That more worrisome is the fact that this action was carried out just a few days after the passage of The Property Protection law of Lagos State and it is believed that Mrs. Rashidah carried the heinous act to test the resolve of Lagos State Government. 9.Let us mention that Alhaji Adebayo also did not meet any complainant nor was he interviewed by any Senior officer at Area ‘H’ command, there was also no option for the parties to settle as was usually the practice of the police, their mind was made up and our client was sent to court and ikoyi prison based on the one sided story of Madam Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola whom our client still did not meet till date. 10. The matter have been called at Magistrate Court 3, Yaba more than four (4) times without the attendance of Madam Rashidah Adedoyin Adekola showing that she fabricated the story leading to the arrest just to remove our client from the scene for her to carry out her heinous, illegal and reprehensible act of taken over a residential property by force of arm and use of recidivist. 10.That we seriously suspect that the Area Commander of Area H command had a force knowledge ofw above stated crime that why he took away Alhaji Adebayo. 11.That all our clients are now homeless because of the illegal eviction and have lost their livelong saving and property to theft and the rest destroyed by rain because of the action of Madam Rashidah Adedoyin Adekola and her touts. We have the instruction of our client to request and we hereby that your officer take over the investigation of this high level criminality, unlawful eviction and taken over of property by force, burglary, stealing, looting. Permit us to add that while this incident was happening our client made several call and reported the incident at near by police station who refused to answer to call but only came after a call was made to Rapid Response Squad(RRS) but when they arrive they only joked with the thugs and went away. We have faith that we will get just from your office at seeing that this illegality is redressed. Yours Faithfully SALUS POPULI CHAMBERS ROBERT IGBINEDION ESQ.

The Association of Resident Doctors at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, (ARD-UBTH) has resolved to join the nationwide strike of resident doctors as directed by its national body, National Association of Resident Doctors which commences Monday, January 2nd 2017. In a statement, the ARD President of UBTH, Dr. Eustace Oseghale decried the series of missed opportunities to resolve lingering issues at the National Level with the perennial refusal of government through its officials manning various relevant organs to implement various agreements reached with the Federal Government. “Rather than seek a harmonious relationship, these officials have continually shown a high level of insincerity coupled their seeming determination to totally desiccate the cadre of resident doctors as even in their deprived state; with poor financing of their training and marked inconsistencies in their emoluments, selective implementation of punitive policies have been meted out to them.” According to the association, after a long drawn period of negotiations and engagements (spanning over two years) with government officials and stakeholders including the Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara, have had to reluctantly issue a 21-day Ultimatum which elapses on the 2nd of January 2017. “One issue of concern is the long clamour by the Resident doctors to be enrolled into IPPIS platform in order to curb the excessive leakages of funds in the health care sector; one therefore wonders why some agents of government are sabotaging this germane proposal by resident doctors. “There have also been inconsistencies in interpretations and follow up on circulars from government in the health sector. The agreements reached with the honourable speaker of the House of Representatives to find a lasting solution to the crisis in the health sector have not been adhered to. “The template on residency training which was painstakingly prepared by seasoned health administrators have been left to rot even with the realization that this is one thing that can put a halt to agitations in our health institutions as NARD has made several representations while appealing for its release and implementation but to no avail,” Oseghale said. He said, the circular for the entry point for house officers is still one issue that has been left unattended to despite several promises from the relevant stake holders. “Many a resident doctor in Nigeria have not had salaries for several months but rather have been bombarded with tall tales of shortfalls in salary envelopes with the resultant untoward hardship our members have had to endure; one is left to wonder why salary envelope exhaustion appears to be peculiar to the health sector. “Then facilities in the health sector are on the decline currently no radiotherapy machine is functioning in our dear country.” Read more at: https://dailytimes.ng/ubth-doctors-begin-indefinite-strike-action-monday/

