I couldn't read all 13 pages of this thread but my answer is YES! Of course I'd marry a virgin man. The rarity of a virgin male is a big turn on. Well educated fornicators are so passe and why assume this virgin doesn't come with abilities that so called experienced lovers (ahem whores) don't know? |
Yikes! Bleaching cream?! What's going on here? Even if I was darker than night I'd like to think I wouldn't be so bothered by it I'd want to lighten up. *** I'm very light skinned so maybe I just don't get the big deal with bleaching creams. I also don't use spf 'cause I think it clogs the skin and frankly I do need those rays from the sun. It's not as if I'm out there baking myself all day in the sun. Besides I like my vitamin D straight up. As for skin care and treatment (I have really nice skin) the best products I've found and use faithfully are: Roka Treatment Black soap (made by a minister in Nigeria). This black soap is the best stuff I've ever used and is so wonderful for my skin, I have no problem rinsing off black suds after every shower. The last time I visited Nigeria I bought enough to last me a year it's that good. I'm hoping to become an exclusive distributor for it here in the united states. In addition to the black soap, I use shea butter. Good old shea butter , and that ladies and gents are the only beauty products I use. Oh yeah , and traditional sponge or the loofah stuff. I don't wear make up 'cause I think it's ick. Believe me for all your skin woes, I highly recommend the Roka treatment black soap. Contact me by email if you want to know more about it. |
Amazing , not one good thing but tons of nonsense to share. Eeek! I need to find a forum with some positive Nigerians 'cause this place is starting to get depressing. |
What makes them Nigerians and what's your point spreading this disgusting shit around. Perhaps you work with them? Big fat FAIL for this thread! ![]() |
Gabry:I got this from a dream dictionary online: Snails To see a snail in your dream, suggests that you are being overly sensitive. You may feel inhibited but desire to be more outgoing and energetic. Alternatively, it suggests that you are making steady progress toward a goal. You need to go at your own pace. |
Er you know the onion is a paper that makes up and spoofs and exaggerates stories for comedic effect right? |
Tbaby12:Life isn't perfect that's why you're giving the married guy a chance? LOL Don't kid yourself. Don't make up lame excuses to make it easier for you to deny the fact that you're having an affair with a married man. All that other bullshit you're spewing about proving he's okay and the wife is the one with the issues conceiving does not legitimize your position. It seems to me you want people to say you're doing fine and everything you're doing is okay 'cause you have an excuse for everything and none of them seem to be clearing up the mess you're in. Good luck and I hope you do the right thing for everyone involved. |
That's encouraging. I enjoyed reading this. |
So I've been reading a bunch of threads on this board and man are most of the topics depressing. I've been reading the 419 threads and with each story Nigeria sounds more and more unsafe. So I stopped reading 'cause I really don't want to fall prey to all the negative Nigeria talk. So I'm here to ask, what are some good things going on in Nigeria. I mean the country can't be known just for the scammers. There are scammers everywhere in the world so how about some positive things about Nigeria to counter the negative. I've only spent 3 weeks of the past 21 years in Nigeria so besides my family, I don't really know much about the place. So Nigerians, speak on it, what's great about Nigeria, what are some positive experiences you've had? What are some good developments, interesting cultural things, share please, I'd like to read some good things to counter all the horrible stories. |
It's all over the news and my friends have been posting about it all over facebook. R.I.P. Michael King of Pop |
brein:You haven't given much detail. What has she done, how did you find out, what are the specifics to being a mamiwata and for the love of God why do people take the word of missionaries that came to Nigeria and corrupted and polluted our traditional beliefs with theirs. Forget the stereotype and try looking at the relationship with fresher more understanding eyes. |
madambini:Do you get involved with these guys in serious relationships? Have you gotten involved with a guy only to find out he's in a serious relationship and lied to you? |
"almost physical" sorry , Almost can lead to definite so please be careful |
Tbaby12:What is most difficult in your situation is not taking the actions that support what you say you want. You want the Atlantan, you've stated you do yet have you told the man you're living with? Perhaps he's angry because you seem to be going back and forth back and forth. Have you told him you love someone else and want to be with that person and he needs to move? Perhaps he feels you're jerking him around. Is there a reason you're not telling him? Is he helping you with rent and your other bills? You've stated he sometimes gets physical, well that's never a good situation to be in so perhaps coming clean with your thoughts and feelings will help everyone involved? What do you think? |
Tbaby12:Wait, you said you like the guy you're living with 'cause he has what you need. Well there's your answer. |
galatico:To galatico: Spelling really is important if you're to convey what you're thinking properly. What you mean to write is: The idle mind is the devil's workshop. An ideal mind is a good thing. |
