The natural egg tastes so much better than these layer eggs everywhere.

hi.kindly enlighten us on the local names of this grasses and those grasses we can dry up to form hay. i really love rabbits as pet, i heard they feed on kicthen waste also, buh am quite sure its not all kitchen waste that are beneficial to them, lets know those kitchen waste we shld never try to feed rabbit with, fnx.

You are not alone, Finished feed/Toll milling? I susoect feed. Feed is a culprit.However,check for water,vaccination, liceand lighting . All the best.

Fnx bro, am using finished feed (hybrid) their vaccination is up to date, der are even drinking normal nd even healthy cos dey re nt showing any sign of ill health at all, buh dier prod is reducing

My layers are just 35wks old their production droped gradually to 69% from 82%, wah exactly is wrong wif them coz am very scared , i got them as point of lay (1000 birds) nd now remains 970, av spent a total of #1,008000( one million eighy thousands naira) nd av realized 761,500 (seven hundred and sixty one thousands five hundred naira). Abeg is dis normal

U still need patience. Egg size will still increase so far as u feed them well. The profit u make will vary base on percentage lay and the price u sell. I don't know if their is a fixed ratio for expense vs profit.

Sorry for the late reply. I hope it's nt too late. I've been off NL for a while now.
1. On floor syst, u deworm evry 2-3 months. On cage it can be evry 3-4mnths if ur birds have no contact with droppings.
2. Give antibiotics when u anticipate illness or when they are over stressed. I gave mine at least once per mnth even when nothing is wrong with them.
3. Feed 2x per day and turn their feed as often as possible. This applies to caged layers. It encourage them to eat more.
4-5: there is a sample feeding chart that I hav on my website, but unfortunately the site is nt currently active. So google for layers feeding chart to get the info
6. On cage syst, u can expect up to 90% lay if u follow good practices. Egg prices are high now, so find out the current price from farmers in ur locatn. I currently sell unsorted crate for N750. The first eggs will have small sizes and so their price will be lower. That's the size that egg roll sellers and Mee tea people like.

My advise is that u keep proper records and learn from ur mistakes. And hav plan to expand.

fnx alot farmtech, i really appreciate ur response, despite the fact dat it's late, at least u still replied me. one more thing still baffles me bro. bfore i venture into this poultry business som pple says wen they start laying well, their production wld buy their feed and also that same amount of money u used for their feed wld be ur gain , i:e 50-50 (50% for their feed and the other 50% is the farmers profit) hw true is dat?
secondly my layers re currently 29 weeks and their %prod is 80% is this normal? more so they re still laying medium eggs and i sell each crate at #630 for those that are buying in large quantity nd #650 retailers, after deducting expenses am left wit #4500 each day (i.e my daily profit is nt the same as my daily expenses)

ADVICE PLSSSSSSSSSSS. is it advisable to channel my backyard layers poo into my septic tank

Hello, the small eggs you have are called peewee eggs, that's the size you will get at first when your layers start laying eggs then after some weeks, they will start laying small, medium,large etc. I am like you too an d looking for peewee market and my Oga told me I can sell them for 500 a crate

And we gave our condition that we need the "PRESS" to capture and broadcast us before we dialogue with any individual, because protests have been embarked over the years and student have being threated or sometimes negotiated with. But because this time we refuse to allow our gentility to be taken for stupidity and we proceeded with our peaceful protest without Vandalizing any property of the community. #SaveFunaab

Not until the policemen started with "tear gas" and "gun shots" with the students of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria standing valorously at the point of gun, and some running here and there with the security officers. #SaveFunaab

Not until a student was shot in the eye, because he engaged in free and peaceful protest this painted the whole incident "black indeed". That was when the students grievances became uncontrollably and probably everything within the student reach were damaged. #SaveFunaab

The students arrested yesterday have not been bailed for what reason and the school security officer can't even help it. hmmm, my no is 09033011825, u cn hy me on whatsapp too. the manure is readily available, what exactly do u want to use it for (to feed fish or put on ur farmland)? cos i rear them (the layers) in ba3 cage system and i dnt use wood shave cos som pple do com pack it for their fish and then giv me a tip buh its of disadvantage to my poultry management cos those people wont come to pack it on time (dey want it to be fully maggot) and its not hygienic cos of the smell which may cause dismay to the birds and also leads to disagreement frm d community, so i do call them wen am down financially so dey can com for the maggot buh if otherwise i do pack it away. hence it readily available. moreover where do u reside? dats my no above u can pm me on whatsapp also
