The director general of Asiwaju Tinubu Presidential Campaign Organisation, Adebayo Shittu, has claimed that Muslims make up 65% of the southwestern part of Nigeria.

Shittu made the claim on Tuesday when he appeared on Focus Nigeria, an AIT show.

His comment had come amid the backlash trailing the Muslim-Muslim ticket of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tinubu, who is a Muslim, had earlier announced Kashim Shettima, former governor of Kano state, also a Muslim, as his running mate.

The development has continued to attract intense backlash with the Christian Association of Nigerian and others kicking against the move.

But speaking on the show, Shittu dismissed the criticisms.

According to him, “in the South-West of Nigeria, the Muslims constitute an average of 65%” of the population.

When asked if his claim was based on fact or projection, he said, “I don’t tell lies. You can investigate. Do your research.”

Osun Decides 2022: Oyetola refuses to congratulate Adeleke, sends message to security Operatives


Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, is yet to congratulate Ademola Adeleke, who has been announced the winner of Saturday’s governorship election.

Instead, he has said the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state will respond to the result of the poll after studying it.

This was contained in a statement signed by Oyetola’s Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, on Sunday.

“Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has taken cognisance of the results of the governorship election in the state as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday.

“He, however, noted that the party would be responding appropriately after studying the results and consulting with critical stakeholders of the party,” the statement read in part.

It added that the Governor has “directed security operatives to take adequate charge so as to prevent break down of law and order.”

Adeleke polled a total of 403,371 votes, while Oyetola got 375,027 to finish second.

For the past 7 years, the noisemaker from the East has not gotten it out of their system, the failure of PDP at the 2015 General election. While the Presidential candidate Goodluck Ebele Jonathan a seasoned politician has forgone the past and has agreed to work with the winner of the Administration of Mohammadu Buhari, the noisemaker from the east has been restless.

As part of their sorrowful expression, they called Nigeria a Zoo and categorically called all Northerner's Cows, they wished we were all killed by insurgents and reduced in population. They even referred to the northern Christian as slaves to the northern Muslims.

Even as of today I have seen a name-calling post online from an Igbo. It is a shame that they want Northerners Muslim and Christian to Support their Son to become the President.

Nobody forgets insults and abuses. I think they should first Apologies for their unruly behaviours first and desist from bad behaviour towards the northerners

I for one will not vote for Peter Obi and Will campaign against him until He Apologizes on behalf of his unculture and unruly Supporters.

How can you be calling your fellow man Cow just because your preferred candidate loses an election?

Well, My Male cousin called today after years of Ignoring me and asked how I've been preparing for the wedding, I asked which wedding? And he said the one his fiancee invited me for? I told him since I didn't receive it from him first, I wasn't planning on attending. He apologized to me, said he was very sorry and on his knees for not inviting me first. I accepted his Apology!

It's so heart-rending and gnashing to see how some of this guys have been laughing nad mocking Yoruba since this attack announced. This shows how hateful, vengeful, dangerous, envious and deadly someone from doted region can be.

Truly we have had a lot of arguments and different or contradictory view on nairaland but I don't think this should go to the extent of being happy and rejoicing on this tragedy that happened in our land today.

But as God will have it, it's obvious now that it's not only Yoruba people involved in the attack.

Dear Nairalanders, Good evening to you all. I'm in a state of delima right now and I'm so confused on what to do that's why I decided to bring the issue here.

I have a Cousin, he's wealthy and we used to be very close to each other, we do alot of things and talking together. Even when we do meet at Villa during festive periods, we are always together 24/7 that people do think I'm the one eating his money. (If cousins were to marry each other, we would've married ourselves)

So fast forward to 2020, things began to take a new turn, he began to change towards me completely, he hardly picks my calls, neither does he reach out to me thereafter to know why I called (Mind you, I'm not a leech to him, as my family were very comfortable too) When I lost my mom (May her soul rest in peace) this my said cousin never called me to sympathize with me, and I didn't hold it against him either. He started giving me space, I tried everything possible to know why the sudden space from him, but to no avail. So I kept my cool and distanced myself from him.

So fast forward to this 2022, his fiancee (Whom I knew her from him) called me on the 20th of last month to tell me that their wedding is on the 18th of this month and she would so much like me to be in attendance! My cousin never bothered informing me about it even till now!

Now my question is,' Should I honour the said invitation by his Fiancee and attend their wedding or I should stay back and call her to wish her Happy Married Life after their Wedding?

Please help me push this to front page so I'll get a wider audience to share their opinions.

General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has prophecies the emergence of a northerner as the next president of Nigeria.

He said this during his church’s convention in Abuja, saying that the northerners work as a team.

He illustrated his point with the stepping down of Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, for another northerner, Atiku Abubakar, at the Peoples Democratic Party’s convention in Abuja on Saturday.

The PUNCH had reported that Atiku Abubakar got 371 votes to beat his closest contenders, Nyesom Wike who polled 237, and the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who came a distant third with 70 votes.



Suleman said, “You saw what played out yesterday in Abuja? Why do you think the North has been in office and power for many years? Even if the North is not in the office, the North will be in power.


“If they are not in power, they will be in office. This is because the Southern region, especially South-South, are noisemakers. The North will allow you to finish making your noise then they will shock you. Atiku knew the Southerners were noisemakers, and he worked on it.

“They are 100 per cent loyal to themselves; that is why Tambuwal could take such a decision. All my Northern friends have not spoken ill of me, but the Southerners are the ones mocking me.”
