Reading the mouthpiece of the Edo State Government, Crusoe Osagie, whose name sounds like a cruise (Follow Follow without direction), accusing the former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, of organising a meeting yesterday in Benin City on how to disrupt the coming Saturday elections with violence beats one's imagination of how shameful and hypocritical a state government can stoop so low because of fear of losing its leadership to the people
Before we remind them that yesterday, Adams Oshiomhole was in Abuja at the International Conference Centre (ICC) to get his certificate of return as the senator-elect for Edo North, let's question the "Cruise" Spokesperson what significance the PDP plays in the current situation in Edo State.
How did the PDP fare in the most recent elections when Oshiomhole was not in the news or accused of using touts? In addition to losing every seat they had previously held in the House of Representatives and the Senate, Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy Philip Shaibu were unable to win their respective units.
The clownish spokesman who struggles to raise his voice in defence of the State Government has evidently lost his own unit as well. So why should Comrade spend his time and energy meeting with touts to disrupt an election that the PDP is destined to lose?
Regrettably, Obaseki and his supporters have sunk to such low levels to insult Adams Oshiomhole in order to get support from the same Edo people who have rejected him.
Yesterday at the ICC in Abuja, we watched how Oshiomhole was celebrated and adored by Nigerians for his contribution to the growth of the common man, and same yesterday we also observed how Edo people chased Obaseki away from Uwelu market when he went for campaigns.
Of course, the distinction is obvious, and no interpretation is required to indicate that Obaseki has found himself in a boxed-in position that he has built with his own hands.
Obaseki has engaged in conflict with everyone, and today those who earlier defended him just because they mistakenly believed he was being bullied are no longer willing to do so since they themselves have declared war on him.
Do the people from whom he wants compassion need to be reminded of the fact that Obaseki was essentially plucked out of thin air by the APC and made a governor? Do they also need to be reminded of the fact that Obaseki assisted in the ouster of Adams Oshiomhole as the party's national chairman?
Crusoe Osagie seems to have forgotten how Obaseki was infiltrated into the PDP through the back door after Nyesom Wike yelled that he was not a party to the Tax Collectors who had brutalized Edo State resources in order to grant Obaseki the governorship ticket on the PDP platform.
Crusoe Osagie has forgotten how Obaseki battled Chief Dan Orbih, Ogbeide Ihama, and the legacy PDP to a standstill and caused them to regret ever knowing Obaseki.

Or is it the market women Obaseki promised to rebuild their markets and provide them with relief in the form of monetary donations to enable the traders who lost their products in the different infernos that devoured their market that he broke?
Crusoe Osagie, who clearly enjoys CRUISING without considering the circumstances around him, has easily forgotten how Obaseki laughed at the Obideints and boasted that they would run out of steam. Does he expect them to rally around him?
It is rather shameful that a Governor who the people thought should be allowed to finish his term in 2020 can now suddenly drop so low to raise concern over a supposed RETIRED Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole?
The person without people is the poorest person in the world; poverty is not solely a result of lacking resources like money or real estate. We refer to this as "poverty of the mind," "poverty of ideas," "poverty of talents," "poverty of power," "poverty of vision," "poverty of success," and several other terms.
The worst kind of poverty somebody may ever experience for themselves is the lack of a family and friends.
Friends and family are those who accept you, look out for you, assist you, respect you, believe in you, celebrate you, give you encouragement, stand by you, and pray for or with you. And love works in just that way.

