PoliticsRegina’s Unprovoked Carnage And Rampage In My House And In My Absence by okrote4real(op): 1:30pm On Oct 19, 2025
REGINA’S UNPROVOKED CARNAGE AND RAMPAGE IN MY HOUSE AND IN MY ABSENCE

Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety. Now she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs. I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting 3 staff in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause. The truth is, I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehab in Asokoro or outside Nigeria especially Jordan where she will not have access to drugs. A clear headed regina would have taken moon to the hospital but instead she even threatened to kill our resident nurse(for exposing her drugs abuse). While I took Moon to the hospital, a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier. Another known supplier of drugs to Regina is the tiny evil devil called Ann.

CrimeI Need Justice: How Police Hijacked My Case After Recovering My Stolen Camera by okrote4real(op): 9:18am On Oct 19, 2025
I tracked down the person who stole my camera worth ₦6 million and sold it to a receiver. I reported the case to the police in Kaduna, who later linked up with a team in Jos to help arrest the receiver and recover both the camera and my sound device.
The sound device, which I bought from Sasco for about ₦300,000 just three weeks before the theft, was also stolen. I went to Sasco to inform him about it, and he assured me that he would alert other gadget dealers not to buy it but to help recover it and arrest the suspect.

To my greatest shock, Sasco ended up buying that same sound device from the thief for only ₦10,000. He claimed the thief was a “well-known cameraman” and pretended not to remember that I had already reported the missing device to him.
Initially, Sasco promised to pay for the rental days while the item was with him and also to reimburse me for the expenses I incurred in pursuing the case. But after he spoke with one police officer and allegedly gave him money, his tone changed completely. He came back saying, “Thank you for helping me. Just take it easy with the police. You people will settle everything today.”
When I later met one of the officers handling the case, I explained what was going on. He said they could recover some money to cover rental fees but that only the court could handle such issues. I agreed and told him I wanted the matter taken to court — and that’s when he got angry.
Before this, the same officer had already asked me to pay ₦30,000 to the team that arrested the receiver in Jos, which I did. Later, he demanded an additional ₦80,000 for “logistics” to travel with two officers to bring the suspect from Jos. I sent him the money, but after that, he completely changed the story.
I later overheard him telling the receiver that he would help him recover the money he used to buy the camera but would take ₦200,000 from the ₦600,000 already recovered. The police had already recovered over ₦200,000 from the suspect, yet they refused to release my gadgets.
Because of this, I had to refund people who had rented the camera from me earlier. When I asked for my camera so I could continue working, they said the thief must refund the receiver’s money first before I could get my property back. I was speechless.
I confronted the officer I had given ₦80,000, and he started shouting that I was “trying to teach them their job” and “spoiling their investigation.” I asked him directly, “Is it because of the ₦200,000 you want to collect that you’re shouting at me in front of the suspect?” He replied that he only said that to “deceive the Jos team” so they would release the camera. I asked, “Deceive them how?” — but he refused to explain.
I called the team leader in Jos to ask about my camera. He said, “If they don’t send the receiver his money, you won’t get the camera.” I asked, “So if it takes two months for the thief to pay, I won’t get my camera?” He said yes. When I asked if that was what the law says, he got angry.
I told them again to charge the case to court, but the officer began shouting that I was afraid of court and that they “control the court.” He called the Kaduna officer, who came in angrily, saying, “Why are you telling my Oga what to do? Do you think this is your office? We’ll release all the suspects and deny anything ever happened.”
I told him to go ahead. Then he threatened me, saying, “I’ll lock you up and nothing will happen. You’re a poor man. Do you think you can fight the two big men involved in this? Only people with money win court cases. Leave our station — we don’t know you.”
He said all this in front of the suspects and even tried to draw his pistol, threatening to waste me. His colleagues restrained him while he kept pushing and dragging me, until others told me to leave.
When I tried to report to their 2IC, he ordered the station guard not to let me in. It’s been two weeks now — I’ve tried reaching their commander, but all efforts have failed. Since then, the officer has been harassing and insulting me for no reason.
Please help me share this story until I get justice.
My camera and sound device are still in their custody.
Tag @nigeriapoliceforce and @npf_nccc.
On Monday, I’ll post all the receipts and evidence of everything that happened.

PoliticsNigeria’s Silent War: The Christian Genocide And The Hypocrisy Of Reno Omokri by okrote4real(op):
BY ANTHONY ADA ABRAHAM

The recent exposé by American fact-finder Mike Arnold, who likened Reno Omokri to Nigeria’s Joseph Goebbels, a master of propaganda for the highest bidder did not come as a surprise to many Nigerians. Those familiar with Omokri’s long history of deceit and opportunism can only nod in weary recognition.

What is most disheartening is Omokri’s attempt to dismiss Arnold’s revelations as the work of a “foreign puppet.” This is coming from the same man who once publicly advocated for the protection of Christians in Northern Nigeria, yet now downplays the ongoing genocide against Christians that continues to stain our nation’s conscience.

Over the years, Reno Omokri has shifted political allegiances more times than the seasons. He championed Atiku Abubakar, only to later embrace Peter Obi, calling him the most credible candidate. Then, after Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s victory, Omokri swiftly changed tune...hurling insults, spreading propaganda, and seeking relevance like a desperate canary searching for food.

His record of political inconsistency is not only embarrassing but reveals a man whose loyalty is measured solely in currency.
Mike Arnold’s statement that “Nigeria is facing a calculated genocide against Christians” should alarm every Nigerian of conscience. The evidence of these killings are church burnings, targeted attacks, forced displacements which cannot be denied or whitewashed by clever propaganda.

Each time those in power deny these atrocities, they share in the guilt of the blood that continues to flow across our land.

If this administration cannot stop the systematic killings, then the international community must intervene or Nigerians must be empowered to defend their faith and their lives. Nigeria is a secular state, and no religion must ever claim superiority over another.
The truth may be inconvenient, but it remains unstoppable: The blood of the innocent will continue to cry until justice is done.

This is not about Mike Arnold, but the people who are being killed everyday and others using them for cheap political gains.

PoliticsWe Can Transform Our Tourism Sector Into Major Economic Hub – Expert by okrote4real(op): 3:12pm On Oct 13, 2025
NAN, Abuja

An expert in Tourism Diplomacy, Dahiru Bala says Nigeria can transform its tourism sector into a major economic driver, creating millions of job opportunities and generating revenue.

Bala also said that tourism can help showcase the nation’s rich cultural and natural heritage to the world when fully developed.

Bala who is the Chairman, Cultural and Diplomacy Council spoke on the sidelines of the take-off of a continental tour to Ethiopia by the Director, International Society of Diplomats Tourism Directorate on Thursday in Abuja.

He noted that Nigeria is sitting on a goldmine via its tourism sector, brimming with untapped potentials that offer a wealth of opportunities for economic diversification and growth.

“From hotels to restaurants, the benefits of a thriving tourism industry cut across various sectors, as the sector expands, construction, transportation, and even casual labour markets experience a positive boost,’’ he said.

