What is the SIWES Log Book? The log book is more of a memo booklet that a SIWES student must be in possession of to easily record the daily experience and happening as he or she is on the SIWES programme. The Log book as well contains basic data about the student, and also the company or place the student must have been attached to inorder to carry out the SIWES programme. Nevertheless, students on SIWES industrial training always have difficulties in filling the appropriate data into the Log book , that is why I came up with this post to help out. After grabbing headlines for showing results related to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the search of the word “Feku” in May, Google algorithms are again hogging the limelight. This time for showing images of US President Donald Trump for a search of the word “idiot”. The latest image onslaught is apparently the result of a campaign by online activists who are manipulating Google’s algorithm by linking the word to an image of Trump, CNET reported on Thursday. http://leetvilla.com/google-does-it-again-a-web-search-for-idiot-will-show-you-trumps-pictures/

Written by: Akinyele S. Oluwatosin Your Excellency Sir, APPEAL REGARDING THE PURPORTED INCREMENT DECISION IN AAUA TUITION FEE. First and fore most, its sacrosanct I seized this golden opportunity as a means to exhibit my felicitation on behalf of all Nigerian students in AAUA, akin to the just celebrated one-year in office of yours. Nevertheless, its necessary we commend all your tremendous effort towards piloting the sunshine state to a wonderful apogee amidst her equals. It's very clear that you've done a-lot by putting new innovations and measures to place in bid to intensify the progression of the good people of Ondo State. It's with sincere heart I write this letter as a concerned Nigerian student to solicit, tantamount to your firm decision to increase our tuition fee in AAUA. More so, it is a rumor refuted by many earlier, but no longer, as you stated your intension without equivocation during the course of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Saturday 9th, December 2017 convocation at the Obasanjo Multipurpose Hall. Aftermath, getting the rumor as a fact, the Nigerian students environment has been encircled with a tensed atmosphere while others embattled with sadness as they hold the hasty position that they won't be able to scale through, should be the case its implemented. Without iota of prejudice, every government tends to come up with a new ideology which will distinguished it from that of the immediate one, which yours can be termed: Think A new, Act A big. Nevertheless, you will definitely have your pivotal reasons for the big decision, perhaps to generate more for the state which you have all the locus standi to do so, as the no 1 citizen of our dear state. But then your excellency sir, it will be very commendable and well-celebrated if you can consider us and temper justice with mercy regarding the increment decision giving the below points; 1) To maintain the status quo of the university. Adekunle Ajasin University, Akubgba Akoko has gotten her stunts and good ratings for so long, as one of the best state university if not the best at present in Nigeria due to the low fee being charged. The non-substantial fee being charged by the state university has brought possibility for all and sundry to access the institution. Reiterating the aforementioned point, the price has restored equality of class as both the poor and rich paid the-same amount. 2) Considering the present state of our dear nation. As a matter of fact, the state at which the Federal republic of Nigeria is, at present, is of an unbalanced-equilibrium, subsequently encircled with a stagnant recession. The cost of living in the country is very high even in the state as most of our parents barely provide us with a meal per day unlike the normal three. The tuition news have brought phobia with most students already pessimistic with the conclusion that should the fee skyrocket; then there is no hope of studying further as they won't be able to afford it Sir. 3) There would be huge rate of drop-outs if the intentions is executed Sir. Synthesizing on this critically, dropping out of higher institutions due to fee hike isn't a good idea as it will make education looks like a privilege and not right. Dropping out can definitely result to a lot of negative consequences which may be detrimental to Ondo State. For examples; * Increase in the rate of students unwanted pregnancy. * Increase in students turning miscreants, thugs in other word. * Increase in theft rate. All the aforementioned consequence of dropping out, can definitely cause unrest in our society as they will be too free unlike the deter by lectures before. I supposed Ondo State as a place of pride wouldn't be happy to embrace them so as to keep the good reputation. 4) To increase the rate at which externals patronize Ondo State university. Reminiscing 10 years (decade) ago, majority of people outside Ondo State for example; Lagos, Ogun, Edo and Kwara to mention a few claimed not to have heard any tertiary institution like Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko. With the nought popularity of the university then, parents and guidance are reluctant to ensure their child or relatives enroll. After the big mitigation in tuition by the erstwhile governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, the popularity became so high as the news was everywhere "THE LEAST CHARGING STATE UNIVERSITY IN NIGERIA" even till now. Its empirical, till present, we now have many people outside Ondo State benefiting and spreading the goodnews as the status quo remains indefatigable. 