Following the Legislative elections on Saturday, this is most likely how a Wild Goose Chase would be defined in the Edo Modern Dictionary.
wild goose chase /ˌwaɪldˈɡuːs ˌtʃeɪs/ a fruitless and time-wasting search because the person or item sought does not exist or is located elsewhere: For example; Following the outcome of the 24 House of Assembly seats, Obaseki knew he and Philip Shaibu were on a wild goose chase.
Due to the fact that the PDP has been completely eliminated from Edo State and is now at the mercy of the APC and the LP, also known as ELUUPEE (the new sherif in town), the embattled governor of Edo State, H.E. Godwin Obaseki, is currently running a race that is essentially motivated by his own self-interest.
Yesterday, Obaseki was seen on camera pleading with the public to spare him from impeachment while obviously soliciting votes from Obidents and asserting that he was the first to state that Obidents were present in every home.
It was indeed a pitiful sight to see Obaseki struggle to control his emotions as he was on the verge of tears.
Obaseki is so despised in Edo today that citizens not only go to King Square and yell "Obaseki Is A Goat," but they also refer to him as an enemy of the Benin Kingdom. To make matters worse, Obaseki's defenders and many SAs can't defend the governor without quoting forgiveness passages from the Bible and other religious books.
"You can't cut your nose off to spite your face, you can't throw the baby out with the bathwater, to err is human, to forgive is divine, blah blah blah,"
It's difficult to defend Obaseki, whom Edo locals now refer to as "Conan the Destroyer," for reportedly destroying their homes and selling their lands to foreigners.
They allege he is at odds with the Oba of Benin because he wants to CORNER the artefacts intended for the Royal Palace. They accuse him of fostering thuggery in the State and disregarding the educational sector by starving children and teachers while saying Edo best is working.
Even the Governor is still appealing, saying that he was carried away, but does Obaseki deserve the people's sympathy? Someone who failed to inaugurate representatives for 14 constituencies to the House of Assembly for more than three years, this implies that these constituencies have not had representation in governance for the past three years.
The first state to do so in a democratic country around the world, and yet he has appropriated funds with a minority of the house, at a time when Nigerians demand openness and good administration.
Does such a tyrannical rule call for mercy in a time when young people look up to excellent mentorship? By playing the impeachment card, he now appears to be seeking pity in an effort to be saved.

Obaseki, like Osamuyi, the great Hemp Smoker on Social Media who refuses to listen to his mother, Mama Osamuyi, is now rushing about begging children to save him, much like calling Cow Uncle because you want to eat beef.

Obaseki And His Crocodile Tears , What Edo People Must Know By Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah

It is truly pitiful to witness the Edo State Governor walking around visiting market women, traders, artisans, and others appealing with them to vote for him after the results of the previous presidential election slapped Obaseki in the face.
The election was the worst in Edo State's history for the PDP; it appears that no PDP chieftain won their respective units, starting with State Governor Godwin Obaseki, his deputy Philip Shaibu, or his SSG Barr Ogie, who appears to be unluckily entangled in the web of Obaseki and Philip Shaibu's sins against the Edo Nation.
Obaseki, as Colin Powell correctly stated, has lost the trust of his troops, people, and electorates. People perceive him as self-centered and hostile to the growth of others.
Where will Obaseki begin his appeal? Is it from his political party, the PDP, that he was provided shelter, and when he arrived, he threw the landlords out and made them homeless?
Or is it from the market women, whom his revenue-generating agents have drained and turned into suffering traders? The N100 million naira compensation promised to market women and victims of the Ekiosa market fire turned out to be fake.
Is it from the lecturers? Please look at a summary of his educational achievements in the state during the last 7 years. Obaseki disengaged all of the workers at the College of Agriculture, Iguoriakhi, and closed it down in 2018.
Obaseki closed and demolished the Benin City Center for Community Development Education, which was linked with the University of Benin for diploma programmes.
Tayo Akpata University of Education's College of Education, located in Ekiadalor, was shut down by Obaseki in 2018.
The Edo State School of Nursing in Benin City was shut down by Obaseki in 2018.
Igueben College of Education was shut down by Obaseki.
Michael Imodu College of Physical Education, in Afuze, was shut down by Obaseki.
The College of Agricultural Technology, Agenebode, was shut down by Obaseki.
Notwithstanding Edo State's severe shortage of secondary school classroom teachers for the past four years of Obaseki's administration, it is alleged the Governor has not hired a single teacher.
Or is it from the traditional rulers? The Benin populace perceives Obaseki as having betrayed the revered Benin Kingdom?
Is it the medical personnel? Obaseki has not built or renovated a single hospital. Government general hospitals throughout the state are in a coma, yet he refuses to use the ultramodern five-star Central Hospital established by his predecessor.
Maybe he needs the help of the Obident movement, which he always mocked and predicted would fizzle out?
Where is he running to? As for his deputy, Philip Shaibu, I believe his case is even worse. Philip is currently a leper in Edo North as a whole; in the last election, he was ignored by his people as if he had never existed; they see him in Edo North as such leaders as Pol-Pot, Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Idi Amin, and others.
One of the factors contributing to their perception of him as a despot is his ongoing conflict with Edo North's traditional institution. It would be terrible for Philip if his people rejected him because he is an Edo North product.
However, whether Obaseki likes it or not, March 11th is judgement day, and first and foremost, Obaseki does not have foot soldiers in his PDP; the persons currently left in the party are the party members Obaseki departed with from the APC. And who were the APC members who defected with Obaseki? Only his commissioners and appointees. All other APC members stayed and are still members of the party today.
Who is left in the PDP now? These same few members that went with Obaseki are the PDP members who remain, and they are a handful, so Obaseki is essentially intended to fail by default on Saturday. This is the first time the PDP has no Senate or Representative member, all thanks to Ematon (Iron), as his supporters refer to him.
The most fundamental failing of leadership is the failure to foresee; Obaseki, unfortunately, failed to read the pulse of a wiser generation. It's a case of crocodile tears, and this time no one will feel sorry for him; the tears are meaningless and irrelevant to the electorates.
To make matters worse, Obaseki has been at the forefront of anti-people policies, thus on any minor provocation, people take to the streets and yell "Obaseki is a goat!"
Yet, even the LP candidates he seeded for each of the 24 House of Assembly members may not be able to save him, as the LP can only win roughly 5 seats. The APC is completely supported in Edo North and Central, while the LP contest is in Edo South.
Obaseki is currently in a precarious situation and his tears won't help the situation right now. He may have to answer for the enormous debt he created when he utilized a rubber stamped incomplete House of Assembly to approve.
A bad step by a leader serves as a warning to the followers that leaders make mistakes! Yeah, even good leaders make mistakes.
Leaders are not flawless! The attitude towards mistakes distinguishes between bad and good leaders. Terrible leaders are those who do not learn from their mistakes and do not admit them.
How Oshiomhole Added Glamour To Tinubu's Campaign In Edo State (Video)
After elections, comes governance, the long-awaited presidential elections of 2023 have been won and lost, and it is now up to the winner to prepare for effective governance.
Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, the Deputy Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, is one individual who has changed the face of electoral campaigns in Edo North and added glamour to the campaigns.
Oshiomhole accepted the challenge of a rigorous campaign and stormed the over 60 wards in Edo North advocating for APC presidential candidate and President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The former NLC president did it in a unique way that made residents fall in love with Tinubu; he captivated them with his charismatic charm, he was simply lovely, and he mingled with every single local, much to the delight of his constituents.
Oshiomhole, a skilled orator, detailed what Asiwaju Tinubu will do for the people when elected president. He not only persuaded them with his words, but he also amused them with amazing dance steps to Tinubu's renowned Wake Up Naija song.
It became a competition at one point, as each ward fought to have Oshiomhole come talk to them, resulting in his campaigns running into late nights every single day.
Oshiomhole could only have accomplished this achievement because of his closeness to his constituents. During the campaigns in Edo North, Oshiomhole was the man to watch.
We wished the elections were still ongoing since it was both educational and entertaining to observe Adams Oshiomhole campaigning among his constituents.
The message of this story is to be nice and serve the people at every opportunity because tomorrow is always pregnant.
Obaseki, Shaibu In Battle For Their Lives As Oshiomhole, Obidient Sends Them To Oblivion