, Dr. Bala, who is also the former Regional Manager of the Bank of Industry, noted that if an entire economy is built on the process of tourism, even casual labourers and tour guides provide employment opportunities.

This, he said, highlights the widespread economic impacts of a flourishing tourism sector.
He also lamented Nigeria’s currently underutilising its vast array of tourist sites due to lack of adequate infrastructure and security.

He said Nigeria is not investing enough in harnessing the tourism sectors.

“Tourists prioritise safety and accessibility and without these fundamental elements, our potential remains untapped,’’ he said.

He pointed out the need to prioritise first-class infrastructure with well-maintained roads, state-of-the-art technology, integrating advanced tech to enhance the tourist experience and modern amenities to ensure ease of access.

He called on security agencies to ensure adequate security for the safety of tourists.
“Global promotion, actively promoting Nigeria’s tourism potentials at international events and lastly, media investment, showcasing our sites through various media channels,’’ he said.

“Consider the untapped potentials of the Yusufari desert in Yobe, which could rival the desert experiences of Dubai.’’

He said by implementing these strategies, Nigeria can unbundle the strength in her potentials and unlock the boundless opportunities that await us as a nation.

The Project Director, Amb. Phil Roberts noted that the title of the project “Tourism Across Africa: Uniting Cultures, Connecting Destinations is borne out of the trans-African story aimed at exploring and promoting Africa’s untapped tourism potentials.

He explained that the 30-day journey from Abuja to Ethiopia is entirely by road and will be showcasing Africa’s interconnectivity and rich cultural corridor, with stop overs in local communities to spotlight hidden destinations and engage with tourism stakeholders.

The project will position Africa as a unified travel destination for both Africans and the global community, it’s not just going to cover distance and it will build bridges across cultures, promoting Africa’s diverse beauty while inspiring a new narrative of African-led tourism development.

“Currently in Congo, heading towards Uganda, with strong interest from local media, hospitality businesses, and youth groups, i have been widely received as “Tourism Peace Envoy” with calls for collaboration across borders.
“We are creating a documented travel route from West to East Africa, demonstrating that Intra-African tourism beyond mainstream destinations is possible, but more importantly, that peaceful cross-border relations and partnerships are possible without walls,” he said.

PoliticsNTA Partners Love To The World Initiative For Attitudinal Change by okrote4real(op): 12:53pm On Oct 08, 2025
By ANTHONY ADA ABRAHAM, Abuja
In a renewed drive to foster patriotism and national reorientation, the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has entered into a partnership with Love To The World Initiative, a non-governmental organization committed to promoting positive social values and attitudinal change among Nigerians.

The delegation from Love To The World Initiative, led by Josephine Abraham, paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of NTA, Mr. Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, at the Authority’s headquarters in Abuja.

The visit was aimed at seeking collaboration with the national broadcaster to amplify stories of hope, unity, and patriotism through NTA’s wide-reaching platforms.

Speaking during the visit, Josephine Abraham commended the NTA for its consistency in promoting national unity and projecting the image of Nigeria positively across the world. She explained that the team came to honour the DG for his “tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s unity and moral values.”

“We want to partner with NTA to bring some of our Human Angel Stories to prime time television,” Abraham said. “Our goal is to use this platform to transform the country for good, reminding Nigerians that real change begins with each of us. Attitudinal change is what Nigeria truly needs right now.”

PoliticsKwararafa League Defends VC Selection At FUGUS, Alleges Sabotage By Petitioners by okrote4real(op): 11:49am On Oct 06, 2025
A Civil society organization, Kwararafa League for Good Governance has raised alarm over what it describes as a coordinated attempt to undermine the ongoing process of appointing a new Vice Chancellor at the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS), Zamfara State.

In a strongly worded petition addressed to the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa the group condemned a recent lawsuit filed at the National Industrial Court, Abuja, by three academic staff of the university Professors Ahmad Galadima, Ibrahim Garba Zurmi, and Dr. Anas Sani Anka against the University’s Governing Council and Management.

The petitioners had challenged the Council’s adoption of a minimum ten (10) years post-Professorial experience requirement for applicants vying for the position of Vice Chancellor, a criterion they argued was designed to disqualify certain candidates.

However, the Kwararafa League insists the criterion is valid and aligns with directives issued by the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Universities Commission (NUC), particularly a pronouncement made by the Minister in May 2025 emphasizing adherence to this standard by all university councils.

“It is important to note that for the fact that some universities refused to abide by the directive does not make it legal or constitutional,” the group stated in the petition signed by its coordinator, Samuel Bature.

The group also accused the petitioners of pursuing selfish agendas and attempting to destabilize the institution.

They alleged that the Pro-Chancellor, Hon. Aminu Sani Isaac, may have prior connections to one of the claimants Professor Ahmad Galadima who reportedly received informal assurances of being appointed Vice Chancellor despite not meeting the advertised requirements.

Describing the lawsuit as “baseless and malicious,” the group maintained that the University has operated in full compliance with applicable laws and guidelines, and called on the Minister not to recognize or support the ongoing legal challenge.

“This representation is made in good faith, as a body committed to fairness, justice, and the development of education in Nigeria,” the petition stated.

The League has also urged the Minister to direct the University’s Governing Council to take disciplinary action against the trio involved in the litigation, citing their actions as detrimental to the peace and credibility of the university system.

Copies of the petition were also sent to the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), the President of the National Industrial Court, and the Pro-Chancellor of FUGUS.

As the legal and administrative battle continues, stakeholders in the education sector await the Ministry’s response and the final outcome of the Vice Chancellor selection process.

Nairaland GeneralJay Moni Excites Ochochi Community With First Solar-powered Borehole by okrote4real(op): 11:37am On Oct 04, 2025
JAY MONI EXCITES OCHOCHI COMMUNITY WITH COMMISSIONING OF FIRST SOLAR-POWERED BOREHOLE

Excitement and relief filled the air in Ochochi community, Okpoma, Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State, as fast-rising music star and philanthropist, Amb. Christopher Ogar, popularly known as Jay Moni, commissioned a solar-powered borehole he donated to provide residents with clean and safe drinking water.

Jay Moni, who is also the founder of Jaytech Group of Companies Ltd, sponsored the life-changing project after learning about the community’s long-standing struggle to access potable water. The borehole is the first to be sited in Ochochi community.

The commissioning ceremony drew community elders, women, youths and children, as well as notable guests including Hon. Dr Emaluji Michael Sunday (Ochochi 001), Mr Emmanuel Okwo, manager of Jaytech Group, Ebriku John Friday Senior Special Assistant SSA on Data Analytics to the State Governor amongst others.

Speaking during the commissioning, Jay Moni said his decision to fund the project was inspired by a video showing how residents fetched dirty water from a distant, unsafe source.

“It was heartbreaking to see people still struggling to get clean water in the 21st century,” he said. “It’s not like I have too much, but I believe it’s part of our duty as citizens to support our communities. We shouldn’t leave everything to the government.”

He urged other successful sons and daughters of Yala to emulate such gestures and contribute to improving the living conditions of their people.

