what is ironic to me is how igbos are always pissed if yorubas accidentally assume all south easterners are igbo. igbos are always the first to correct us by saying that calabar people, niger delta people etc are not part of igboland. but then on the other hand, they are also always the first to say Jos is igboland, the oil in nigeria (which is obviously mostly in the niger delta) belongs to igbos etc. 
can you make up your mind.


but I agree that Nigeria needs to be united. we are currently operating in a global world where stuff like GDP, large economy and population counts for more than whether or not the country is homogeneous. this is the reason we are called the "giant of africa" we might as well unite and work together.

Something I've always been curious about though, and i'm guessing this is the right topic to ask, is what the igbo people's relationship with the western cameroonians esp. with the whole bakassi thing. I'm sure there are many "igbos" in cameroon. what is the relationship there?
i put igbo in quotation for a reason.

First of all, I do not care if Pa Enahoro is yoruba or not. He is of Esan origin and as far as I know, he is was part of the former Bendel state and a fellow southerner. Therefore, I would react if anyone disrespects him and as you can see every southerner (apart from igbos) would react if he is disrespected.
Secondly, there is no need to insult if you are cultured. I guess only you proved Awo right. Btw, the situation of the northerners and yorubas, you and I do not understand, OK? Some yorubas have fulani blood in them and they still call themselves yorubas. The relationship is complex.
Finally, you are right, every group has its imperfections and we should not use that as a weapon.
PS: Its like you want to start the great tribal war of NL by claiming you are of yoruba origin. Remember, akin-egba? I would advise you to be proud of your igbo origin. MO

The reaction you saw from the yorubas was an accummmulated reaction. That claim did not just start today, you know. It's been propagated ssince before I joined NL and I know this is not the last of it. Okay, how do you explain the igbos insulting *Enohoro*? How do you explain the pro-biafrans (with all due respect) propagating lies about how Awo betrayed them and commited suicide (the first point was dismissed by a SS man and the second was on a probiafran website)? It goes on and on and on. When someone calls all his Southern neighbour cowards and betrayals, do you not expect them to react?
Agreed,the SS andyorubas has their faults and people would address them (atleast, I would. I take no hostage and I say it as I see it). MO.

All these are non Northerners business. So take note, we don't need to do such to survive.
