Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why The Age Discrimination On Jobs? by okeymadu(m): 1:01pm On Mar 24, 2010
The reason for age discrimination is simple. Our universities don’t equip graduates with the needed skills in today’s market.
I had the opportunity to interface with homo sapiens in the developed world during a recent company sponsored programme and found out that there was a lot of skill gap between the two graduates (Developed and underdeveloped countries products (graduates)) when placed side-by-side
So, to answer this question: the companies need to virtually re-train the graduates over again and it is said that you can’t learn to write with your left hand when you are already a grown up…
So they need o “catch” these graduates when they are still young within our context …
BusinessRe: US To Assist Nigeria On Nuclear Power by okeymadu(m): 12:35pm On Mar 24, 2010
Pessimists.

If we can sort out telecommunication problems … remember the problem of NITEL, WE CAN equally make this work. let us keep encouraging our leaders in their quest at finding a lasting solution to the PHCN inactivity.

Nigeria has a great future!
PoliticsRe: FIFA Under-17 World Cup Generators Allegedly Traced To Ndanusa's Bida Home by okeymadu(m): 7:24am On Mar 24, 2010
@Beaf:
I initially didn't want to join issues with you,
I am now forced to open up with you and possibly go full blast.
Look at that article again, I used to be a student editor and it is believed that "it takes a monkey to catch a monkey"
The first paragraph reads:
With the dissolution of the Federal Executive Council, the Minister of Sports and Chairman National Sports Commission, Engr. Sani Ndanusa, has begun to feel the heat of absence in the corridor of power.

Then then the fifth paragraph read thus:

Meanwhile, the DG National Sports Commission, Dr. Patrick Ekeji, is said to have returned the Hilux pick up jeep attached to his office during the tournament, although he was said to have expressed an interest in buying it off should it be up for sale with the other vehicles of the LOC
.

So Beaf tell us who you are campaigning for…
Why not just tell us that you prefer Pat Ekeji as the new Sports Minister?

It even baffles me how those that traced it Gen gained entry into Ndanusa's house. Maybe you've not being to a big man's place before. grin
PoliticsRe: FIFA Under-17 World Cup Generators Allegedly Traced To Ndanusa's Bida Home by okeymadu(m): 3:31pm On Mar 23, 2010
@Dis Guy
My guy the thing funny no be small It was just like when the military accused Alex Ekwueme after the coup that he corruptly enriched himself in office only for him to come out as clean as a whistle and even used the incidence as a campaign tool in 1999.

It’s time we begin to ask questions based on common sense.
That reminds me… some people accused the richest man in my community if money rituals and they even swear that he won’t live in a house of his own. My brother, the man don build more than five palatial homes all completed, built a church and all his children are doing well.
Some people just like pulling other down. Little wonder they remain where they are - at the base of the ladder grin
PoliticsRe: FIFA Under-17 World Cup Generators Allegedly Traced To Ndanusa's Bida Home by okeymadu(m): 2:58pm On Mar 23, 2010
@Akuviv
I hate it when someone like you that claim to be objective, alienate the society from individuals and tend to create an imaginary all-are-saints and holier-than-thou statements. While I’m not here to act as PR to Ndanusa, God forbid, but to be as objective as possible.

Now let’s be objective: Not all that appear in the papers are exactly true and you know it. When did the tourney end? And why did the allegation take this long especially why now that it is been rumored to have been  re-nominated as a minister? Can you read between the lines and the spaces? Stupid!

I still stand by my statement… while I doubt that an ordinary 1.7kva genset was traced to a minister’s house, whose incidences allowances alone during the hosting period can buy 20 of such, I begin to see the silly things in that write up.

My friend not all forumites are swallow- the hook-line-and-sinker chaps.

We have brains but we just keep quite.

Will you apologies now?
PoliticsRe: FIFA Under-17 World Cup Generators Allegedly Traced To Ndanusa's Bida Home by okeymadu(m): 8:31am On Mar 23, 2010
Haba! What is the meaning of all these yawa for Ndanusa?

whats the big deal? yes he took just 1.7kva gen set to his house
after the Hosting of a tournament.
OK tell me what does the pastor's wife do to the fire wood and ground nut oil left unused after cooking for the church committee?
Abeg make una relax and thank God he didnt even take it while the tourney was ongoing. Such a patient guy.

