Nairaland / General / CUPP Exposes More Shocking Details Of Voters Register Fraud, Hails INEC by okrote4real: 2:41pm On Nov 21, 2022
*Says those behind fake registrations plotting to compromise INEC BVAS

The coalition of opposition political parties, CUPP, has unveiled further troubling details in the voters’ register.

CUPP spokesperson Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere made the disclosure while addressing a world press conference on Monday.

This is coming shortly after its expose on Imo that showed fake registrations in the voters’ register and pointedly identified those behind the compromise the register.

Ugochinyere went further to commend the INEC Chairman for his swift action in the publication and cleaning up the register and the announcement that so far, over 2.7 million fake registrations have been weeded off the register.

While noting that this action from INEC will harm the plan of those behind the fake registrations that were done to undermine a credible electoral process, he, however, released evidence that there are more fake registrations by way of underage voters, multiple registrations with one identity, registration of dead or foreign persons, particularly by the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu.

CUPP then called on INEC and the Security Agencies to ensure that the culprits behind the fake registrations were arrested and prosecuted.

He said they not only plot to taint the voters’ register but also want to stop the use of BVAS in the February elections by planning the removal of the INEC chairman on trumped-up charges for refusing to do their bidding.

CUPP thus warns well-meaning Nigerians the courts and security agencies to resist this plot from those who only want to undermine the proposed credible elections by arresting and removing the INEC chair on fraudulent claims.

“It is for this purpose that the Nigerian opposition and indeed all Nigerian citizens of goodwill have resolved that we shall resist and reject any form of arrest of the INEC Chairman when he returns to the country. We shall also vehemently resist and reject every form of resignation from office by the INEC Chairman either forced or otherwise or any other form or method of removal from office as the Omuma Magic initiators now speak more boastfully and assuredly than before.

Crime / Security Forces Neutralize Notorious Bandit Commander ‘dogo Maikasuwa’ by okrote4real: 5:41pm On Nov 11, 2022
KDSG Security Update: Friday 11th November 2022

Security Forces Neutralize Notorious Bandit Commander ‘Dogo Maikasuwa’

After an era of terrorizing citizens and evading security forces, the Kaduna State Government can authoritatively report that the notorious bandit commander known as ‘Dogo Maikasuwa’ has met his end.

The development was made known in an operational feedback from security agencies. A blurred photograph of the neutralized bandit leader is attached with this statement.

Painstaking investigations revealed atrocities he carried out with impunity in hard-to-reach locations.

Dogo Maikasuwa, also known as ‘Dogo Maimillion' led series of attacks and kidnappings of citizens plying the Kaduna-Kachia Road, and in communities within Chikun and Kajuru LGAs. He was one of the deadliest bandits leading other elements in terrorizing citizens of these general areas.

According to human intelligence sources, he was always dressed in green camouflage military fatigues and wielding an AK47 rifle. Such was his appearance during the duel with security forces which ultimately consumed him.

It was also gleaned that he led his bandits to engage in operations with cruelty, often killing kidnapped victims when ransoms were delayed or considered meager.

In his final stand, the notorious bandit in the company of his foot soldiers ran into an ambush laid by operatives in a forest in the Gengere-Kaso general area, around the Chikun and Kajuru boundaries.

The security forces after the fierce battle successfully neutralized the bandit leader and recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, five rounds of ammunition, two motorcycles and one set of camouflage military fatigues.

The other bandits escaped with gun wounds. It was further gathered that one of them died from injuries sustained in the fierce battle, with his remains carried away by other fleeing elements.

The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, received the feedback with gratitude and commended the personnel for their bravery in the fierce battle against the bandits.

Politics / APC Integrity Movement Urges Support For Flood Victims by okrote4real: 1:03am On Oct 26, 2022
The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Integrity Movement (ANIM) For Asiwaju/Shettima 2023, on Tuesday called for concerted efforts to support victims of flood disaster across the country.

The ANIM made the appeal in a statement signed by Abubakar Sa'adu Fakai, its
National Leader.

ANIM is a political support group made up of past political office holders, including past APC NEC members and some serving zonal Leaders of the party.

''We wish to appeal to Nigerians, governments at all levels, corporate organisations, as well as spirited individuals, to lend a helping hand to victims of the current devastating floods in Kogi State and some parts of the country,'' Fakai said.

According to him, It is only through collective action and commitment to each other's co-existence that the country willbe able to surmount every challenge it is confronted with.

''Times like these come to test our resolve as a people, person and what better ways than to be there for each other.

''The ANIM feels it is a duty we owe ourselves as citizens to give all we can in support of those affected by this disaster.

''We therefore solicit for support for our brothers and sisters in these difficult times,,'' ANIM said in the statement.

It expressed hope that Nigerians' humanity as a people will take the lead in overcoming any situation.

ANIM, however, warns of politicisation of the issue as it observed that some people were using the unfortunate incidents to score cheap political goals.