“We see people doing this in other parts of the country. We also need to go back home and address what is lacking,” he added. “Our goal at Jaytech Group is to make a positive impact. By God’s grace, our outreach efforts will continue to grow, and we hope to do even more to complement efforts of government.”

Jay Moni also used the occasion to call on political leaders to prioritise grassroots development and deliver the much-needed dividends of democracy.

“My message to our leaders is to bring governance closer to the people. We keep hearing ‘it will get better’, but things seem to be getting worse. We understand the challenges — economies are struggling everywhere — but we hope and pray that leaders remain committed to providing basic infrastructure that improves people’s lives,” he said.

“And to the people of Ochochi, I want to assure you that darkness doesn’t last forever. There is always light at the end of the tunnel, and we are getting closer to that light, Insha Allah.”

Expressing the community’s gratitude, Comrade Dr Emaluji thanked Jay Moni for responding to their plea and transforming their daily lives with the water project.

The commissioning ended with prayers of blessings from community elders, men, women and residents, who asked God to protect Jay Moni and grant him greater success in his endeavours.

It would be recalled that in April, the award-winning Nigerian multi-talented street artist has approved the installation of a solar-powered borehole for the Ochochi community in Okpoma, Yala Local Government Area, Cross River State.

it was reported that, Jay Moni, who co-owns the Wayward brand with a recording studio Jaytech Studio, made the decision after listening to Amb Dr. Michael Sunday Emaluji (also known as Ochochi 001), who shared the struggles of the local people with him. The borehole project will cost around N15 million and is expected to begin soon, once the Ochochi community leaders provide the location.

Speaking about the project, Jaymoni had said, "If charity begins at home, we must help ease the suffering of our people. After hearing from my elder brother and mentor, Amb Dr. Emaluji, I have approved the construction of a solar-powered borehole in Ochochi. Access to water has been a long-standing issue for our people, and this small gesture is meant to help alleviate their struggles."

He continued, "Times are tough, and many are facing hardships. We've been doing what we can to support people, and we're grateful for the guidance we've received. Let's all come together to build a healthier community and society where we can all thrive."

Mr Emmanuel Okwo, Jay Moni's manager, also reiterated the company's commitment to supporting local communities and complementing government efforts.

Amb Dr. Emaluji expressed his gratitude to Jay Moni on behalf of the Ochochi people, thanking him for his generosity and quick action. He also promised that the project would be completed to a high standard.

It’s worth noting that Jay Moni was recently honoured with the African Entertainment Humanitarian Award at the African Legendary Awards 2025 in Abuja on April 5. He also bagged the Yala Achievers Award as the Entertainer of the Year and AU ambassadorial recognition for his impactful humanitarian services, which has seen him involved in various charitable initiatives in Lagos, Ogun, and Cross River States, making a positive impact on many lives.

PoliticsSecurity Votes, Empty Promises, And Endless Killings by okrote4real(op): 7:35am On Oct 03, 2025
The government will keep denying these killings while people are being murdered every minute. The brutal violence in Kwara State is pathetic.

What are our governors doing with the security votes in their states? What are they doing with allocations meant to protect their people?

These killings are so widespread you might think they won’t affect you ,until they touch you or a member of your family.

It started in the Northeast, then infiltrated the North Central, ( the nation’s food basket.) Now it’s spreading to the South. And everyone keeps quiet.

Isn’t it time Nigerians were allowed to carry weapons to defend themselves? Will people just sit and watch as they are butchered like goats?
People are fleeing their hometowns because terrorists have invaded their communities and are killing residents. This is strategic.

The woman whose husband was killed while returning from work , that is the height of this horror.

As I always say: if it hasn’t affected one of their own, many won’t act.

You support Hamas, yet the genocide happening here in Nigeria is far worse. The number of people killed across Nigeria is enough to draw the United Nations’ attention, but no. We are Africans; our lives only seem to matter when it’s time to steal our natural resources.

The Convener of Ogwashi-Uku Carnival Anthonia Oguah describe the event as “the most explosive cultural celebration in Delta during the Yuletide,” bringing together families and friends in an atmosphere of music, dance, and creativity. One of the highlights of this year’s edition will be the carnival costume competition, where participants are encouraged to appear in colourful, imaginative outfits for a chance to win prizes.

Beyond the entertainment, the Ogwashi-Uku Carnival has been positioned as a platform for cultural diplomacy and community branding. With the theme “Promoting the Image of Ogwashi-Uku Through Culture and Dance,” organisers say the event continues to spotlight the town’s heritage while fostering unity and tourism.

“Over the years, the carnival has grown into a major cultural movement in Delta. It is not just a parade of costumes and dance, but an opportunity to project the vibrancy of our people,” said one of the organisers.

Now in its 14th year, the carnival has steadily drawn larger audiences, boosting local businesses and giving young people a creative outlet during the festive season.

Organisers insist this year’s edition will be the biggest yet, as Ogwashi-Uku once again welcomes the world to experience its cultural heartbeat.

PoliticsThe Silent Tears Of Christians In Nigeria And The Hypocrisy Of Govt. by okrote4real(op): 9:33am On Sep 28, 2025
The Nigerian government and even the United Nations remain largely silent on the daily bloodshed ravaging communities across the country. Instead, their attention is often directed toward conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, crises that bear no direct connection to Nigeria.
The scale of killings, kidnappings, rapes, and mutilations in Nigeria surpasses many of these global conflicts, yet the cries of the people continue to be ignored. A government that truly values its citizens would never negotiate with terrorists or bandits but would act decisively to eliminate extremist groups that indiscriminately kill both Christians and Muslims.
Because these groups don't attack the rich and famous, that's why no action has been taken.
Instead, Nigerian leaders find it more convenient to call on Israel to halt military actions in Gaza, while failing to protect their own citizens at home. The hypocrisy is glaring: before pointing out the speck in another’s eye, they must first confront the log in their own.
This is the grim reality Nigerians live with every day. The lives of Nigerians means nothing until one of their own is touched.

PoliticsThe Real Cabals In Nigeria Are The Trade Unions by okrote4real(op): 5:57am On Sep 28, 2025
Most of the Cabals punishing the common man don't actually live in Aso Rock....

Many of them are members of NLC and TUC who like Rats eat the masses and blow soothing breeze on the spot they feed on...

About 5% of my salary is deducted monthly by the trade union I belong to... In 4 yrs that money can buy me a good plot of land in Kokori my community...

But the money is collected and share by unions under the guise that they are fighting for workers..

It's the same story in almost every public and private institutions across Nigeria...

When Dangote accused NUPENG of collecting N50,000 from every Tanker that load petroleum products across Nigeria.... I was expecting the union to debunk it..... It's four days now... No rebuttal.... It means it's true ..

Nigeria consume average of 50 million litres of Petrol everyday, over 30 million litres of Diesel, there is kerosene there is gas.... If you punch your calculator,... You would discover that NUPENG collect tens of billions of Naira annually from petroleum products...

These monies are passed on to Nigerians...

Indirectly Nigerians using fuel fund NUPENG with tens of billions of Naira annually....

On May day .... You see them telling lies of fighting for the common man when in actual fact they are exploiting ordinary Nigerians....

