And also how to get the study visa
I would also like to know if I can also work while studying to support myself. Thank you I await everyone's response

Reach out to Ogundare or drop your number here. I don't know how to put the Whatsapp link here. I am using my laptop.

I got an appointment for Aug 15 through the group. I had seen Sep 21st on my own. But my school resumes August 30, so I waited. Luckily, later in the day, someone posted on the group chat that Aug 15 was open. I rushed to the site and booked. Such a relief!

I am resuming this fall, I was supposed to resume last year fall but could not because of interview date and I had to defer it to this year.
Can I email you? I would like to tell you somethings. Thank you
BlessedABee:

I read your transcript and I couldn’t see anything wrong with what you said. Sometimes VO, just want you to answer only the questions they pose without providing more information. My view of their interview is - You can do prepare well and the VO still denies you. You can work on your confidence and practice with people before your next interview.

Must you go to school in Fall or you can wait till next year so you can go through education USA?

If you cannot sign up with them officially, follow them on social media they usually have different public sessions virtually where you can ask your own questions. They have a preparing for visa session but I think it would be later in the year since they are currently doing session for Fall resumption.

Thank you I also went for their general orientation yesterday and they did a general talk about the whole process but they didn't give enough details on the visa interview. Because I already gained admission and was previously denied I was hoping I could get a one on one conversation with the advisor but they were only attending to people who we're not planning to get admitted this year. If there is any way you could help me with it I would really appreciate it. Thanks
BlessedABee:
If you just finished secondary school, Your best bet is attending a session at Education USA. They will guide you and share all the available options with you including path to community college and scholarships.

This is a link to when the meeting in Lagos. They also do those sessions outside Lagos too

https://educationusa.state.gov/centers/educationusa-lagos

You have to attend their free information session first
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/educationusa-lagos-study-in-the-us-information-session-tickets-152861309291

When I was applying for my masters, I attended the session. I didn’t sign up because I finished undergrad earlier than their cut off year.

All the best

I'm not sure going to a community college for someone who already has a previous Bsc is a good idea, I think it's okay for someone who just finished secondary School and wants to go to a community college before transferring to a university than someone who already has a BSc
hustla:

Hello Chief,

Will a comm college fly for someone whos 27/28 with a previous BSc and whos willing to later switch to BSc?

I'm 18 it's not like I can't go to a university but I have to resume at this college by August and going to a university means I have to start over again and resume next year
BigIyanga:

Your chances of getting approved are slim if you are going to a community college.
How old are you?
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Ogundare26: 8:03pm On Jun 20, 2023
I just finished secondary School and I thought going to a college was also a good idea before transferring to a university and I just need to do 2 years in the community college and transfer to a university to do the remaining 2 years since it's also allowed
I have also wrote down some points I could say when I go for my next interview and the vo asks me why I'm going for an associate degree.
Sisib15:
Maybe you should apply to university. Sometimes, VOs frown upon colleges. I won't advise you to reapply again for visa without changing something in your approach.

No I just finished secondary School and it's $27,605 for 12 months

Do you have a BSc and how much is the yearly cost of the program?

I have someone who's looking into this route too

Thanks!

Do you have funding. Get some funding and try again and also, work on your confidence too

Please TEMITOPE and everyone else this is my transcript for my denied interview last week what do you have to say about it
Ogundare26:
Thank you. This is my transcript
Vo- pass me me your passport and I-20
Me- here they are
Vo - why are you going for an associate degree in nursing
Me- my primary motivation for pursuing a career in nursing has been my passion to take care of others from a young age I have been always been eager to take care of my friends and classmates in school who got hurt or sick and also I have been volunteering at my youth pastor husband hospital she is a nurse and she schooled at Cleveland State University and and I have volunteering at her husband hospital since my secondary School days and I also want to be part of the nursing sector here in Nigeria and make a difference as a skilled nurse with the knowledge I already gained during my studies in the us ( I think this is where the problem came from here I was supposed to say getting an associate degree was like laying a foundation for me in my career before transferring to a four year university to get my Bsn and explain more because I was going to a community college but because I was very nervous and didn't understand the question before answering I said said something else
Vo- who is sponsoring you
Me- my dad will be at sponsoring me throughout the duration of my stay in the US he is an architect and he is also into building construction and real estate management and he also has rental properties here in Lagos and ogun state where we reside and also he is into transportation business where he gives out cars to drivers who pay for it in installments every week. Then straight she gave me the blue paper and also I think she noticed I was nervous. So what's your advice everyone becos I'm trying to reapply again. Thanks quote author=TEMIT0PE post=123819411]My advice is, don't be in a hurry to reapply without trying to at least understand why you were denied (by sharing your transcript and asking people to critique it). Has anything significant changed about your profile between the denial and now ? You need to ask yourself this question.

Like you said, there are people who reapplied immediately and got approved, there are also those who got denied yet again, however, understanding the (likely) reason for your denial will improve the odds of getting approved, and help you navigate your way around the reason for the previous denial.

It's ultimately your decision and yours alone to make. All the best.

Thank you this really motivated me because I already told my dad to let me go to nursing school because I finished secondary School 2020 and started my visa application 2021 I was supposed to resume last year but could not get a interview date so I deferred it to this year just to get denied but my dad was the motivating me to reapply again and trust God maybe I can get a new date before August 21 and also get my visa approved. I pray so because I am worried about the time running out for me

Please TEMITOPE and everyone I need ur urgent advice on this
I was denied yesterday and I want to reapply and see if I can get a date before August 28 but some people said it may look like I am desperate to Leave Nigeria and they may not give me again
And also I heard that the rate of approval for people like me who just finished secondary School/ high school is low compared to people who are going for their graduate's
But I have also seen people who got denied and reapply again after some days and got approved so it's confusing me
