Lordave: So other WAILERS who hate Buhari are even supporting him on this and yet your level of HATRED would not allow you to love yourselves by rebuking your elected representatives? Okay Kontinuuuu. |
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. PRESIDENT AND SHAME TO ALL THE HATERS AND WAILERS. |
Goldencollins: You sound as if a lady in your class or where you attended evening lessons together gave your the 'drop sack'. Eeyah not to worry by the time you are both 40 (she would be looking 55) you may meet her and her 60 year old hubby at a state dinner in the near future, and at your side would be your 25 year old wifey (and mother of two) looking hot in her syrian silk red gown, italian high heels and adorned in some choice jewels. Na dat time she go know say you be that bros wey she miss out. This things dey happen steady. I be proper example. |

THE 1985 GOLDEN EAGLETS (EMMANUEL AMUNEKE INCLUSIVE) WON THE MAIDEN EDITION ON SUNDAY AUGUST 11TH 1985 AND WAS RECEIVED BY THE THEN GENERAL BUHARI TWO DAYS LATE, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, TWO WEEKS AFTER RECEIVING THEM, ON TUESDAY AUGUST 27TH 1985, BUHARI'S GOVERNMENT WAS OVERTHROWN BY IBB. |
have said it before and I will repeat it again, any secession, even freely granted to the South East without the South South is an 'exercise in futility'. And I am not referring to their oil. No land-locked Country is even among the most developed nations on earth, ask Mauritania, Mali, Swatziland or even Ethiopia. Without the permission of your immediate neighbours there would be no access to the sea nor international airspace. No Country survives without trade, I have not seen anything that suggests that even in a referendum that the South-South would vote to leave Nigeria to be with the Igbos who unlike themselves are one ethnic group with intimidating credentials no matter the direction of the Igbos vote in 2011 and 2015 as regards an Ijaw man. We are industrious Yes! But that Industry can only be complemented by access to markets outside the South East (globally). Eighty percent of our businesses strive from importing/exporting to markets outside our region. In the event of a "Biafra" without the South South coast lines the cost of doing business will be higher, for those of us living in the "new Nigeria" we may be forced to pay residency permits. We have businesses and properties that may face higher taxes or even nationalized.Of course given our history of how we treat ourselves I can imagine that in our even more helpless condition (land locked republic) it would be dog eat dog. I say this because when the justle for power starts we might end up with another Fidel Castro in our hands who might take away our freedoms all too rapidly. Look at the way Biafran agitators threaten anybody who is not in suport of the agitation or at best neutral and imagine how it would be when they hold power. History repeats itself continually, look at our autonomous communities and how it has only achieved more division and less coordination in achieving a people's broader objectives. Even in the bible Samuel warned the Israelites against their agitation to have a king instead of judges but that warning fell on deaf ears. The summary of all said is that Igbos have not forged a common front nor seriously sought the consent of the broader southern minorities regarding this agitation. I think these are the first steps that are vital, any other approach (including the prevailing one) is simply put suicidal. ![]() |
AND I THOUGHT OLISA METUH SAID APC WOULD USE THE TRIBUNALS TO STEAL THEIR (PDPs) VICTORY. WHAT HAS HE GOT TO SAY NOW? |
Ponponkon: WHAT YOU HAVE SAID REMINDS ME OF ONE IJAW MAN, WEN TALK SAY POWER MUST REMAIN WITH THE IJAWS FOR 8 YEARS WHETHER THE 'NORTH' LIKES IT OR NOT. DON'T TELL ME YOU BELIEVE THAT THE NGWA POPULATION IS GREATER THAN ALL OTHER NON-NGWA (ABIANS OR NOT). THE VICTORY WAS BECAUSE OF PDP AND NOT TIED TO YOUR CLANNISH INTEREST JUST LIKE GEJ'S 2011 VICTORY WAS BECAUSE NIGERIANS VOTED HIM FROM ALL SECTIONS, BUT SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM IN 2015 WITH MYOPIC SENTIMENTS SUCH AS YOU EXPRESSED. ![]() |

Prof C.U Uche was confirmed a Professor in 2004, he was certainly less than 40 years of age at the time and HOD Banking and Finance depoartment. He later became the dean of faculty two years later. As a HOD and Dean he always ensured that lecturers under him submitted their results timely. He never sought after bribes nor encouraged its solicitation among his colleagues. He has scores and scores of publications in reputable international journals. As a reformer the non academic staff of the department/faculty were never late to work nor deliquent in public service and as soon as he left things went back to the way he met them. As a member of the monetary policy committee of the CBN Sanusi Lamido Sanusi relied on Professor Uche's vast knowledge on Banking regulations so much. As a whistle blower Uche stepped on powerful toes but he would never give up nor give in. Having supervised my Masters Dissertation, Professor Uche had a profound effect on my research abilities to which I am very grateful. People of Uche's mould are rare in this Country and sadly unappreciated. |

POWEROFPEACE: This is what I keep telling people. All this subsidy talk we have been hearing in the past will be incomplete if the greater chunk of subsidy means subsidizing corruption. SAI BUHARI!! |
That Senate decision that at least 2 of each state's Senate representatives must approve a nominee is very subjective. There are more objective ways of assessing and approving executive nominees at the Senate. For instance, the nominee's qualifications, cognate experience, evidence of criminal indictments or otherwise as well as public service record over the years. For the Senate leadership to tell Nigerians that 2 Senators per state must give their individual approval (perhaps flip a coin) before the Senate gives a nod is ludicrous and nothing but a ploy to overstep their normal legislative role. So you want to tell me now that if Mr. X is a nominee from Abia State and qualified for a ministerial position that he requires the likes of T.A Orji, Enyinnya Abaribe and Mao Ohuabunwa to approve? How much 'Ghana must go' bags will it cost the nominee and by extention tax payers? Is the Abia nominee going to serve the Senatorial zones in his State or the entire Country? This is a dangerous precedent capable of derailing the principles of separation of powers given that we are practicing (as it were) a federal system of government. |
