Whaat! Unbelievable saw dis same "police boy" trying to harrass another traffic official at a junction off ekenwa road when the traffic officer asked their lane to stop so he could pass other lanes he alighted tried to rough handle d traffic officer, who was rescued by 4 young boys in a toyota camry who threatened to disarm and beat him up if he dare touch the traffic officer.
To see dis on nairaland that he still put up same behavior somewhere else is shocking, i believe an animal like dis should be rooted out of the police, before he does some serious damage to public safety

Op, am based in Lagos Nigeria and @ d same time av an experience on wot it takes to survive on menial jobs in America, :
Firstly u r right, it is difficult to survive on jobs like these which pays between $1,400 and $,1800 after calculating ur hrs monthly, u hardly hit $2,000 on ur hrs in states like Texas.

Ur apartment rent goes for about $700/800 monthly, take that from 1,800 u r left wit $1,000 ur phone and internet takes $200 u r left wit $800,
Water, electricity and waste takes abiut $300 u r left wit $500, feeding grabs another $300 u r left wit $200 take transportation and other sundry exoenses u would be left with about $30. What can u do wit that NOT MUCH!

But another thing u av to consider is that that comparing the man who is struggling in US wit a menial job and living in an apartment and unable to make savings is like comparing someone struggling in Lagos in a two rooms apartment wit no savings to someone else living in deep forest of KOMA in Nigeria, in a mud house of several rooms with a thatched roof and no doors nor windows to keep off d moquitoes, no good road, no television nor radio, YES that is how u compare the standard of living between Nigeria and US, like comparing Koma village to Abuja. Some of the worst areas in US like Bissonnet to me are finer, neater and looking far better than some places in lekki and surulere, which many of us boast of, yes u a manager in Nigeria and building houses what are the quality of houses you are living in iterms amenities, such as electricity, phone and internet services, here in Nigeria we have no electricity, no water the neighbourhoods are littered wit refuse and the streets are littered wit dead decomposing rats thrown on d streets and smelling wit flies all over d place, So the choice would be ur's to make, but i bet u bring someone born Koma to Lagos, survival would be hell,

What is the rationale behind Op's assertion? Even though the NPF has painted an almost irredeemable bad image of themselves, we must not take advantage of that to further degrade their corrupt status at every given instance.

From the pic, I would say the police woman was simply tired of standing and had to sit down on the load to reflect on the current hardship Nigerians are going through.

The guy pushing the truck does not look troubled at all and was only wondering why the police woman had to sit on the load he is about pushing to think.

Police is your friend. Never forget that!

U r a very silly person, tell ur colleagues if u robbers in the police force don't repent from ur ways, ur whole families and generations will pay for all ur evil u'v bin committing, u dont need to beg for friendship from d oublic, we know friends when we see them. Car Talk / Unbelievable Prices Of Naija Used Old VW Beetle, Peugeot 404,505,504(pictures) by okuya: 10:00am On Oct 26, 2017
That old Peugeot belonging to ur father parked somewhere in the garage or tucked somewhere in ur hometown could be worth millions today.
I recently was with a friend who has been trying to get a Peugeot 404 into his collection of classic cars. We made contact with a seller in Jos who wanted to dispose of his fathers old Peugeot 404 at a ridiculously low price, but we were beaten to it by another buyer based in Jos as we were based in Lagos, who refused to sell to us.we were only able to find one seller offering his for =N=11,000,000 eleven million naira
Our continuous search within and outside Nigeria we came across these prices for different brands of neatly used old cars popular in Nigeria

Volkswagen beetle : =N=1,500,000 - 2,000,000

Peugeot 404: =N=11,000,000 (in Nigeria) & £16,000 (in Europe

Peugeot 404 wagon: £14, 000-26,000

Peugeot 504(1970's & early 1980's model) : £7000

Peugeot 505 (1983 model) :=N=400,000 (in Nigeria) & £3,000

I AM SO ASHAMED OF MOST YORUBAS ON THIS FORUM, WHEN THE NEWS BROKE THAT AN IGBO MAN WAS KILLED NOT QUITE LONG WHEN HE WAS ARRESTED FOR NOT POSSESSING HIS PASSPORT AND DUMPED BY THE ROAD, THE YORUBAS ON THIS FORUM WERE JUBILATING AND CLAIMING HE MUST HAVE BEEN FOUND WITH DRUGS,,AND SPEWING RUBBISH.
BUT WITHIN THIS WEEK ALONE TWO YORUBAS HAVE BEEN KILLED IN SOUTH AFRICA INCLUDING THIS OF IBRAHIM BADMUS, AN INDIGENE OF OGUN STATE, WHOM THE POLICE ALEGEDLY CLAIM WAS A CRIMINAL. IT IS EVIDENT FROM THE VIDEO THAT THE IGBOS WERE THE ONES WEEPING AND FIGHTING THE POLICE OVER HIS KILLING, UNLIKE THE YORUBAS WHO WOULD HAVE TAKEN TO THE STREETS JUBILATING LIKE THEY DID WHEN IGBOS WERE MASSACRED IN THE EAST AND WHEN AN IGBO GUY WAS RECENTLY KILLED ,
I SALUTE THE IGBO GUYS IN THE VIDEO FOR PUTTING THEIR LIFE ON THE LINE FOR A BROTHER THEY LOVE, BUT Hmmm.... THEY SHOULD LOOK BACK HOME, USE THEIR TONGUES TO COUNT THEIR TEETH AND KNOW IF THE ANGER THEY ARE SHOWING IS WORTH IT .. JUST TODAY THE S/AFRICAN CHIEF OF POLICE CALLED THEM THUGS FOR ATTACKING THE POLICE IN THE VIDEO.,A STATEMENT WHICH THE YORUBAS WOULD HAVE ENDORSED WHOLEHEARTEDLY HAD IT NOT BEEN A YORUBA THAT WAS THE VICTIM,. Hmmm... YORUBAS NEED TO THINK TWICE AND CHANGE FROM THEIR EVIL, JEALOUS & WICKED WAYS!!