This union leaders tell the world that N75,000 minimum wage can't take workers home... Yet they still deduct their money from what they claim can't take workers home...

The National Union of Road Transport Workers and RTEAN are another notorious union exploiting ordinary Nigerians.... In a park.. especially the inter states ... Some of these drivers pay as much as N10,000 daily to load Passengers..

That is over N3million per driver in a year... Before the driver pay state and local govt levy.... That money can Transform the lives of millions of ordinary Nigeria driver across the country....

NLC and TUC benefits from it....

The tummy of many of the union leaders are competing with those of the national leaders of Hungarians..

When Lagos ban them for extortion and violent conduct.... Osifo ... TUC president vow to shutdown Nigeria if these parasitic union is not allowed to operate ..

These are the Cabals....

They are untouchable.... They are in the markets extorting traders and buyers ...

The real Cabals.... But pretending to be on the side of the common men they enslaved....

Nigerians must remain resolute with Dangote to stop these parasitic and cabalistic unions from killing the Dangote refinery the way they killed all the four FG refineries....

PENGASSAN and NUPENG members sabotage and killed the govt refineries from inside...

It's assuring that Dangote caught these wicked unionist trying to do same to his refinery before they struck....

Nigeria ...these are the Cabals....

These are the subsidy Cabals...

Those making lives unbearable for Nigerians are before us.... We must all speak out against them...

PoliticsApc To Atiku Abubakar - Instigating Anarchy Is Degrading To Your Status by okrote4real(op): 7:11pm On Sep 16, 2025
PRESS STATEMENT

*APC TO ATIKU ABUBAKAR - INSTIGATING ANARCHY IS DEGRADING TO YOUR STATUS AS A FORMER VICE PRESIDENT*

The statement by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 presidential election, of Monday, September 15, 2025, is a new low, in a recent streak of incendiary commentaries. He sounded a false alarm about “hunger and insecurity”, dismissed the transformative reforms of the President Bola Tinubu's administration, and likened Nigeria’s situation to circumstances that justified historic violent revolutions and uprising in France, Russia and the Arab Spring.

While garbed as a critique of the economic policies of President Tinubu’s administration, Atiku’s statement is nothing short of a tacit instigation of a revolution in Nigeria. His statement is reckless, irresponsible, unbefitting and degrading to his status as former Vice President.

As a two-term Vice President, Atiku and his PDP, at the time, had the opportunity, backed by humongous oil revenues, to eradicate hunger, poverty and insecurity. Atiku and his PDP failed to do so. In fact, they made absolutely no impression against hunger, poverty and insecurity in Nigeria. They governed for 16 years, did not and could not eradicate hunger, poverty and insecurity in Nigeria. Instead, Atiku and his PDP democratized hunger and poverty in our country. They plundered and looted our treasury, and enthroned corruption and profligacy as state policy. Atiku and his PDP cemented the sordid foundations of hunger, poverty and insecurity that President Tinubu is battling courageously and relentlessly to defeat, with growing success.

As Vice President, Atiku was clueless about solving Nigeria’s economic challenges. As a forever-presidential aspirant, he remains eminently clueless about what it takes to tackle our country’s economic challenges. Atiku’s confession to the looting of $16 billion meant to provide electricity to Nigerians, under his watch as Vice President, is a stark reminder of his record of incompetent and failed leadership. Now out of power, Atiku thinks himself as possessing knowledge and capacity he so miserably lacked when he had the opportunity to govern as Vice President. That is utterly delusional. Nigerians know this and it is reason they have serially rebuffed his attempts to be president. Nigerians are on standby to deal Atiku, hopefully, a full and final rejection in 2027.

Blinded by desperation, tormented by President Tinubu’s impressive and inimitable strides, distraught by an unrealized presidential ambition, disoriented by anxieties of a far faded political future, Atiku has become incapable of objective, reasoned and rational assessment of the state of our rebounded and stable economy, now set to secure growth and deliver prosperity for our nation.

That Atiku’s disturbing statement was made on a day when all news platforms had headline reports of consistent lowering of inflation numbers, at a period when all vital economic indicators are looking up and pointing in a positive direction, shows clearly that he is out of touch with the reality of the benefits now flowing from the administration’s transformative Renewed Hope economic reforms.

Atiku must know that instigating anarchy is not legitimate or justifiable opposition politics. It is wrong, irresponsible, unpatriotic and unacceptable. While critique of the administration’s economic policies is within the opposition’s democratic freedom, instigating violent uprising is not a protected freedom. Violence is never a desirable or acceptable mode of democratic engagement. Atiku should know better and refrain from the use of inflammatory language capable of stoking violence and undermining the peace and safety of Nigerians. His duty to country must trump his desperate and inordinate presidential ambition.

We trust Nigerians to ignore Atiku's inciting statement as self-serving, anti-democratic and a threat to the peace, unity, interest and progress of our dear country. Atiku hardly resides in Nigeria and will not be available to partake in the attendant pain, destruction, mayhem and desolation that the revolution he is instigating will bring. We must guard our God-given liberties and not lend them to be sacrificed at the pleasure of Atiku’s political ambition.

We urge Nigerians to remain steadfast in support of President Tinubu’s administration as it continues in its unyielding efforts to build a nation of our collective dream.

Arjen Robben Death Hoax Debunked: Dutch Football Legend Alive and Well

Reports claiming that former Netherlands and Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has died are false. The viral story, which alleged that Robben passed away due to complications from a chronic respiratory illness, has been exposed as a death hoax.

The false report, shared widely across social media, suggested his family had released a “heartbreaking statement” confirming his death. However, no reputable news outlet or official football body has carried such an announcement. Instead, fact-checking sources and close monitors of Robben’s career confirmed that the ex-footballer is alive and healthy.

Robben’s representatives have not issued any statement regarding his supposed passing, further underscoring the lack of credibility behind the viral claim. Additionally, posts on platforms like Instagram have directly urged fans to ignore the fake news, stressing that the 40-year-old legend remains well.

Death hoaxes targeting high-profile celebrities and athletes are unfortunately common, often originating from unverified social media pages designed to generate attention. The fabricated details about “chronic illness” and “years of health struggles” are typical hallmarks of such misinformation.

Arjen Robben, remembered for his blistering pace and trademark left-footed strikes during spells at Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, continues to be celebrated as one of the most talented wingers of his generation. Fans can rest assured that despite the rumors, the Dutch great is very much alive.

Never See Someone's Opinion As A Threat To Your Understanding

If we could recollect during the campaigns, the incumbent US president, Donald Trump would've been assassinated if God wasn't on his side.

And it looks same just like what happened to Charlie Kirk.

When I watched that Kirk assassination video close-up, when he was shot in the neck and saw how the blood was gushing out, I knew he wouldn't make it.

Tolerating people's views and opinions doesn't have to go to that extent. I posted the incident on my YouTube page and some far left are rejoicing it happened to him.

If you support dastardly acts like this, you might be the next victim. That's why I hate it when people criticise some government policies and their street urchins are used to attack or cause death.

https://youtube.com/shorts/_ZvifuL3CUc?feature=shared

The only sin of Charlie Kirk was to preach his conviction to youths and people who believe in common sense.

