I would love you to help me on what to do to get my website (front end) visible again. The said site www.migrate2web, was visible for many months till I received a notification from 'Domain Services', asking me to register my domain name search engine listing so that my customers can locate me on the web. The cost of the registration was quoted as $75 per year. So, I couldn't do it, and later on, till now my site has not been visible. What does this issue of domain name listing mean and how can I get the site back to visibility?

Yinksey: That error is usually associated with ur web server, which means you might have misconfigured, or maybe your are trying to use sef url while its not properly configured on ur web server, you might try to check ur configuration and configure properly, or try renaming ur .htaccess file. To e.g .htaccess.txt.

miracle4: go from your cpanel ==> file manager ==>"show hidden files" back it up or simply add .txt to it

miracle4: make a back up of & delete your current .htcss file . it should be the culprit here

Afam4eva: It's most definitely a web server issue. make sure that your codes are in good working condition.

soloqy: I use Hostgator for some sites. I dont know the many downtimes you are talking about

soloqy: Its you who dont know what you are talking about. I also use hostgator and maintain that I dont see the frequent downtimes you are talking about.

omega25red: to clean up cache you can open your browser (internet explorer for example) and click tools -> internet options -> and you will immediately see a delete button for the browsing history. when you click that button, it will give you options as to what you want deleted which should include all the temporay internet files, cookies etc. when done close out the browser and re open it . Done!

or you can clcik start -> all programs -> Accessories -> system tools -> disc clean up. this will also give you some options of temporary file and old compressed files and other stuff to clean.

As far as enabling the built in admin account, you can only do that if your computer was part of a domain i think? but if you got your computer new and you did the initial setup then the first account you setup on it should be the admin account. you can verify this by going to control panel -> user accounts -> depending on the browser you are using you might have to click "change account type" for windows 7. i think it's the same for vista but i can't remeber what it is for XP

omega25red: could be that the account you use, does not have full admin rights. you might want to enable the built in admin account on the computer and try that one. Also, sometimes when you have having issues with logging on or running a program online, its good to clean out the computers cache and history because the initial error might still be manifesting through the cache on the computer.
