Aigbofa: Absolute bunkum to suggest only ibos are hardworking and therefore resented by their less ambitious and less hardworking hosts! How dumb, perhaps this is the type of mindset that cause others to resent you. The absolute disdain you have for your neighbors is certainly not a way to endear yourselves to them. Its a pity that you comprehend with your a.s.s. The lad said that Igbos are hard-working. So, its a now a crime for someone to be patriotic. Dude, visit a senile dementia therapist. |
Nsiman: Was the Honorable addressing profs or ordinary people? Even if was addressing profs? That law 'breaker' is of the hook. |
I served in Odi. Honestly, u need to visit BY. Yenogua is a one street capital (Melford Okilo road). No sign of development. Like someone said, the visible structures their, were the ones done by Alamco. Odi is about 30 minutes drive from Yenagoa but they are still to be connected to the national grid. There is no commercial activities going on their. The only successful dudes their are megalomaniacs called politicians. BY is really in a sorry state. |
Guys, do you know the meaning of 'finagafitable'? It simple means throwing chairs and table in his n ative dialect. The above word was used by Hon. Pat after the Patricia Ette imbroglio in the lower house. Imagine forming your own vocabulary with your native dialect. Its a pity that he tends talk to himself (a kinda soliloquy). I think this dude is not communicating at all. |

Nigeria nominates Galadima for CAF post Stories By MONICA IHEAKAM, South Africa Tuesday, November 23, 2010 The Nigeria Football Fedration (NFF) has nominated its former chairman, Ibrahim Galadima, to seek election into the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The endorsement was the government’s reaction to the disgraceful ouster of Amos Adamu from the executive committees of both CAF and FIFA for breaching FIFA’s code of ethics over the 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosting bids. Officials said that both the sports ministry and the NFF were in full agreement with Galadima's nomination. “Nigeria is fully backing Galadima to get on the CAF exco. “This was not the case with Ghana, for instance, where the government had a candidate and the FA had another.” •Galadima Photo: Sun News Publishing More Stories on This Section The official added: “Now, the government has to use its resources to ensure he is elected for Nigeria to still have a voice in international football.” Galadima's nomination, which included his CV, was Monday sent to CAF and so beat the Monday midnight deadline reserved for submission of nominations for the CAF polls. The elections into the CAF executive committee will be conducted in Khartoum, Sudan, in February. Besides Adamu's position, several other positions including that of Togo's Seyi Mememe and Amadou Diakite of Mali are up for grabs. Galadima was Nigeria FA boss between 2002 and 2006. The Kano-born football administrator, known for his forthrightness and integrity, won re-election for another four-year term only for the sports ministry then headed by Ismaila Sambawa to force a re-run of the elections which brought in Sani Lulu. Last year, Galadima headed a special committee which supervised Kano Pillars CAF Champions League campaign. Debutants Pillars reached the semi-finals of Africa's foremost club competition. |
Six trucks mainly used for military combat maneuvers and some military uniforms, a carton of bullets, an automatic pistol, military boots and tents have been impounded by the operatives of Nigerian Navy. The navy said the hardware were impounded last weekend at the Tin Can Island port during examination of a container from the United States. A naval intelligence source told Daily Sun that the weapons were discovered by its operatives during examinations of importedgoods loaded inside containers. and imported into the country. The trucks Daily Sun learnt had been taken to the naval base Apapa. It was gathered that the container was laden with communication equipment and military generators used to provide electricity for troops in theatre of war. The naval intelligence officers who spoke, but declined to mention their names said the hardware were allegedly imported in the container tagged personal effect but which contents turned out to be weapons when proper examination was conducted. detected in the container were two vehicles and other house hold items, including a 10 KVA generator and other personal effects. Daily Sun also gathered that when the examination was being conducted, men of the Nigeria Police, Tin Can Island Command took away the automatic pistol imported along with the bullets and camouflage uniforms. When Daily Sun requested that the pistol be exhibited alongside other arrested materials, it was revealed that the policeman who kept the gun had left the station. However, four men alleged to be importer and agents of the military hardware were paraded alongside the hardware, but the men said the hardware was not imported for war purposes. Although the importer declined to talk much on the items, he told Daily Sun that he never expected the parade. He said he was in the United States Marine and that the items belong to him. “These are my personal effect, this whole issue is so unnecessary; it is almost like a stage event. It is almost embarrassing to call myself a military man among the kind of thing that is happening right now,” the importer who was identified as Sheidu explained. |