There seems to be no end in sight to the industrial action embarked upon by resident doctors at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). The hospital, which caters for patients from Edo, Delta and Ondo states, has been on lockdown since August 5, 2016, when the Association of Resident Doctors, ARD, UBTH Chapter announced that they were going on indefinite strike following a breakdown of negotiations with the hospital authorities over issues surrounding allowances and the management of the hospital. Sunday Vanguard gathered that the doctors are demanding, among other things, proper equipping of the hospital, reduction in the charges paid by patients, and transparency in the running of the facility. It was also gathered that the doctors accused the hospital management of high-handedness and laxity. However, the management insisted that they have done all that was required of them and see no reason the resident doctors should still be on strike. While the face-off lingers, patients at the hospital bear the burden. Presently, medical services are rendered by the few consultants who cannot cope with the number of patients in the wards. The wards of the hospital, once ranked among the best Federal Tertiary Health Institutions (FTHI) in the country, have been deserted. The few patients left on admission have virtually been abandoned. They are helpless and hopeless. A patient, who gave her name as Esther, said she had waited endlessly to be attended to. “Only the nurses come to look after us. The doctors that come are few and their ward rounds don’t cover all of us, “she said. This development has led to many deaths since the strike began. Among the dead is one Margaret Edobor, a fire victim admitted at the hospital a month before the industrial action commenced. According to her brother, Mr. Sunday Ogbewe, the patient was already responding to treatment before the strike started. In Benin city, Edo State some interest groups and stakeholders have uncovered the real reason behind the blatant disregard for the welfare of Staff and Patients in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) . Sources close to the Management, notoriously led by Professor Micheal Okoeguale Ibadin, have informed our reporters that the anarchy and disruption of services sequel to the willful denial of due benefits to staff has been masterminded by the aforementioned chief Executive of the hospital and some PDP chieftains in order to bring the Government of President Mohammadu Buhari as well the HonoUrable Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Folurusho Adewole to Ridicule. This explains the obvious disregard of appeals from the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders to the Management of the hospital to implement Government policies and agreements in the hospital to no avail. Officials at the Ministry of Finance and even the supervisory ministry of health recently revealed that the Management had unilaterally decided against budgeting and even appropriating due benefits for its staff even after the latitude had been provided for the institution. It is even more scandalous that the hospital's Management has been briefed by the Ministries of the availability of more slots for employment into the hospital and the attendant increase in the allocation; the management of the hospital was said to have turned deaf ears to the advice and instead insisted on continual erosion of the staff strength to its current size which unfortunately is the barest minimum that can offer some semblance of service to Innocent Nigerians. It's of note that since the inception of the Buhari Administration, the hospital Management has grown increasingly hostile to unions in the hospital with the their demands for better welfare of their members regarded as "waste of Time" by the management with the resultant increase in rife in the institution. Recently, the Chief Executive Prof M.O Ibadin barred Union Executives from Seeking Audience with him all in a bid to create an atmosphere of animosity and mutual suspicion. These set of events may not be unconnected with the huge sums of Hospital Funds reportedly committed to the last General Elections in order to Perpetrate the then "Status Quo.” While boasting that his Godfather is Chief Tony Anenih who is also his Uromi Kinsman, Ibadin said he is untouchable as he has the whole of PDP behind him including the support of the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu. Ibadin has even been quoted saying at different Fora that " You know this is not our Government, so anything you see take it". The hospital Management had earlier led a campaign of calumny against the present federal Government accusing it of favouring some Federal Hospitals while depriving others like UBTH. This was supposedly to explain its inability to implement same welfare packages to its staff as obtained in other Federal Tertiary Health Institutions.. It is saddening that because of Partisan Politics and in a desperate bid to undermine the Government of Change, some individuals in position of Authority have been toying with lives of Nigerians and have purposely debased the welfare of staff rather than protect and guarantee it. To say therefore that an immediate CHANGE is needed in UBTH is an understatement.

