MrBLING: Sorry you are wrong. Unless she left an expressed wish or any legal document to publish her personal information should she lapse into a coma, the hospital management or staff have no right to do that. She or next of kin can sue for damages.
In a sane society the hospital/police/media organization can release anonymous information eg
A female, mid forties, wearing ......clothes, .... jewelries, Is in a critical condition at ....hospital Any persons who believe they may be related should contact ......
And ps
This applies too to owners on nairaland website. For publishing her unauthorized image, while she is in the process receiving medical treatment Please, describe the dress she wears and the jewelry to someone who has not seen this picture up there. Like: An unknown female with red + green + yellow color dress with a necklace color blue with diamonds gold.... Abi? The 1st thing the reasonable minded ones we ask you is: why you no send her pix? |

Upon all the discoveries, our budget which is below 6trillion can't be fully implemented? Upon all the discoveries, we're still talking about borrowing? Upon all the discoveries, we're still in recession? I HOPE IT'S NOT AN AUDIO MONEY THAT THEY HAVE BEEN DISCOVERING SINCE? Yes it is true that there are discoveries. But most of the money are still hanging. No one from Fayose to Dansuki to Alison had been recovered. The only once recovered are the people returning part of their own |

NgeneUkwenu: My Only Disappointment is that DSS didnt follow up with more arrests Yesterday....
STATE OF EMERGENCY ON THE JUDICIARY BY NBA? YES, I AGREE. BUT TOO LATE IN COMING.
THE STATE OF EMERGENCY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DECLARED WHEN:
* A JUDGE GRANTED PERPETUAL INJUNCTION ON EX-GOV. ODILI'S CORRUPTION CASE
* WHEN EX-GOV. LUCKY IGBINEDON RECEIVED A PAT ON THE BACK ON CONVICTION AND TOLD TO PAY BACK JUST N3m AS FINE. THE MONEY HE ALREADY HAD IN HIS CAR BOOTH
*WHEN THE PENSION MEGA THIEF RECEIVED A SCANDALOUS PADDY PADDY SENTENCE
*WHEN JUDGES RANDOMLY GRANT INTERLOCUTORY INJUNCTION ON CRIMINAL MATTER. ACCORDING TO THE ERUDITE RADICAL PROF. BIODUN JEYIFO, NIGERIA IS THE ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD THAT THIS PRACTICE IS DONE. NOBODY HAS DISPUTED THIS.
*WHEN SOME LAWYERS PARTICULARLY SANs WOULD FLAGRANTLY ABUSE COURT PROCESS, FILE FRIVOLOUS APPLICATIONS TO DELAY, FRUSTRATE TO NO END CORRUPTION CASES INVOLVING HIGH PROFILE PUBLIC THIEVES
*WHEN SOME LAWYERS WOULD TELL THEIR RICH CLIENTS TO HIDE IN THEIR CARS, CONTINUE TO HIDE IN THE CREEKS/DESRRT/ABROAD, OR DELIBERATELY ABSENT FROM COURT. AND THE COUNSELS WOULD COME OUT WITHOUT SHAME TO TELL US THAT IT IS NOT THEIR JOB TO LOOK FOR HIDING SUSPECTS. YET THEY KNOW HOW TO COLLECT THEIR LEGAL FEE FROM THE HIDING GHOST SUSPECTS
LAWYER RASCALITY HAS NO OTHER MEANING. CONVENIENTLY FORGETTING THAT AS A LAWYER AND AS AN OFFICER IN THE TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, YOUR PRIMARY DUTY IS TO SEE THAT JUSTICE IS SERVED FAIRLY & SPEEDILY.
*THE NBA SHOULD HAVE DECLARED A STATE OF EMERGENCY BEYOND RHETORICS WHEN CORRUPTION CASES INVOLVING HIGH PROFILE PUBLIC OFFICERS LAST FOREVER IN THE NATION'S COURTS
*WHEN IT IS NOW A COMMON PRACTICE BY MANY LAWYERS TO HIRE ARMED THUGS TO SECURE POSSESSION OF LANDED PROPERTY AFTER A HIGH COURT RULING IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE OTHER PARTY FROM APPEALING THE CASE. THIS TERRIBLE SELF HELP PRACTICE HAS MADE MANY LAWYERS MORE POPULAR IN MOTOR PARKS WITH THE "TUALE" BOYS THAN EVEN IN NBA CIRCLE.
A NOBLE PROFESSION CANNOT JUST BE NOBLE BY NAME OR HEREDITARY. BUT BY CONSISTENT NOBLE CONDUCT, ENNOBLING ETHICS AND PRACTICE DISCIPLINE IN ORDER TO REGULARLY WEED OUT ROTTEN EGGS.
LAWYERS AND JUDGES WITHOUT SOCIAL CONSCIENCE ARE WORSE THAN ARMED ROBBERS
YES, THERE ARE A LOT OF GOOD LAWYERS & JUDGES IN NIGERIA WHO WILL NEVER BE DESPERATE TO BE SUPER RICH BY ALL MEANS NECRDSARY INCLUDING SACRIFICING THE NOBILITY OF THE WELL RESPECTED PROFESSION.
IF YOUR HOUSE IS STINKING WITH LOADS OF DEBRIS AND YOU DO NOT SERIOUSLY BOTHER TO CLEAN IT, BLAME NOBODY BUT YOURSELF IF AND WHEN "WOLE WOLE" POUNCE ON YOU.
LAWYERS & JUDICIARY PLEASE HEAL THYSELF FIRST.
May God Bless Muhammadu Buhari! My own disappointment was the failure of the DSS to give Wike a very hot slap when obstructing them to do their work. |

bejeiodus: The DSS acted ultra vires. They went overboard with their abominable actions.
The fight against corruption, while applaudable, must be done within the ambit of law.
The bench should consider this appalling treatment of its members an assault on its independence. All lovers of democracy and the rule of law must rise in unison and condemn this act of tyranny. Nigeria is not Stalin's Russia and the President must be told so.
By the way, the DSS should provide ocular evidence of the money found in the homes of these judges. It has become a pastime of the government and its agencies to bandy humongous figures about. Since you know the law, tell us what the DSS has done wrong. The law has not stipulated what time of the day an arrest can be made. If THE DSS has gone to arrest a common man, will Wike run out like that? Does the judge has 2 heads? |

DonX001: Truth be told, Linda or Toyin should not be blamed for saying it was a scam. Why?? Because there was actually a scam.
The scam was in making people believe she could be cured. The family made people believe that she could be cured, (that was why they used the hashtag #SaveMayowa...like she could be saved by medicine).... when it had been made very very clear to them that her cancer was far beyond medical help.
Once I saw that her medical report, I knew she had only a few days to go...even if she is in the best hospital in the entire solar system. I knew once they put her on such a long flight, her death would come much faster.
If the family did not make it seem like there was a cure for her, people would not have donated that much money, and could use their money to help other people that need money and can actually be saved, instead of a case that was certified hopeless medically.
Basically, the family gave Nigerians false hope that there was a cure when there was absolutely none, and gathered money based on that belief. That, in my opinion, is fraudulent. If Mayowa was your sister, would you give up just like that? What they did is humane to me. In a sane land, patients were treated until after the last breath. |

There are people walking today after years of doctors telling them they won't last 3 months. It's their kinds that wake up in the mogue because someone is in a hurry to get rid of them.