If you don't agree with someone's opinion, debate him/her to see reasons why your thoughts or beliefs are stronger and superior.

I'm still saddened by his death because it was very unnecessary. Just like he said, "Death Is The Only Thing That Could Happen To Me." He knew his life would be cut shot anytime.

They've killed his body, but his messages and ideas will grow stronger and make those youths they want to discourage stronger to agree with whatever principles he had.

I pray for his family, wife, and innocent children to be strong. Nothing as bad as losing your breadwinner.

May God rest his soul.

PoliticsEFCC Grills Ex-nnpc Boss Mele Kyari Over Funds Spent On Refinery Maintenance by okrote4real(op): 7:48pm On Sep 10, 2025
According to the report, Kyari is expected to account for funds allocated to the maintenance of Nigeria’s refineries during his tenure.

Mele Kyari, former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), is currently being grilled at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Daily Trust has reported.

According to the newspaper, Kyari, who was earlier placed on the agency’s watchlist, arrived at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the report, Kyari is expected to account for funds allocated to the maintenance of Nigeria’s refineries during his tenure.

On Tuesday, August 19, the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the temporary freezing of four Jaiz Bank accounts allegedly linked to Kyari.

Justice Emeka Nwite issued the order following an ex-parte motion filed by the EFCC.

Counsel for the EFCC, Ogechi Ujam, told the court that the Commission was still investigating the matter and needed more time to conclude its probe.

In his ruling, Justice Nwite said: “I have listened to counsel to the applicant and gone through the affidavit evidence with the exhibits and written address attached. I find that this application is meritorious, and it is hereby granted as prayed.”

The judge adjourned the matter till September 23 for a report.

The EFCC, in the motion marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1641 and filed on August 11, sought the freezing of the accounts, arguing that they were linked to Kyari, who is under investigation for conspiracy, abuse of office, and money laundering.

The affected accounts include: Jaiz Bank Account No. 0017922724 (Mele Kyari), Jaiz Bank Account No. 0018575055 (Guwori Community Development Foundation) and Jaiz Bank Account No. 0018575141 (Guwori Community Development Foundation Flood Relief)

The anti-graft agency alleged that preliminary findings showed the accounts were used to launder proceeds of unlawful activities under the guise of contract facilitation.

Meanwhile, in the affidavit supporting the motion, Amin Abdullahi, an EFCC investigator with the Special Investigation (SIS) Unit, stated that the agency received a petition dated April 24 from the Guardian of Democracy and Rule of Law against Kyari.

Abdullahi said the investigation so far carried out revealed that “N661,464,601.50, which was suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities, was warehoused in four different accounts.

PoliticsApc To Tambuwal - You And Fellow Opposition Leaders Are Oppostion Problem by okrote4real(op): 8:14pm On Sep 07, 2025
ABUJA, FCT

SEPTEMBER 7, 2025

PRESS STATEMENT

*APC TO AMINU TAMBUWAL - YOU AND FELLOW OPPOSITION LEADERS ARE THE PROBLEM WITH THE OPPOSITION*

Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, and former Governor of Sokoto State just could not resist the draw to jump on the inglorious bandwagon of kindred opposition figures whose warped pastime is hurling foul allegations against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a recently televised interview, Tambuwal accused President Tinubu and APC of plotting the destabilization of opposition parties in the country, and bragged about defeating the President and the APC in the next general election. Like his garrulous opposition cohort, Tambuwal offered no substantiation of his bogus claims.

By their inert and lackluster engagement, it is now clear to Nigerians that the present crop of opposition leaders have lost focus, assuming they ever had any, aside from their compulsive and obsessive crave for power and patronage that feed their huge ego and greed. Opposition politics is not simply about membership of a political party different from the ruling party. It is not just about the freedom to zap in and out of political parties based on purely selfish political calculations. It is also not about the freedom to bandy false narratives, peddle lies and engage in smear campaigns designed to sow discord and mislead the public. Opposition politics is certainly not also about weaponizing grudge disguised as opposition critiques.

It is perplexing that these opposition leaders - the likes of Tambuwal, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Mr. Peter Obi and Mr. Rotimi Amechi - who have occupied some of the highest political offices in our country have failed, horridly and disgracefully, to provide leadership, purpose, direction and vitality to their parties. Rather than focus their attention and touted leadership abilities to building viable opposition parties, they prefer to play the blame game, pointing fingers at the APC for failure that is entirely their own.

A justification for democratic political opposition exists essentially in its role to hold the government accountable to govern in accordance with the rule of law and democratic norms. It is also about the duty of opposition leaders to take responsibility and accountability for their failure as leaders of their parties. Without effective leadership, opposition parties cannot perform their ascribed role of promoting accountability of governance or its role to provide credible policy alternatives or extending cooperation to the ruling party in pursuit of progress, and achieving the common good.

How can anyone take present day opposition leaders seriously as capable of leading Nigeria at this high-stakes moment in our nation’s history when they have proved so grossly incapable of leading their parties?

Tambuwal must believe that his status as an opposition politician confers some kind of immunity from investigation or prosecution by anti-corruption agencies. No member of the political opposition is above the law just like no citizen is above the law. Tambuwal’s suggestion that his recent arrest and ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged cash withdrawals totalling N189 billion in contravention of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Proctection) Act, 2022 indicated a politically-motivated clamp down on the opposition bellies the obscene and perverse entitlement mentality that these opposition leaders carry.

Resorting to emotional blackmail against the government as a device to shield himself or anyone from lawful scrutiny, investigation or prosecution for suspected heinous economic crimes will not and should not cut it as opposition sacred cows.

To be clear, for the umpteenth time, President Tinubu and our great Party are preoccupied with the important business of governance and do not have idle time to meddle in the internal affairs of parties that are already badly broken by their own failures and internal contradictions.

Opposition leaders remain in denial while their parties drift, rudderless at sea, as their members peel away in droves. The opposition’s attempt at building a coalition remains a figment that is not coalescing due to the hostile takeover of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that is now unraveling in crippling dimensions, and the competing selfishness, desperation and arrogance of its leaders.

With nothing of value to offer Nigerians, these opposition elements have now turned political prophets trumpeting their base wishes and 2027 predictions that only truly portend the devastating defeat that awaits them at the voting thumbs of the good Nigerian electorate that have rejected them before, that rejected them in the recent bye-elections, and will reject them decisively, again, come 2027.

As a Party, we will continue to strenghten our internal democratic systems to stand stronger, and serve Nigerians better, while as a government, President Tinubu remains resolute and focused on rebuilding generationally neglected foundations of our economic life and repositioning the country for sustainable progress.

PoliticsThe Contract With Nigerians - President Bola Tinubu's Open Letter by okrote4real(op): 8:52pm On Sep 02, 2025
THE CONTRACT WITH NIGERIANS - PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU'S OPEN LETTER

Dear Nigerians,

I took an oath to serve all Nigerians, not a section. That oath guides every bridge, road, rail, power, and health project we deliver.

