For those using LiFePO4 batteries,I have been doing my research on the battery as I am seriously considering migrating to it.If the bank has an inbuilt BMS,is there still any need to preset charging voltage on a charge controller if charging via solar? For the customised banks with BMS ,is it just plug and play or there are still monitoring to be done by the user

Simply put, the BMS manages the battery based on set limits, you need to modify your charging profile to avoid hitting the BMS set parameters abruptly

Am beggining to think, this deal still wouldnt fly again.unless we move fast. Most big suppliers are gradually closing shop /not accepting new orders as the chinese new year holiday comes close.

My fear is, the batteries not being able to leave china before the shutdown happens, and the batts get to sit till march.

I disagree, the internal resistance of a 2v 1000ah battery would be massive.

Imagine using a 0.5hp sumo pump to fill a 100,000 liter community water tank.... Do you think that pump will last 6months?

According to my knowledge
Charging large amount of batteries of higher amp will not cause any harm to the charger.
Charging 1000amp with a 30amp for example will only take a longer period of time to full charge if it sees regular supply of power supply without connecting load to it. Most connect load to it after few hours of charging, thereby depleting the already stored current.

Am current Charging 600amp with two chargers. But d client mostly discharge dem few hours later.

To get best results, charge without depletion
Wait till it full charges.

Not like charging a 1000AH with 20A, the charging process generate some level of heat on the components depending on the quality of the charger it may packup sooner than later. Imagine stepping on a car gas at max rpm and leaving there for long without any rest interval well.....

Is it advisable to switch to lithium?
What capacity of lithium is ideal?
Which other brand is available in market apart from Felicity that will not require breaking the bank.

I will always advice lithium a 250 to 300AH 48v is much more better equivalent. I know folks that sell coupled cells if you are interested, it's 500k for 100AH 48v those are actually capacity not the over declared Felicity

A friend uses 6 units of 2v 1000ah battery he got from another friend( telecoms people) with his 1.2kva mercury inverter with 20amp charging current.He has utility for 12hours daily average but complains his battery's rarely gets fully charged.He doesn't have issues with performance though but is just worried thinking the partial state of charge can kill the batteries. Any advice on this? Should he incorporate external charging?

Oga that inverter will soon packup because the charger is too small for that capacity. If his demand is within the 1.2kva requirement just get an external charger as an additional. Personally I don't think it's a good idea to get that much capacity for a 12v system but he has it anyway so that's the workaround

No quantity is prohibited but for bulk buying using alibaba is cheaper as AliExpress is mainly resellers . For easy import, using a Nigerian agent in China is best that is if ur not buying up to 20ft or 40ft . So they ship it as groupage .
The manufacturing company will call them and state ur quantity and they will in return give u a shipping quote for ur consideration.
Pls make sure u know how to scan alibaba to avoid buying inferior goods .

Please experts in the house,I am in a dilemma here.Exactly on May 15,2020 I bought 2 units of Luminous Battery 200 ah and hooked them up to 4 units of 260 watts Felicity panels with a 60amp PowMr charge controller .The inverter is also Luminouv 1.5kva Zelios inverter. Last week the Luminous inverter had issues and I swapped it with Icell 1.5kva 12 volts inverter.During the day I do not have issues as the battery is slway charged.[b]However I noticed that at night even with minimal load, the battery discharges fast even though there is utility light to support solar charging in the day.I dont want to believe the batteries are having issues already or is it because I used a 12volts inverter and had to parallel the two batteries?[/b]I am just confused because the batteries are just like 7 months and they have been connected to solar at set up. I never experienced this when I was using the Luminous inverter.

Please share your experience because its like these AGM batteries are no longer worth it!

So the 1.5kva was a 24v inverter right? You will observe X2 current discharge on the 12v 1kva inverter. However the battery juice will get exhausted almost at the same time on both inverter running same load

Actually the inverter devices save power much more than the regular ones under the same conditions.

The inverter freezer does not have surge current like the regular ones have. It starts at 80 watts and slowly ramps up to the wattage its logic control dictates depending on how cool the interior is sensed to be. I have used the 319 litres successfully on a 300 watts inverter and the latter didn't even groan under the load of the freezer.

The compressor is powered by a variable drive motor, which means it can increase to work like a 500 litres compressor to speed up cooling and it can also slow down to work like an 80 litres freezer once good interior temperature has been achieved. The consumption reduces once it senses that adequate cooling has been achieved. The reduction can be as much as half the consumption of regular counterpart devices. This is also the way the inverter AC, inverter washing machine and inverter microwave works.

When all these energy saving scenarios are achieved and added up, it beats the regular devices hands down.

What I would have loved is for the freezer to have some degree of user adjustable settings like the inverter ACs have. That way, you can ramp down the compressor speed as you desire to accommodate your battery storage capacity, of course at the compromise of cooling rate and speed.

A work around could be to set a higher temperature eg -5 degree and ofcourse don't use turbo
