I know the SA thing is paining you as you say, also me too. But please hear my perspective:

I have lived in SA for almost 20 years.

What you see as pure xenophobia is actually community Vigilantism gone wrong or hijacked by criminals.

Some of the shops looted and destroyed are actually covers for a serious crime.

Some of our brothers take over entire areas and turn them into drug markets. But because the law in SA does not allow police to arrest criminals unless with evidence or unless shot at, so what happens is the drug guys hide these drugs in shops, restaurants etc and use as a face.
There are up to 30 public "drug" markets in Joburg alone. These are areas where 50 to 200 Nigerians converge on street corners to sell drugs. That's just in Johannesburg, and excludes other places.
The community knows and they try to inform the police. Sometimes these guys get arrested and bribe their way out when it fails the community takes laws into their hands.

Nigerians are not being targetted per se. The target is street drug dealers and yahoo boys who are mostly Nigerian.

Personally, in an area of Johannesburg, some years ago, drug dealers almost took over my property. We bought it and in the process of renovation, they invaded it and turned it into a drug hotel. It took God to evict them without being killed. It was led by Nigerians. In that property, there were families with women and children.

One strategy of selling drugs is to befriend young secondary school.Girls and introduce them. They get hooked and they start stealing and prostitution to feed the habit. Soon the entire area deteriorates.
Now, why I am sharing this with you is that the drug dealers are distracting attention. They are trying to make the Nigerian Government arise in anger and defend "Nigerians" ie defend drug dealers. if they succeed, they'd have staged a powerful coup. They'd have entered an official mafioso level, protected by Government.

Please see the article below: The Nigeria ambassador to SA said the majority of killings are perpetrated by fellow Nigerians. It's a drug turf war. he is right. I know some who've been killed.

So how can we accuse others of killing us when we are perpetrating it?

Those videos and pictures circulating of Nigerians in SA- how is it that we are shown only in the light of guys on the street? I know top Robotics engineers in SA, I know people in Top IT firms, developers, in Amazon, Google etc, I know top bankers, property company owners, many doctors, Superintendent of hospitals, professors, Pastors, etc.

So in summary here are my thoughts

- A vast majority of upright Nigerians in SA are very comfortable. They are doctors, teachers, business owners, etc. If we don't get the right story, we can set off a diplomatic war, everything collapses and these guys become targets. Currently, they are not being targetted by anyone. many are married to South Africans. Some head Government agencies and private companies.

- Yes, there are some xenophobic South Africans, but just like we fought against stigmatizing Fulani, we must also fight against stigmatizing South Africans. There are VERY many good South Africans, who don't buy into any form of oppression. Let us encourage our government to join with the South African Government and carry out a security raid on drug dealers.

If the Government announces this, you will see they will flee because they'll know the cover is blown! xenophobic attacks will reduce 95%.

The biggest donation event in the history of SA was in 2007 when people gave to victims of xenophobic attacks. The amount given was a record. It shows that the nation is not buying into that mindset.

- Please use your powerful platform to create a voice for good Nigerians in SA. You will be surprised. Many are afraid to talk because even Nigerian organizations in SA are infiltrated and even controlled by drug dealers and kingpins. No one wants to be killed. These guys are very powerful.

- These same guys being paraded as Nigerians under attack are the same guys who HATE everything PMB stands for. If you visit their hag outs (we sometimes buy food there) and talk about Buhari, they can kill you, literarily. Why? because they hate what he stands for and they hate that he is saying we should become good citizens.

- Communities fighting to save themselves should not.be hushed but.helped to do it in a better way. Not jungle justice.
- Yes the SA Government must not also be left without responsibility in the matter, they should be tasked to step up their game too. While Nigeria targets drug dealers and yahoo buys, South Africa should target miscreants and criminals in a joint operation. SA Government also needs to purge bad eggs in its police force who are compromised. It Also needs to take its own share of blame for unemployment, poverty and economic challenges and social issues that allow drugs to be demanded.

I close with a prophecy by Pa Elton

This is Buhari's "Mandela" moment. Will he rise up and shake off the pain and anger and mobilize Africa to unify or will he take a position that reverses the building of unity? I think he will do the right thing by God's grace, but I also believe publicizing the truth will help him and citizens.