''Natural disasters are not peculiar to Nigeria alone.

''So let us guide against unnecessary utterances that seek to tear our very fabric of existence.

''Instead, let us strive to be patriots of our dear country by promoting those values that promote and unite us as one indivisible people.

''We only pray and hope that even in the midst of challenges such as disasters and insecurity, we will stand firm with each other; only then can we be victorious,'' Fakai said.

Politics / Aspiring PDP Lawmaker In Edo Risks Jail Term by okrote4real: 12:07pm On Oct 23, 2022
An Edo PDP House of Assembly Aspirant, Izirin Ohioze Elakhe is in imminent danger of a Jail term.

An aspirant who sought to represent Owan West Constituency in the just concluded PDP Primaries for the Edo State House of Assembly, Izirin Ohioze Elakhe, is in imminent risk of going to jail as a consequence of being in contempt of a judgment of court.

Information available to us indicates that a Lagos State High Court, presided over by Justice A. M. Nicol Clay, had, in a petition instituted by Ms Ndidi Iyamu for the dissolution of the marriage between her and the Edo politician, with suit number ID/492WD/2013, dissolved the marriage on the ground that it had broken down irretrievably based on the petitioner’s testimony of domestic violence and drug abuse.

Sole custody of the only child was awarded to Ms Iyamu with the politician granted reasonable access to the child. The dissolution order became absolute on the 3rd of March, 2019.

It is on record that Mr Elakhe participated in the trial and was duly represented by counsel.
Reliable sources informed us that trouble started in October, 2021, when Ms Iyamu, in a bid to give a balanced childhood to the child who has been in her custody since birth, allowed the boy, who is 11 years of age, to spend the midterm break with his father in Abuja.

Events took a turn for the worse when Mr Elakhe refused to relinquish Master Alec to his mother when the one week mid term break was over.

The man rebuffed every entreaty, including from official quarters like FIDA and the Nigerian Police, relying on the strength of his relationship with a former Inspector-General of Police who he calls Uncle to frustrate every effort to rein him in and restore custody to the woman.

He reportedly registered the boy in a school in the Kuje part of Abuja, and has since then barred the mother from seeing or speaking with her son.

When contacted, Ms Iyamu bemoaned the level of lawlessness her ex husband had exhibited in the matter, insisting that he was bent on frustrating her efforts to reclaim her son while his Elder brother, a claimed pastor, entreated her to accept the abduction of her child in good faith .

According to her, Mr Elakhe had remarried even before the judgment dissolving their own marriage in 2018, and wondered why a stranger would be in custody of her only child, while depriving her of the mother-son bond which she has vehemently refused to monetise.

She was emphatic that she would not give up her son and it was pure wickedness for Mr. Elakhe, who now relies on his political affiliations as back up, to have taken her son as payback for refusing to remain in an abusive marriage in 2013.

She is determined to take steps to commence contempt proceedings against her ex husband for willfully frustrating the clear orders of the 2018 Judgment by forcefully keeping Alec in his custody, contrary to the judgment.

Speaking on the matter, Aja N. Aja, a lawyer, stated that the judgment of the court granting custody to the petitioner was a valid and subsisting judgment of a competent court of law.

He was of the view that Mr Elakhe risked serving time in jail if his ex wife escalated the matter by serving on him relevant court processes and advised the man to release the child to the mother as his actions amounts to a flagrant disregard of law and an abrogation of the child’s rights.

Efforts to speak with Mr Elakhe were not successful as the phone line provided was not connecting.

Crime / Groups Gives FG 14 -days Ultimatum To Withdraw National Honours From Teni by okrote4real: 5:39pm On Oct 21, 2022
Groups Gives FG 14 -Days Ultimatum To Withdrawal National Honours From Teni,Tuface Burna Boy, Ezra Others

Comrade Olumuyiwa Onlede,
Executive Director, Citizens Awareness Against Corruption and Social Vises Initiative CAACASVI has urged the Federal Government to review some of its honours award on some personalities.

The CAACASVI made this known in a letter to Sen. George Akume
Honourable Minister,
Federal Ministry of Special Duties &
Inter- Governmental Affairs on Friday in Abuja.

The letter which was also copied to President Muhammad Buhari was titled"
APPRAISAL AND DEMAND ON 2022 NATIONAL HONOURS AWARD".

The Executive Director stated in the letter that a rigorous review of the Honours award be carried out in line with extant rule governing the National Merit Award.

According to the group the outcome of the review must lead to stripping some of the awardees of their award, e.g Teni, Tuface Idibia, Burma Boy and Ezra Olubi, e.t.c.

The request is not targeted towards any one in particular but towards attitudes that does not portray them as deserving such award.

" Honourable Minister Sir, we hereby request that you initiate the process of this review within fourteen (14) days, in order to right the wrong and to serve as deterrent and corrective measure to any Nigeria that has the opportunity of meeting the president to know that what he represent is bigger that any one no matter their reservation".

