Living in a $950,000 home in the ghetto is not "Up and coming". It is borderline Insanity. Maybe they like the view.

The 350Z was suppose to be something of a "smash hit" for Nissan. It has had lack luster sales, and there are other roadsters that are better and cheaper. If you were in the US i would have adviced you to go for the all new and stylish Pontiac Solstice, priced Loaded at $24,000 www.gm.com. But i think the 350Z has had only one minor recall, and i do not know of any mechanical headaches yet. But it has only been in the market for three years. Usually you get the full gist of an all new model of car at the 5yrs mark. The jury is still out on the 350Z. But please save money and import, they are going to rob you in Nigeria with those prices.

Just go to your local bank and open a Dom account and then wire the funds over to your German account. You do not need an agent. Good Luck!!

Wow that is brutal!! What has the British Embassy got to do with an already issued US visa? I guess the UK has Veto power over the US in Nigeria.

The USA is too big to make it happen. Some will want to meet in ATL, some will want Miami, and what of those in the Mid Atlantic or West Coast. It is hard to come and just to do movies/bowling in the US. I think you should have had a NL summit during the past Reunion.

The 350Z has not been a success for Nissan and it has not lived up to the Glory of the original Nissan 300Z. But anyway i think you should be able to get that car for about $22,000-$25,000 for a 03 or 04 with good miles convertible. That car is flooded in the market with stick shift, and please do not buy one that has been in an accident. Always check www.carfax.com before you buy. Use the VIN# and you should get the info on that vehicle. I think you would save N1.5- N2 million if you import yourself.
TravelRe: U.S. Charges Its Citizens $150 To Be Evacuated From War Zone! by OldGlory1(m): 10:12pm On Jul 21, 2006
@Seun

You are absolutely right.

@Krazysage

There is a difference between a "Natural Disaster" Katrina, and a "War Zone" . No American has died in Lebanon yet, and many are still not evacuating. It is a choice, not by force.

@Lukkie

The Government through the State debt continuously warns citizens about the dangers in the Middle east, and yet people CHOOSE to go there. Out of the estimated 25,000 Americans in Lebanon, only about 10,000 have asked to be evacuated. Again it is a choice. You have US marines risking their lives to rescue civilians inside Lebanon, the US navy has warships scrambling from the Indian Ocean, what more do you want the government to do? The US government is doing it's duty and has executed it well. The state dept is being praised by the evacuees. I am not sure what the criticism is for? The $150 is a token amount and i would pay gladly. All citizens are being taken care of. There is no racial bias, If you show your passport, you are eligible.

Those US citizens in Lebanon are probably not paying taxes. They government did not send to Lebanon. The US state dept does it best to update citizens of the risks before they travel www.state.gov. When the going gets tough, they Embassies and State dept help secure citizens and evacuate them. If it cost $1000, i think they should pay. It is not like they are told to pay before they leave, the are told to pay "WHEN THEY CAN".

You got your info from where? Some members of the US senate and house scolded the State dept for charging US citizens,that is about it. The house has not passed any resolution that i know of. Where did you get your gist from?

I would say that is very cheap for the Marines, the Navy/Ocean Liners and a plane ride home. Plus you sign a "I owe U form" and the government gives you ample time to pay back. It is not the government that sent those citizens to Lebanon. The US and EU governments have done well for their citizens abroad and many evacuees are pleased.

Please let me know what you think, if you have been "Bounced" let us know why, and how you presented your Case. If you have appealed a Visa refusal, let us know how it went. Those that were successful for B1/B2,F-1,H-1,H-2 Visas, please tell us your story. Nigerians spend over $100 Million for a non-refundable Visa application fees. Why do we keep coming back, when we are refused in such large numbers? And why do Nigerians lie so much on their application? Over 900,000 apply for US Visas every year, i think maybe 15% are successful. Yet we keep coming back. Is the US embassy in Lagos Racist toward Nigerians? Speak your mind!!