From the Lagos–Calabar Highway in the South to the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway in the North; from Port Harcourt–Maiduguri rail in the East to Abuja–Kaduna–Kano expressway in the Centre, and the Trans-Saharan highway connecting African countries, these are not local trophies. They are our national assets.

Health centres are being rehabilitated nationwide, light rail projects in Kano, Kaduna, Lagos & Ogun have been given the green light, 250,000 jobs are being created, power is returning to Kaduna through the revived 255MW power plant, bridges in Onitsha & Bonny reconnect our people, oil exploration is expanding in Bauchi & Gombe, and the AKK pipeline has crossed the Niger.

Every farmer who needs a road, every trader who needs power, every child who needs a school, every patient who needs care… this is who we are building for.

This is the equity of Renewed Hope. No Nigerian is second class, no region is left behind. Together we will rise as one nation, one people, and one destiny.

Bet on Nigeria.

PoliticsTinubu Government Misleads Nigerians by okrote4real(op): 5:38pm On Sep 01, 2025
Tinubu Government Misleads Nigerians, Lists Projects Done In Other Regions For North-West To Make Up Numbers

A SaharaReporters' review of data published by the Bola Tinubu administration on Monday showing segregation of projects awarded per region has revealed misrepresentation.

On Monday, Tinubu released his national infrastructure progress report, which he tagged, “Infrastructure Equity for Every Region. Progress for Every Nigerian. The Renewed Hope Agenda in Action.”

According to the review, the government listed 12 projects as those benefitting North-Western states.

However, findings show that the numbers were padded, with two projects ideally meant for the North-East and another two from the North-Central region of the country.

For instance, the 110km Damaturu–Maiduguri road was listed under North-Western projects.

Meanwhile, Damaturu is the capital of Yobe State and Maiduguri is the capital of Borno State — both in the North-East.

Similarly, the Bama and Dikwa roads, both in Borno State, were listed under North-Western projects.

The Lokoja–Okene road dualisation was also included under North-Western projects. However, both locations are in Kogi State, which is in the North-Central region.

The Benue–9th Mile road was likewise listed as a North-Western project, though it is in the North-Central region.

Further review shows that while the administration listed two North-Central projects under the North-West, it also listed them again under the North-Central region, amounting to double entries.

Likewise, projects meant for the North-East but placed under the North-West were still listed again under the North-East.

In April, the Tinubu-led Presidency maintained that President Bola Tinubu's appointments would continue to be based on “merit, integrity, geographical spread, and demonstrable capacity to serve the Nigerian people.”

This statement followed Senator Ali Ndume’s accusation that the government was guilty of regional bias.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Senator Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District, accused President Tinubu of breaching the constitutional principle of federal character in his political appointments during an Arise TV programme.

In July, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) also accused the Tinubu-led Nigerian government of sidelining the North in budget allocations and critical development, despite the region contributing more than 64% of the total votes that brought him to power.

The comments were made at a two-day citizen engagement forum organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in Kaduna. Alhaji Bashir M. Dalhatu, Wazirin Dutse and Chairman of the ACF Board of Trustees, alleged that the North had been “largely excluded” from key governance processes.

“The North, which contributed over 64% of Tinubu’s total votes in the 2023 general elections, has been largely excluded from critical policy decisions and project implementation,” he had said.

Earlier, SaharaReporters reviewed Tinubu’s national infrastructure progress report, in which he claimed his administration had maintained equitable governance and infrastructural development.

That review showed that the South-East and North-East regions of the country were the least beneficiaries.

PoliticsNRC MD Names Assaulted Journalist Ladi Bala Ambassador For Media Advocacy by okrote4real(op): 6:07pm On Aug 31, 2025
…. Apologizes to her, media community

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Dr. Kayode Opeifa, has publicly apologized to the Nigerian media for verbally assaulting Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) journalist Comrade Ladi Bala while she was covering the aftermath of a train derailment along the Abuja-Kaduna rail corridor.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council Secretariat in Abuja on Sunday, Dr. Opeifa explained that his remarks, made under intense pressure while managing the crisis, were misunderstood as hostility towards the press.

Comrade Bala, the immediate past president of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), was reportedly subjected to unprovoked verbal attacks by Dr. Opeifa while performing her official duties at the derailment scene.

The NUJ FCT Council condemned Dr. Opeifa’s conduct, describing it as dehumanizing and a serious violation of press freedom.

During the apology, Dr. Opeifa said:
“I wish to sincerely apologize for the regrettable remarks I made, which were directed at a seasoned journalist and reflected poorly on both the NUJ FCT and NAWOJ.

“Acting under pressure and in the heat of the moment while trying to ensure safety, I uttered some unkind words for which I take full responsibility.”

In recognition of Comrade Bala’s resilience, professionalism, and dedication to factual reporting despite the unfortunate incident, Dr. Opeifa bestowed upon her the honorary title of “Ambassador for Media Advocacy.”

He explained that the derailment involved eight coaches and one locomotive, placing huge demands on his team to coordinate rescue efforts, inform the presidency and the public, and activate emergency procedures simultaneously.

On the day of the accident, the NRC’s newly revised emergency protocol was immediately put into action, engaging key agencies such as the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Federal Ministry of Health, Kaduna State Government, FCT Administration, and Nigerian military.

Dr. Opeifa said there were 618 passengers onboard at the time of the derailment. Seven coaches and the locomotive were damaged, with around 20 passengers sustaining injuries—seven critically.

The NRC quickly provided replacement coaches to evacuate stranded passengers and began contact tracing using passenger manifests within 45 minutes of the crash.

“Some passengers had already traveled to nearby towns, but we managed to trace them by phone,” he added. “I personally visited at least seven injured passengers, including one who had made his way to Zaria.”

He also praised the swift response from the Nigerian Army, Air Force, police, local vigilantes, and other emergency personnel, whose actions saved lives.

Ambulances and medical teams were deployed by NEMA, the Federal Ministry of Health, Kaduna State Government, and FCT Administration. Medical staff on the trains prioritized life-saving efforts at the scene.

Dr. Opeifa tendered a direct apology to Comrade Bala, acknowledging she bore the brunt of his earlier comments:

“To her, I offer my fullest apology. I also extend the same to the NTA, NAWOJ, and the wider journalism community.”

He described himself as a longtime advocate for human rights and trade unionism, recalling his history with the Campaign for Democracy, leadership in the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at LASU, and involvement in the June 12 struggle.

“I have fought alongside journalists before; I am not their enemy,” he stressed.

Dr. Opeifa highlighted NRC’s gender-inclusive policies, noting that 50% of the corporation’s management directors are women promoted on merit.

He reaffirmed his commitment to partnering with the media to advance railway development and provide accurate, timely information.
Regarding recovery efforts, he disclosed that by Saturday two coaches and one locomotive were cleared from the crash site, with two more coaches expected to be removed by Sunday’s end.

Engineers had laid about 50 meters of new track to facilitate this.
He praised the resilience of NRC’s rolling stock, noting that business-class passengers were unaware of the accident until disembarking, demonstrating the equipment’s quality and impact-absorbing capability.

On media relations during emergencies, Dr. Opeifa commended journalists for their coverage but urged accuracy to prevent panic.