If we must state the facts, the recent presidential election threw a lot of surprises at the leading parties, as the proverbial third force rose out in the form of the LP, represented by Peter Obi and backed by the Obidient movement.
It was a Tsunami in so many places especially where PDP has their strongholds thereby eroding the party of so many political offices as well as denying the party substantially the 2023 presidential election.
Yet in Edo State, a comical situation is currently unfolding that could end the political careers of the state's governor, Godwin Obaseki, and his deputy, Philip Shaibu. In actuality, the Obidient movement swept through Edo State with an intensity that defies description.
They shook the state to its core, but a stroke of luck occurred with the APC when Adams Oshiomhole happened to be on the ballot paper vying for the Edo North Senate seat, and that one act became the light at the end of the tunnel.
A cursory examination of the results from Edo State reveals that Oshiomhole's participation was a game changer, preventing the LP from washing the APC away and, strangely, allowing the APC to enjoy its best-ever victory in the State while losing the presidential elections.
Obi, a third-party candidate, received 331,163 votes, while his closest challenger in the state, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received 144,471 votes.
On the other hand, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, received 89,585 votes, while the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, received 2,743 votes.
Of the 144,471 votes gathered by Tinubu, Oshiomhole's Edo North pulled over 100,000 votes for the APC presidential candidate.
Not done, the APC won more Senate and House of Representatives seats for the first time, leaving the PDP with none. One House of Representatives seat was deemed inconclusive, although the LP produced two Rep members.
Oshiomhole was crucial in bringing the Legacy PDP and APC in the State to an accord.
The LP performed well in Edo South, but there may be blowback given the recent revelation that Obaseki is the sole sponsor of all LP candidates in Edo State.
Obaseki was using the Party as a backup plan in case he lost his legal battle with the Legacy PDP, which is represented by Chief Dan Orbih.
Now that they are aware that the LP candidates are all the governor's lackeys and would join the PDP as soon as they are sworn in, Edo residents may reject them.
How it all started.
On taking office as Edo State Governor, Obaseki and his Deputy Philip Shaibu attempted to hijack the APC structure in the state and pull the strings off Adams Oshiomhole, the party's leader and the National Chairman of the APC; they were tools in the hands of the cabal in removing Adams Oshiomhole because of his perceived closeness with Tinubu, whom they never wanted to win the APC ticket.
Even with Oshiomhole out of the picture, the APC nevertheless managed to disqualify Obaseki from running for governor on their party ticket.
Obaseki defected to the PDP and soon became the landlord, frustrating the legacy PDP and making them homeless, a tendency that has earned Obaseki the moniker of a serial BETRAYAL.
Obaseki received public humiliation when he was unable to win his polling unit in the election on Saturday. For a variety of reasons, the state governor is in full panic mode.
His deputy, Philip Shaibu, who was practically nurtured by Adams Oshiomhole, appears to be the hardest hit, as his people rejected him like a plague of sickness, refusing to be associated with him even from a distance.
A sitting Deputy Governor who is unable to win his unit spells disaster; for someone aspiring to be Governor next year, it is a huge embarrassment that, if not handled properly, can lead to depression.
Both Obaseki and Shaibu's sins are as long as the Nile and also bothers on taking the electorates for a ride.
For example, the state lacks infrastructure, development, bad roads, schools with no teachers, accusations of taking people's land and selling it to foreigners, a lack of transparency, and a slew of other ills.
They have lost the faith of the state's political structure as well as its electorates. Their case is one that no one can wish on his enemies, regardless of the damage they have done to them.
Because Philip Shaibu LP is unpopular in Edo North, it is unavoidable that he will not have a single House of Assembly member from Edo North sympathetic to his cause. The PDP has been cremated in Edo North and is no longer in existence as far as March 11th elections are concerned.
Edo Central's collaboration with APC and PDP would undoubtedly swing the day to APC, leaving Edo South undecided, but with the revelation that Obaseki is behind all the LP candidates, citizens may not fall for the trap.
In front of cameras and on national broadcasts, market women have been seen repeatedly singing songs with his name and labeling him a GOAT.
It is clear that with Tinubu as President, he cannot avoid constituting an assembly, just as he has denied 14 members inauguration for more than three years, which is similar to tyrannical moves noted with such personalities as Hitler and Stalin.
Adams Oshiomhole, on the other hand, is an example of someone who sought an elective position to demonstrate to the world that he was well-liked and not yet retired. His participation into the Senate race was later proved to be the deciding factor in Tinubu's victory in Edo North.
These are exciting times, but on March 11th, we will finally know who the landlords and tenants of Osadebe Avenue are.

The Supreme Court's decision today has demonstrated not only to hungry and battered Nigerians, but to the entire world, that the Naira Redesign Policy was a deliberate attempt to incite the general public against the APC's presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This was the moment Oshiomhole journeyed to the hinterlands of Edo North to express his sympathy for his people's plight and to inform them that the government, including Buhari and CBN Governor Emiefele, had no jurisdiction to declare our old Naira notes invalid.
The Deputy DG of the APC presidential campaign council took the risk of going out and telling the people that this was not an APC policy and that the people's suffering was due to Emefiele's wickedness in selling a dummy to Buhari that the policy would stop vote buying.
Whereas few people were afraid to challenge the policy, Oshiomhole, El Rufai, Ganduje, Yahaya Bello, and others took the bull by the horn.
Oshiomhole persuaded the people, as evidenced by the footage, that Nigeria will be great and Tinubu would reverse the policy once elected, and when it came time to vote, they chose the APC. Oshiomhole has always stood on the side of the people "Come Rain or Come Shine."

And guess what? The people of Edo North overwhelmingly voted for Tinubu, rendering Peter Obi's presidency meaningless in Edo North and consigning Obaseki and his Deputy, Philip Shaibu, to oblivion.
