Politics / Vice President Debate Fall Out by OlanUp(m): 12:10am On Dec 15, 2018
After watching the Vice-President debate:
If Nigeria is a football team.
I as a coach, I will put our striker (Buhari) to on transfer market to Sudan and buy Peter Obi as the main striker with Professor Osinbajo as the assistant main striker. Loan Atiku out to Niger. Frankly speaking Buhari and Atiku should not be near Aso rock!

Who would have thought that the American govt could so perfectly hide the identity of Michelle Obama being a transgender male

Or Barack Obama himself, who's true name is actually Barry Sotero...

Travel / POLICE CHARACTER CERTIFICATE Experience @ Nigeria Embassy In Ottawa (canada) by OlanUp(m): 3:10pm On May 11, 2017
About the Nigerian Embassy in Canada (Ottawa)

Please kindly help us tell the Nigeria Police that Nigerian Embassy in Canada is rejecting the Police Character Certificate issued under the office of the IG to Nigerians living outside Nigeria and asking us to go to Ministry of External Affairs in Nigeria to get approval or certification for it. A document that the Ministry of External affairs knows nothing about!
A particular woman is said to be in charge of the certification here in the embassy but she has been sending people away not minding where ever they come from. She claimed that the IG of police in Nigeria did not inform her before or after changing the officer in charge of the 'D' Dept of CID Lagos.
I was at the embassy too today and it returned to me that I should take it to External Affairs Ministry in Nigeria. External Affairs Ministry that knows nothing about the investigation or the Certificate issued by a different Ministry. See the level of incompetence and studipidity!
I insisted on seeing the woman she of course refused to come out, while another senior officer went to her to speak with her she still refused!
If this can be equated to blowing whistle please help me and others blow it!
Nothing stop her from simply placing a call from the embassy and confirm who is in charge in Nigeria rather she decided to cause pain and loss for is here.
It seems the woman has interest in one of the various online businesses saying they will help one get the certificate with either N30-50K.
Please let others know, let the IG know, let the media know how one person is holding every Nigerians in Canada to ransome.

Properties / Re: Please Who Can Explain This Visible Cracks On My House Wall by OlanUp(m): 7:20am On Apr 27, 2017
I think the problem starts off from the foundation. If what is called German floor was done before setting of blocks this might not have happened because the foundation will be 'form' and topology and movement of the ground soil would not have affected the house so much as this. That is what I think is the root cause, but ask or let qualified builders and architect advice you professionally on what to be done. You can post this on the Property section so that it can be discussed on in an open forum where we have serious responders and not 'wanna be funny clowns' replying you.

Education / Zimbabwe 'goat Economy' Goats Accepted For Tuition Fees In Zimbabwe! by OlanUp(m): 10:44pm On Apr 20, 2017
Wonders will never end! Oh Zimbabwe!!!

Social media has met the goats-for-fees idea with a mixture of scorn and gallows humour. Zimbabwean novelist Tsitsi Dangarembga tweeted "If we had been told in 1970 'We are fighting to introduce cattle and goats as currency. Please help & die for this' what would we have said?"; while another Twitter user - recognising the fact that not all farm animals are born equal - asked "Can I get a job as a goat evaluator?"

Career / Re: Can I Share My Idea With My Employer? by OlanUp(m): 3:08am On Mar 17, 2017
Yteflon:
I have an idea of a viable online web platform business and i currently work for an online magazine website . i have a good relationship with my boss who is the owner of the company. I am skeptical of what will happen if i inform him of my idea. I don't know if it will still be my idea or the company's. I am a final year student so i don't have the money but i have the skills to start up. Should i wait till i have the money or look for other ways to raise money instead of giving my idea out.
Abi. what relationship will exist between me and my boss if i tell him my idea? Is it partnership or employer/employee?
Please people with experience should enlighten me

