Christianity Etc › Re: How I Started Praying/speaking In Tongues. (my Experience) by ojodombe(m): 2:08pm On Jul 14, 2024 |
David0002: I really thank God for giving me the gift of speaking in tongues, ever since then, my prayer life has changed. Now I can pray for 3 hours, 4 hours without getting tired.
I still remember 31st of may, 2024. It is a day I will never forget. I didn't even dream that I will ever speak in tongues, I never prayed about it, infact I was not expecting it.
Let me tell you you truth, initially, I hated the idea of praying in tongues, I thought it was not possible, I thought it was scam, I thought that people were just speaking anything that comes out of their mouth. It was because I have prayed earnestly for it before that God should give me this gift and enable me to pray in tongues, but I didn't see it forth-coming. I prayed seriously for it, read books that dealth on Holy Ghost baptism, exercised my faith, opened my mouth for God to fill it, yet nothing happened, so I gave up the idea and stopped praying about it. But little did I know that God heard the prayer and was waiting for the appointed time to bring it to manifestation.
On that day, I was hungry to just praise and worship God and nothing more. Once it was 4.pm in the evening, I started with praise. I praised God for a very long time.
After I was true with praise, I entered into deep worship song. I worship God with songs with all my heart for a very long time.
When I was true with worshipping God with songs, I entered into a prayer of praise and. I began to call God sweet names, I was calling Him by His attributes praising and and worshipping Him. Then I became tired. I decided to sit down because I have been standing for over one hour.
As I sat down, I felt a sensation in my body, from that moment, I knew in my spirit that something was about to happen, and it happened.
Immediately something began to move from my body, immediately, it came to my mouth. Before I knew it, my mouth opened, I started to speak in tongues or pray in tongues. It was so powerful. It was like rivers of living water flowing out of my belly.
For almost 45 minutes, I was praying in tongues as the Holy Spirit gave me utterance. It was so great. It was lovely. It was so much that it didn't want to stop. It was like borehole water that doesn't finish, infact I have to force myself to stop it.
After that encounter, my prayer life has never remained the same. I can now pray for longer hours like 3 hours, 4 hours without getting tired. Before I received the gift of tongues, I could only pray for 30 minutes to 1 hour before getting tired or running out of words.
It has reached to the extent of whenever I want to pray but don't know what to pray, I will pray a simple prayer and tell God that I want to pray in tongues that the Holy Spirit should possess my lips, and that the Holy Spirit should pray through me. Immediately, my lips will open and I will start praying in tongues. God is alive, and He answers prayer. My prayer life have changed since then. Infact I am addicted to prayer. It is burning inside of me. Any day that passes without me praying is like I want to die. I can't survive without prayer.
My fellow pastor, evangelist, brother, sister, desire this gift of praying in tongues. It is more powerful and effective than praying with your understanding. By praying in tongues, you don't know what you are praying. But in the spirit, you are speaking mysteries. As you are praying in tongues, God can use your prayer and heal someone in China. Your prayer can travel to India, Japan, U.S.A, London, even to your village etc and lose someone in bondage.
I plead with you, desire this gift more than anything else. Remember, prayer is a powerful weapon. With it, you can touch anybody around the world right on your knees.
Good morning and have a pleasant day.
Happy Sunday. Except if prayer is your vocation, go and find something meaningful and do for yourself. If you can commit this 3 to 4 hours daily to a particular skill, I bet you in less than 3 years, you will help atleast ten persons and reduce crime in this country. |

David0002: In the bible, speaking in tongues started on the day of pentecost, when the disciples of Jesus or the apostles were baptized with the Holy Ghost. They were speaking in the other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. You can find it in Acts chapter 2. Read it yourself. Is it the same type of tongue that's is in place now among our so called pastors. Why can't we call a spade a spade. The tongue then was language not blabbing I come in peace |

Greattestman: This issue has been eating me up for so long and i don't know what to do. My mother began pressurizing me to rent my own house and leave her alone.
It was unprecedented and i don't expect that from her. I'm barely 20 and I teach in a private school. I also do home lessons so my monthly income ranges from 25k to 30k or thereabout.
This money will not be enough for me to rent a house, buy my food and take care of myself. I have tried to explain but she refused to understand with me. She told her friends to advice me to leave; that I'm matured enough to live alone.
I'm pressed and I need your advice. Bro, most times men need to be pushed before they can move. Why not try living alone and see how it goes. Live within your reach. You must not rent flat nor self-con. A room apartment is a good start. With that you will see motivation to move on. The Lord is your strength. |