This fight can not be left unfought, so therefore if after the 14 days ultimatum nothing is done we will explore all constitutional options including peaceful demonstration at you office to press home our demand.

Your Excellency it is with greatest honour that we write this letter to you as the supervising minister overseeing the Nigerian National Merit Award, organisers of the national honours award.

Sir, our observation about the just concluded award ceremony is as that of other patriotic Nigerians who believe in the country and the leadership capacity to move the nation to her promise land no matter the challenges being faced at the moment.

Just like every other objective opinion leaders, you will agree with us that the different scenarios that played out during the award ceremony is a negative verdict on the organisers of the event, from selection of awardees to presentation.

Less we forget, the National Merit award was instituted to recognise and honour deserving Nigerians for their outstanding feats in their various fields and endeavours that has turn around to bring repute to the name, image and integrity of the country be it at home or in the Diaspora.

As such those to be considered for the award must be people with impeccable character over the years.

In as much as we recognise the merit in most of the awardees, we are yet to come to term with how most awardees got their names into the list, for example one Ezra Olubi whose look from his lips and finger nails did not go down well with the President that presented him with the award, the President’s reaction was a testimony.

We also believe the merit award should be for those that knows the value, yet to our amazement most of the awardees merely sent representatives to receive the award on their behalf on flimsy excuses of having another engagement even when they must have been notified for a long time.

This is an action that we believe shows how unpatriotic some of them can be and how easily they can insubordinate Nigeria for other things.

The question is, had the president delegated one of his aides to represent him at the event, what will be the reaction of opinion leaders and the pulse in the society.

We can not go on without referring to the saddest talking point of the event where Teni a musician and awardees utterly embarrassed the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces who painstakingly stood for over four hours to present the award to the recipients.

Again what instinct and what survey gave the organisers the conviction that Teni is on the merit side of receiving an award.

Again the President’s look and reaction to her attitude speaks volume.

Your Excellency sir, as a former chief executive of a state if you delegate a commissioner to organise an event like this in your state and it turns out the way of the 2022 merit award, what appraisal will you give to the commissioner.

Sir, we like to let you know that the event did not go down well with patriotic Nigerians and as such the need to make the following demands to forestall future occurrence.

The troops after clearing out the bandits stormed the hideouts and rescued ten kidnapped persons who were chained and bound with ropes. The images attached depict the dire situation in which the hostages were found.

The troops untied the hostages, who were identified as follows:

- Surajo Aliyu
- Ayuba Yakubu
- Ibrahim Abdulrasheed
- Aliyu Mohammed
- Magaji Tasiu
- Nasiru Ahmed
- Mohammadu lbrahim
- Ayuba Abdulsalam
- Kelvin Musa
- Paul Patrick

The troops who came under further attack in the thick forest, successfully evacuated the hostages to a military facility where they are receiving medical attention before being reunited with their families.

Furthermore, a camp was cleared at Rafin Gwaska, Igabi LGA, where the following items were recovered, among other effects:
- Three locally made rifles
- One AK-47 magazine
- One AK-47 top cover
- Four Bafoeng radio chargers
- Eleven mobile phones
- Three music boxes
- Two sets of military uniforms
- One frag jacket
- Spanners, knives and chains

The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufa'i noted the report with satisfaction, and thanked the troops for the rescue of the ten citizens. The Governor commended the troops for the relentless spirit displayed in the ongoing operations, and encouraged them to sustain these efforts to ultimate victory.

Citizens are strongly advised not to harbour or provide medical aid to suspicious individuals carrying what may be gunshot wounds. Such cases are to be immediately reported to the Security Operations Room on the lines 09034000060 and 08170189999.

Properties / Fraud: Beauty Queens Tackle BSTAN Group Boss, Promise To Disrupt October Fair by okrote4real: 10:09am On Sep 12, 2022
This year's edition of the BSTAN House Fair scheduled to hold in October 2022 is facing imminent disruption by angry Queens over the blatant refusal of the organisers to pay winners of last year's fair.

The aggrieved beauty Queens who specifically called out the founder and CEO of BSTAN Group, organisers of BSTAN House Fair, Dr Becky Olubukola, accused her of refusing to pay them their monies as well as withholding job opportunities promised them in their terms of engagement and forms bought.

According to the Queens, after participating in the event and various categories of winners emerging, the organisers have, till date, reneged on their contractual obligations even rebuffed every attempt at meeting them.

In a briefing to KAKAAKI REPORTERS, one of the queens, Mary Obadofin said "After the show, we were promised on a set date to come collect our winnings but till date, nothing has been done. Series of meetings have been held with Representatives of the organisation and unfulfilled promises continue to be made till date.

"In the month of July 2021 , I received a call from a friend to inform me of the BSTAN National House Fair event to showcase their various houses, lands and promote the brand further. She told me that they are also organising a beauty pageant for beautiful ladies and there are prizes to be won.

