If no be say some poor people carry school education for head, how you for take dey type wetin you just type for your post ?

Abi ALL your primary and secondary school teachers dem be from millionaire families?

A person's poverty is usually a factor MANY things working together — not simply about whether they are from poor background forcing themself to attend UNI.

Some people from poor family backgrounds made it in life EXACTLY by forcing themself to attend UNI.

Yet it may not work for other people due to some other factors caused by themselves or by other people or situations.

You talk about learning trade as if it's the AUTOMATIC passport to being financially ok. There are tons of financially struggling artisans in our country.

If I have a beef for university education I will address it straight up. I won't be judging people "carrying it for head" as if they're doing something wrong.
People just shouting skills, skills...

The reality is skill alone will not put food on your table, if you don't know how to market it to get customers that will pay you money.

That's why alot of Okada men today will tell you that they have a skill or trade but no patronage, they have to leave their shop and drive Okada.

The emphasis in the Nigeria labour market is still on certificate rather than skill. The first ir even the only thing Nigerian employer require is certificate.

So don't blame them.

Again have you heard that saying, if education is expensive try ignorance?

Is just that the system in Nigeria right now is not working right, otherwise you won't be saying this thing.

People are striving and struggling to make a life and you are mocking them!!!

Also the mode of employment in Nigeria right now is based on who you know, based on relationship. So right now an employer can give a job meant for a PhD to a primary school cert holder based purely relationship such dear friend, likeness, appearance and attractiveness, it is that bad and appalling.
This is NOT entirely true.

In terms of connection, it might be true for say Government jobs, but private businesses and multinationals, your experience is what they need.

Jobs are scarce, and hard to comeby especially for fresh graduates, but as you progresses and gain experience opportunities get easier for you.

It can be a woman issue.

It can be a mistaken identity.

I stayed in Nigeria for four years after graduation and made no serious headway. I left Nigeria thereafter and after three years living outside the country, I was able to buy a house of over 80k USD in the same Nigeria.

What does that tell you?
It wasn't even a serious job that I was doing. It was basically me trying to leverage all the economic opportunities I met in those foreign lands. How commonly possible is such story in Nigeria?

Anyone who's trying to diminish the quantity and quality of opportunities outside the country for young Nigerian immigrants, is simply devilish in his ways..

TravelRe: Is Leaving Nigeria For Europe Really Better Than Staying Back To Build Something by Olawrites: 1:38pm On May 15
ariesbull:
Why do many young Nigerians believe the only way to succeed is to leave home?

Every day, thousands dream about Europe as the ultimate escape route — better roads, stable electricity, cleaner systems, stronger currency, and a more comfortable life. On social media, it often looks perfect. People post pictures in winter jackets, airports, clean streets, and foreign apartments, making it seem like life automatically becomes successful once you leave Nigeria.

But behind many of those pictures is another story nobody talks about enough.

The truth is that only a small percentage of Nigerians abroad are genuinely thriving financially and emotionally. Yes, some people have built successful careers, businesses, and stable lives overseas, and their success deserves respect. But for the overwhelming majority, life abroad is often a constant cycle of survival, bills, and pressure.

Many Nigerians abroad are living paycheck to paycheck. After rent, taxes, transportation, childcare, insurance, and endless expenses, there is little left. Some work exhausting shifts in warehouses, factories, care homes, or cleaning jobs for years with no real ownership or long-term security to show for it. Some are constantly anxious about visas, residency papers, documentation renewals, or immigration status. Behind the smiling pictures online are sleepless nights, loneliness, depression, and fear of uncertainty.

Some people spend ten or twenty years abroad and still cannot confidently say they have built a lasting foundation either there or back home in Nigeria. No land. No investment. No business. No real roots. Just survival from one month to another.

And as time passes, deeper worries begin to appear.

Many quietly wonder what old age will look like for them abroad. Will their children, raised fully in Western culture, still value family the same way Nigerians traditionally do? Will those children want to care for them personally when they grow old, or will they eventually end up alone in care homes, visited occasionally out of obligation rather than love and connection?

Some even worry about where they will finally be buried. Back home in Nigeria among their ancestors and family roots? Or in a foreign land where their children may feel more attached to than the country their parents came from?

These are painful conversations many people avoid having openly.

Meanwhile, back in Nigeria, despite all the frustration and hardship, there are people quietly building lives with purpose, ownership, and legacy.

Nigeria is still one of the biggest untapped markets in the world. In a country with over 200 million people, almost every problem is a business opportunity waiting for someone brave enough to solve it. While many people are focused on escaping, others are building companies, brands, farms, schools, tech startups, transport businesses, and real estate portfolios.

