NYSCRe: Rivers State Corpers' Pain: A Plea to Gov. Nyesom Wike to Fulfil Allawee Promise by Okusi(m): 9:15am On Sep 15, 2016
I'm serving on an island where there's NO electricity (no pole) and my PPA is more or less like a sty. Tho we were given accommodation in somewhat a place that best fits chicken. Life for the past 10 months hasn't been rosy. Anytime I go to town i look like an outdated app cos i don't really know wassup in the real world anymore.
Nobody asked Gov. Wike of any payment, he promised to and he must fulfill cos he calls himself the #TalkAndDo governor.
I served in a place where gunshots is like frog croak.

@justwords and @skimmy005 well said. Some people here took the debate like an action movie, they only get concerned when the fight erupt not knowing the cause. Ize Iyamu didn't say anything about his plans for the State. Who cares about his Eluquency? He should ask Jimi Agbaje

EducationRe: Student Shot During Protest In FUNAAB Is Not Dead, He's Receiving Treatment by Okusi(m): 7:24am On Aug 19, 2016
ennyhola:
.#FUNAAB #Protest #Riot..
*FCM STANDARD REPORT*

It all started as a peaceful protest with the students needing the management to provide them with security agents to save life and properties for students staying off campus because a hostel (Adejoke hostel) was robbed overnight with a student axed down. The protest later turned into a riot after a police shot a student at the eye @ a very close range..this instigated the riot with students from Osiele and touts around joining the Riot...everybody present then tot the guy really died, this alone made the students go haywire and they all marched towards the VC church(divine height) with them destroying vehicles and burning some, the church really suffered because it was seriously damaged with the window glasses broken and the doors spoilt.

They later marched back to the camp centre (school roundabout).. and on passing through dambold somebody said "look at them looking at us and they can't give us fuel or help matters" that's when the students diverted to dambold filling station and damaged everything in sight ranging from breaking the pump glass to chasing the attendants out to them breaking the transparent freezer "con see how people dey take free soft drinks /pure waters"

Still on the matter when the students sighted the police vans coming "wow, wow, wow" ,the students really stood their ground @ first daring the police to come and with some already setting fire on anything burnable just to serve as a blockage..it was really a tense moment because nobody was allowed to take any pictures..
THE police van was coming slowly because of the blockages on the roads but you can see them fully aimed, when the police got to O2C and they found out that students are still standing their ground they fired the first teargas "POAH"!! they fired it @02C it landed at dambold.." PUAFff", chisos! Who go wait! Na today we sabi say corners dey camp, guys ran without looking back..but the policemen really didn't stop the firing because they were firing continuously into the parts students ran into(one landed at my side while running) this got people running far inner and everybody just entering into any open door(even if na babaalawo house)

When it seems the area has been cleared, students came out their hidings to the main road again and relaunched, destroying everything, and dismantling any wooden stall so as to use it as a blockage, the popular suya man stall wasn't left out because it was thrown out in a toss but his cupboard was left because it has some of his equipment like Generators and some suyas(funaabites no dull for cold suya o). They were still on the blockage when we heard gunshots "Pa!pa!pa!"..it was unexpected and it was actually a gunshot, they actually fired!and they were coming with full force.. O boy!! Who be usain bolt? I ran and at the same time looked at the sky for any incoming tear gas so as to avoid walking on one.Every house was filled to the brim with students finding a place to hide.

The policemen came down of their vehicles and moved a little bit closer to the houses and fired a teargas into the house I was, this got everybody in the building coming out and crying unintentionally with mucus flowing out of their nose with the eyes as red as colour *deep red*.(students suffer o)
This police intervention got students away from the main road and the police force were able to clear the blockages for vehicles to pass through.
"Corners and shortcuts wey dey camp no be small o" because the students remobilized at mancot park in a more fierce mood and challenged the police one on one but the officers won't allow any student moving closer because they kept firing the tear gas down @ the students.
(I think that's when the commissioner quote "150students must be captured" came in ) because the officers are now after student's chasing them seriously.. Hot race/temple run