"I was reluctant at first but because of the confidence I have in the person as a woman and mother, I decided to register with N5,500 which she was the person I even asked to collect my receipt due to my work. A month later I was asked to come to BSTAN Homes for audition which I did.

"I went there with friends and after the screening and answering most of the questions, I made it through as contestant number 1 and I was given a topic to go work on as my project to present in camp before the event proper. The title of my project was "The Importance Of A Girl Child In The Society."

"A booklet of Ticket was also handed to me to sell to friend that will come and support me on the day of the event, each ticket is N10,000 and I have 10 tickets in the booklet which is N500,000. I sold N120,000 from tickets and none of the people I sold the tickets to used it, because their entrance was open to everyone, in other words, we were fooled.

"We were asked to pay N30,000 each as camp fee and resume on October 5, 2021 to prepare us for the event proper. At camp we went through vigorous dancing steps, catwalk and exercise just to bring colour to the event.

"On Saturday October 9, 2021 which was the grand finale I was pronounced 2nd runner up with certificate, sash and crown presented to me and my prize for the 3rd place was supposed to be N250,000 cash prize, an Ambassadorial Deal and Employment as part of the agreement before registration.

"But as I speak, I am yet to receive any of the prizes. I and the other winners (Winner and 1st runner up) decided to write them and remind them of the agreement and our prize," she stated.

Another of the disenfranchised Queen who bared it all to KAKAAKI REPORTERS, Marie Kent, also narrated her tale of woes with BSTAN Group.

Her words: "On the October 9, 2021, a beauty pageant was held and hosted by a housing company named BSTAN which had 12 beauty queens contesting to win the grand prize of N500,000 a brand new car, a land, a Job at the company and an ambassadorial deal.

"After the pageant, I, Marie Kent emerged the winner and was given my award certificate on stage and my cheque and the car key of the car I won. The event had the likes of The OONI of Ife, actors and actresses , our friends and family were also there to witness the event.

"After the event, the CEO of Bstan homes, Dr Becky Olubukola spoke to us and promised our prizes would be given to us after a week. Unfortunately, this is already getting to a year now and nothing has been given, not even the job or ambassadorial deal.

"We were invited to the office after sending a letter, requesting for our prizes. We were told by the company’s secretary that the company isn’t responsible for the pageant and Dr Becky isn’t the one who is meant to give us our prizes. This was fraudulently stated while we all know she was in charge and came to promise us our prizes.

"After all the stress we faced physically, mentally and financially, would I end up getting nothing in return? That can never be possible. If they don't do the needful by paying us our due, we will block all entrance to the next event in October and continue making statements in the press to ridicule the already bad reputation the organization has," she revealed.

All efforts to get the founder and CEO of BSTAN Group, Mrs Becky to react to the allegations proved abortive as phone calls and texts messages where not answered as at press time.

However, the organization sent out a text message announcing it would be having the NHF 6.0 at the ICC , Abuja.

Politics / APC To AYU: Please Leave Us Out Of Your Hot Mess by okrote4real: 12:58pm On Sep 06, 2022

SEPTEMBER 06, 2022
PRESS STATEMENT

*AYU, PLEASE LEAVE APC OUT OF YOUR HOT MESS*

As he struggled to deny a statement credited to him that Governor Nyesom Wike could not father a child, the National Chairman of the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, alleged, ridiculously, that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and "other mischievous people" were planting such stories in the media and stoking the feud between him and the Rivers State Governor.

Understandably, Chairman Ayu is deep in quicksand and swinging wildly in search of third parties to blame for the internal combustion in the party that he leads.

With such an escapist mindset, it is not difficult to see why the meltdown in the PDP has proved intractable on his watch. Lacking forthrightness and character to accept responsibility for the crisis in his party, how can he possibly resolve it?

Unlike the party of Ayu, APC does not “plant stories” and does not meddle in the internal affairs of other parties. That is an area of extreme and unrivaled competence of the PDP.  In any event, the PDP is unraveling unstoppably and needs no help from the outside.

Rather than distract himself in search of an illusory scapegoat, Ayu and stakeholders of his withering PDP should concentrate on finding an anchor to slow the Party’s rudderless drift.

How can a party that has proved incapable of governing itself seek to govern a country as important as Nigeria? After 16 years of ruthless misgovernance and crass failure to reform and reposition itself, quite frankly, the PDP stands morally disqualified from asking Nigerians for their votes in the next general election.

On our part, we will remain focused in search of new and creative ways of improving the quality of life of our people, and working to convince them to renew our mandate again in 2023.

Crime / Hundreds Of PDP Youth Groups Lay Down Arms, Defect To APC by okrote4real: 4:29pm On Sep 05, 2022
The opposition PDP Youth groups today announced their defection from the party to the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, citing being used as thugs by their former party, PDP as a major reason for their action.