He also detailed NRC achievements, including reactivation of the Jos–Bukuru line, expansion of the Lagos–Ibadan corridor, and plans to connect major ports like Tin Can, Warri, and Onne to the rail network, describing these as unprecedented in over 60 years of Nigerian railway history.
Dr. Opeifa announced the establishment of a Customer Service and Relations Department to engage passengers and the media, noting the unit had contacted over 400 passengers affected by the Kaduna accident.
He concluded that despite the accident, the incident strengthened NRC’s resolve to modernize railway services and expand rail access in partnership with state governments and the Renewed Infrastructure Fund.

“The media remain our partners, not adversaries. We will deepen collaboration with the NUJ, NAWOJ, and civil society to promote transparency and public trust,” he affirmed.

NUJ FCT Council Chairman Comrade Grace Ike, representing journalists, said the council would continue defending press freedom and resisting intimidation. She welcomed the public apology as a step toward rebuilding trust while stressing that the NUJ FCT has zero tolerance for intimidation, harassment of journalists.

“We will persist in fighting for our members’ rights and freedom of speech, which is a right, not a privilege. I am pleased the MD has joined us in opposing harassment and intimidation of journalists and will champion this cause,” she said.

“With Comrade Ladi Bala as the NRC’s Ambassador for Media Advocacy, we anticipate increased media activities and campaigns promoting the welfare and development of Nigerian journalists, especially in the FCT.”

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Special Duties, Tunde Rahman, who accompanied Dr. Opeifa, praised the NRC boss’s humility in offering the apology and pledged ongoing collaboration between the presidency, NRC, and the media.

Newly Registered Nigerian Firm Bags N127.7Million Federal Contracts Within 2 Months Of Incorporation

A SaharaReporters review of the federal public payments portal, Govspend, has revealed that Albarka Mulan Catering Services Limited, a company newly incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), secured federal contracts worth ₦127.7 million within just two months of registration.
Official CAC records show that Albarka was registered on January 20, 2023.

Barely seven weeks later, the company received its first payment of ₦64.8 million on March 9, 2023, from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) for “Arc-P stakeholders training hiring of hall for twenty-two days.”

Just 12 days after that, on March 21, 2023, Albarka was again paid ₦62.9 million for the “Arc-P feeding of participants in Sokoto State.”

Speaking on the development, lawyer Awosusi Kehinde described the contracts as a red flag.

Kehinde told SaharaReporters that a situation where a company, barely two or three months old, secures millions of naira in federal contracts is a "financial sham."

"To win a federal contract, you need your tax clearance certificate, which you cannot get as a three-month-old company. A tax clearance certificate usually consists of returns for a financial year, which the company will be unable to fulfil," he said.

"It is not just the tax clearance, we also have pensions certificate, NSITF, which should form part of what the company would submit, so the issue is how they would get the document to submit for bidding."

He reiterated that the move may have amounted to a breach of procurement laws.

"It is hard to bypass the provisions of the law in this regard," he told SaharaReporters.

In a related development, SaharaReporters earlier reported that another organisation, Swanty 16 Kitchen, was awarded contracts worth N215 million within seven months of registration with the CAC.

All the contracts were awarded to the organisation by the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).

Swanty 16 Kitchen Enterprise was registered on March 15, 2023, according to details available on the CAC business registry portal.

However, less than four months later, on July 12, 2023, it was awarded a contract of N36.74 million for the "Provision of catering services for the feeding of trainees at FRSC training camp Kontagora, Niger State for the Month of June 2023."

Another sum of N54.362 million was paid to the organisation by the FRSC for the "Feeding of FRSC trainees at Military facilities Kontongora, Niger State for July 2023."

The payment was made on August 8, 2023.

The commission also paid N52.8 million for the "Provision of catering services for trainees and directing staff at Army training centre, Kontagora, Niger State for the month of August 2023."

On October 5, 2023, the FRSC made another payment of N59.2 million for catering services at the Kontagora camp.

Similarly, on October 12, 2023, the FRSC paid Swanty 16 Kitchen N11.9 million.

PoliticsAt Commission Inauguration, Nwuche Promises Focused and Effective Leadership by okrote4real(op):
The South-South Development Commission (SSDC) was officially inaugurated on Thursday, with its chairman, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, pledging to fulfill the commission’s mandate in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony for the newly established regional development commissions, Nwuche expressed gratitude to the National Assembly for passing the enabling bill that made the commission’s formation possible. “I appreciate members of the National Assembly who worked so hard to see that this bill was passed,” he said.

Nwuche promised to work tirelessly and collaborate closely with the Minister of Regional Development and other stakeholders to realize the commission’s vision. He emphasized that the SSDC would fast-track infrastructure development in the Niger Delta and South-South region while promoting economic empowerment, social stability, and environmental renewal. “Our goal is to bring meaningful projects that impact lives, restore trust in governance, and contribute directly to the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President,” he assured.

Engr. Abubakar Momoh, Minister of Regional Development, described the inauguration as a landmark step toward equitable and sustainable development across Nigeria’s regions. He pledged to sign performance bonds with commission leaders to ensure accountability and stressed that the commissions’ role goes beyond project management to rebuilding public trust through delivering tangible results.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, praised the move as a significant step toward decentralizing development and urged the commissions to prioritize impactful infrastructure and social initiatives over wasteful spending.

Representing Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Yusuf Ubangari, welcomed the decision to headquarter the National Council for Development Commissions (NCDC) in Nasarawa, revealing that an office complex has been provided to support its launch.

Senator Titus Zam Tartenger, Chairman of the Senate Committee on NCDC, commended the commissions for their potential to complement state efforts and pledged legislative oversight to ensure their success.

Earlier, Minister of State for Regional Development, H.E. Uba Maigari Ahmadu, described the commissions as catalysts for structural renewal, social empowerment, and economic diversification, highlighting their role in promoting peace, stability, and national unity.

With the SSDC now formally operational, stakeholders have high expectations that Chairman Nwuche’s leadership will drive inclusive growth and sustainable development throughout the South-South region.

PoliticsReuters Photographer Quits, Blames Media For Enabling Gaza Journalist Killings by okrote4real(op): 12:52pm On Aug 26, 2025
Reuters Photojournalist Resigns, Accuses Organisation, Western Media Of Enabling Israel’s ‘Systematic Assassination’ Of Gaza Reporters

Canadian Reuters photojournalist Valerie Zink has resigned after accusing the agency and other Western media outlets of “justifying and enabling the systematic assassination of 245 journalists in Gaza.”

Zink, who worked as a Reuters stringer for eight years with her photographs published worldwide, said she could no longer be associated with the agency.

She argued that Reuters had abandoned its journalistic duty by amplifying Israeli claims and ignoring the plight of reporters under attack in Gaza.

Explaining her anger in a social media post on Tuesday, she cited Reuters’ coverage of the August 10 killing of Palestinian journalist Anas Al-Sharif.

