Can't wait to see the kind of thrashing ATM go give barca.barca na wowo team, they solidly depend on Messi.. instead of creating chances for other players all of them were busy looking for Messi to pass the ball to. 5 Likes |

Politics / Ganduje Backs Obaseki’s Disqualification by olasco2035: 8:53pm On Jun 15, 2020 |
Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, on Monday, backed the disqualification of Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, from contesting the All Progressives Congress governorship primary scheduled to hold on June 22. During a media parley to mark Democracy Day, Ganduje said the political crisis in Edo politics “is normal in any democratic dispensation”, adding that “the APC is being conscious of the legal implications that may follow after the elections”. The APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, after a meeting of the National Working Committee, said the NWC members were unanimous in their decision to disqualify the Edo State governor. Ganduje said, “Other political parties are also embroiled in crisis but, as far as this (Edo) issue is concerned, we are more worried about legality. We have to follow rules and regulations while conducting our affairs for the election. “We believe the national headquarters, as far as Kano State is concerned is doing all what it takes for the success of the APC in the Edo election. “The party is also mindful that all the procedures are followed and we believe we will win the election because there is a high degree of mobilisation, and as such we are conscious of legal issues, pertaining to elections. “We are all aware of how the APC won the election in Bayelsa state, and due to legal issues, we lost that election. So, the party is fully conscious of that. The party does not want to overlook certain issues. As far as election procedures are concerned, we are following our party’s constitution and manifesto, we are following the electoral law, we are following the Nigerian constitution in trying to manage electoral issues in the party, which is very important.” https://punchng.com/ganduje-backs-obasekis-disqualification/?amp=1&__twitter_impression=true

Health / More COVID-19 Patients Recover In Kano After Sallah by olasco2035: 2:50pm On Jun 03, 2020 |
More COVID-19 Patients Recover in Kano after Sallah POLITICS DIGEST– After the initial surge in COVID-19 cases in Kano, the State has recently seen a significant improvement in its sustained fight to defeat the pandemic as the number of infections, deaths and discharged cases are reassuring on the efforts. Due to the ravaging coronavirus pandemic, countries across the world were in total lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus leading to the ban of religious gatherings, while markets, restaurants and malls were all closed. Apart from Lagos, Kano has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria. A week before Sallah, Kano recorded 896 confirmed cases, 133 discharged and 36 death casualties. The confirmed cases relatively increased after sallah with 951 and the death cases increased from 36 to 43 as of the 30th of May 2020. It is amazing that the state witnessed a skyrocketing figure of discharged patients jumping from 133 in the previous week to 200 a week after Sallah. As the Federal Government lift ban on lockdown in Kano with the state government giving guidelines of protocol in its effort to open markets for people to continue with their normal business; Politics Digest takes a look at the rising and decreasing number of COVID-19 cases in the state from the week of eidl fitr celebration and aftermath. When contacted over the development, a medical doctor in the department of Community Medicine at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Dr Usman Bashir said that the increase in the number of confirmed cases is not enough, more testing should be done looking at the population of the state. “The recovered number of patients and confirmed cases are not encouraging, as lockdown is not sustainable. The government has to come up with an effective strategy in fighting the virus and people need to cooperate in a collective effort to reduce if not eradicate the risk.” When asked if the state was winning the battle against the pandemic, Dr Usman simply replied thus: “We have not reached the stage of general assessment. The government must nevertheless do more especially testing.”