Speaking while announcing their defection from the PDP, leaders of the groups, Baba Karami and Garba Lawal (Vice) who spoke separately when they were received by the former Gusau local government council chairman, Alhaji Babangida Abdullahi Fagacin Gusau, the youth leaders lamented how the PDP used them as political thugs causing disorder and lawlessness on the instructions of the PDP leaders.

They also accused the PDP of abusing their status as leaders of tomorrow as they were given weapons and drugs which they used against many of their victims while the PDP leaders' children were made to go to school without having to participate in thuggery.

They begged the APC and the good people of Zamfara for forgiveness on the pains they inflicted on them, surrendered the local weapons they used in intimidating people and promised never to go back to the bad ways.

The youths who described Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle and his leadership style as the best thing to happen to Zamfara, urged him to engage them positively so that they can contribute to the growth and development of Zamfara.

While receiving them, the former Chairman of Gusau local government, Alhaji Babangida Abdullahi expressed happiness over the right decision taken by the youth.

He said the Matawalle-led leadership in Zamfara aims to empower the youth rather than make them marauders terrorizing the citizens especially during political activities.

The former council boss who assured the new APC members that they will be treated equally as other members, said they will be engaged into positive ventures in the state.

He noted that the defecting youths have further exposed how the PDP under the flagship of Dauda Lawal Dare intends to occupy the minds of the youth calling on other youths yet to realize that, to re-examine how they are being used so that they can come to the APC and be good citizens.

Politics / PDP Fanning Embers Of Hate, Disunity by okrote4real: 2:56pm On Sep 05, 2022

SEPTEMBER 05, 2022
PRESS STATEMENT

*PDP FANNING EMBERS OF HATE, DISUNITY*

Rattled by the recent statesmanly visit of our Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) has hit the panic button in false alarm, saying the move won't help our candidate and party.

Again, the PDP proves itself as a party afflicted with chronic myopia, lacking in vision and incapable of recognizing the imperative of elevating the common good of our country above partisan quibbles. That party’s obsession with puerile partisanship blinds it to existential and strategic opportunities to heal old wounds, mend fences, and build bridges of national unity and harmony. Sadly, the PDP would rather fan the embers of hate and division.

Asiwaju’s consultative visit to the former President was a strategic move for national unity and cohesion, a move worthy of commendation and emulation.

The infantile outburst on the Asiwaju/Jonathan parley by the same PDP that claims to be on a self-styled mission to unify Nigeria only betrays the party’s extreme hypocrisy and folly.

The PDP’s track record of 16 years of misrule, corruption and squandermania, remains indelible in the consciousness of Nigerians.  Contrary to PDP's laughable claim that the duo of Asiwaju Tinubu and Sen. Shettima are distancing themselves from President Buhari’s administration, it is on record that this government deftly managed two economic recessions, and pulled the nation back from the precipice where PDP's years of atrocious rule left it hanging precariously.

Our party and its Presidential Candidate are seeking the mandate of Nigerians to consolidate on the foundation of restoration and greatness that has been laid across all sectors by the Buhari administration. The PDP and it’s co-peddlers of hate and disunity cannot stop this noble aspiration.

Politics / EXCLUSIVE: Obi Agrees A Deal To Clear Path For Atiku’s Emergence by okrote4real: 9:17am On Aug 28, 2022
Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has reunited with his old boss and PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar, as both parties reportedly agree to a deal to secure the emergence of the latter at an eyebrow-raising meeting held in London this week.

Mr. Peter Obi was running mate to Atiku in 2019 when he challenged for the presidency on the PDP platform and he has repeatedly demonstrated his enduring loyalty to the former Vice President, including recently at the 62nd NBA Conference where his apparent deference formed part of the talking points.

His attendance at the PDP fence-mending meeting in London on Thursday piqued the curiosity of several Nigerians who were dismayed by his open fraternization with members of the “entrenched political class” he is purportedly not a member of and is running to ‘depose’.

The meeting was a gathering of the PDP old and new boys, including Donald Duke, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, and Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State.

The meeting was a reunion of PDP old and new boys.

Although his advisers tried to minimize the potential damaging fallouts of his presence at the high-stake meeting with a careful omission of the former Anambra Governor in pictures of the PDP powerbrokers convening at a table to bargain and agree on political settlements central to the party’s victory in 2023, sources familiar with the discussions have told Podium Reporters that Obi played more than the role of a bystander and was a major discussion point.

We were reliably told that the meeting, also attended by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, was aimed at re-uniting the ranks of the PDP and ensuring that the party posts a united front in 2023 against the ruling APC.

Despite the attention showered on Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike considering his open rebellion threats and recent camaraderie with figures of the APC that gave rise to speculations of a possible decamp, our sources maintained that securing an alliance with Obi, who has managed to excite a notable section of young electorates after leaving the party for the Labour Party, was the more immediate goal of the meeting.

