I asked for the ladies in the house to help me out with advice because I feel they would know better in such a situation. Men who may have ideas can also contribute.

I will try and be short as possible. My sis turns 28 this year. She has been down emotionally for some time now and she is very close to me and it has made me down too.

My sis has been dating this guy for about two years now, the guy is 28/29 years I think. She got pregnant for this guy about a year ago, the guy was not ready for marriage and they decided to abort it. Along the line she wanted to keep the baby though, but a medical condition stopped her from keeping the baby. The doctor said the baby was growing outside the womb with complications and an operation to abort the pregnancy was needed even if she didn't want an abortion in the first place. Two other hospitals confirmed this through scan.

Also, another shocking revelation was discovered, the doctor said she has a medical issue which would make it kind of difficult for her to conceive easily, that she needs a man with a very very high sperm count for her to take in and the chances are slim because just about 1% of men have such rare high sperm count. This meant the guy she is dating has the rare high sperm count and she attested to this because she said of the previous 2 guys she has dated before him, they at some time engaged in sex without protection and she never had taken in before, but as for this guy in question the very first time they had unprotected sex she took in for him. She didn't reveal what the doctor told her to her guy though. Just her and myself know about her medical condition. The doctor even suggested she sticks to her guy because there is slim possibility of finding another man with such high sperm count. The doctor even asked that guy enrol for sperm donation in fertility clinics as his type of sperm count is in high demand and rare. The guy doesn't stay in the same city with her so he couldn't be around during the abortion process and the doctor couldn't tell him any of these revelations.


After the abortion she and the guy have still been dating, although they don't stay in the same city. She said they guy loves her but he is not directly clear about wanting to marry her anytime soon. This dude is the tall and very handsome type and I sometime see him as a playboy because he gets a lot of attention from ladies but my sister says she has never seen any red flag to suspect he has ever cheated on her and he respects and cares for her like a responsible man. I presume the guy still being young for a man(28/29 years) and very handsome doesn't feel its right time to get married but its not the case for my sister as she is turning 28 years soon. For what I know between her and the guy, they love each other deeply but the dude is just not ready yet to get married, both of them are working but the dude isn't too comfortable yet, but at least comfortable enough to get married if he is serious. The dude isn't just saying anything about settling down at all!

Now here are the questions I need to ask the ladies in the house to help me;

1-Should my sister tell the dude everything? Would this make him more emotional towards her and consider marrying her soon or he would feel he is doing my sister a favour in marrying her?

2-Should my sister consider breaking off with him and giving a chance to other serious suitors? She is very beautiful and has a job and men keep asking her hand in marriage everyday. Remember the doctor said her medical condition makes it hard for her to conceive and needs a man with very high sperm count, can she find a man with that rare high sperm count in the other men asking her hand in marriage? The doctor said just about 1% of men have such and if you do the maths the possibility of finding another man with such is very low in probability.

3- Should she try to make the guy get her pregnant again and based on the fact she has had an abortion before for him he would not have the guts to request she aborts it again and would be forced to make marriage plans? Ever since she had the abortion about a year ago the guy and her have become very strict towards unprotected sex, she says they don't even make the mistake to try it again. But we know as a lady she can have her way with him if she really wants to get pregnant. Mind you she may get pregnant but it would not be that easy from my family side because my dad has said he would not give his blessings to any of his daughters who gets pregnant before wedlock.

4-Married ladies, is there a way a woman can smartly make a man consider marrying her faster? Are they any tricks to making a man more eager to marrying you or are there proven ways to push a man who has cold feet towards getting married? Please has any lady been in such a situation before and know what to act accordingly? Please help a sister out.

Ever since the end of the Nigeria-Biafra war and the resuscitation of the Biafra dream by Chief Ralph Uwazurike and his Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), the Biafra agitation has, perhaps, not been as strident as it is now. Many attribute the resurgence to the emergence of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Though the formation or leadership of IPOB has been mired in controversy, Nnamdi Kanu, the Radio Biafra director, has given the agitation a lot of punch, especially since his incarceration and ongoing trial for treasonable felony.

For many Nigerians, the agitation is needless, as they feel Nigeria is big enough for everyone. That, exactly, is the belief of yours sincerely, as repeatedly expressed here. The Biafra agitators, however, disagree, saying their decision to opt out of Nigeria was an unavoidable choice due to several years of neglect and deliberate marginalisation. The Biafra hopefuls postulate that those that are too hasty in condemning their quest for self-determination lack understanding simply because they do not feel the pinch since they do not wear the shoe.

Of course, virtually every section of the country cries of marginalisation, much of which is a ruse to mask the hurt of a people so glaringly marked for mistreatment. However, I stumbled upon this anonymous exchange between a Biafra agitator and his Yoruba friend and I feel this can go a long way in proffering a solution to the ills of our crumbling monolith, Nigeria.

Yoruba: Under what conditions would you support “One Nigeria” and let go of the Biafra agitation and let it die down, finally laid to rest for good?

Biafra agitator: Close down Lagos ports and open up Port Harcourt, Calabar, Onitsha and Warri ports.

• Cancel all direct and major connecting flights to Lagos and Abuja airports, allowing only local connecting flights. While this is being done, open up Enugu, Owerri, Asaba, Uyo and Port Harcourt to direct international and major connecting flights.