When the National Stadium genset went on pilgrimage in 1996 to the then minister's house whose wife gave birth to twins how many of you heard it?

Sometimes people on NL talk like puritians,

Make una go sleep jare.

Why cant they just give the government the benefit of doubt?

BusinessRe: CBN Rolls Back Reforms -Universal Banking To Be Phased Out 2011 by okeymadu(m): 3:36pm On Mar 16, 2010
There will be need to revisit the the 25Billion minimum capital base, There is no rational for someone who wants to, for instance run an investment bank, to deposit 25billion with CBN.
Another poster for CBN!
BusinessRe: CBN Rolls Back Reforms -Universal Banking To Be Phased Out 2011 by okeymadu(m): 3:32pm On Mar 16, 2010
@Seun. SLS wants specialization and equally demands Nigerian banks to build up capacity.
The rational is for experts to manage areas where they can positively add value.

@mogentle. Yes new banks will emerge, but how long will it take them to begin to employ at the rate at which u envisage?
when an existing banks shield, for example shield 50 workforce, how long do u think the new now will take to develop the absorbtive capacity to employ that large. Remember specialized banking does not require large workforce rather it requires core experts,
even our universities curriculum werent designed to train graduates in such areas,
Abeg, I know wan talk, Mind you , I like SLS.
BusinessRe: CBN Rolls Back Reforms -Universal Banking To Be Phased Out 2011 by okeymadu(m): 3:00pm On Mar 16, 2010
This means more job losses. Departments will be phased out.
Good Lord, Help us.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is Now Ranked 33rd Biggest Economy Among Nations by okeymadu(m): 12:38pm On Mar 16, 2010
Arming yourself with statistics on growth, especially as it affects Nigeria a country with politicians who can manipulate some agencies that rely on figures to come to a conclusion is deceiving.
May I ask the OP: what are the parameters for the ranking? Is it access to water, good roads, per capital in-come, access to health facilities, housing or what?
People forget easily how government can give statistics that do not colloborate with facts on ground.
It were better that we are ranked 100th and let us have stable electricity at least smiley

Quote.

Na so? Becomerich, I beg, I recant.
PoliticsRe: In The SpotLight. Becomrich1 And His Multiple ID(s) by okeymadu(m): 9:24am On Mar 04, 2010
Personally, I read Becomerich's posts. Not for the grammer (abeh, that one sucks), but for the comic relief (apologies Jarus). His articles may not necessarily make sense, as expected of one of his age, academic certification, and, wait someone said he is based in Canada(?), someone in oyinbo land, but they help bring out the tribal sentiments which reside deep down in the heart of many NLders.
Some pople posit that he might not be mentally balanced yet they read and reply to his post  shocked. Some believe that he is a distractor, yet they open thread(s) to discuss him huh
And you claim to hate him? cheesy
Isnt politics about telling jokes and lies and irritating people? How come you've not impeached your president after recently celebrating hundred days in office, hospital,  life support unseen? and we still pay him handsomely? and you all wants to harass and ban innocent Becomerich, no way, let the maps rain. Abeg, Becomerich carry go.
PoliticsRe: CBN To Fund Power Projects With N500bn Loan by okeymadu(m): 8:46am On Mar 04, 2010
The entire scheme look more credible because of Bank of Industry involvement. The bank is transparent and follow the rules in all their trabsactions,

I believe in this!
PoliticsRe: Akunyili can checkmate Turai... by okeymadu(m): 4:43pm On Feb 25, 2010
@mikeansy. That's a good option, the Acting President can call a join session of NASS and report the president missing based on that the NASS can constitute a panel which will be basically apolitical to investigate and revert back to it within 7 days based on that report, Mr. Yaradua can then be impeached for aboundoning the office for which he was elected and sustained through tax payers money.

My friend, I'm sure you don't knoe protocol procedure. Akunyili is a Minister for In formation for misinformation. What she does is to enlighten us about decisions and occurence not to instigate one.
I understand we are all mad at that Turai for now, there are othere rational, tactical and constructive ways to get at her and her husband.
However, we need patience all this will end before October 1, 2010.
Relax and take solace in this Igbo proverb,
A matured bed bug tells the younger ones to always cool down whatever is hot will soon be cool.
