Research on the Development of Ground Improvement Method using Recycled Soil Material - Investigation in Nigeria.

Hello Nairalanders

I want to believe this meets you well.

I am on my Masters programme in Japan and currently working on a Research to investigate the potentials and barriers to the use of improved recycled soil for ground improvement in Nigeria.

I believe we are all aware that with the development of building technology in recent years, the effect on environmental degradation has been a major concern. This study was conceived in a bid to further promote environmental sustainability through reasonable resources consumption pattern in line with The United Nation sustainable development goals. The purpose of the study is to examine the feasibilities and efficiency of developing a ground improvement method using recycled construction sludge.

I want to crave the indulgence of engineers, architects, project managers and other experts who have worked particularly in housing sector, highway or construction projects to please fill out this short survey form below.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSenGslzZykRxK_Ub6GuqWSEQE_OTRA75bhTQ-Ai2LroM3s2cA/formResponse

This survey is designed to obtain background information about our attitude towards construction waste management and the potentials of the use of improved recycled soil material as ground improvement method in Nigeria's construction industry. It will also be used as part of my Thesis work towards obtaining my Masters Degree here in Japan.

If you have any comment or suggestion to further improve the outcomes of this research, please feel free to share your thoughts by writing it in the comment section at the end of the questionnaire.

Thank you for your support !!!!!

Education / Re: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by Olabamijie(m): 10:52am On Jul 09, 2017
Sincerely, I believe the test was just for formalities. I wrote at the Abuja center and the lady (Am certain she is HAUSA) that sat by my right was not settled at all, she kept looking over her shoulders everytime and watching out if the attendants were approaching. I had to ask her if she came in with a Calculator but she said no and gave a sardonic smile. I later discovered she was solving the English questions and within 20mins she was almost done (Mehn, I was baffled but I had to face my work since I dont know for sure what was going on). Not too long after, she was speaking Hausa to one Crossed eyed dude sitting few seats from her and they both laughed. I knew something was going on mehn but I dont know how to place it. It was after the exam my Friend (Female, Hausa, Malo) gisted me her own ordeal that the dude sitting next to her (Hausa) finished his English in 15mins and was beckoning her to copy his since he realised she has their identity. Lets look at it, this is the first time we had the most Papazzazi: Camera men everywhere taking as much pictures as they can, at a point I had to cover my face, recording videos and running interviews like we were at the proper award presentation self (Trying to imagine the kinda stunt they will pull at the award presentation). They are trying to depict transparency where as they had done the permutation underground. Look at the English section, they decided to hype the number to 100 and made it ridiculously tougher since they know their candidates had the English section already, who is fooling who. So while we hustle with trying to score the Maximum 50 from our area of specialisation and then add as more scores as we can manage to get from English, this fuckstards (Sorry for that word but this is really annoying) will earn the maximum 100 from English and the add up some marks from their area of specialisation (do the maths).

To be sincere, I am disappointed in this Country and in the message of Change this Government preaches. I hope this gets to the necessary authority because we cannot continue like this as a Country. Nepotism will take us no where but further damage us. Please if you had the same experience as mine, kindly share. I wish I realised early that those Hausa dudes (especially the lady that sat beside me) had the leak (but who could have imagined that), woulda confronted her and used her as a scapegoat. useless fools.

I am no attacking any tribe, I only shared what I experienced at the Abuja center which is really disheartening.

In all, I thank my exam went well grin grin

Sorry mate. Don't have for control. Can only guarantee for all last year 60 questions for environmental related
Courses with other questions that have good chance to be out. Also With other past years general questions.
You may not be too bothered about English questions if they are to be set this time out. They are giveaways for a graduate who didn't get his/her degree through the back door. Don't 100% expect English language section this time so u avoid a shocker. May your star guide u. It's worth it

I applied for Environmental Engineering. Please help me with the Environmental related questions by forwarding them to jos402006@gmail.com
Thanks.

Good day Mr. Olabamijie.

I was just surfing the net for construction bungalows when I stumbled on this trend. My parents are building a bungalow which I would like to supervise to completion as I'm a civil engineering student (currently on IT) looking to practise the little I've learnt and further gain more experience.

Reading your posts and your pledge of providing solutions/answers to enquiries has just given me a strong pat in the back, a genuine confidence that I can actually pull off the job. I'll be sure to keep in contact.

It is quite different to know something and be able to teach/impact others with the knowledge. Fortunately, I believe you're blessed in both.

Keep up the good work sir.

No problem, you are most welcome anytime..

Olabamijie

All thanks to the zealous Ajibshelter team, we were able to meet up with the deadline and our client has happily moved into his new place. We did not only offer him project managerial services, we supported him with enormously professional consultancy and encouragement; more so, we gave him value for his money. We’ll finish up with the other sections and project stages once his budget is buoyant enough as I must have stated earlier.

Are you planning to start a building project or have one currently ongoing?, feel free to send in questions and/or doubts you so deem to seek clarification on; be it design, planning, construction or project costing/ bill estimation, and other building construction related enquiries, we will make ourselves available to immediately help out. We guarantee cognitive and instant feedback.

Regards,
Olabamijie

Hello everyone following this thread, thanks for your time and input. There is a little twist to this project: my client has been evicted by his landlord and he had vowed not to further pay rent or homage to any other landlord but rather he wants to start living the “lord” life as soon as possible despite the fact that he is technically broke at the moment. He consulted us at AJIB SHELTER for professional advice and we offered him the following which he gladly accepted. As we all may recall, that he is to reside in the One bedroom apartment (refer back to the Intro), while he let out the Two Bedroom section. As such,
We resolved to:
1. Focus works henceforth on the one bedroom section to make it relatively conducive for him to pack in.
2. Use relatively cheap and durable materials for some of the building components while placing then on a short term use of about 3-4months in particular, the Ceiling. We’ll use the PVC material for the main time. We’ll revert back to POP when he must have saved enough to install that for the whole building.
3. Provide/Introduce Burglary at both entrances to cater for self-protection pending the time we’ll construct the Frontal perimeter fence and gate (Bearing in mind that this is also dependent on the bore hole drilling process and time)
4. Provide adequate electrical fittings
5. Place the screeding/ painting process as part of the long term as this will be done at once for the whole building once his cash flow is buoyant enough.

I’ll post pictures as this unfolds. Stay tuned.

Warm regards,
Olabamijie