Small thing, Naija people go carry am for head. I.e swag, peeps, fella, etc. That's Naija for u. |
How do u want FG to recognise him? The same forces that he supported during the civil war, were the forces that led him to rest in pieces. You people sold us Ndigbo for nothing and now i think u guys are reaping the fruits of your labour. What we (Ndigbo) saw decades ago were the same thing your egocentric militants are now fighting for. Nonsense! |

For IBB to disappear from our political scene, it's left for us the youths to take a clue from Ogun state SUG to attack any person/persons that sings his praises in Naija and in the diaspora. This guy is actually calling us fools by campaigning for the number one seat. |
I was deeply moved by what is going on in Nigeria political scene, with regards to the declaration of evil genius, Ibrahim Babangida to run for the country presidency during the forthcoming election. What peeved me was the comments by his supporters concerning the death of Dele Giwa, my late elder brother, they claimed that the matter of his death has been settled in the court and that Babangida have been acquitted of crime. It’s a known fact that Babangida has not been tried by any court in Nigeria for this particular murder, he has always been hiding behind immunity each time the case goes to the court. The only place where Babangida could have proven his case was at Oputa panel, but he refused to show his face. Nigerians and the family of Dele believe that Babangida masterminded the killing of Dele, except the gullies like Alex Akinyele and Raymond Dokpesi that think otherwise because of their personal gain from Babangida. Nigeria should know that the appointment of Akinyele by Babangida as the minister when he, Akinyele, was a Director Newswatch , was part of Babangida’s desperate move to settle and buy those who are close to Dele in order to shut them up, and Akinyele is one of them. For Dokpesi, I do not regard him as a noble man. He said that he and Dele were from the same Local Government area, therefore Nigerians should forget about his death just because of what he has been making from Babangida and what he still intend to make if Babangida if he mistakenly gets into power again. Nigeria should not forget how this man dealt with Abiola when he was in Abiola’s business. If not for his personal gain from IBB, I think he should be ignored. Akinyele and Dokpesi should stop rubbing salt on to our injuries and that of Nigerians by promoting bad products in the person of Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida. I call on Akinyele to resign as a Director of Newswatch Communication, if he has not done so. The family of Dele are still bleeding and hurting badly from Dele’s death. Time could not heal the wound. Dele’s mother is still there crying for justice. Every Nigerian is asking that justice must be done on Dele’s death: Oputa’s report must be visited on Dele’s matter. Babangida and his co-travellers must be put on proper trial, until when this is done, Dele's soul will not rest in in his grave. To Babangida, Akilu and Togun, God judgement is certainly awaiting them any day, anytime, where no human evidence is not required as they are asking Nigerians to do, because God knows and sees everything. Nigeria Union of journalist and the Nigeria Bar Association should mount pressure on the federal Government to release the report of Oputa panel with regard to Dele’s death. Nigeria Bar Association should take up the case from where Chief Gani Fawehinmi stopped before he passed away. Nigerians are waiting for justice to be melted out to the Nigerian greatest despot ever lived. I believe that no matter how long it takes IBB would not escape judgement over the inhuman murderous act against Dele Giwa and numerous Nigerians through commission and omissions befoer, during and after his inglorious regime. He lived this long to received his deserved punishment by going to jail and end up in the hell fire, not the Aso rock that he erroneously nurturing to return. His hands are full of bloodstains and the spirit of those he killed would continue to haunt him till he goes to grave. NEWSWATCH’S PEOPLE ARE TRAITORS. To the people at Neswatch communications. These people are cowards, traitors conscienceless human being: They betrayed and sold out their colleague and friend. Newswatch went down from number one magazine in Nigeria to no position, because of their cowardice and unpatriotic attitude. They departed sharply from the policy on which the magazine was established, immediately after Dele’s death. Newswatch would have been a conglomerate today if Dele is alive. If the dead can see the back, Dele would be regretting in his grave for having anything to do with these people. God judgement is also awaiting these people for betraying Dele and killed his baby, Newswatch. Tunde