It seems the police had enough "tear_gas_can" because they were just firing it anyhow,@ this moment camp junction has been totally cleared with vehicles plying the road but the road to Funaab was still not motorable because the students weren't giving anybody the chance to move at all with them burning everything at the middle of the road even banners weren't exempted,at this moment a lady was caught by the students for taking pictures "Are you mad! Wetin you dey snap?you be spy abi! Give us your phone!burn her phone!format the phone!" the Lady was just pleading that she meant no harm that she was just trying to pick up her mums call but the students said "FORMAT THE PHONE!FACTORY SETTINGS!" she was later left alone..not until another brother was sighted coming from the footpath leading from that osiele side to MANCOT park and was taking pictures with confidence, angry guys rushed at him and confronted him "PLEASE, EJOR! SOMEBODY CALLED ME FROM UI,I AM HERE TO REPORT NI" (thunder wey go fire you still dey do press up).

Unknown to us the police had been moving closer to us..what we saw next was shocking and it got everybody running marathon..the police drove in toward the students with full speed so they caught up with us..and immediately they dropped off from the van they picked race immediately giving we students a hot chase instantly.. I've you ever witnessed TEMPLE RUN? I witnessed it today because the policemen refuse to stop the chase just because they need a scape goat(animal pursuing hunter)

When the policemen found out that Funaabites sabi run no be small they gave up on the chase and went to the first house opposite mancot pack and picked some students

In the course of them calming down the atmosphere they fired tear gases incessantly to the few students at the end of the street which got the poor guys crying but they still stood their feet.

What actually stopped everything was the policemen driving their van down to the end of the street(inner inner) as far as ARISH school.. And they got down and started chasing students this really calmed the situation because everybody don scatter patapata.
_In the course of me finding a place to hide I ran into a pit latrine toilet unknowingly but I had to bear the odour because I was being chased by a policeman shouting "Bring ya phone"_

You need to learn from the rugged oouites.
Note- whenever u sense a protest, always buy one bottle of kerosene with a face towel in hand. No tear gas will make u cry.

Hey I'm A Yoruba!

And I've Been To Ibadan 6times!

What I Noticed Is That The Slum Is 80% While The Main City Is Just 10%.

Lets Stop The Hype, Ajimobi Is The Dumbest Governor I've Ever Known.

If You Really Wanna Know The Real Meaning Of "Change" Just Come To Abeokuta.

Abeokuta Is Not Really An Over hyped City Unlike Ibadan.

You Can Barely See Things Concerning Abeokuta On NL

But, Abeokuta Is Way More Better Than Ibadan, The City Has Changed Over The Years Since The Current Governor Assumption Of Office.

Abeokuta Is Just Nothing But A Huge Construction Site Right Now

The Last Time I Paid A Visit To Abeokuta, I Was Wowed All Through My Journey, I Didn't Even Know When I Poked My Head Outta The Car-Window, You Can Barely Drive Past A Place Without Seeing A Construction. It's Indeed An Haven Of Investment

In The Next 3years Abeokuta Is Gonna Be The Place Of Our Dream.

Even Ogun State That's Among The Poorest States Years Back In Nigeria, Is Now Among The Top 4 Richest State In Nigeria.

So Lets Stop The Hype On Ibadan, Ajimobi Is Doing Nothing But Playing Ludo
leave that thing abeg. I'm also from Ogun and thank God we are developing at a pace that is awesome but the governor centralised infrastructural development on Abeokuta alone. go to Sagamu, Ijebu Ode. the work isn't as rapid as that of Abk. We need all round development for our States not for the capital city alone. come to think of it, Sagamu is the industrial city of Ogun but government presence aren't visible. see Ewekoro too

Is it that people don't learn? So with all the potential issues surrounding this rerun, a corper will accept to do this job?
The smart ones I know do everything possible just not to be part of any elections; talk less of That of Rivers (Wike vs Amechi).
My advice to you is never to involve in such again. Most people that lost their lives were normal people like you. Don't think that being a corper will save you.
my bro, I'm also serving in Rivers. we were not forced to participate. I was in my lodge alone that day enjoying my life. None of the corps member that participated did it for the love of d nation. They all did it for the sake of money neglecting what they've been seeing in d media. In my PPA, all APC members but few (strong ones) flee from d community a day before election all because the Islanders there had boasted to kill them if they show up. This isn't politics!!!!