• Ask all international and diplomatic missions to move their embassies and consulates from Lagos, Kano and Abuja to Enugu, Port Harcourt and Calabar.

• All Federal Government agencies in Lagos and Abuja shall be relocated to Enugu, Port Harcourt and Calabar. Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), etc., shall and must relocate to Port Harcourt, Calabar and Enugu.
• All multinational companies in Lagos and Abuja, shall and must relocate their offices to Port Harcourt, Calabar and Enugu.
• All oil companies must relocate their head offices to Port Harcourt, as the oil capital of Nigeria.
• Let the northern children gain admission into federal schools with 300 score points while the South-East children should gain admission with only 20 score points.
• Let all federal road projects in the North/South-West be handled by one local company and the one in the South-East/South-South be handled by Julius Berger and foreign construction companies.
If these conditions can be fulfilled and implemented for 50 years, we can try one Nigeria and let’s see if you the North and South-West will like it for a month…

• Also, Yoruba and Hausa needing to get international visas shall travel to Port Harcourt, Calabar or Enugu to do that. Same with flying or connecting flights; with shipping and importing their goods, etc.

Of a truth, the foregoing may not totally reflect the entire story but it certainly exposes how injustice has led us to where we are today. A truly united Nigeria must redress these ills. Instead, by shutting out the South-East from this government, Nigerian leaders have brazenly told the South-East to go to hell and, to them, Biafra is the ‘hell’ they are willing to go to. Strangely, the same people pushing the people out are intent on keeping them on a leash by force. That is most unfair, a prelude to anarchy.

Take the admission policy into Nigeria’s erroneously named unity schools, where everything points to disunity. Anambra and Imo states students, for instance, must score 139 and 138 per cent respectively to be considered for admission, whereas students from Zamfara and Taraba states require as low as 3 per cent to be admitted into the same school. This political contrivance is only meant to favour the North, dubiously tagged educationally disadvantaged. In other words, no matter how herdsman the brain of the northern student, he is guaranteed admission. Today, they are still saying education is evil (boko haram) and busy destroying everything and everyone while the rest of Nigeria, especially Igboland, bears the brunt of this madness.

For some of us, moderates, Biafra may not be the ultimate dream. However, it behooves Nigerian authorities to do the needful to kill the agitation, which they deliberately neglect to do. To keep Nigeria truly one, the country must be redesigned on the foundation of equity and fairness; it must not pander to the caprices of a particular section that is intent on keeping others down, as no force of arms can cow a determined people for too long.

It is worth reminding Nigeria, too, that Scotland is again pressing for another plebiscite to decide whether to remain in Britain or not and nobody has been killed or jailed for making this demand.

The question is how many people want to go to Africa in the first place? You think this is Monaco we are talking about? You think you can just convince some businesses to come to your country simply because you are "hosting a world class event?" You must have never worked in the corporate world before have you? cos if you have you would know that corporations don't like to waste there money until they know its a sure thing. You don't spend money on a trip to Africa unless you are at an advanced stage of talks to close a deal or something along those lines. Show me how many companies will be willing to let there staff just fly to some far flung corner of the globe on an all expenses paid trip without first knowing about the place? Not only are they going to missing out on work but they are going to be on the hook if anything bad happens to him.

This is a 'get to know you' kind of summit. A networking kind of thing like a career fair where a company comes to campus to sell themselves to students and to possibly conduct interviews on site. If they like You they can then fly you out to there facility for another round of interviews type stuff.

If this where done in Africa maybe one or two big companies might be willing to send one or two employees there on a meet and greet but I can tell you that majority of the smaller to midsize companies won't. Besides who wants to fly to Addis Ababa? This is not Paris we are talking about?

Chinyere is a nice, lovely lady, a B.Sc. degree holder. She is calm and gentle and beautiful in many ways. She is a mother of 4 children and 4 months pregnant with the 5th. She is a strong christian and active member of her church. Her husband is neither here nor there. He is a Christian, but everything he does seems to come right from the devil's warehouse. He beats his wife at random and then heads to church to pray.

Like some Nigerian men, he manipulates all the gods. When he likes, he is a traditionalist relying on the customs of his people. At other times, he is a Christian quoting from the bible, particular the part that keeps women submissive. And finally, when neither the customs nor the Bible could help him, he ran to the Sharia.

This lady met with me today in Abuja in preparation for her ordeal in the Sharia Court next week. The man is actually asking the Sharia to assist him in getting separation from his wife for 6 months. Since she is 4-months pregnant, we seem to understand what he wants. He does't want to be bothered with her pregnancy headaches or costs. He wants to receive the baby only after he has confirmed it is a boy.

The lady gave me a list of woes she has encountered in the hands of this man. The latest is the fact that despite her Christian faith, the man secretly converted her to Islam.

I had a number of options and suggestion to make to this woman. I wanted to advise her to divorce the man outright rather than face the Sharia. But I remembered that many of the people in this group have insisted that God hates divorce. By implication, they are of the view that this woman should rather go with her husband to their new religion rather than divorce him. (By the way, all those in this group who insist that God hates it for this woman to divorce this man, raise your hands because I am about to advise her to divorce him).

Anyway, all effort is being made to protect this woman against all odds. Her greatest concern is her children. She doesn't want to be separated from her children. She has suffered so much in the hands of this man that she doesn't care about him any more. It is just her children. So, we are going to make sure that whatever happens, she will be with her children.
