Dear Applicant,

Thank you for applying to Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT).

In accordance with the Universities Act, section 36, Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) has on May 5, 2015 decided on the student admissions for the Spring 2015 for the Master’s Programme in Computer Science.

Unfortunately, you have not been accepted to the Master’s Programme in Computer Science.

Referring to the information already given to you on your FuniMa account by University Admissions Finland (UAF):

Your application has not been a complete one due to for example, not meeting with the LUT requirement for proficiency in English or, not having your educational documents officially certified as requested – and therefore, your application has not been taken into account in the LUT admissions process.

Please note that there is no justification for lodging an official appeal when your application has been an incomplete one.

If still wishing to lodge an official appeal on the admission decision made by the Admissions Committee, you need to file it in writing within 21 days from the date of this letter. The complaint must include strong and concrete evidence on the alleged error made during the process for the admissions decisions. For further information, please see http://www.lut.fi/web/en/admissions/masters-studies/student-selection.

God go punish those UAF peeps, I go the same message from LUT. I thank God that I have been accepted at TUT. I sent UAF a nasty mail this morning.
Take heart bro and please apply to TUT, Aalto and other universities that do use UAF in admission processes.

Abeg guys....I just got a mail from tampere with my conditional letter of acceptance. in the letter I was asked to use it for my visa application that there was no need to wait for the unconditional letter as the Finnish embassy has been notified of the conditional offer.....any one with such a mail or similar circumstance

You can use the conditional letter of acceptance for your RP application but you will need to attach a copy of the email sent to you by the school.

Peeps... I have confirmed from the Finnish Embassy in Abuja that we can submit the scanned offer and a copy of the e-mail used in sending it.

Bros I go fight u ooo.... All the information you need with respect to applying is on this thread read from the first page... I go help u list the steps below;

1. Visit www.studyinfinland.fi for a list of schools and courses offered

2. Select schools and courses that you will like to apply to and visit their website.

3. Get an international passport

4. Sit for a test of English language (TOEFL, PTE Academic, IELTS)

5. If you meet the requirement of the schools and score at least the minimum accepted score for the English language test then u can submit ur application.........

Thanks for the attachment oo... I didn't know that all does documents listed in the attachment are to be sent in advance to the Finnish embassy.

Does it mean that we have to obtain the "original offer/admission letter" from the schools (sent via regular mail) before we can proceed to sending documents to the Finnish embassy?

abeg bro, u knw if finnish embassy dy call bank to check account status after application. or we just submit account statement. cos na hustle I wan hustle the remaining bar o, and na to return am sharperly cos of interest rate.

No do like that o.... they will request for your bank account statement again during the application.

Me sef money never complete o... na to find somewhere borrow then leave am for the account for the duration of the application period.

I got a list before, will try to search for it. just your certs (waec,birth cert,uni cert,transcript e.t.c) /soa/admission letter/health insurance. Some peeps got with those docs last year.

am using nipost registered mail to send my acceptance back o. and if by 2nd week of June, the thing no land, I will use dhl straight. forr the admission doc, you mean the admission letter? I think it will take 2-3weeks.

Bros.... you get mind o.... Y u nor just use DHL or other courier services send am at once make mind for rest.

I know say person need cut cost but anything wey go cause uncertainty, I like to take care of it with the best possible option.

Ehen.... Are u really picking UEF ahead of U of Helsinki OR u prefer the course u chose to study at UEF....? I won't turn down the opportunity to study at either of U of H or Aalto. The course I want to study/will be studying was only available at Aalto, TUT, LUT and Vaasa..
I applied to Aalto, TUT and LUT (sent all through DHL... my pocket red ehn)... Aalto nor gimme admission so I picked the next best option which is TUT (and dem give me admission)....

To cut all this my story short ehn..... I won't advise anybody to pass up admission to study at U of H or Aalto... they are the only top 100 rated university in Finland. I know that Helsinki and Espoo are more expensive than other places in Finland but they also provide more per time job opportunities.....

Yes, I got the mail from TUT 2 days ago. I should be getting my health insurance from Aiico (N30,800) by next month, since it's cheaper than Mutual (N31,500) . I have started my application online and only waiting to obtain my SOA. I shall be submitting the application by mid/late May.

Ooh cool..... so I can start the application online now and submit the application on a later date?

My Bank account need more cash before o can submit the application.... I intend to submit the application and visit the Finnish embassy by 3rd week of May.

That is the first bold step sir..... Before that you need to visit www.studyinfinland.fi to search courses offered by Finnish universities in English.

You might have to read this thread from the first page to the current page... it contains a lot of information.

Wow.... double congrats..... you don't need to include a bank statement if the scholarship fully covers the 6,720 euros. You need to include a certificate of scholarship.

The certificate must indicate the following;

1. The name of the recipient

2. The amount

3. The duration of the scholarship


The scholarship na naija scholarship or from the abroad

After waiting eargly and rejected by 5 university I was eventually accepted by UEF to study what I want Research chemist.

If u ve 2nd class lower,like my own,pls apply. But wen applying,make sure u chose ur line gangan. I mean d course u studied in ur BSC, must be d same with the one u re applying to.

Get the following

1. Acceptance letter to the university

2. Health Insurance (AIICO or Mutual benefit)

3. Evidence of sufficient funds (Bank statements and other document to prove source of funds)

4. A passport and passport photo


Then apply online or the hard copy route

Visit the Finnish embassy.


@abebasket97 .... My man..... no near Oulu o.... from discussion with peeps jobs are scarce in Oulu but if u get enough cash Oulu might be cheaper in terms of rent and other expenses. If I were you I will consider Tampere and Turku.... Tampere is an industrialized city (from my research oo as na TUT I dey go) and the 3rd largest metropolis in Finland (after Helsinki and Espoo). The course you will be studying, the ranking of the school, department etc. should also play a part.....(from my research all the schools u mentioned are top schs in Finland)

Anyone with info about Aalto University of Business, Mekkeli Campus, Finland. I did applied and i am yet to receive any mail or postal mail from them. Please any information will be appreciated.

If u applied for Aalto's MSc programs check their website, they have released their admission letter. You can also check d application portal.
Although an email was sent to all applicants informing them that admission results have been released.

Man, have you finally settled for TUT? My status on funima for LUT application is showing: 'Sent to University'.

Not really though, but on the balance of things Tampere is a bigger city (=more opportunities and PT jobs) compared to Lappeenranta.

Still thinking bout it though...........LUT seems to be more outgoing with an 'out in your face swag'........

From my research TUT has a better global appeal compared to LUT... but TUT seems to be more innovative with a lot of Innovation based subjects in their syllabus.

My status at UAF is also showing 'Sent to University'

Congratulations to you Olabode89, Goskian and everyone that has been accepted to their various programs,

I have just been accepted at University of Tukur, though not into my my most preferred programs at the university, which were

1. Information security and cryptography
2. Material Science

The stupid NIPOST kind of wasted 2 of my most preferred programs at the university because they failed to deliver MY applications before deadline which was
January 15.

Though, I have been accepted to study Astronomy and Space Physics, which is my third most preferred program. Just 6 of us were admitted.

I say congratulations to everybody still waiting for their decisions ahead of time, I still have University of Oulu, Tempere and University of Helsinki on my watch.