According to our sources, Atiku acknowledged at the meeting that Obi’s emergence as a candidate and soaring popularity amongst a group of electorates have complicated his victory calculations, especially in the Eastern region of the country where he is looking to shore up numbers to make up for a predicted loss in the North East where the popularity of the APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, is expected to deliver the region to the ruling party.

Atiku also noted that Obi’s online clatter – much of which has been criticized as characterized by abuse, intimidation, fake news, and driven by secessionist IPOB propaganda network – has drowned out his campaign and threatens his ability to unite the populace behind his preferred electoral narrative as the official opposition to the APC.

To forestall the envisaged danger, Atiku made an offer to Obi to rejoin the PDP family and help clear the path for his emergence, our sources said. Although it remains unclear whether or not the deal includes a possible step down from Obi at the final hour, we were able to gather that both parties agreed to work together to deny the APC votes in certain parts of the country where Obi will effectively play the ‘spoiler’ role.

This also includes the South-west region where Obi has been tasked to continue his posturing as the ‘better alternative’ to the duopoly of the APC and PDP as a decoy to steal votes that would have otherwise gone to the APC. He was also asked to contribute to the PDP’s outreach to the Eastern region where Atiku is looking to diffuse growing tensions and re-establish the PDP as the popular choice.

Obi’s acceptance to play the spoiler role and clear the path for the emergence of Atiku and PDP in 2023 was conditioned on the promised reward of a very senior position in a possible PDP administration should Atiku win the election, our sources claimed. We were not able to ascertain the actual position promised to the former Anambra governor from our sources.

Other sources contacted to ascertain the reward that convinced Obi to join forces with his old boss speculated a possible swap which would see Obi reclaim his previous position as running mate, although that is certain to face legal obstacles. Others have said he may be made to preside over the management of the economy in an Atiku administration.

Religion / Book Promotion: Adesina Extols Kumuyi's Stance For Truth by okrote4real: 6:43pm On Aug 22, 2022
The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, has extolled the Founder and General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, on his consistent stance for truth over the years.

Adesina stated this at the Special Promotion of the book 'Kumuyi: Defender of the Faith', in Abuja.

Speaking on the book, he said the book should be in every hand and distributed in millions across the country and beyond, and promised to be part of it for effective dissemination of the Book.

The book was authored by some leaders in the Deeper Life Bible Church who felt it became imperative for them to document the life and Ministry of Kumuyi in a book for Nigerians and posterity to read and emulate.

He said: "The subject of that book is a voice you can trust. Pastor Kumuyi is a man you can trust and anywhere we can present Pastor Kumuyi.

"He is not a partisan voice, he is a neutral person but respectable. He is apolitical but not indifferent to what is happening. His voice is not political band whatever he says is the truth nothing but the truth.

"He is a voice of moderation. There are some pastors who actually curse from the pulpit. They curse the country, president and everybody.

"We have a voice of hope and will tell you better days will come. That is what Jesus would have said. He is a voice of consistency."

He also urged Nigerians to patronize the book as it has great contents that would impact lives and generations unborn.

One of the authors of the book, a veteran journalist, Segun Babatope, said the essence of authoring the book is to ensure the entire life of the cleric and his Ministry of almost 50 years are to be documented for posterity and edification of the church universal.

"The perculiar life and Ministry of the General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, and the fact that they have been active for almost 50 years now, and with the entire life of commitment and consecration to God, we felt that this should be documented and not for any promotional strategy but for others, especially Ministers, and other leaders and workers in the kingdom of God to emulate and approximate.

"Like recording the trajectory of his life for posterity and for God's glory and that is what motivated us."

Babatope also expressed optimism that the book being written and launched is to be a tool for evangelism, edification and how churches should be run.

He also made it known that the book will be given to Nigerians free of charge, which is the essence of the launch.

"The books that are purchased here are going to be distributed free of charge. Nobody is going to sell them.

"It will be taken to universities, secondary and primary schools as well provide it as online of it, and will be translated to Yoruba, Arabic, Russian, Spanish and Portuguese so that it can spread round the frontiers of Nigeria", he added.

In an opening remarks, the former Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja and Chairman, Special Promotion of the Book, 'Kumuyi: Defender of the Faith', Prof Michael Adikwu, said, "Pastor Kumuyi, the book shows, remains rigidly apolitical, even though he is not
indifferent to the politics around him.

"He is aware of the social dynamics of politics in the affairs of men. And while he is surrounded in the society by the politics of the environment, he remains ever careful to be unspotted by it.

"He believes and teaches that all of man’s exploits, including his immense political forces, are all at the behest of the Almighty God."

However, pointing at the state of the nation, the university don urged Nigerians ahead of 2023 general elections to imbibe lifestyle of the cleric.

Also, the Coordinator, International Friendship Leagues, IFL, Joshua Alabi, said the League is non-denominational which use its platform to reach highly placed people with the gospel of Christ.