Politics / Hausa Animist Ceremony (original Religion Of The Hausa) by okuya: 8:54am On Oct 09, 2017
Drugged Hausa animists in trance foaming at the mouth at the end of the traditional ceremony..Under the influence of drugs several Hausa animists go into trance, speaking in tongues, guided by their spiritual leader. After several hours they jump onto pumpkins exploding them, the pieces are made into stew which are considered sacred. After their meeting with the gods they are considered embodied with their spirits and locals who paid for the ceremony will ask them questions about how to lead their life. Animist animist ceremonies and traditions pre-date the arrival of Islam in Africa. The earliest Africans were animist, praying to the spirits of rocks and beasts. Animism and Islam have happily co-existed together until Sharia Islamic law was instated which outlaws animist ceremonies music and dancing. The implementation of Islamic Sharia Law across the twelve northern states of Nigeria, centres upon Kano, the largest Muslim Hausa city, under the feudal, political and economic rule of the Emir of Kano. I bliv Seun OSEWA and his moderators should apply common sense in moderating things posted on this site.
From the burial poster it is clearly stated that:
1. The girls body will lie in state at her family compound @ ABULE ADO (Which is satellite town area of Lagos state.
2. Her burial is at kirikiri (which is in Lagos state)
3. Her family stated that she was murdered in her sleep, the useless OP added 'rape', when he does not even know the state where the girl was MURDERED nor the grieving family.

Pls, Oga Seun Osewa moderate this post to save the grieving family who has lost their little loved daughter from embarrassment and further grieve as a result of this scrap information given out by this DUMB OP.

That's good but when it comes to romance or espionage, I think foreign authors do well in such areas, so blend your tastes in literary works

Well for romance stories, the female gender tends to appreciate them more, give a romantic tale of two frogs in love in a pond somewhere Uzbekistan, or love story of two koalas in Australia, the human mind especially that of the females has a way of recreating the characters of that bullfrog and the frog in Uzbekistan to the story of bayo and Nkechi in Lekki. In romance it has no bound like other stories
And for espionage novels, movies such as James Bond with which we grew up has already formed the basis on which we can appreciate such stories. Nevertheless we would appreciate our African stories more if put side by side with foreign stories, as long as they are being narrated by equally intelligent story teller

Heard about her so much but Funny enough I'm yet to read any of her work. .this Efuru caught my interest..but I hope it will not be like Adichies 'Purple Hibiscus -that left me disappointed after reading despite the hype about the book
Really, purple hibiscus is a great work, it is a great literal work with a very subtle story which absorbs you into its characters.the teller took her time to gently draw us into the environment or should I call it setting, by giving us some of the best geographical description, a story can offer.
Well one thing with works of literature is that your appreciation of them is dependent upon the environment you can easily relate with, for me I spent my early childhood in a small town, in the east part of Nigeria, and also constantly visiting relatives in the interior villages surrounding the town, where most nights we go to bed with folktales which has been handed down by being told for generations down the line. Also, latter part of my childhood, teenage and early adult life I spent in Lagos, i most times growing visited other parts of the country, these were my formative years. Therefore I appreciate and enjoy African stories or tales no matter the setting. I sometimes, also enjoy some foreign literal works, having traveled to some African, middle eastern, and western world such as America, but I do not appreciate their literal works so much, because deep within my subconscious, I cannot relate very much with their environment.

This is not a miracle. It is a phenomenon well documented in the medical literature. It has happened before and will happen again.

The patient was mistakenly diagnosed as deceased after what was probably a cardiac arrest. He in all likelihood had spontaneous resumption of cardiac and circulatory activity. The technical term is ROSC
"A patient is not dead until he is warm and dead" is what you are taught in emergency medicine courses because cold preserves the vital organs and can allow recovery later.

And how about d disappearance of the hole in his heart without undergoing surgery, COULD YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN THE SCIENCE BEHIND THAT TOO?

Ex President of Cot'devoir Lauren Gbsgbo is captured in this video being attacked by his country men on the streets of France.
I personally believe dat the attack is savage and barbaric, and the perpetrators should be arrested.
The men carrying out the attack is venting their anger for the misrule and looting of their nation by Gbsgbo.
But I believe they could have also shamed him by publicly booing him, name calling rather than physically beaten him up.
This should also serve as a lesson to our politicians, the world is fast changing, you could be amongst the most powerful today, and tomorrow be at the mercy of the masses u are misuruling and I bet you a whole lot of them could have lost their sense of civility/decency as a result of your misrule
