Hello abuja niv

My mum has a two year visa that is expiring in Jan. She didn't get to use it because of an eye surgery she had during the proposed dates. Now, she wants to travel because my sister is expecting and needs her by her side after birth. She wants to stay for 3 months ( from dec to feb) but unfortunately her visa would have elapsed by then.
Does she qualify for dropbox in other to renew or to go for another interview.?

Did you do you MLS in nigeria?

What English Test did you do IELTS or PTE?

Finally, will a prospective candidate be mandated to write AIMS exam soon after a successful evaluation?

what is the current exam fee for the AIMS exam and will one be granted 15 points automatically when the exam is passed?

Pardon the myriad of questions and pls nne @oknee kindly do justice to ommoausie's above stated enquiries. Thannk you!
The info is available in aims.org.au.
You will have 15pts after assessment if u have a degree. With that, u can hit the ground running with MLT if u have a state that will nominate you. Otherwise, u take the exam whenever you are ready. If you pass, you get MLS and can go for 189 if you have up to 60 points.

If u truly got ur grant why are you asking us such a silly question? This is d 1st thing all applicants do Lol
You could have just asked him what he meant without making a mockery of him. IOM sometimes issue subsidised tickets for intl students. They are not only there for medicals.

I don't have up to 2yrs post-qualification experience as part of the conditions for Qland nomination.

Still gathering funds before kick-starting the process.

@Ma'am Oknee after the pre-assessment by AIMS and my credentials are found worthy, my designation will be Med Lab Tech pending when I will write the AIMS exams? Can Q'land nominate me just as so? I pray you settle in Aussie soon to dispel my mixed feelings; you've been a source of motivation.

Morso, still on the nomination, what about Financial capacity/sufficient fund as a requirement, what's your take on it?

Hmm it's quite a FAR COUNTRY. God bless @Oknee.
After your initial assessment, aims will classify you as MLT. You ge MLS after you pass the professional exam. Yes, queensland is presently nominating both MLT and MLS. You can apply with MLT if you don't want to use the MLS route.

Thank you so much! @Oknee

What material(s) did you use for preparation in terms of studies?

Can this exams be written from within Australia should one's spouse who is in a different occupation in demand stands a better chance as the primary applicant?!

God bless...
Yea, it can also be written in all the major cities in Australia. Why not begin the assessment now that queensland is nominating MLT.

I used the recommended textbooks from aims.

Skip the skilled employment assessment; the degree assessment is very adequate. Having your work experience asssessed positive by EA doesn't really add much value; DIBP will still perform a verification (if they choose to) when the visa application is made.

Just save that work assessment fee and use some place else.
Thanks, will pass it on to him.
iceberg54:
I think he only needs that if he wants to claim points for experience.
If not, it's not necessary.
Thanks for your contribution. He has 5+ years experience to claim.

Hi all,

For all the engineers in the house, is it recommended to do the skilled work assessment? my brother recently got a positive assessment as an electrical engineer and is skeptical about paying another fee for the assessment. what is your advice? if the assessment is recommended, what other supporting documents can he include apart from the reference letter, offer letter, promotion letter, confirmation of appointment, bank statement and pension statement. he does not have his payslips.

Your suggestion will be highly appreciated.