Nairaland GeneralBringing Out The Best In A Child As A Parent by Okusi(op): 6:30pm On Jan 31, 2016
A story is told about a young Thomas Edison who came home one day with a paper for his mother. He told her, “My teacher told me to give this paper only to my mother.” Thomas’ mother read the note and her eyes filled with tears. Thomas asked his mother what the note said, and she read aloud, “Your son is a genius. This school is too small for him and doesn’t have enough good teachers for training him. Please teach him yourself.” And that’s exactly what Thomas’ mother did; she homeschooled her child with devotion and dedication. As the story goes, many years later after Thomas Edison’s mother passed on, and he was now one of the world’s greatest inventors, he found a folded paper among other family items. He opened the very same paper that had been handed to him to give to his mother and read the following message: “Your son is mentally ill. We won’t let him come to school anymore.” At that moment, Edison realized what his mother had done for him so many years ago. He wrote in his diary: “Thomas Alva Edison was an addled child that, by a hero mother, became the genius of the century.” Can you imagine what might have happened to Thomas Edison if his mother had read to him the reckless and hurtful words written by his foolish teacher? He might never have invented the light bulb or made his many other contributions to society. Thank God for the wise words of his mother! She created the context in which her son could grow to his full potential. Let’s take this message to heart and resolve to use our words for healing today. Just as hurtful words can cause uncontainable damage for life, so can wise words positively affect a person for life. May the words we use today change a life for the better.

IslamRe: Nairaland Islam Section Debate (NISD) by Okusi(m): 7:33am On Dec 30, 2014
salam alaykum warahmotullah wabarakatuh ya ikwan. Alhamdulillah we still have youths in Islam that are intellectually blessed. To my knowledge of the Deen I will like to make some contributions to all been said over here.
1. Let's all know that there's no moderation of Islam since inception except from fatwas(rulings) to expantiate on them. Any other are bid'ah!
2. let's put an end to modern day Islam and do exactly what we are asked to do. don't overdo and don't do less.
3. A brother wearing a designer doesn't mean he's extravagant so far that he's doing what is ordained to do and wearing it the right way. he might try to imitate some rich Sahaba e.g Abd Rahman ibn Awf.
4. As per no. 3 its contrary to sister wears, imagine a sis putting on makeup(how on earth will that last when u r going to av a 5 daily solat?), and its been said that they shldnt entice men with their beauty but we see lot of them on social networks doing it the wrong way.
5. Allah told us He won't accept half islam but we r not ready to perform full Islam. and yet we write it on our profiles that "we r striving for jannah".. Firdaus no be beans o.
6. To our sisters, you r of 2 types;
I. this brother is too sunnatic, I can't cope cos I won't be able socialize and do what pleases me. But he's loving and caring.
II. this brother is rich but not calm. He is a free giver but don't stay much at home.
6. Our brothers too r of this types.
I. She's a niqabite and my family won't accept her cos they believe they either have bad past or worse attitude. But she's vast in Islamic knowledge and western education, of good attitude and pious.
II. She only put on scarf and only knows the basis of Islam but also gud n pious.
III. She's all I want but older than me.
IV. she's an HND holder and not BSc holder.
7. For both and the worst of all
I. He/She is not of my tribe!
II. His/Her parents are not wealthy
iII. He/She has a bad past.
8. If we all want a perfect gal or guy, we will have to get clay and mould them to ur taste.
Remember, marriage is half of our deen and we need to complete it.
-Build ur partner to ur taste and let each other know what u r lacking and work things out.
- Teach one anoda the deen and let them do it for Allah's sake alone!
- don't marry someone that cannot correct u when u r wrong.
- Marry someone that'll make ur offspring better than u are.
- Marry early so that you'll be free from ziina and dnt make haram tge foundation of ur relationship
- whether u r the male or female, make sure u respect each other and wheb deres commotion, one shld be submissive.

May Allah forgive us all and make this ujah for us n not against us on the day of Akir. Subhannaka Allahumo wa bihamdik, ash ahdu an la ilaha ila anta astagfirllah wa atubu ileyk. Salam alaykum.