Softboy001: ....life has been difficult to say the least, ever since I moved to lagos after finishing my nysc in March, I thought hoped things will be better but it only became... Well let's leave that. I just want advice, that's why I am here.am currently squatting with my elder brother and his fiance in a room and palor self con. They are getting married by December. I have alot of burden to them, they don't need to tell me I know. But what will a man do. I forgot to add am 27 years old. I studied mechanical engineering (HND). My hands are really tied right now. I left a crazy job(30k/months) that I was using to sustain my self. Don't judge me, am not lazy. I left because of security reasons. Plus It was a slave kind of work. Presently am hooked. I don't know where and what to do. I currently don't have up to 5k in my account self. As I no gree do yahoo aka jazz. Na wetin my eyes dey see be this.
...any way my gist is getting to long. There is an man that has always been a father to me. He helped me through school. I really thank him. As in he has done alot. The man just like me for no reason.and has been helping me since I was young. Anyway he called me and then after explaining to him how things has been for him.
He called again after a month. He said he has a deal for me.
The deal is that, he wants to sponsor me to go to canada. I forgot to add, he stays in Austria. Him and his family. So the deal is about 2.5 million naira, so he said he going to work everything for me that includes international passport, visa, airplane ticket, accommodation and also the package includes work also. but the deal is that. He will pay about. 850k. To get me there first. Then when am there and have started working I'll pay 1.8 million to the agency $4k.
So that's the deal. The 850k he is just using that to help me.actually he himself he paying 650k to the agency and giving me 200k as pocket money. Then when I get there I can work and give the agency the remaining 1.85 million.
So please guys, what to do you think. My fears is going to a country I don't know anyone at all, there is so much risk involved canada far o and will I be able to pay up the money. I don't want to owe gbese that I can't pay back.
What do you guys think? Should I go ahead? Or remain in naija?
I have so much fears, that's why am scared of going, what if I go broke?
I have from now till Monday to decide, the processing is starting on Monday If I heard well that work is inclusive, what are u waiting for. Even in Nigeria you are taking risks. So go and take the risk too. Life itself is a risk |

Godwinfury: First let me ask you a question, and I want sincere answers. Question 1: Do you still "love" her, cos what I saw in your opening speech was a past tense. Question 2: Are you willing to settle with her? Question 3: what you currently feel for her, is it true love or sympathy? Question 4: Are you willing to take the boy(her son) under your wings without feeling partial when it comes to a dealing between you kids and him? Question 5: Are/Will your parents be in agreement with your decision to have a single mother (pardon that) as your wife? 1. Yes I still love her 2. Yes now and that is why I brought this issue here 3. True love not sympathy at all. 4. Sure 5. Can't speak for my parents because I want conclude some preliminaries before relating it with my parents. My mother loved her so much when we were "dating". |

Romance › Should I Still Marry This My Ex? by ojodombe(op): 2:10pm On Feb 02, 2018 |
I had a friend who I loved so much. It was my sincere determination that I will marry her after graduation. Though I did not tell her openly that I wanted to marry her because I was afraid that should I tell her she might mismanage herself for the fact that she had been engaged. She knew quite well that I don't break/fail promises. She loved me so much then, but her change in character started when she got admission. I was in school then too about to graduate. One thing I know was that I tried my best showing her that I will marry her when things gets better through my body languages and indirect speech which I supposed she would have understood.
One faithful morning she called me telling me that somebody will be coming to her house and that she will be glad if I should come around to see the person. My spirits had never deceived me, I concluded that this girl was about getting married. Lo and behold that was it. Enveloped with guise pimple I didn't know how to tell her I will honour the invitation or object. But I concluded that I will not honour it though I didn't tell her. My absence pained her too because she called me weeks later, thanking me for not honouring her invitation. A sign that she was not happy. To my greatest surprise I was planning on what next to do little did I know that she was pregnant already for the said guy. Few months later she called me telling me that her husband had an accident and died. I consoled her to the best of my ability. She delivered a baby boy two months after the husband's death.
Now, the boy is living with her parents grown and has started bursary schoool and she is not married again I guess. And she is ready to remarry in my own assessment because she has started showing me her brake light again knowing full well that I want to marry. I loved this girl but I don't know whether to propose to her as I now want to marry. My confusion is something like after math, whether this girl will still have feeling to her dead husband which may bring jeopardy to our family.
Nairalanders, please help a fellow who is confused. Admin can u help me move this to front page for suggestions on what I should do? |