People behind companies in Nigeria that are unicorn, like fintechs, trading firms etc and did not wait for another country to hand them opportunities. They saw possibilities inside Nigeria and built around them.

Even in entertainment, we have seen many become global names while remaining deeply connected to their Nigerian identity and culture.

And beyond celebrities, there are ordinary Nigerians who may never trend online but are building quietly every day. The man who owns a growing supermarket chain in Aba. The woman running a successful fashion business in Lagos. The young developer earning remotely from Nigeria. The farmer expanding his land year after year. These people may not post foreign pictures online, but they are creating something solid and lasting.

Of course, this does not mean Europe is bad or that nobody should travel. There are Nigerians abroad doing incredibly well, building wealth, raising healthy families, and creating opportunities. Some people genuinely need to leave for education, healthcare, security, or a better quality of life.

But maybe the real question is this:

Should success only be measured by leaving Nigeria?

Because sometimes, the person staying back to build a business, create jobs, buy land, support family, preserve culture, and leave behind a legacy may actually be building a richer life than someone abroad living from shift to shift with nothing truly theirs.

At the end of the day, earning a paycheck is one thing. Building something that outlives you is another.
Keep building until bandit kidnap you or family and demand huge ransom,

Keep building until one useless government policy bring your capital to zero

Keep building until you have nothing left due to weak Naira.

We are being ruled by certificate fogers, cultist, nonetities and daft leaders in Nigeria

Hear me out: Multiple partners bring healthy competition that pushes everyone to be their best. Plus, when you're intentional about NEVER showing favoritism and always listening to every single person's needs before finding common ground

it builds a level of commitment you simply can't get from just one relationship.

Some will say it's selfish.

I say it's about embracing what makes us human and trusting the universe to connect us with people who share this vision.

School is not a scam. To the younger ones still in school, face your studies, your CGPA is important for further opportunities especially scholarship.

Op, this is not a good one. I'll not sugarcoat it. Assuming you have 3.0/5.0 it'll be manageable. Assuming US is open I know tons of schools that will accept this.

However, as it is now, my advice focus on Canada by doing Wes evaluation. That'll probably make your GP meaningful.

EducationIs education still the best legacy? by Olawrites(op):
We have all been scammed. Education is a scam. If a boy is trained to be a mechanic at about the same age his parents had enrolled him with his peers in kindergarten, he would have become a professional mechanic at the age 35 with a very fat bank account.

A graduate after NYSC in this country is like a naked man in arctic. Everywhere is so freaking cold.

The dividends, promises, and expectation that comes with the tag of a graduate is not what it appears to be. Not in any part of Nigeria, anyway.

It takes at-least sixteen years of intense labour and sacrifice to be a graduate, but what do we get out of it? You can answer this.

Even in developed economies, education in most parts of the world is a scam.

For those like me with full funding and are hoping to make it by fall, it is highly unlikely Trump will lift the ban except a miracle happens. The only country (Turkmenistan) that was lifted off non immigrant ban between June and December, their president met with Trump at the White House during the Central Asia US Summit. I suspect it came up as part of their discussions.

I am not seeing any sign of seriousness from the Nigerian government.

Our only hope of making it by fall IMO will come from the courts.

IMMpact Litigation — 39-Country Ban Case (Yet to be filed)

Based on his obsession, I don't see him lifting the ban throughout his administration.

With the recent massacre in Jos, the war in Iran solidifying trumps claim to tighter borders and BAT's growing moves to appease regions for 2027 moves, it's obvious Nigeria is not getting off that list this year.

Nigeria has no benefits to the USA in any regard whatsoever, and POTUS has three years with no reelection, so he has nothing to lose.
It's obvious.

Like others have said, there is not a whole lot that your school can do and even if you had been issued your I-20, your visa will be denied except you meet one of the exemptions outlined.

You can wait till June to see if the ban is lifted or you can request to defer your admission to Spring or Fall 2027 and find out whether TA, tuition waiver, and scholarship will still apply if you do so.
June is not feasible for this ban to be lifted, let's be honest with ourselves.

Will the Partial Ban be lifted in June or December 2026?

There is no announced review date. Policies like this are usually lifted only if:
1. Security and information-sharing concerns are resolved.

2. Diplomatic negotiations between Nigeria and the U.S. succeed.

3. A new administration or policy change occurs.

Historically, similar U.S. travel/visa restrictions sometimes lasted "2–4 years" before being removed.

Realistic probability (Based on past visa bans):

Time
Chance of lifting

June 2026
Low (~10–20%)

December 2026
Moderate (~25–40%)

2027–2028
More likely.