My Personal Opinion is that they should increase the price of the fees no weed out the fakers from those that really want to visit. I think they should use not only fingerprints but also Biometrics, Eye Scans and Document Verification Technologies to prevent scams. And there should be a "Cooling Period" for all applicants and mandatory interviews for all. Making it much harder for women of child bearing ages to visit. They should make it hard period,and Nigerians will then stop trying.

My point is the embassy needs to discourage Nigerians from fleeing en-mass, and make it even harder for them to visit. What is your opinion? www.Nigeriaworld.com has a good read on this topic.
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by OldGlory1(m): 4:52am On Jul 21, 2006
Wow!! Is anyone watching this Israeli pounding of Hezbollah Positions in Southern Beirut? My God i am proud of the American Made F-16 Fighter Jets with their precision guided missiles. All that bombing and only 300 people dead in Lebanon. Israel needs to keep up with this offensive, and maybe Hezbollah will soon wave the white flags. But i am loving every piece of this war. Is it just me, or is there something entertaining about war?

I thought that project was done? Wasn't it Julius Berger building it back in the late 90's? But the one in Abuja is done right?

Nigeria will never be like Lexington, at least not in your lifetime. You need to bring down your expectations. Maybe you might compare Nairobi or Abidjan, but not any Major city in the USA.

Nobody is being carpet bombed. The US carpet bombed Afghanistan during the exchange in Tora Bora. I wish Israel would Carpet Bomb Southern Beirut and rid that area of Hezbollah.

No wonder everyone wants to leave. The can live the lifestyle here very easily. Replace the word "Big Boy" with" Baller" Replace Lagos with Los Angeles or NYC. But note to Nigerian Big Dreamers, the Jail system works here in the US. The credit card stuff demands a minimum of 5yrs with hard labor.

U got me spinning!! Your made a point and immediately contradicted yourself twice in one post. If there is so much access to power in Nigeria, i am sure you would agree that "Your Guru/Chairman", had access to IBB. Listen his wealth is not a fluke, he does not need to hold office to steal tax payer money. All i am saying is that i Hate the MF, and he should act like any other regular folk and respond to EFCC summons. I blamed the "Government for N15 per minute calls". Dude if Verizon does not want my business, i go cingular,if cingular acts up, i head to T-mobile, then there is Nextel,Boost,SBC, Sprint, AT&T ETC. I have a choice and that is what you need. You get it ?
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by OldGlory1(m): 6:36pm On Jul 19, 2006
Of course Civilians will have to die, because Hezbollah hides in the suburbs of Southern Beirut, and Israel can only do so much to protect civilians in Lebanon. They drop leaflets first and warn the civilian population to leave the area and then come back and bomb. I say if some civilians including Children have to die, so that Israel can uproot terrorist out of Lebanon, then so be it. They should continue to Bomb until their soldiers are released and in the process send a message to these militants that have made southern Beirut and the Bekka Valley their base. Once Americans are evacuted from Beirut and Lebanon, the full might of Israel will fall on Lebanon and Gaza. I am not ruling out bombing Damascus and maybe even Tehran. Assad has been put on notice. They Buzzed his palace last week and shattered some windows. Israel should do whatever it takes to uproot terror, and "Casualties of War" is part of life.

And by the way i am glad to announce that American Made Precise heat seeking 500LB bombs are been used to pound these locations in Beirut. At the end of this exercise, The Arab world will have learned a lesson in humility. Lebanon would have been a failed state if not for this bombing. The Irony of this conflict, is that Hezbollah will be weakened and Syria and Iran would be put on notice. Bomb on Dudes!!!! grin grin grin grin grin cool

Enough talking let us sit down and watch the bombs fall on these savages! Fox News has the best coverage if you ask me.

Politicians create the environment for Investment to thrive. Tax Incentives, Zoning Laws, Tariffs, Loans,Export free zones,Industrail zones and capital expenditure ETC. No wonder we cannot develop and maintain anything. We elect people that cannot think and our populous suffers. Seun a perfect example is New Orleans post Katrina. The Mayor and companies have come up with a robust rebuilding plan that in part helps the city rebuild, and give businesses an incentive to take the risk.
