Danchiks:
Dear Nairalanders any comment on this?
The vice president and presidential candidate of the Action Congress (AC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, was last night feared disqualified from contesting the April presidential election.
Sources told Daily Sun that the vice president, who has been having a running battle with President Olusegun Obasanjo, is among seven candidates who the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has barred from participating in this year’s elections.
but u could have just read what this thread is about before posting. There's a political section that would cater to your needs. just start a thread there.

what has being a yoruba man got to do with having integrity.
waffistyle:
Mr. Donald Duke was my first Choice, but unfortunately he was forced to step down, based on Babas instructions, Baba everyday is revealing his "wayo" tendencies, common in Yorubas, it is very difficult to see a Yoruba that stands strong on his words, this man is skilled in deceit, and thinks he is smarter than everybody else,

ATIKU FOR PRESIDENT, HE IS MY NEW MAN
you shouldn't get all emotional because you're discussing nigerian politics. does abacha and IBB's performance while in office describe the Hausa people.

Obasanjo's performance as president should be judged in the light of his personal character. u should know that some of his most ardent critics are yorubas.

the truth is that nigeria needs leaders with vision and a strong passion to bring development to her people. a lot of people rooting for donald duke have never been near the creeks of the niger-delta, but when you see a visionary you know it. it has nothing to do with ethnicity

there's a toyota hilux 4-wheel drive ad where some aliens(some little funny-looking creatures) land in the open-back of the jeep. when the driver alights to get a drink, they take the jeep on a ride across muddy paths and they return it b4 the driver gets backs. he comes out to find his jeep all muddied up; the creatures then take a bow to superb driving experience.

These last weeks of the year will definitely give an indication of who has the better chance of winning the league.

The pressure is on man u, and if they do drop points, chelsea might just cooly slip past them.

Chelsea are better able to absorb this kind of pressure of maitaining a lead.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has launched a thinly-veiled attack on old rival Arsene Wenger's tactical ability ahead of Sunday's match against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

When asked if he was jealous of Arsenal's free-flowing brand of football, compared to Chelsea's elegantly industrial approach, Mourinho scoffed at the suggestion, mocking Arsenal's frailty that sees them languishing ten points behind Chelsea, despite having scored as many goals as the reigning Premiership champions.

Mourinho said: 'We are a team adapted to the reality, which is why Arsenal cannot beat Bolton at Bolton and why Chelsea under me have played three matches and got three victories at Bolton with zero goals conceded.

'For my concept of football, the best football is the football adapted to the circumstances.

'You cannot play against Bolton at Bolton the same you play at home against Watford. My feeling is that some teams and some managers play every game with the same philosophy, with the same game principles and with the same game strategy.

'Sometimes they beat someone 6-0 and sometimes they lose a game they shouldn't lose.'

ProgrammingRe: Database Administrators On Nairaland by olawa20(m): 2:34pm On Nov 23, 2006
I've just had my oracle 10g certification and also looking for a job to get experience.

In Nigeria, it can hardly happen the other way round except you find yourself in organisations that make use of DB Tools and u're fortunate to be allowed near the database at all.

I think the best thing to do is to be armed with a lot of skills especially in the area of program development and try to start doing stuffs on your own. That is what i'm trying to do now.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manutd Vs Chelsea (battle Of Old Trafford) by olawa20(m): 1:19pm On Nov 23, 2006
i've enjoyed this thread a lot

lots of jibes and fireworks.

but sunday is just around the corner and i'm sure the game is just going to be as interesting as that between barca and chelsea.

i'll advise fans of both clubs to just  enjoy the match

definitely none of the teams are pushovers.

man u has been very hot this season but they've been beaten and they can be beaten.

chelsea has shown that it can rise up to the challenge of big teams but they can be annoyingly dissapointing atimes.

PoliticsRe: Donald Duke For 2007 Presidency? by olawa20(m): 2:46pm On Nov 10, 2006
its funny how some people can still be pushing for some old guards like IBB. it's pretty useless just thinking about it.

He's had his opportunity at addressing the Nigerian situation and he has bungled it.

We need young visionary guys like Duke and Utomi and that's stating the obvious. Duke's achievement in the last seven years speak for itself.

Thoug Duke still has to come out and give enunciate what his vision for nigeria is. Pat Utomi has been doing that and he sounds reasonable, but to be realistic, his chances are slim. Duke has a fair chance.
PoliticsRe: Atiku Is A Disgrace To Nigerians by olawa20(m): 8:18pm On Sep 25, 2006
Obasanjo being corrupt or not is not much of an issue any longer. He's about completing 8 years in office. We will never get to know the true position of things if we allow them to impose a prodigy of theirs on us.

At this time, I think we should be more interested in some of those jostling for power. That is where assessing Atiku is crucial because he appear(ed) to be one of the major contenders. If he is corrupt, then there should be no chance for his likes at clinching the exalted office of president.

i'm watching a tribute to him on Animal Planet. You just can't deny the passion Steve had for what he did. He sure died doing what he loved doing best. He died passionately having contributed to his society. There's no better way to die.