He said: "We have launched the book in Port Harcourt, Lagos, Abuja, and we are going round the whole State and beyond to make sure that this book is put on the table of everyone."

Earlier, the Chairman, International Friendship League, Abuja, Joseph Attah, in a welcome remark, explained that the presentation of the book is part of fulfilling the mandate Jesus Christ gave to preach the gospel, which is called the Great Commission.

"The book we are presenting today is a biography of the Founder of the service of God.

"His Ministry gave rise to what is popularly known today as Deeper Christian Life Ministry, a man of our time that has given all to the Deeper Life Bible Church."

The State Overseer, Deeper Life Bible Church, Abuja, Elijah Adebiyi, while speaking on whether the book is a dream come through for the clergyman after over 50 years in Ministry, he (Adebiyi) explained that, "On the context of his (Kumuyi) life and Ministry, the Lord has used him impact multitudes of people.

"He was not the one that wrote the book, some other people felt the story of this Man of God ought to be told for the sake of posterity in influencing and impacting the lives of people. Writing a book is not his goal. His own life is to serve God. I will say is a thing of benefit to the world."

He also pointed that there are many publications many in the market and many are still rolled out, which many of them have some useful academic purposes.

'But this one in particular is unique in the sense that even from the title we have the name of a Man of God well known in the country and worldwide, and then the subtitle there, 'Defender of the Faith' the faith there talks about the saving Faith, the faith that he is talking about is the sum total of what Christ has brought; the message of salvation and redemption.

"So, 'a Defender of the Faith' we are talking about as someone who stands in and stands up and stand out to make the faith that saves, transforms known and imbibed by the people."

AUGUST 15, 2022
PRESS STATEMENT

*DELEGATES DECIDED ADELABU'S FATE, NO ONE ELSE*

For a man who lost his bid for the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu's recent emotive outburst is understandable, but totally misled.

While featuring on "Political Circuit", a radio programme, Chief Adelabu alleged that he was robbed of the party's ticket because of his relationship with the Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

According to the former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, five Senators, including the President of the Senate, Sen. Ahmed Lawan; the National Chairman of APC, Sen. Abdullahi  Adamu; the National Secretary, Sen. Iyiola Omisore; the Chairman of Oyo Chapter of APC, Sen. Tokunbo Afikuyomi, and the APC standard bearer for Oyo State, Sen. Teslim Folarin, were involved in his imagined conspiracy to deny him the APC gubernatorial ticket in the state.

For the record, Chief Adelabu, who was the flag bearer of the party in 2019 general election, participated in the May 2022 primary election of the party and lost to Sen. Teslim Folarin. His fate was decided by delegates of the party and by no one else.

As a former flag bearer of the party, we expected him to explore and exhaust internal remedial mechanisms of the party or seek legal redress regarding any dissatisfaction he may have had with the primary election.

Having decamped to another political party,  rather than concentrate on his lackluster gubernatorial project, Chief Adelabu has busied himself with making wild and baseless allegations against some national leaders and chieftains of the APC.

While wishing Adelabu well in his new political voyage, we advise that he desists from vilifying and maligning respected chieftains and national officers of our great party.

Terrorists are consolidating their grip on communities in Kaduna with a “parallel” government and “permanent operational base” in the North-western state near Nigeria’s capital Abuja, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has told President Muhammadu Buhari, PREMIUM TIMES can exclusively report.

Mr El-Rufai warned the president of the terrorists’ consolidation in a late July memo, sighted by PREMIUM TIMES.

The terrorists belonging to Ansaru al-Musulmina fi Bilad al-Sudan, or Ansaru for short, are believed to have moved to Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State in 2012 when they broke away from Boko Haram.

According to intelligence reports and human sources consulted in further reporting for this story, the terrorists that formed Ansaru were responsible for some of the high-profile attacks claimed by Boko Haram before the split.

Such attacks included the UN building bombing of August 2011 and the kidnap of some foreigners. According to the sources, Ansaru pledged allegiance to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, AQIM, in 2020, and is responsible for many of the high-profile abductions as well as armed attacks on the police in Kaduna State.

But researchers and negotiators with an understanding of the working of the terrorists told PREMIUM TIMES that a collaboration of the terror groups, including the original Boko Haram – also called JAS -, ISWAP, Ansaru, and bandits, is evolving.

In 2021, 1,192 people lost their lives in Kaduna State due to banditry, terrorism, communal clashes, violent attacks, and reprisals. In the first six months of 2022, 645 people lost their lives in such circumstances across the state, the government said.

In Mr El-Rufai’s late July memo, he lay bare how the terrorists have infiltrated and dominated communities and formed “a parallel governing authority,” exercising control over social and economic activities and dispensation of justice in the area.

He said the terrorists have advanced in their plans to make Kaduna forest areas their “permanent operational base” for the North-west region, citing a “series of intelligence reports.”

