@reid sign in or log onto www youanimator com. u can upload ur animations and have them professionally shredded by people you should listen to. lol u will get far more meaningful feedback to up ur game, better than i can provide. will try n keep up more of an appearance here tho. cheers n goodluck |
all artists have egos...we r hardwired dat way. lol dont forget tho, we ALL (NO EXCEPTIONS) have a margin for improvement! @reid dont ask for comments or critique from the public if u cant take the negative with the positive. spywares original comment about 'making noise' wasnt necessarily a diss at u...u chose to take it that way. u could have read it several other ways or ignored it completely. scroll up and see how the talks degenerated. secondly the animation in question wasnt even posted by the creator, so dissing it or trying to belittle it also shows unprofessionalism on ur part. d clip u posted will impress some ppl, but be a joke to others depending on their individual skill levels, dont make the error of thinking its 'all dat' generally...dats a fast track to mediocrity. i could point out a couple of principles u didnt apply too, as well as hail ur efforts in other areas. we are all on different rungs on the learning ladder. i would advise that u dont bother with attacking anyone for blabbing or hacking others, its usually a sign of deeper insecurities. i think i know the 2 ppl u refer to, stooping to their level achieves nothing. the supremely confident and focused dont waste time on petty trivialities....personally i ignore them. @spyware the talks went the way they did not necessarily cos of wot u posted or said, but cos u have a history of not picking ur words carefully. most of wot i posted above applies to u and ur work as well. a dose of humility and an open mind will help u tighten ur game. dont let the adulation of the 'uninformed public' warp ur perception of reality or ur skill level...it should mean more coming from a seasoned fellow practitioner. u guys can keep entertaining us with colourful insults or u can both man up and take relevant lessons learnt. |

@AdamuW haha...loving the scenario u painted. its a personal learning project and very versatile. i will xperiment with variations on d biggies reaction. also if its ok wit u, id incorporate ur idea into a second scenario wit the chap. in ma original storyline, he encounters several different mishaps in his bid to grab a smoke til he finally throws d cigarette away. so ur 'setting on fire' scenario fits in just fine (dat is, pending ur permission to use it) |

@op. Steer clear of dat car unless u have tons of cash n a substitute. They run ok (apart from high fuel consumption)but at d first sign of trouble, offload it on anoda sucker.there is hardly any support for it,parts r xpensive n not easily accessible unless ur in lagos or onitsha. There is only 1 spareparts dealer in all of aba, none in portharcourt. I know, I bought one for my wife 3 years ago n its parked more than its driven. D first issue is usually d gear box, but if u must, go for d 6cylinder straight engine. Its older but less problematic dan d v8 |

I bet dat would b more effective (altho u did dig up some interesting threads from d past) People need to know WHY they should visit u chaps, n WOT they stand to learn. lol. No shortcuts there. I do it d old fashioned way in Maya. FaceGen creates morph targets/blend shapes for d major speech phenomes (thereby simplifying d process) but other than dat, i create d blendshapes in Maya and animate there. Atleast for human xters. Motionbuilder has a setup where u can characterise n map different morph targets to specific speech phenomes dat d software recognises. After dat u can load ur audio file and it drives d animation. Motionbuilder will assess d audio n apply d relevant target. I dnt use it often tho, cos it takes me too long to set up n almost always needs a lotta tweaking. Hope dat answers u.....long post |

@mac well i used d help files, but there r tons of stuff online. google "motionbuilder tutorials", there r also a couple on digital tutors site, even on youtube. goodluck |
@mac Well, FaceGen Modeller lets u quickly create faces with various morph targets for d major speech phenomes. U can load orthographic views of your reference pic and let it create d textured model (based on ur ref pics). U can then tweak d final output as desired. It helps me cut time when theres deadline pressure. U may google it if u like. Motionbuilder is a powerful tool dat lets u animate xters and playback d animation in real time. I like it cos it helps me animate intuitively witout needing to constantly playblast (as i would in Maya) when im done i plot d animation to my skeleton and take it back to my 3d app n apply to my model n render. u gatta xplore it. |
@mac ok. I have a diff workflow. Modeling in Maya Character animation in Motionbuilder (for bipeds) Facial animation in Maya (lately i have been using Face Gen to generate morphable faces, when d specific looks of d xter isnt important. It saves me days work) Rendering in Maya Post in Combustion and sew it up in Premiere. D main challenge we face is finding good sound engineers. I guess dats y nollywood sounds like it does...lol will dig up n post a few more files |
@macslegal thanx...both clips neva got to d post processin stage, dats y there r no fx. D sound too was minimal just to establish timing. Nice clip, wots ur preferred software(s) cmon folks....more clips pls. |

lol...i doubt any 3d artist wit VAST xperience will wanna hookup based on d info (or lack of it) uv shared. Wots i-revolution? Whos ur team? Wots d scope of work? Benefits? Location? Good artists r always busy n unless ur a known/big name, will rarely make d effort to dig for d details. Simplify d process n post as much info as possible. Or beta still, ask for their details n contact them, rather than d reverse. VAST xperience comes wit VAST egos...lol |