Kano Governorship Election Tribunal: APC closes defence with one witness as panel fix September 18th for final written addresses


The third respondent in the Kano governorship election tribunal hearing, the All Progressive Congress (APC) has closed its defence after presenting only one witness as against the 207 witnesses submitted before the election tribunal.

It may be recalled that the APC lead counsel, Chief Alex Ezion, SAN, on Friday, 23rd August 2019 requested the panel to adjourn its sitting till today, Monday 26th August 2019 for the continuation of witness presentation by the third respondent.

Contrary to the earlier request, the lead counsel, who was represented by Barrister Ibrahim Garba Waru, informed the tribunal that they have no any other witness to present after Professor Ibrahim Khalil Abdulsalam of Bayero University who was the INEC Returning Officer of Nassarawa during the March 9th Gubernatorial Elections.

He, in addition, informed the tribunal of their wish to close their defence within two days out of the allocated ten days.

In her response, the Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Halima Shamaki Muhammad adjourned the sitting till Wednesday, 18th of September, 2019 for the adoption of final addresses from both the appellants and the respondents.

Earlier, the counsel to INEC, Barrister Adedayo Adedeji, applied for the opening of final written addresses process which was seconded by the counsel of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Chief MN Dura and the PDP's Eyitayo Fatogun.

It was unanimously agreed that the respondents (INEC, Ganduje, and APC) would prepare their respective written addresses within ten days while the petitioners will respond in seven days after which the respondents are expected to counter-reply on the point of law within only five days.

The Tribunal is expected to reconvene on Wednesday, the 18th of September, 2019 for the adoption of the final written addresses, a sitting that supposed to be next to the delivery of judgment by the tribunal.

It was gathered that the petitioners, PDP and its candidate Engr. Abba K. Yusuf took 14 days to present 4,020 documentary evidence and 34 oral witnesses out of 257, INEC as the first respondent, took only two days to present three witnesses out the 29 in it submitted. While Ganduje, the second respondent, was able to present four witnesses in 3 days out of the 203 he submitted to the tribunal. The third respondent, the APC, took two days to present one witness out 207 earlier submitted.

Previously, it was expected that both parties would take a total of 44 days for the presentation of witnesses, but spent only 21 days, while only 54 witnesses were presented as against the 696 expected to be presented before the Tribunal.  

Friday 11th of October, 2019 will be the last day of the 180 days provided by the Electoral Act 2010 as amended for the Election Petition Tribunal to complete is the assignment.

Elections Petition Tribunal inaugurated in Kano

Abdulmumin Murtala, Kano The Governorship, National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal has been inaugurated in Kano Thursday morning and has resumed its activities immediately. court The Tribunal is made up of the chairman Hon Justice Nayai Aganaba Ashu and two other members in persons of Hon Justice Augustine Ewah and Hon Justice Mustapha Tijjani. Delivering the inaugural speech, the chairman Justice Aganaba declared that the tribunal will operate without any external influences. “All decisions will be based on the submissions of the Tribunal and not any external influences whatsoever. “Whosoever is aggrieved by the decisions of the Tribunal can seek redress in the Appeal court” he stated. He further emphasised on the need to respect formal court procedures and ethics. “Though not an easy task, but we are ready to ensure justice is done. I seek the indulgence of all stakeholders to bare with one another and also be conscious of the time frame. “The lawyers should respect and follow due court processes by allowing each other to make their points without obstruction” he appealed. In the meantime, there are 33 Petitions before the Tribunal of which 11 are of the House of Representative and 22 others for the State House of Assembly. Welcoming the learned members of the Petition Tribunal, the Attorney General of Kano state Ibrahim Mukhtar promised that the members will have a smooth stay and conducive atmosphere to do justice to the cases before them.

The victory of Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last governorship election held in Ekiti State has been upheld by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
A three-man panel of the court, in judgment a moment ago, dismissed the appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the election. Kolapo Olusola for lacking in merit.
The court upheld the January 28, 2019 judgment of the Ekiti State Election Tribunal, which sat in Abuja owing to problem of insecurity in Ekiti State.

I just come to wonder why ist that there is no any picture or video of jubilation going on in kano....everywhere just look quite.... I even pass through the government house no any celebration. I saw just few thugs out side the government house smoking their marijuana....... a state with a population of around 15m but people are not out side celebrating the Victory of governor ganduje.........for those that were happy with what happen in kano state....may ur life continue to be as peaceful as the election was...Allahuma Ameen
