McTominay:La liga this, la liga that.......Despite his magnificent record of 121 goals in the Champions league, you still talking about la liga. Does he play la liga teams in UCL?? He was best player at the Olympics & the just concluded Copa America and also 2014 Golden Ball winner at the world cup. Did he also play La liga teams in those tournaments I mentioned? No doubt, Ronaldo has highest assist in UCL but do not forget he played 27 matches with just 5 or 6 assist more than Messi. The bolded is not a statement of fact but mere assumption. In 2012, he was Balon D'or winner cos it is first an individual award before team achievements is considered as back up. He broke and set a new record of 50goals in Europe top leagues. He broke and set new UCL record of 14goals. He broke Muller's record of 85goals and set a new record of 91goals in a calendar year. He set a new record of 73goals in a European league season. I just listed the major ones here......I think you should google Messi achievements in 2012. Copa Del Rey is not a major trophy but at least he won something compare to 2013 that a trophiless Ronaldo defeated a treble winning Ribery. 2013 was still based on individual performance like I said earlier. |
Omeizadean:Please be specific cos my memory is very much intact and i cant remember a time Sepp Blatter robbed Ronaldo to favour Messi. After watching their clips, the next generation will decide who the better player is but one thing i can bet my balls on, is the fact that, majority will still rate Messi ahead of Ronaldo just like many serving and retired players and coaches at doing at the moment. Talking about records, we are still waiting for Ronaldo to break Messi's........... 91 Goals in a Calendar Year. 6 European Golden Boot. 50 League Goals in a Top League. 73 Goals Record in Europe. i can go on and on but let me strop here.....You guys should stop sounding like Messi does not have records. Get ready to explain to the next gen how Ronaldo played about 120 games more than Messi with less than 40goals

ThierryJay:1-0 no be lead against a team like Man-City. Like you said, if Messi had not killed the game with that goal, there's a very high probability that, City would have equalized. |
ojaysam25:If it were some other person, i wouldn't have responded but i was surprise to see its coming from one of the few Ronaldo i respect on NL. At the bolded, you are not far from the truth. |
paulolee:Rooney no send anybody nah...... If you be Fergie, you fit forgive Messi for denying you 2 UCL? |
ojaysam25:Appreciate the goal and move on. At the bolded, you know football too well to judge messi with less than 5games. Without Ronaldo, Man u would have beaten Newcastle and Westham like they did last season but I wouldnt downplay his effort......meanwhile, his scoring spree didn't stop from losing to Villa & Young boys! |
Christiansen:The reason Man U & some Madrid fans do not like Messi is not far fetched. They don too collect for the guy hand. |

ThierryJay:This pill is just too bitter for most of his emotional fanboys to swallow. |
At the bolded, those that haven't kicked a ball in their entire life will still say shit. we have always reiterated the fact that serving & retired players and coaches consider Messi to be the best in history. Messi's Performance against English Teams in UCL Manchester United...4goals Manchester City........7goals Chelsea......................3goals Arsenal.......................9goals Liverpool....................2goals Tottenham.................2goals TOTAL....................27goals vs English Teams in 35 appearances!

Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole has insisted that Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Lionel Messi remains the greatest football player in history. Both Messi and Ronaldo scored vital goals for their respective clubs in the Champions League to hand them the assurance of making it out of the group stages of the competition. There has been an unending debate over who is the better player between the two greatest players of all time. Messi’s goal for Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday was his first since joining from Barcelona in the summer, curling an effort from outside the box into the top corner in PSG’s 2-0 win over Man City. And Cole, a former England international, had no doubts that the Argentina captain would succeed with PSG, adding that his latest piece of brilliance only confirmed that the Argentine is the greatest player on the planet, ahead of Ronaldo. “It was only a matter of time, it was a beautiful goal,” Cole told BT Sport of Messi’s strike. He was going to turn up in a big game against Man City. “You still get some people saying, ‘would he be able to do it in England?’ Well he’s scored goals against the best team in England at the moment. “What he does so well…to do that at that pace, he’s being leant on, and to get a nice connection and reverse it into the top corner is unbelievable “For me he’s still the greatest, still the best in the world, I’m just so excited to see what he can do with this PSG team.” https://dailypost.ng/2021/09/30/ucl-messi-vs-ronaldo-joe-cole-names-greatest-player-in-history/ |
constance500:Get this fact....EPL is not the standard to measure brilliant players. If you still think its the standard, why don't you start by telling me how FIFA World Best & Balon D'or winner the overrated league has produced and how many UCL & Europa League they have won compare to la liga? You should even be ashamed to label a league Zidane, Maradona, Ronaldo De Lima, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Messi & Figo, once played a farmers league. Messi's Performance against English Teams in UCL Manchester United...4goals Manchester City........7goals Chelsea......................3goals Arsenal.......................9goals Liverpool....................2goals Tottenham.................2goals TOTAL....................27goals vs English Teams in 35 appearances! If the best of best in the overrated EPL can't handle him, what do you think would happen to Burnley, Norwich, Brighton, Crystal palace and Newcastle?? I won't bother replying you next time cos your football knowledge is based by sentiment and not fact. Au revoire! |
constance500:Ahead despite playing 117 matches more with less than 10goals?? The bolded speaks volume about your knowledge of football. |
Kingcalls:This can't be more accurate than Skysports. |
Omeizadean:Pele & Maradona's comparison was not done on that basis so its flawed and hold little or no significance in this debate........it was simply created by his fans to measure up but like i said, its completely irrelevant. The next generation will be more concerned with who won more Balon D'or, European Golden Boot, Trophies and Awards. |
Omeizadean:I said i have never seen and even if they have, its doesn't happen frequently.......Thierry Henry, Wright, Hargreaves and a few others have all acted as pundits. |
lichocho:very loud mouth as if he had an impeccable playing career |
We love the use of that word CHELSEA LEGEND. The OP no lie at all. Mikel has been there done that! In terms of longevity, yes. It is astonishing how long he has been there at Chelsea before he left the club in 2017. The amount of commitment he showed towards the club is exemplary. He did not complain whenever he was on the bench, he was a very professional character and very respectful to various managers who have been at Chelsea Football Club. He may not be your typical player with lots of creativity but what he did at the time was put in a shift. We respect your contributions to Chelsea Football Club and thanks for the memories.
and Conte frustrated him for representing Nigeria at the Olympic.

phr0nesis:i forget that one sef...... Na only Giggs i never see dey talk shit |
Michael Jordan once said, “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.” |
7th Balon D'or loading

obembet:For those quoting me without understanding the screenshot.......Ronaldo played 117 matches more but leads with less than 10goals and you dare call him GOAT?
|
JohnnyPalmer:At the bolded, I was going to say the same thing. They talk too much........that was how Neville dragged Messi into a discussion that had absolutely nothing to do with him on Skysports the other day until Carragher shut his damn mouth up with valid points. They can't criticize Ole not just because he belongs to the old united boys but because it will expose their bias and stupidity towards Mourinho. |
Abeg, na who swear for Ex Man U players with criticism?? If Scholes is not ranting, Ferdinand will be blabbing or Neville who was fired as Valencia manager in less than 6months will be justifying rubbish on sky sports. The rate at which they criticize serving players and coaches, one would think they won the world cup. My point is, why is it peculiar to those that played for Man U especially the so called English guys? I have never seen Terry, Lampard, Gerard, Joe Cole, Ashley Cole and Tony Adams doing such and even if they have, not as frequent as these ex man u guys. Are they the only guys that played football? Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan & Bayern get legends too nau! |

Totilopussylick:Lara no jam people wey fine pass osho baba?? |
Bornsinner7:Ronaldo preeq no dey stay one place but he is definitely not foolish. Despite all his escapades, he decided to stick to this one........something dey up wey we no know!! |
Olarewajutv:If he loves her, he should go ahead and marry her. He is definitely not the first neither will he be the last man to go against their family's wishes. Prince Harry & Megan still dey alright.........He even relinquished his royalty for the woman he loves. If the mom had this kind of juicy offer, maybe she wouldn't have married her late husband. At the bolded, they look happy together and this niqqa is a success already........even if no be Georgina, na still him bread go lure another chic so I still don't get momsy's point. |
patrickmuf:and that's why he lost the UCL final to Chelsea with that rookie formation. |
Mangekyo:show am this!