5) Adekunle Ajasin University have succeeded in producing high intellectuals in past and present. Our Law department has been recorded one of the best in Nigeria in recent times for breeding genius that had first class and won the overall best student at the Nigeria law School. Moreover, the afore-written university has also succeeded in making impacts and creating good reputation in and outside Nigeria, upholding the State Mantra; Sunshine State which we articulated Aauaites are proud of. All the good records mentioned above were achieved through the Ondo State Government tremendous efforts, ASUU, NASU, SSANU and the entire Students co-operations and most especially the low fee being charged. To cap it all Sir, its imperative the tuition fee is not increased so as to give us optimism and confidence that you wouldn't renege upon all your good promises which actually spurred us more, to exercise our franchise in your favour. With this, Your Excellency Sir, Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, we plead earnestly via this diplomatic means to see to our shared aspirations. We will be genuinely happy and forever grateful if positive result is granted by you sir. LONG LIVE THE GOVERNOR OF ONDO STATE. LONG LIVE ONDO STATE. LONG LIVE AAUA. JAMB is not a test of knowledge, rather, it is a method adopted to select few students out of a multitude. (BOUBOW, 2015). In ONDO STATE, there are three Senatorial Districts, namely; Ondo North Senatorial District Ondo Central Senatorial District Ondo South Senatorial District There are 15 JAMB Accredited Centres in Ondo State, 12 in the Central, 3 in the North and none (0) in the South. Out of the three in the North, one(1) is in Owo, two (2) in Akungba. The two(2) in Akungba are in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, but they have just one Registration Centre. The one (1) in owo is in Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo. Which means that it is temporarily not available. NIGERIAN STUDENTS are going through lots of stress all in the name of "JAMB". Some amount should be spent to provide more accreditation centres, after all, JAMB is not free. The waste of time and risk of life should be curbed. If truly we want to develop as a nation, then we have to put all necessary mechanism of development in place. While trying to eradicate multiple registration of students and other irregularities by creating Accredited Centres, you failed to eradicate the unlawful discrimination of "Second Choice" by 99% of our tertiary institutions. I wasn't surprised when this option (Second Choice) was removed some years ago since institutions hardly consider such option. While there is a deadline given to institutions to complete all admission processes, little or no attention has been drawn to some institutions who are still in Academic Sessions as far back as 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 when they're supposed to be in 2017/2018 Academic Session. Due to strike and other unforseen circumstances, it's now taking longer than usual for most State/FG owned institutions in Nigeria to complete their academic sessions. These same institutions would be given another admission opportunity, this is wrong and absurd. JAMB Direct Entry form which used to be around April was given the same date with the normal form, As a result of this, some students can't process Direct Entry Admission due to the time it will take their respective institutions to process their results. JAMB DIRECT ENTRY FORM can only be found useful if it can be obtained around April, by then most institutions would have processed their results. I just hope and pray that things get better. MEANWHILE, the deadline for Registration is 6th of February, 2018. Temitope O. Eyinla (BOUBOW) Mathematical Sciences, Part IV Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko. |

Lagos State Coordinator of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Mr. Sunday Aladegbaye, has disclosed that candidates sitting for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) would experience a hitch-free examination. He made this known during the the Parents’ Forum organised by the Management of the King’s College in Lagos. According to him, measures were being taken to avoid technical hitches experienced by some candidates like malfunctioning of computers and poor power supply. He equally mentioned that there will be no compromise in the accreditation of centres to be used for this year’s UTME. “We will continue to insist on accreditation of well-equipped centres; no more, no less. “This is because, as a parent myself, I will not do anything that will compromise the future of my children,’’ Aladegbaye said. He mentioned that the Board would begin registration before the end of March and warned candidates against falling prey to fraudsters. #EDUCATED_THUG #OIBRAHIM Source:: http://www.victoromorogbe.com/2017/03/2017-utme-will-not-experience-hitches.html |

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has announced that students will no longer be able to secure admission into higher institutions while awaiting their O’level results. JAMB said this was part of its restructuring in preparation for the 2017 UTME higher institution examination. This means candidates must sit and obtain the results of either West African Examination Council school examination, WAEC, or National Examination Council, NECO, before admission. The board said this will keep candidates from taking the slots they do not qualify for. JAMB also introduced a fourth choice of school, but said candidates can apply to only one government-owned university. In a statement by its spokesperson, JAMB also announced the introduction of fourth choice of higher institution during application by candidates. Read the full statement below: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has concluded