Nairobi is a very organised city with lovely weather and beautiful houses. I love their style of houses so much, like ikoyi types but better looking and well maintained.

Visa fee is 50 dollars for single entry, 100 for multiple ending. Ticket WS appx 119 before d dollar madness.

Bought the ticket from Ethiopian airline at approx 119k. I think their currency has more value since their exchange rate for a dollar is 90 while ours is 226 as of last week.

I am presently in Nairobi and I must confess that it is really a lovely place. So far, I love love love their weather. No need for fan and a.c. I love their housing style, constant electricity. Have not been out much but will definitely go to the kaurara forest. Also have plans of visiting the park. Will upload the pictures of places I have been later.
There s traffic but it s organised. Kenyans are very friendly, kept on getting queries abt boko haram. They think there s boko haram presence in all parts of Nigeria. Same thing with how Nigerians think of all shabab, lolll. I know how manyeople warned me about visiting the malls.
The mall I have been to is very big with lots of varieties. It's like things are cheaper in naija. Exchange rate for dollar is 90 Kenyan currency to 1 dollar. When you change 50 dollars, it can finish when u pay for few items. Average cost for taxi is abt 1000 Kenyan currency. By the way, paid 2500 for taxi from the airport. I think that is huge. Visa at point of entry was not difficult, didn't have need to show hotel booking.

.....So I am heading to nairobi on 2nd march via ethiopian airline. I will be getting the visa on entry. I have my return ticket, yellow fever, letter from my host, $400 and letter from the body inviting me. Hope I am good to go. I will be staying for 5 days only.

Also, do I need to fill the visa application form and present at the POE?

You can send your transcript and ur degree certificate to WES differently by courier, since you are time conscious.. But u must use your school official envelope to send your transcript so that it would look like your school sent it. The envelope much be stamped too.
Remember, send them differently.

Collected my transcript from my school which was addressed to WES and photocopied my certificate, put them in same envelop and sent to them. It was accepted.

@ bluerange. The kids are so excited you know when they feel they have stories to tell when back to school. I stayed in lavington which is upscale area. But I saw the buses at city centre. I dont want to join the buses cos I am scared for my family. But if it had been only me I would have done so.but the accommodation we got is so lovely. Even friends that we made in nairobi keep ogling at it. But at least it so much change from my PH and Lagos life

am nigerian bt been there, stayed at kasarani, ngog, karen and other beautiful places. transportation is cheaper compared to nigeria despite d fact that petrol is about N220 per litre there.House rent is a monthly affair there, steady power.

I think you can get it in your state's ministry of health or at the airport. Will be in kenya this march, will apply for the visa at their embassy. Don't want to start telling stories that touch biko.

How easy it is geting the visa at the POE?

i am also going to kenya on march, planning to stay for one week. wondering how much to budget for the one week stay and ehere i can buy tickets at a good price. checked ethiopian airline and the price is from 150k upwards. pls any input will be very helpful. is there any advantage of obtaining the visa before travelling over getting it at port of entry?

.............gurus, coming to nairobi march 2015 for a one week stay. chose the place over dubai though d flight cost is more expensive. hope the city makes sence. any idea of cost of average hotel stay? hope to really enjoy my stay.

l want to ask a questiin on behalf of my sister. Her U.s citizen spouse filed for an immigrant visa for her. They have submitted all that are requested to nvc. she is worried that her passport is in her maiden name. Does she need to change her passport name to her married name? The price quote for changing the name by nigeria immigration is very high so she s wondering if she can do without the name change.
