truelove.com:Who told you that the bank is not popular? Because it's not always advertising does not mean it is not popular. Findout what a development finance institution does and then think if it is necessary they invest heavily on adverts like commercial banks. |
pro01: It's not surprising that most of the oafs sheepishly praising D'Banj here had never heard of the Bank of Industry, let alone have any clue about its mission, vision, purpose, structure, or source of funding. It goes to show the kind of characters that constitute the core of D'Banj's die-hard fans.I don't know where the source of the 50.0 million Naira endorsement deal stems from. However, I will advise you to seek ways to be relevant in the society so that you become a prophet that is celebrated at home and abroad. You see BOI isn't "looking" for customers, signing on Dbanj is a way of showing what creativity and recognisition is a about. When a bank signs a musician as its brand ambassador, it goes to show that there are potentials and untapped opportunities in that sector. It is not about the oil and gas, intellectual property will rule the next generationa business landscape. BOI has seen it well ahead of others, hence the initiaitve. Sadly enough a lot of you guys won't understand this post because intellectally speaking, you are not just there. |
I have followed the thread and I am surprised that most people here do not know about BOI. This display of ignorance can be forgiven given the fact that BOI has its mandate and if you are not on the list of those requiring their intervention knowing about the bank won't hurt. I suggest that peeps here should be humble enough to google a name they do not know! Some have suggested that BOI using Dbanj is a misplaced priority. Shuo? BOI is the first bank that started financing the entertainment industry in Nigeria. The bank, during the London 2012 Olympics, organized events in London showcasing investment opportunities and the entertainment/creative industries in Nigeria. Its alarming when some peeps type stuffs without having knowledge or the slightest of facts on the discussion! |
He was one of the dead. Source: my thinking. Lol. |

Such attention seeking comment. Silly and lacking in intellectual depth. |
@OP. I didn't read most of the post any ways little advise: this goes beyong being Catholic or Anglican. Your wife doesn't respect you and the earlier you put your foot down and take a firm decision the better for you. If by next Sunday she refuses to attend Anglican with you, I suggest you begin to make plans for a "new life" as this marriage won't take you anywhere and will wreck you. She indeed deceived you. Perhaps, for your information, she still dey shine that "father". Goodluck! |
@OP. Get the facts straight, please. I was there. It happened on 25.07.2012 in Theatre Royal Stratford East, London during the Showcasing Ngeria Project powered by Bank of Industry and the Nigeria Olympic Committee. Seun Kuti had wanted to smoke his "thing" somewhere around the auditorium but the security guys there refussed - telling him that the Police will seal the Theatre should the smell get out. The Theatre Management, I understand, had equally informed the artists that dancing will not be allowed for safety reasons as they cannot guarantee that the two floor building has he strenght to withstand the crowd. Asa, Dele Sosimi, Tony Allen, Keziah Jones have all performed on same stage earlier without incidence. Seun behaved abnornally that night. With such I doubt if he will go furher in the career than he as attained. This was a family concert and not some area boys thing. We were happy to go home in stead of allowing such morals in what is termed Nigeria House in Stratford. |
Such long PDP-sponsored write-up. |

la furia:Well, I am not a GEJ apologist, but I owe it to explain certain actions of government I understand. I think the law enabling one to request information from government agencies had been passed is the FOI bill or something. You can request for information on what the money is meant for. The legislative arm, I know has men of timber and caliber, I expect them to request for detailed intended use of the loan being sought. I hope this answers your concern. |
alj harem:LOL. Ok. let me break it down like this. Do you expect government to finish its treasury before borrowing? Mind you, borrowing is not done because you don't have money rather it is done to ease pressure, enabling one to meet its responsibility while capital projects are not hampered due to lack of money to execute them. The American government has money but still has to borrow to funds certain aspect of its economy. I tried to break this down to a level everyone outside of financial industry can understand. |
Sometimes, I laugh when I read some contributions of peeps to issues that they have no basic knowledge of. Borrowing to fund projects (that will be implemented) remain the best option to path of development. For instance, govt at all levels do not have sufficient financial capacity to give us stable electricity. To generate 1MW of power require an investment of about 310. 0 million naira. So, tell me where the FG, States & "+cal govt will get money to give us 50K MW if govt refuses to borrow. Borrowing in itself is good if the money borrowed is used for its intented purpose and not diverted to private pockets. |
