and see if it won't work,I don't see how our leaders won't suffer for this their act of greediness and wickedness, they must SUFFER..

FamilyRe: The Boy-child Should Also Be Domestically Inclined!!! by ogtavia(m): 8:35pm On Nov 20, 2014
nomabeeee:
I learnt how to do a lot of domestic work while I was growing up..if you will agree with me,mothers are only concerned about their girl-child being domestically inclined. They teach their girl-child probably because they feel knowing or doing domestic work is meant for just the female..

I personally don't agree to the fact that domestic work is meant for only the female..I think mothers should also teach their boy-child domestic work too..if you can teach your girl how to sweep, clean, cook,do the dishes and laundry then your boy should also learn that as well..it goes a long way..

The importance of the boy-child being domestically inclined is that when he grows up,he stands on his own. That knowledge helps him take care of his personal needs not to go about looking for someone to do it for him..this is my opinion...
I have four sisters and no brother,so obviously, one would expect dt I wud do no real domestic work...how wrong, growing up,my mother made sure I was in d kitchen helping out each time dere was work,I did everything my sisters did, infact time came, when we had to make rosters for chores,I swept, mopped, cleaned, washed, cooked, cut, grinded, all kinds of jobs, however, one chore I hated so much and begged to be exempted from was sweeping, infact,I preferred washing plate and cutting d lawn arnd our house to sweet..I was, lemme say..sweepophobic...lol...I didn't rily get it @ first,my mom was always on my neck, she wanted me to do everything...I thot she hated me,one day,I asked her why she was always on my neck, she said,I want u to grow up to be a responsible man,I didn't get it,but looking back at it now,I honestly appreciate d discipline more,...so,yes,d male gender shud be groomed to be domestically inclined, makes him respect and appreciate women more....I draw boundaries to what my sisters do today,I dnt let them lift heavy things if I am there,I dnt let them pound,I neva let dem pull d gen those days we had gen dt start by pulling,I dnt let them walk long distances or take cabs if I can help it,if it fits into my routine/time,I drop them off and pick them up,look,I am nt hear to blow my trumpet,nt all....I am only highlighting au my mum trained me and au it made me see d women folk in a new light(at least d deserving ones nt d ones who give d female gender a bad name) ; to be loved, cared for, respected, treated with gentleness, softness, dignity and above all, never to be mistreated in a way..call me a chauvinist or accuse me of chivalry...dts ur own bottle of coke.

The teacher might not be aware of the victim's health issues. Then again, there was no point yelling at the girl. She could have just reported her to the governing board for the case to be handled properly and not embarrass the poor girl.

Cut the woman some slack please...yes,she cheated, but the teacher shouldn't have yelled, for crying out loud, dts a young girl with a fragile emotion...it seems you don't know people or u find it hard caring about them, some people av fragile emotions,my younger sister who is 16yrs oldonce had a slight misunderstanding with another older female who is abt 20yrs old and my sister cried her eyes out for two days and harboured anger for a week, she is young and maybe went overboard, but d point I am making this,we all have different temperaments and for us to co exist in love and tolerance we must as much as possible learn to see them, understand them and handle such properly,I dnt knw if u av kids or young ones around especially ladies, they have fickle emotions and once its nt properly addressed could be replaced with very harsh emotions turning some into pyscopaths, serial killers, junkies and such like...the teacher is absolutely wrong for yelling at her,I believe d school has laws against cheating and punishment for cheating doesn't include being yelled out...some people especially kids hate being called out....

BusinessRe: Naira Now 172 Naira To A Dollar. Why? by ogtavia(m): 9:03pm On Nov 13, 2014
surveyProf:
Yeah, you're correct, our economy is an oil driven economy, i.e. The budget was perhaps planned using the prices of crude oil @ as when it was on a high side of one hundred and something dollar per barrel, as against the eighty five dollar per barrel currently @ as today, and moreover there is more demand for "FX" by mainly importers, this was the reason why cbn has to stop the sales of dollars @ as last week.

Similarly, you're right, Nigeria should focus more on increasing her export of goods n services, and import less, by dis way there will be earnings in foriegn currencies, Nigeria would have been able to do dis, if its agro sector is working, cocoa, rubber, tin etc, can earn fx for the economy, pending wen the prices of oil gets back to normal. but unfortunately, we focus more on oil.
It is indeed sad...however,d CBN stopping d sale of dollars to d importers isn't a permanent solutn although I won't blame d importers much..I mean, everyone wants to make a decent living...yet d permanent solution is firing d economy of Nigeria on all its cylinders using every and I mean, every possible avenue available, importation can continue,at least till when we can produce or assemble those things internally and exportation grows, that is one way I see it,oil is losing its value as d year goes by...d UAE saw dis and invested massively...our leaders squandered years of serious income through which we should have grown the economy channelling d revenue to foreign accounts....infact,if all d accounts of those corrupt leaders are scrutinized and dere illegal bounty/loot brought back into d economy,Nigerian economy will improve at least to an appreciable level...d annoying thing is...government is aware of the right thing yet they are unwilling to do it...isn't it annoying...I mean, its stupid, barbaric and wicked....its high time our leadersd stop using english and big big grammar and become more proactive, objective and face simple facts squarely...kill corruptn, ensure power supply and I fear greatly here, when oil was valuable, our leaders didn't do anything to ensure regular power supply and solve Nigeria's power problem..now,is it when oil loses its value,it will improve...look at it dis way thru dis analogy....assuming there is a family where d man and his wife earns jointly abt 3million Naira per month, they bought cars, cloths, travelled overseas on expensive holidays and in short, didn't invest at all, didn't build or own a house, but rented expensive apartments, sent their children to d most expensive schls all because they could afford, howver,a day came, when dere earnings received a massive hit, they barely earned a million per month jointly, what do they do at this point, cut down expenses, frivolities, begin massive investment, build permanent structures, boost their savings and prioritise their expenditure...Nigeria should do same, infact,d corruptn within d government has increased money in circulatn and its simple economics, once money increases in circulatn, its value falls and inflatn rises...it may take a while, but with effective prioritizatn d economy will bounce back..and I am sorry for d politicians, one day, dere actns will backfire and they will be at d mercy of angry youths and wrath of what they have sown...

I think the fault is as a result of excess demand for dollars from importers and frm the economics point of view, when there is more import than export, there is unfavourable balance of payment, likewise the falling prices of oil too, it will get back to normal soonest, i.e Cbn pegging the dollars.
I thought d same way too brotha..honestly,people keep shouting CBN,yes CBN is d apex bank and controls Nigeria's finance and such likes..yet there are agencies dt will hold as much leverage...d chambers of commerce and industries is one..why not increase export, regulate import,d more import outweighs export dere is a deep problem...d oil price which has gone south plunging d Naira and d economy into troubled times is a clear indicatn of government inaction...we have oil,to refine d oil in Nigeria,d government said its cheaper exporting d crude and bringing it in via importation, who are they deceiving, were our refineries working, jobs will be available cos of d ripple effect,we had oil,we didn't take of natural gas and other by-products of oil,its so sick..do other countries dt produce oil export it for refining and import it after its done...do they,I dnt think so...dis action alone dealt with our economy,d government was supposedly spending a lot trying to import oil,of course, there is no way we couldn't have exported crude oil, yet,it should av been balanced with internal oil refining and zero oil refining....I pray d Naira picks up in d nxt few months before d electn...however,d exportation must outweigh importatn to safeguide d Naira....