Most times I'm okay , Sometimes I think it would be nice to be in a relationship. However only a good relationship. When I think of the drama involved in some of my past relationships, I shudder and kick the thought out of my mind. However, relationships aren't all about the bad experiences or the past. Currently I think I'd like to give it a go again. I've learnt a few things and am more confident about speaking my mind and not settling for some bozo just because I think I want to be in a relationship. |
Hauwa , If you go into the moi moi business let me know, I'll save myself the trouble of cooking and just buy yours. ![]() |
Okay cooldud62* I'll be back to check your tips for making moi moi. Also, chaircover, theolar - thanks for the tips about tomato. I thought that's what I had to use to give the moi moi it's reddish color. Turns out I didn't like them that much in the moi moi. Thanks to my big appetite the moi moi is all gone. Wondering what I'll make for lunch today . Hmm , ![]() |
Thanks for the responses and tips. I seem to be getting advice similar to what you guys have shared over and over and over again. How sad that's the case but I'm heeding the advice. It turns out I'm not staying as long as I thought I would be so I'll do the tourist thing with my family and make my soap with my mum. I've missed her so much and we have so much to catch up on. Despite the state of things, I plan on having a great time. Thanks all. |
I hope I have fun too seeing as the things I'm thinking will be fun aren't what Nigerians wish to get into. ** I'm wondering why this board is so slow. I thought this place was full of Nigerians and I'd get more than one answer. Perhaps there's a more active board I should posing my questions on? ![]() |
Hello Hauwa. I tried the moi moi I made and not too bad. I think I should have added a bit more water to the mix. Other than that, it's pretty good. As for all the spices I added hahaha , That was just boredom and my sister's well stocked spice shelf. Next time I make it, depending on the ingredients I have around, the moi moi will be different. Who knows it might have cow tongue in it, rice, potato hahaha , Enjoy your dish. |
Wish me luck. Today I decided to tackle making moi moi on my own. Here's how I made it. First I poured some Emma's peeled, ground black eyed beans powder into a bowl. To that I added the following spices: onion powder, salt, black & red pepper, chicken & italian seasoning mix, paprika, curry. Then I added a can of diced tomatoes, some olive oil, water, a can of tuna and a few slices of turkey bacon. I was boiling an egg to add to the mix but got hungry and ate it instead. I mixed together all the ingredients listed above, poured them into tin foil cups I'd already made and dropped them into a pot of boiling water. I'm super hungry right now and I really hope it turns out well. What methods do you guys use to make moi moi? Did I forget a critical step? Is there a better way to make it? Should I have added more ingredients like rice to the mix? How long should I let this mix boil for? How do I know when it's ready. It's been boiling for about 8-10 minutes. I've touched some of the bags that are looking swollen and they feel solid. I want to make sure the beans are cooked properly before I open them. Another 15-20 minutes cooking time should be enough right? |
Hi all. I'm new here too. I started a thread in some forum 'cause I didn't see this thread but here I am and glad to be here. |
I've heard it's not a good idea to eat food in your dreams |
I'll be in Nigeria within two weeks and was wondering what do people do for fun. I don't mean kids, what do adults (people in their early to mid 30s and up) do for fun in Lagos? I haven't been in Nigeria since 1998 and before that 1988 so it's been a while. I don't really know anyone besides my mum so I'd like to meet some people to hang out with when my mum's busy or I just want to get out. I'm interested in traditional, cultural entertainment as in I'm not looking to do anything that seems like a copy of what people in the u.s. consider fun. I've been watching NTA trying to get a feel for the country and have to admit I hate the music videos where the artists are trying to rap or get all jiggy r&b style. I guess I'm looking to learn more about traditionally Nigerian things to do. For example I plan on going to Agege market (is that still around?) buying ingredients so I can make black soap with my mum. That should give you an idea of the kinds of things I'm looking to do. Once you've been out of Nigeria as long as I have, you start missing the most basic things. I wish to reconnect. I will also be in Anambra some of the time so fun cultural activities I can get into there would be nice to know. So people , Share, fill me in, let me know what's up. I'd appreciate it. Thanks ahead of time. |
What are your qualifications or are you talking about knock offs? |
I like what people have said about maybe posting some of your designs on here. I also suggest you look online and look up other famous Nigerian fashion designers that are successful and get some encouragement from them. I'm very interested in fashion myself and will be doing a lot of research when I come to Nigeria within the next two weeks. I'll be going all over Lagos and hopefully working with and learning as much as I can about up and coming designers that I can collaborate with while there and hopefully when I return to the states. |
Man , I need to check the dates on these threads Why are the posts on here so damn old? |
To Isokoh - Are you kidding? You fell in LOVE two months ago on your way to Ibadan with a prostitute and are thinking of marriage already? Seems to me you have bigger issues than figuring out what's going to happen further down the line. Get it together man. Also how did the subject of prostitution come up? Were you soliciting for prostitutes and if so are you sure you can keep your pecker in your pants and not go looking for other whores once the LovePeddler you're with gets boring? |