Giwa is immediate younger brother of late Dele Giwa. Mr Giwa lives in Barcelona Spain. Total Oil Company has threatened to pull out its $20 billion investment from Nigeria, if insecurity worsens, amid global anxiety at the weekend over renewed insurgency in the Niger Delta. But Abuja sent out an emissary to London to press its case against the West for arms dealing, blaming Europe for the violence in the oil producing states of West Africa. President Goodluck Jonathan’s Special Secretary, Hassan Tukur, told journalists in the British capital that the West collaborates with dissidents to raise the tempo of violence “and the reason for this, you know, is to protect their investments. “Even countries in the Gulf of Guinea would have gone to war if not for the brotherly role that Nigeria is playing and also the establishment of the Gulf of Guinea Commission.” Regardless, Total Chief Executive Officer, Christophe de Margerie, declared on Sunday that his company could be forced to quit Nigeria if insecurity deteriorates further. “If it gets worse, we may have to leave,” he told an investor conference in Paris. “We don’t have many employees kidnapped.” Three Total workers kidnapped in Nigeria have since been freed. The Joint Task Force (JTF) smoked out militants last Thursday and freed 19 hostages. Over 30 rifles, some 10,000 rounds of ammunition, and 12 machine guns were recovered, likewise laptop computers, radio communication equipment, assorted military uniforms, and an array of mobile phones and sim cards. Daily Independent reported exclusively on Friday Abuja’s directive for a total clampdown on “the resurgence of militancy in the Niger Delta.” The JTF on Saturday disclosed that it has, in its latest operation, arrested a militant leader and 62 of his followers suspected of involvement in a string of recent kidnappings of oil workers. The gang was paraded before the media at an Air Force base in the oil hub of Port Harcourt. JTF Spokesman Lt. Colonel Timothy Antigha said the militant leader and his underlings were responsible for the kidnapping of 19 oil workers, including several foreigners, who regained their freedom last Thursday. “It was the group that abducted the ExxonMobil workers and the Afren group workers and were responsible for other previous kidnappings and robberies in the past,” Antigha confirmed. The gang was captured in Borokiri, Rivers State, a senior military officer told AFP. “We had surrounded the whole place , so they had to surrender. They were forced to surrender because of fire power,” said the officer, who took part in the raid. “They didn’t deny any of the crimes and said they are sorry for what they did.” On the same Thursday, however, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) threatened more kidnappings of oil workers after the rescue of the 19 hostages. It had claimed responsibility for 14 of the hostages. It also claimed in a statement on Friday that its fighters had ambushed a convoy of JTF gunboats and killed a number of soldiers, but Antigha said he was not aware of such an attack. Many observers have noted that the amnesty granted militants in October last year has failed to address underlying issues of poverty and unemployment in the Niger Delta. Militant leaders given stipends in exchange for turning in their weapons would eventually be replaced by others, they warned. The MEND, which claims to be fighting for a fairer distribution of oil revenue, has also been seen as an umbrella organisation for criminal gangs. It is believed to have splintered, particularly over the amnesty. MEND leaders, John Togo, Africa, among others, have backed out of the amnesty programme and returned to the creeks to rekindle the embers of violent agitation. MEND Spokesman Jomo Gbomo last week renewed warning that the shadowy group would cripple the oil industry. People are beginning to move out of their communities fearing that the JTF may resort to aerial attacks as it did last year in the confrontation with insurgents in Gbaramatu. However, the JTF at the weekend ruled out using aerial bombardment in its renewed offensive against the insurgents, vowing to smoke them out. Antigha urged the people in riverside communities not to panic, saying the target is the elimination of the criminal gangs that destroy oil facilities and kidnap oil workers. Said he: “The attention of the JTF has been drawn to information circulating in the media that the JTF is set to commence an aerial bombardment of communities in the Niger Delta. This is false and not in the contemplation of the JTF now and in the future. “This falsehood is being sponsored by renegade militants and their sympathisers and should be disregarded. The target of the ongoing operation is the elimination of criminal gangs, their arms cache, and other assets identified and confirmed as their centres of gravity. “Traditional rulers and their subjects are advised to remain calm and continue to pursue their legitimate endeavours. Communities where these criminals are hiding are encouraged to call local JTF Commanders and turn them in immediately.” Culled from Independentngonline.com Nigeria on the blink of bursting. |