Can you mention some of the wonderful things he has done? Just to pray for you too, may God rule over your life the way Ibadin has ruled UBTH as administrator. AMEN. GyemNgas: |
DozieInc:SEE WHAT KIND OF FOOD THEY GIVE TO DOCTORS AT UBTH https://www.nairaland.com/3382551/massive-infrastructural-decay-university-benin#49833024 |
"See The Food Served To University Of Benin Teaching Hospital Doctors" - Okenikpoto It is with a heavy heart that we intend to draw the attention of the world to the massive infrastructural decay in the once highly esteemed University of Benin Teaching Hospital Benin city Edo state. The citadel of health care, training and research is now a shadow of itself. It is of grave concern that in our country Nigeria we allow poor management bring the labours of our heroes past to waste, this is the case of the Stem cell transplant centre in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. The intention of this facility was to bring smiles to the families with sickle cell patients as patients with sickle cell can come here and have their stem cells replaced in clearer terms after some treatment here they are no longer sicklers. University of Benin Teaching Hospital stem cell centre was the place where this could be done in West Africa but the story is different today as the hospital management have allowed this facility to rust and waste. Our people are once again globetrotting for care for their loved ones with sickle cell, also specialist man power that was trained in this field with tax payers money are left to do very basic things as their specialist skill is not been tapped. The situation is about same in the department of Radiotherapy as the radiotherapy machine which the government of Nigeria spent fortune on take of Nigerians from several states no longer functions, our people have to be referred far and wide for such care. The Accident and Emergency department of the hospital which was initially world class to carter for Nigerians especially travelling ones Benin where it is located been a transit town is currently operating below a standard primary health care centre. For specialists in emergency care they are available in the A and E though poorly catered for by the hospital management but they hardly have what to work with, glucometers are not present to check sugar level, instruments to measure blood pressure are faulty and the pharmacy lacks drugs and intravenous fluids. Patients and their relatives have to cross the road to get drugs and hospital consumables. Materials for advanced care is a no go area. Several lives which could have been saved in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Accident and Emergency are lost daily. Nurses, pharmacists, doctors and other health care workers in UBTH are leaving the hospital monthly, for several reasons which include, 1, Job satisfaction - some health professionals are not able to stand the decay going on in the hospital, a situation where a life that could have been saved is lost. 2 , poor welfare and remuneration - UBTH staff are always been owed salaries, this is saddening as federal government provides these monies. It is a high time the general public and we'll meaning Nigerians stop the rot and decay in UBTH, the management should be called to order so the families with sicklers can smile, so the cancer patient does not die, so the accident victim will survive and Nigeria reduces the cost it spends on medical tourism. The pictures I will post along this article will show you the food that UBTH management serves their doctors who are on call. Look at the conditions of our call rooms and understand why we are on strike. The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Micheal Ibadin is bent on killing the UBTH and we will not allow it.

UBTH Discrimination against Pregnant women. …..denies staff who are pregnant benefits, allowances Any female staff of the University Of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) who gets pregnant has to either quit the job or keep working until they deliver. That is the directive that has been in place since the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Michael Ibadin, took charge of the Federal Tertiary Health Institution seven years ago. According to the female workers at the hospital who raised their concerns about the trend, they have been working under very cruel conditions when they are pregnant that so many of the expectant staff have opted to carry their pregnancies to course while still on the job. “We have been living under hell since Ibadin took over as CMD. Once you are pregnant it is either you work till you are about to deliver or take a maternity leave and not get paid,” a nurse who gave her name as Odion said. With the influence wielded by the CMD the staff has remained quiet about their working conditions which go against the efforts by the United Nations Human Rights Commission to ratify the convention on the elimination of all of forms of discrimination against women. According to the some of the staff, who pleaded for anonymity in order to safeguard their jobs, since the Ibadin-led management took office women are asked during job application interviews if they are pregnant and warned not to get pregnant if they are to enjoy job security. For pregnant women who come for job interviews, they are told outright on application that they cannot get a position in the hospital. “This is not even veiled with any form of propriety or decorum. This is even buttressed by the fact that women are asked out rightly if they are pregnant at discussions and warned not to if they are to get in,” one nurse said. For those who have employment with the hospital, when they get pregnant they are deprived of allowances such as Call duty when they are on Maternity leave, this is at variance with the provisions of the law on benefits that should accrue to them. Subsequently some female staff work almost to the hour of delivery to avoid losing out on the much needed benefits. “It has gotten worse since the economy recession started. We now see our expectant colleagues struggling to work even when they are nine months pregnant. On some occasions we have had to deliver them right here in the world. It is not fair the way we are being treated. It is not a sin for a woman to be pregnant. It is so mean that a man is doing this to us; I don’t think if the CMD is a woman he will give this type of directive,” Odion said. A recent incident involved a female doctor who, out of fear, insisted on working through her nine months of pregnancy and delivered on a night she was on duty and even insisted on resuming a few weeks after parturition just to forestall deductions from her emoluments on the premise and directive of the chief executive of the hospital. This situation has led to a situation where female staff of the hospital who are nursing mothers are no longer able to comply with the Exclusive breastfeeding regimen as prescribed for babies to enhance mother -child bonding while ensuring nutrition and health of the baby. “The observations are far from surprising considering the fact that the current Chief Medical Director of the hospital was renowned for threatening students on the "dangers" of pregnancy and how it would lead to their failure in examinations especially the clinical where he was examiner and holds the knife and the yam,” a doctor at UBTH said. When contacted, Prof. Ibadin known for his pro- stance for government implementing the “No Work No Pay,” refused to comment on the issue. It seems he may have started implementing the “No Work No Pay” the policy before it even becomes law with his belief it will help end impunity in the civil service sector in Nigeria. With almost every department in the hospital on strike under his tenure, Ibadin said in March that the reason the strike action continues is because government was yet to implement the policy. “This impunity you are witnessing has to do with the fact that government has not been able to implement no work, no pay. If government implements no work, no pay, no worker will go on strike,” he said.