“When Israel murdered Anas Al-Sharif, together with the entire Al-Jazeera crew in Gaza City on August 10, Reuters chose to publish Israel’s entirely baseless claim that Al-Sharif was a Hamas operative – one of countless lies that media outlets like Reuters have dutifully repeated and dignified,” Zink said.

She added that Reuters’ failure to challenge Israel’s narrative had not prevented the agency from losing its own staff.

“Reuters’ willingness to perpetuate Israel’s propaganda has not spared their own reporters from Israel’s genocide. Five more journalists, including Reuters cameraman Hossam Al-Masri, were among 20 people killed this morning in another attack on Nasser hospital.

“It was what’s known as a ‘double tap’ strike, in which Israel bombs a civilian target like a school or hospital; waits for medics, rescue teams, and journalists to arrive; and then strikes again.”

Zink said the responsibility for such killings rested also with Western outlets that echoed official talking points without scrutiny.

She pointed to an assessment by Drop Site News journalist Jeremy Scahill, saying that “every major outlet – from the New York Times to the Washington Post, from AP to Reuters – has served as a conveyor belt for Israeli propaganda, sanitizing war crimes and dehumanizing victims, abandoning their colleagues and their alleged commitment to true and ethical reporting.”

She argued that this dereliction of duty created the conditions for an unprecedented death toll among journalists.

“By repeating Israel’s genocidal fabrications without determining if they have any credibility – willfully abandoning the most basic responsibility of journalism – Western media outlets have made possible the killing of more journalists in two years on one tiny strip of land than in WWI, WWII, and the wars in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, and Ukraine combined, to say nothing of starving an entire population, shredding its children, and burning people alive,” she said.

She also accused Reuters of betraying Al-Sharif even after his Pulitzer-winning work for the agency.

“The fact that Anas Al-Sharif’s work won a Pulitzer Prize for Reuters did not compel them to come to his defence when Israeli occupation forces placed him on a ‘hit list’ of journalists accused of being Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants,” she said.

“It did not compel them to come to his defence when he appealed to international media for protection after an Israeli military spokesperson posted a video making clear their intention to assassinate him following a report he did on the growing famine. It did not compel them to report on his death honestly when he was hunted and killed weeks later.”

Zink said she now felt only grief and shame in carrying a Reuters press pass.

“I have valued the work that I brought to Reuters over the past eight years, but at this point I can’t conceive of wearing this press pass with anything but deep shame and grief,” she said.

She added that she would dedicate her future work to honouring Gaza’s fallen reporters. “I don’t know what it means to begin to honour the courage and sacrifice of journalists in Gaza – the bravest and best to ever live – but going forward I will direct whatever contributions I have to offer with that front of mind.”

At least 20 people, including five journalists, were killed on Monday after Israeli airstrikes hit al-Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, Palestinian health officials confirmed.

According to The Guardian, those killed include Hussam al-Masri, a Reuters cameraman; Mariam Abu Dagga, a freelance reporter with the Associated Press; Mohammed Salam of Al Jazeera; and Moaz Abu Taha, who worked with NBC. Another Reuters journalist, photographer Hatem Khaled, was seriously injured.

Footage broadcast by al-Ghad TV showed civil defence workers and journalists in bright orange vests rushing to recover al-Masri’s body when they themselves came under fire. In their final moments, the rescuers raised their hands for protection before being struck.

PoliticsSokoto Spends ₦1 Billion On Lawmakers’ Vehicles by okrote4real(op): 6:40am On Aug 26, 2025
This comes after N3.682 billion was spent on the same purpose in 2024. Combined, the state has spent a total of N4.682 billion on vehicles for lawmakers and management staff over 18 months.

The Sokoto State government has spent N1 billion on purchasing 30 vehicles for House of Assembly lawmakers and management staff within the first six months of 2025, SaharaReporters can confirm.

This comes after N3.682 billion was spent on the same purpose in 2024. Combined, the state has spent a total of N4.682 billion on vehicles for lawmakers and management staff over 18 months.

On average, each of the 30 vehicles costs about N156 million.

The spending has drawn scrutiny, particularly given that Sokoto State has the highest number of impoverished citizens in Nigeria, according to the Multidimensional Poverty Index published by the National Bureau of Statistics.

According to the data, 5.81 million persons in Sokoto are poor, the highest in the country.

While the state splashes billions on 30 vehicles for its lawmakers, 60% of households in the state lack access to sanitary facilities.

Another 49% of households in the state lack access to clean drinking water. The statistics further show that 52% of children of school age lack access to education.

Despite spending N1 billion between January and June 2025 alone on the purchase of the vehicles, it spent only N50 million on rehabilitation/repairs of water facilities.

The state’s spending on vehicles between January and June 2025 comes despite generating N10.1 billion in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) during the same period.

This indicates that roughly 10% of the state’s IGR was allocated to the purchase of 30 additional vehicles for lawmakers and House of Assembly management staff.

Further review shows that between January and June 2025, only N39.9 million was spent on rehabilitation/repairs of hospitals/health centres.

There have been concerns over prudence in the management of resources by states, especially amid developmental needs and pressing issues such as poverty.

2027: OBO Youth Movement Backs Akpanke, Demands Senate Seat Return to Constituency

Hon Chief Peter Akpanke, the Member of the House of Representatives representing Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwarra Federal Constituency and Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on FCT Area Councils, on Monday welcomed members of the OBO Youth Movement to his office at the National Assembly as they call for Cross River North Senatorial seat to return to the Federal Constituency.

Led by the Movement’s Director General, Comrade Imbufe Solomon, the group visited to share their vision and advocacy plans ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Their main goal is to ensure fair political representation, specifically by calling for the Cross River North Senatorial seat to return to the OBO Federal Constituency.

Comrade Dr. Paul Anyin, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, spoke on behalf of the group, highlighting an imbalance in the distribution of the senatorial seat.

He noted that by 2027, the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, with just two local government areas, will have held the seat for 20 of the last 28 years.

In contrast, the OBO Federal Constituency, which includes Obanliku, Obudu, and Bekwarra, has only held it for eight years.

In response, Hon. Akpanke thanked the group for their visit and praised their unity and forward-thinking approach. “I truly value your thoughtful and mature approach to this issue,” he said.

“While my focus remains on my current mandate, I welcome this discussion and applaud your proactive efforts for our constituency’s future.”

He urged the youth to stay peaceful, strategic, and united in their push for fairness and development across Cross River North.

The meeting concluded positively, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to the growth, fairness, and unity of the constituency.

Lagos State Government Demolishes Alaba Rago Market and Mosques After 50 Years

The Lagos State Government has demolished the Alaba Rago Market, a well-known commercial hub largely occupied by Northern Nigerian traders who have conducted business there for over five decades.

Authorities explained that the decision was taken because the market had expanded excessively into the city, creating congestion and disorder in the surrounding area.

Traders, however, expressed outrage, lamenting that they were not given prior notice before the demolition. “We have spent more than 50 years building this market. We struggled to establish our businesses here. Yet, in a single day, everything was demolished without any notice. We counted no fewer than 40 mosques destroyed,” one trader said.

The demolition has triggered intense emotions and raised pressing concerns about compensation, resettlement, and the impact on ethnic relations in Lagos.