all restructuring, transformation, reforms and other preparation for the 2017 UTME and is now set to commence the sale of its application document in March, 2017. We sincerely appreciate the patience exhibited by Nigerians in allowing us take time to add value to the services we have been offering to Nigerians for over three decades. Because we need a different and progressive result that will position Nigerian educational system in an enviable height in the comity of nations, then we must do things differently. The Board is poised to see that a reasonable percentage of candidates who take this examination and are qualified find placement in tertiary institutions. In the cause of conducting admission exercise, many institutions have admitted candidates on merit only for them to discover that such candidates do not have qualified O’levels results or the right combination for admission and had to delete and start the process all over again. With this, they would have denied other qualified candidates the opportunities for admissions. This we are addressing by ensuring that no candidate is henceforth recommended without his O’levels result being supplied. To achieve this, JAMB will insist that candidates supply their result on its website during registration or later, but before admissions commences for them to be considered for admissions. We believe this will allow only qualified candidates to be considered for admissions. We have designed a Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) where the Board will interface with the institutions and ensure the compliance of this reform. The summary is that no candidate will be admitted with awaiting result. Candidates and their parents are also to note that the Board has restructured the registration platform to allow for only one choice of Public University. The new registration platform will now be first choice, second choice, third choice and fourth choice and not most preferred, preferred etc as it was. Candidates’ first choice can be a College, University, Innovative Enterprises Institutions or Polytechnic/Monotechnic. However, if a candidate makes a Public University his first choice, he will not have any public University to choose for 2nd, 3rd and 4th choice. He will have on the remaining three choices, a College, a Polytechnic, Private University and IEI’S. However, candidates for the 2017 UTME can now select NCE (College) or ND (Polytechnic/Monotechnic) as their 1st choice up to 3rd choice and the 4th IEI. They can select the IEI (Innovative Enterprise Institution, ND) as their 1st choice up to the 4th choice, but can only pick a public university once. This restructuring is to expand the opportunities available to candidates as almost all the public universities do not consider candidates on the second choice list because they hardly exhaust their first choice. The registration of UTME this year will go side by side with the Direct Entry and during registration, candidates 10 fingeare to be captured using Biometric Verification Machine (BVN). Again, we want to inform candidates that no cyber café will be registering candidates for our examination. On no account should any candidate patronize any cybercafé for our registration. It is important to note that the Board will not deploy the use of any scratch card for the 2017 UTME registration exercise. |
Management of the University of Osun, UNIOSUN, has threatened to expel over 4,000 students for allegedly using their school fees to “invest” in popular Ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, MMM and other purpose. A statement issued by the acting registrar of the institution, Gafar Shitu disclosed that the affected students are owing fees amounting to over N2bn. According to the statement, “Over 4000 students of Osun State University may lose their studentship for failing to pay their school fees before the expiration of February 28, 2017, deadline set by the university management. “No fewer than 400 parents/guardians of the defaulting students have called the University help lines to report that they had long given money to their children/wards. “The university Senate at its meeting of January 26, 2017, after observing that a large number of students had refused to turn up in spite of ceaseless appeals, decided that the students’ portal be reopened longer into the 12th week of resumption against the four weeks stipulated in the University regulations. “The decision of the University Senate, which was adequately communicated to all the students on February 2, 2017, was to afford more students the opportunity to pay their fees with effect from 17th to 24th February 2017, a date which was later extended until February 28, 2017. “On 16 February 2017, some students embarked on a protest against the enforcement of extant rules and regulations regarding fee payment and registration. “Investigations show that over 90 percent of the protesters had not registered for between two and 11 semesters, and were thus using the stipulated late registration penalty of N10, 000 as a smokescreen for their years of defaulting in fee payment and registration. |

The Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Development (CRD) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, Professor Sunday Amuseghan, last week, said the Centre has modern and relevant kits, facilities and personnel to impact entrepreneurial and vocational skills. Professor Amuseghan gave the affirmation while chatting with the crew of the University’s Public Relations Unit in his office. He disclosed that the Centre has modern teaching aids and facilities to train youths in skills like fashion designing, leather works (shoes, belts, bags etc), hair dressing and barbing, make over and beauty treatments, cake making and confectionary, beads making, and other modern and relevant skills. He said, “Adekunle Ajasin University has the relevant facilities and manpower that are needed for teaching our students and willing youths from outside the university community entrepreneurial and vocational skills.” Prof. Amuseghan explained that the mandate of the Centre is essentially to equip the students of the University and willing youths across the state with relevant vocational and entrepreneurship skills and make them self-sustaining and employable in today’s fast-changing work environments. According to the Director, “The mandate of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Development is to stimulate the interests of our students and the teeming youths across the state to become entrepreneurs, to activate the entrepreneurial potential in them, to equip them with the basic business and financial skills, and to provide mentoring for them.” Amuseghan, who lamented that the prevalent youth unemployment is partly rooted in the unemployability and unmarketability of graduates, noted that the Adekunle Ajasin University is arming its own students with relevant academic, vocational and entrepreneurship skills for the challenges that are usually associated with getting employment since some of the skills that are acquired by students while studying in the universities are not relevant to the demands of the labour market. In his words, ” As a University, we are quick to realise that there is more to the problem of youth unemployment. We also realise that the problem has part of its roots in the unemployability and unmarketability of the graduates and youths, and that is the reason we are leaving no stone unturned in making sure that we arm our students with the relevant alternative skills that will help them to cope with the challenges and dynamics of the labour after graduation.” Apart from organising workshops and training for students in the various skill-based programmes, the Centre also offers training in fashion designing, leather works (making of shoes, bags, belts), catering services, barbing and hair-dressing, ornaments and beads making among other aspects. |

The entire student populace of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, Ondo state, rejoice and congratulate His Excellency, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu Odunayo. We celebrate you and rejoice with you and we pray that may the Lord almighty bestow upon you the strength and power to rule Ondo state in Jesus name, Amen. We promise you that throughout your 4years of service as the Governor of Ondo state, you will surely and always have our support and corporation with your government. Sir, I have few things to request on behalf of the entire student populace. 1. We request that our school fee should remain the same without any increment. Adekunle Ajasin university is the only school that pays the least school fee and we appreciate the Ondo state Government for that. This appeal is part of the concerns about the non payment of the state workers and that has not only crumble the economic activities within and outside the campus but mitigating the students from having basic amenities to cope and sustain themselves and this lastly as taken a toll the the parents and guardians of this prestigious institution 2. The issue of electricity in Akungba is becoming unbecoming. In the book of Genesis Chapter 1 from verse 1-3 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light." But the case of Akungba seems to be different. The last time the PHCN supplied us electricity was April 2016. The concept of fundamental development enumerates the power is a huge factor the envision of a societal development and the situation of AAUA is affecting the populace including the students of the institution Sir, this students environment that has not witnessed since last year April 2016(10 months) now, and the issue of power supply in Akungba town is a very critical issue that no one is ready to attend to. It must also be acknowledge that throughout the whole federation,it is only AAUA that is suffering hugely because of the debilitating abysmal situation of electricity failure Many have seized this unfortunate happenings in indulging themselves to stealing in and outside of the campus, assaulting of our female students and breeding of thugs and hoodlums It has been so difficult for students to read, charge talk less of ironing our clothes. Students only rely on the school Generator that can be on and off any moment. The university motto is strongly channelled to reflect the standard of a 21st century citadel coupled with equipments and lecture theatres that will help the entire students to benefit fully from their respective lectures We appeal to our Fatherly Governor to please do something to our light. Soon enough, many intakes and fresh students will be admitted and later be subjected to this unfavourable conditions,we are urging the incoming government to find pragmatic solutions to this incidents that as crippled the state of affair of the institution, welfare and development of substantial business within and outside the university campus We request that the state government should please look into this matter and we the Nigerian students will be glad if something can be done with immediate effect. We are not commanding but appealing to your excellency that our plea is subjected to your review in which with much optimism,we are well sure that something will be done about this precarious issues bothering the students and its environs The mission of Adekunle Ajasin university is "to provide knowledge and skill for self reliance in a conducive environment where teaching ,learning and research can take place. " how can all this be achieved without a conducive environment. I