I was once in your position some fifteen (15) years ago while I was working for a boss of mine. I found that IDEA and EXPERIENCE works hand in hand. One could have a good and lofty idea but no experience (in the field) to back it up but one gets experience by working on an idea and the experience helps in the ability to create more ideas. The idea I got while working for my ex-boss is so massive that I do not have the money, equipment, network or enough experience to carry it through if I want to do it by myself and I found out that if I keep it to myself till when I am able to have all this, what makes me think that another person will not have the same insight or idea before I roll out mine? One day I told my boss about the idea and being the kind of person he is he looked at it critically withing few hours and he appoints me to head a team of 3 to work out the modalities of implementing the idea and report to him in within a week. While we are doing that he himself have already gone out to use his wealth of experience, connection, money and network to put some things in place. By the time I submit the report, I was surprised by the amount of what he has already done by himself! Things I could not think of myself (except for my crude idea). The idea worked, I was made to be in charge of it and I worked with him for another eight (cool years in which I gained a lot of experience, made a lot of contacts and grew my network and helped in exposing me to new and better equipments, software and of course outside world because so many times I have to travel withing and outside of Nigeria to represent the company in various meetings, conferences and developments. I got more ideas because I was able to share and not too much focused on MONEY, I needed to serve to be able to serve and for others to serve me, I paid my dues and not live beyond my limit. When I was ready to leave and move on, I did it gracefully and my ex-boss was even ready for my exit. Today I am based in North America and I got many other bigger and better ideas and above all experience after my first 'tiny' initial idea and my ex-boss and I are very good friends now, he even introduced to many of his people/network in North America.

One thing I find so amusing nowadays is how many young people allow the love of instant money and fame to becloud their vision from the big picture forgetting that the time of everyone is different and those that they are seeing as someone, those who they see that have 'made' it have actually worked and served to get or gain their own experience which they are using to hold together their life and businesses.

If you have a good boss- Leaderboss- he/she will be able to harness your wisdom and pay you rightly- of course not above your limit or experience and you have to know how to live withing your limit and be focused. Don't expect to share your idea by telling your boss that he has to sign a contract with you and share money fifty-fifty, if you want that and you know you are capable of such, you can simply go to the bank with your idea and get the funds and start it off and create your own followership, customers, platform and network- I am sure you know that such does not come in a day!

This is where LEVERAGE comes in- Use your boss wealth of experience and cooperation to lunch yourself by working assiduously for the company so you can have a story, never be shy to ask for a raise but not above your limit, save some money, make new positive friends, develop and educate yourself, create a niche for yourself BECAUSE a NEW and BETTER IDEA is on its way and you need all these and many more to be able to handle it, even if it means that you have to move and start your own business.

I do not know it all but I know a few!!!
Peace.

Politics / Re: Photos Of Air Force Helicopters Providing Cover Over Abuja-Kaduna Highway by OlanUp(m): 4:46am On Mar 13, 2017
tdayof:

Helicopters for rapid deployment. Don't conclude if you don't know why.

1)The helicopters can provide close air support while the drones can't.

2) as the NAF uses the same air space to train its pilots undergoing primary flying training.

Rugged7, didn't even know it's your post angry

Truly drone can be used to monitor and send signals both day and night immediately to the control room via wifi transmitting disk installed on it. The helicopter is and should always be ready for deployment anytime just like it's been ready and done if there is any territorial perceived attack. Which in turns saves a lot of cost(s) and the helicopter can be used once in a while for surveillance, data/information gathering and also training purposes at the same time.
Everybody is just trying to make sense and give ideas which I think should be done in a responsible manner rather than been abusive just to be heard.

Dsrooftiles:

You can't get that base on the building type...
You know the cost after ur wood work.
.
Carpenter first before we came in.
DAT is why I upload some of my previous project

Isn't the roofing woodwork different for various roofings, be it longspan, shingles or the bond designs?
Just wondering if it won't be better to have a projected cost based on the roofing or floor plans from your end rather than wait for the carpenter to do woodwork before you give your own price or quotations to clients.
I just need clarifications please.

3trils of sand 78k
water 10k
bricklayer wages 4000 times 5

According to my calculations it ended up at around N204K to set up your block from foundation level (to lintel level) Right?

Also, I will like to know please:
1. If you did foundation DPC (german floor) and,
2. How much (or estimate) you spent on the DPC (German floor) foundation.

You can also put up a quotation up here.

Hello,
Can you give the price(s) of the ones you might know in the areas you mentioned. This is not to discredit the lady that posted that she got one in that area, but for general idea....and who knows maybe opportunity calls for someone smiley
Also, maybe in some good areas you have
KolaShangOne:

I know that area. Are you sure it's not off Apata? On the way to Bako?

Madam some features add to price of land o.. If it's at a Cornerpiece, if it's flat, by the roadside, beside a landmark, etc etc..

And since you've already bought it, I assume you saw it before paying. If bought by family members, you know how it is (depending on your type of family members).