As far as Onome is concerned Pastor Benjamin is a Man of God and has the calling. He is their shepherd, their pastor, spiritual leader and to him they look up to for guidance through the path of righteousness. She believes he knows the word and gives messages of hope, prosperity and deliverance from enemies and bondage. Many members of his ministry, The Maximum Inheritance Deliverance Church, have witnessed miracles that changed their lives, which are testimonies to his awesome power. Onome has seen peasants who, few years ago, were nobodies in the society, now driving Mercedes Benz cars and SUVs. Though many of the cars are Tokunbo vehicles, if you know what it means to jump Danfo buses whose conductors have smelly armpit and talk loudly in a manner that rains spittle on your face from Orile to Apapa every day in public transport through the harsh city of Lagos, then you will appreciate the goodness of God you are blessed with a second hand vehicle from Belgium or Germany through Pastor Benjamin’s prayers. Pastor Benjamin is the General Overseer of his church and they call him Daddy G.O. He has the power to cast out demons that pull people down, whether ancestral spirits that follow families from generation to generation or attacks sent by the enemies, Daddy G.O has set the captives free through his deliverance services; he breaks curses and replaces them with blessings. His army of deliverance ministers, soldiers of Maximum Inheritance will cast even legions of demons away. Pastor is a handsome man and looks good because a Son of God who created the world through his words should not lack. ‘My Jesus is not a poor man,’ he tells his members, ‘He dresses in the most expensive satin material from Arabia. Jesus wears perfumes with the best fragrance. That is why Mary Magdalene offered her best cologne to my Lord to the envy of Judas Iscariot.’ Daddy G.O is a super dresser; his suits are from the best designers in Italy. Like this Sunday, for instance, he is putting on a cream-coloured Armani suit on a sky-blue Calvin Klein shirt. His blue TM Lewin tie matches the Gucci shoes Brother Kunle, the state commissioner for finance, bought for him during his last vacation in Las Vegas. Soft hymns coming from the pianist was the only sound that could be heard when Pastor started his prophetic blessings service. The melody acts like the soundtrack to the messages he delivers. All eyes were shut except that of Onome, because, although she did casually close them during praise and worship, she couldn’t resist the feeling at every moment to watch her pastor closely. He held tightly to the wireless microphone with his left hand and raised the other hand up. Onome’s eyes caught the 24 Karat gold Rolex watch Chief Ibru, Chairman of the Men’s Fellowship, gave him as a birthday gift. Chief Ibru has a special seat in front of the podium. He is a self-acclaimed business man with no specific area of business. Onome knows he is a scammer, a political Godfather to many of the ruling party thugs; he is also into oil bunkering and controls the kidnapping syndicate in the Niger Delta. But the congregation all stretch their hands and pray for God’s blessings on his life anytime he makes a big donation for any ongoing church project. Daddy G.O knows he is a criminal, the church knows he was indicted by the government committee that investigated the failed banks loans, the Men’s Fellowship know about the many scandals his name was associated with but in the sanctuary of Maximum Inheritance Church, Chief Ibru is a pillar in the ministry. His regular tithes and offering help in paying many of the church workers and he just bought the brand new Seiko music band for the choir for the annual Holy Ghost Congress being held. ‘Yes Lord, Yes Father, Yes,’ Daddy G.O started saying in a whisper which was echoed through the auditorium from the heavy speakers mounted at strategic positions around the church. ‘Somebody came here tonight with a heavy problem. You are asking the Lord why me. Today, because you stepped into this arena, it is over.’ ‘Amen!’ The congregation responded. ‘Receive that breakthrough, that contract that you have been toiling for since January. Receive that visa you are looking for at the embassy where they keep giving you one excuse after another why they reject your applications. In the name of my Lord Jesus receive that Visa to go to America and London.’ ‘Amen!’ ‘Yes Lord… I hear you my Father. The Holy Spirit is telling me that He is moving around this hall now. The Lord is here to give, only be in the spirit and prepare to receive. I see a man and a woman in this congregation being given keys to a new SUV...’ The response this time was thunderous and the people, with eyes closed, lips moving, arms outstretched and legs kicking, started praying to become that man or woman to drive a new car. “Raise your hands and be ready for the anointing because the Holy Spirit is flying all over this sanctuary. Receive that husband; that fair complexioned successful business man the Lord has been showing you in your dream…” Now it was the ladies that cried out the most. Daddy G.O then blew air loudly into the microphone, the sound was amplified by the speakers, reverberating all over the hall and many people in the congregation starting jumping, staggering and falling over plastic white seats arranged in rows in front of the stage. It was a manifestation of the power of the Holy Spirit giving husbands, contracts, cars and visas. Many were speaking in tongues; a woman was rolling on the floor and ushers tried to cover her with Ankara clothes so her underwear is not seen; another lady was kneeling on all fours spitting out white substances possibly poison; a man was pinned down by deliverance ministers. It is the Anointing, Deliverance and Testimony Service in the last day of the Holy Ghost Congress at the Maximum Inheritance Church; a time for people to confess miracles and breakthroughs God has done through Daddy G.O. *************** The first person to give a testimony was a woman; she was dressed in expensive Swiss lace and had on her neck golden chains announcing her miracle. Her cheeks were chubby and her makeup overdone. ‘My name is Madam Agnes and I want to thank our Man of God, Daddy G.O, for the way God used him to touch my life and bring me out of Egypt into paradise,’ she started. ‘I am a widow and my husband died three years ago. He was a bus conductor and his second wife was beer and Ogogoro.’ The congregation laughed while on the big plasma screen, the image of Daddy G.O nodding his head was zoomed. ‘My husband died leaving me with nothing but seven children and plenty of debts. By the time I sold all my properties I had from my petty trading, I could raise just a little to purchase his casket and bury him. After the burial, I was left with nothing and to make matters worse, by the time we came back to the city after the burial rites, our Landlord gave us a quit notice in the Face-Me-I-Face You room we resided at Ijora. He said that there is no way I could cope with paying the rent although he knew I was footing the bills when my husband was alive. A sister brought me to this church, and after Daddy G.O laid his hands on me during the Special Anointing vigil for breakthrough, my petty business started flourishing. Today, I have moved into a three bedroom apartment at Surulere.’ ‘Praise the Lord somebody,’ Daddy G.O shouted. The choir immediately broke into a praise song, I have a Very Big God Who is Always at My Side,’ and the congregation danced at the breakthrough. ********* |

The NGO has a choice of going to all the states to collate the information and I believe N1.8 million will not be enough for them to do that. When you request for your transripts, don't you pay? I stand with Waec. So you think staff of the council will start working for the NGO for the data just for free. Abeg. baby124: |
You guys should be objective. Does SAT give scholarships? WAEC is a body which takes care of exams in West Afica. If the NGO cannot pay the amount how can they assure us that their motive is genuine? If you can't afford a service charge of N1.8m how then can you give scholarships to thousands of students? Be logical. Flexherbal: |
On WAEC billing an NGO for services. --------------------------------------------------------- There has been so much fuss about WAEC billing an NGO N1.8m for information they requested concerning a compilation of performances of students on state basis for the NGO to use in giving scholarships to the students. Well, I don't see any harm in WAEC charging for the services they NGO wanted rendered. The NGO should be willing to pay that amount for the information they seek. If the so called NGO wants to give scholarships to students on state level based on their performance across the country and can't pay N1.8m for services by WAEC how then can we believe they can come clean with the herculean task of giving scholarships to thousands if not millions of students across the country. No matter how you look at it, I stand with WAEC on their billing the NGO, Nigerians always takes things for granted. They (NGO) just feel they will write WAEC and ask for such information and it goes to them free. Pray, when you go asking for your transcripts, you pay for it. If they (NGO) can't pay WAEC's service fee, then let them go state by state and compile the list themselves and see how much that will cost them. After all they are an NGO and should be on the field working. Bugatie: |