believe as the Governor of Ondo state, you will have some projects to execute and aims to achieve. We are hoping not for projects but sustainable project that can be maintain for a long run thus upholding the status of the institution in bringing it to a global terrain I request that Adekunle Ajasin university should be part of your project. We student of Adekunle Ajasin university wants you to please come and visit our school and see what the state government can do for us. I believe that the institution needs some urgent rehabilitation in areas of lecture theatres, student welfare and security and lastly development in all areas of academic domain We lack a lot of things that It will take time to list out everything. And any of this request should not in any way affect our school fee. We are strongly emphasize on this issue of non increment to our tuition fees because of the harsh condition and non payment of our parent workers Many parents had to borrow funds in other to pay their children fees last years and am sure many haven't balanced their sheets Education by no means is one great essential part of the live of a youth and the students of AAUA must by all means have a smooth transition of academic calendar in other to boost their time management and lessen worry of unknown date for each session There are factors that can disrupt the academic calendar and that major factor is STRIKE It must be recalled that if not for a last minute intervention during a strike last year which lasted for over 3 months, our 500level law students will would have miss their callup to their respective law school and we don't even know what beacons later this year Strike can come up in so many ways and we did not pray to witness the type of strike we witnessed last year. This year,we want a smooth and fine academic session and this can only be possible if the school management did not deprive us of our right and most especially if our lecturers are being paid regularly(ASUU AAUA CHAPTER). we plea that both Academic and Non Academic staffs be paid regularly in other to avoid any means to disrupt the academic calendar. We also use this medium to invite banks like GTB,Wema,First, and many more to please come to Akungba community. This is also part of the challenges we are facing. A community without a single bank. Both students and indigene of the community all withdraw from the 3 banks in the school. Sir, we request for a standard hospital where students and indigenes of Akungba community can be attended to, the hospital in the environment are just clinic even the school health center is not standard enough. If there is an emergency, the next place to take such student or patient to is FMC Owo and the distance from Akungba to Owo is about 30-40 minutes, we want you to do something about this. The chairman and the Honorable representing this community have abandon their people totally. No project have been executed. Since these set of people have ignored us,then we have no option than to bring all the happenings to the hearing of the state government. You are a father to us and will believe in you that you will end all our sufferings. The moment we have been waiting for has come, Mr Governor sir,you are here to save Ondo state from suffering, you have been chosen to come and rescue the students of Adekunle Ajasin university, You have been elected to end famine in Ondo state. I must give kudos to our students that have been enduring for a very long time. You are a father to us and we believe in you that you will end all our sufferings. All this issues noted here are part of the debilitating times the student will later be subjected to as will appeal to your honourable office to find pragmatic solutions to all these affected areas of considerations in which further improvement will circumvent not only within the institution but the who AKOKO LAND!!!! GOD BLESS AAUA GOD BLESS ONDO STATE GOD BLESS MR GOVERNOR( The 6th Executive Governor of Ondo state ) GOD BLESS NIGERIA Otun Otun ni oooooo.... Vertigo is a specific kind of dizziness that happens when you aren’t even moving. It’s caused by various conditions associated with underlying problems in the ear, brain, or sensory nerve pathways. The dizzy feeling is often associated with the same sensation you get when you’re very high up and look down. It’s a problem for millions of Americans, but one doctor has found a quick, at-home fix for it. Dr. Carol Foster has developed a way to treat vertigo. Since taking her methods to YouTube, her video has had over 2.5 million views. Referring to the treatment as the “half-somersault maneuver,” the fix has been a success for millions of people around the world. The greatest part is how simple it is to combat the dizzy spells. First, you just have to tip your head up towards the ceiling. Then, you put your head down as if you’re going to do a somersault. Once in that position, look at your left elbow. Wait for the dizziness to stop, then raise your head to back level. After the dizziness stops again, sit back quickly. For people who suffer from vertigo, this solution has changed their lives. For Sue Rickers, her vertigo was so debilitating that she couldn’t do anything except wait for the episodes to pass. “I couldn’t drive, I couldn’t walk, I had to hold on to the wall,” Rickers remembers. “It was very, very scary.” Rickers suffered from vertigo for years. Her episodes would last for days before subsiding, but she said they would always come back. Just imagine how difficult that would make just trying to get through an average day. somersault maneuver and gave it a try. “It worked,” she said. “It worked the very first time!” If you, or anyone you know gets vertigo, you need to watch the video below. Please SHARE this with your friends and family. |
