Met this damsel, we exchanged contacts same day and after about a week of frequent calls and whatsapp chats, I decided to ask her out on a date which she accepted. At the eatery, I told her about my desire of making her my bae. She blushed, good sign right? After all from our chats and calls it was evident we have a connection but to my surprise, I got a shocker. "George, I can't date you. I'm in a relationship with someone else and I don't double date but I'll like us to be friends" she said. I kept my cool, didn't press further as I wouldn't want to be in such relationship again.



Fast forward to yesterday, 7:50pm. 2 years, 6 months and 1 day passed since we first met. She broke up with her guy 5 months ago due to unfaithfulness and I've dated 3 ladies since then. See? We've grown, our relationship was no exception, I was now a bona fide member of the NFA (Nairaland FriendZoned Association). Even worst was the fact that I was in the "I don't want to ruin our friendship zone" despite that I always remind her of how badly I wanted her.


In my usual manner of letting her know my intentions, I got the ever "I don't want to ruin our friendship" but this time, I wasn't ready to settle for less. I told her that this will be the last of me asking and after this she should forget about me but I still got same reply...I fired again, if u still don't want us to be together because of the friendship you so much cherish, then count me out of it. She paused and begged me not to say stuffs like that. I noticed she was getting emotional, so i tried to reason with her...

ME...okay, let's have a test run relationship for 2weeks. In fact, 1 week and see how things go and if after 7 days u still don't want me as ur BF then we end it.