“Observed movement patterns and intercepted communications of migrating terrorists have shown a clear interest in setting up a base, with the stretches of forest area between Kaduna and Niger states strongly considered,” he wrote.

Law banning 2023 political activities
As the political activities towards the 2023 general elections pick up steam, the terrorists, Mr El-Rufai told Mr Buhari, have promulgated a law to ban residents from participating.

“The insurgents enacted a law in the District, banning all forms of political activity or campaign ahead of the 2023 elections, especially in Madobiya and Kazage villages,” the governor wrote.

The Ansaru terrorists are known to have an extremist ideological posture against democracy and secular authorities.

In 2021, the census enumeration exercise could only hold in two of the 11 wards that form Birnin Gwari due to the threat of armed banditry and terrorism, officials in both the Kaduna State Government and the population commission told PREMIUM TIMES.

The ban on political activities, the governor said, followed a recent wedding ceremony involving the terrorists.

“According to actionable intelligence, members of the Jama’atu Ansarul Musulmina Fi’biladis Sudan (aka Ansaru) hibernating in Kuyello district of Birnin Gwari LGA recently conducted a nuptial ceremony during which they married two yet-to-be-identified female residents of Kuyello village,” Mr El-Rufai wrote.

“The ceremony was attended by various Ansaru members and witnessed by residents of the area. After the marital rites, insurgents in attendance reportedly conveyed the brides to the dreaded Kuduru forest, in the same District.”

Extracting revenues
In the area of adjudicating disputes, Mr El-Rufai said the terrorists “fined one Mu’azu Ibrahim, a resident of Kuyello community, the sum of One Million Naira for selling plots of land without the consent of the owners.”

In addition, with the government becoming removed from rural communities, leaving them at the mercy of violent criminals, terrorists, Mr El-Rufai suggested, are manning the ungoverned space and extracting revenues from the people.

“Multiple reports also exist of bandits and terrorists exacting protection levies and similar taxes from farmers and communities, in return for permission to cultivate their fields,” the governor said.

Terrorism researchers say that revenues from taxes and levies forced on ungoverned spaces – created by the failure or limited capacity of the government – are a major source of financing and sustenance for terrorists.

Like the Kaduna situation described by Mr El-Rufai, ISWAP terrorists based on the Lake Chad islands are also extracting huge revenues from the fishing activities and pastoralists operating in the area.

Mr El-Rufai, when contacted, said he would not comment on this story because his correspondence was supposed to be confidential communication to the president.

In 2016, he wrote a similar confidential letter to the president, warning that the Buhari administration was losing momentum just about a year after coming to power.

Crime / Investigate PSC Chairman Now–amb Coomassie Tells President Buhari by okrote4real: 7:35am On Aug 10, 2022
Following a petition by a commissioner at the Police Service Commission, PSC known as Naja’atu Muhammad, raising an alarm for an alleged multi-million-naira contract scam, mismanagement of resources and lack of due process in the management of the commission and urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to prosecute the chairman of the commission, Musiliu Smith, for arbitrarily awarding bogus contracts without following due process, Amb. (Dr) Husseini Coomassie has also called on the president to as a matter of urgency replace the commissioner until proven innocent.

In the petition dated June 29, 2022, Mrs Muhammad, who is representing Northwest at the commission, alleged that Musiliu Smith paid N447m for carpentry work; N200m for unknown project; N34m for recruitment portal design without consulting members of the Commission.

Speaking further, the UN SDG Ambassador who is also the Global Vice Chairman, Advocacy for Good Governance & Social Justice Network says Naja'atu Bala Mohd does not make flimsy allegations without proof to back it up.

In a statement made available to newsmen, he urge the president and to direct, as a matter of urgency and national interest, the EFCC/ICPC to investigate the chairman of PSC.

"Musliu Smith should be fired for the second time when found wanting. His appointment was a mistake in the first place, having failed to deliver in 1999 due to his incompetence as IGP at the time. His short tenure was full of irregularities which resulted in the first ever police nationwide protest/riot, that made president Obasanjo to dismiss him.

"Whoever recommended him to the President for his current appointment does not wish the police family well. The Naja'atu Bala Mohd I know does not make flimsy allegations without proof to back it up. We are sick and tired of series of incompetent and corrupt heads of agencies and parastatals, especially the regimental agencies, denting the hard earned image of this Administration by recommending people with questionable character.

"Therefore, as Mr President is serious with his anti corruption crusade, he should as a matter of urgency and national interest, direct EFCC/ICPC to investigate the Chairman of PSC with due diligence while on suspension.

"Not only him but the sledge hammer should be extended to the past Service Chiefs, IGP, CG of Immigration and others for allegedly enriching themselves with public funds under the guise of contracts and concessions.

"We cannot fold our arms and watch unpatriotic and corrupt Nigerians looting the country dry when given the opportunity to serve. Enough Is Enough!" He stated.
