For those that don't have compass or an android phone, I got hold of a really nice software that works on all devices/phones that supports java. With this software, u don't need to worry about ur east or west again. Just input ur country name, latitude, longitude, GMT time difference and it automatically calculates ur north, east west, south. It works by showing u a diagram of the sun or moon depending on time of day. Then when u position the diagram to where the sun/moon is at the sky, viola, u get ur coordinates. ![]() Download below. He was nearly killed when a stunt went wrong while filming The Lone Ranger last year. And now footage has emerged of the shocking moment Johnny Depp, who plays Tonto in the film, was thrown off his horse and trampled on the ground. The clip begins with Depp and Armie Hammer, who takes the role of the Lone Ranger, on horses galloping along the sands of the desert where the film was being shot. As the horses pick up speed, Depp's steed is seen bucking, causing the actor to lose his grip and fall to the side. The horse continues galloping as Depp clings to its mane, before eventually falling onto the ground. Cast and crew are heard gaspingand exclaiming 'Woah, woah, woah' as they observe the accident happening, before a voice is heard saying: 'Stay back guys, apart from the medics.' The camera then focuses on Depp, who appears in good spirits despite the near-death experience. Joking with the movie's director afterwards, Deppsays:'Can I tell you what the positive thing is? That mycoccyxdidn't take it.' He then added: 'Chicks dig a broken bone.' While the behind the scenes featurette marks thefirst time we have seen footage of the accident, Depp opened up about what actually happened during an interview on David Letterman earlier this year. He explained: 'There was one moment in particular where it got unpleasant. The horses had been running all day so they weren't interesting in slowing down at all. My horse decided to jump a couple of obstacles in the desert but the horse was unaware that the saddle was fake - to give the effect that i was riding unprotected. 'So when we came down the saddle slipped and I went to the left, and grabbed the mane of the horse. And then the next thing i saw were these very muscular horse legs, this death machine, andone word popped into my head: "Hooves". 'I figured fear would kick in but it didn't, I was very calm.' Depp isn't the only member of he cast to put his life at risk for the best shots, as Armie is also involved in some death-defying stunts. And speaking about the danger involved, directorGore Verbinski explains:'This is really dangerous. And it's not only dangerous, it's also really hard to achieve. 'It was the hardest thing I have ever made but that's good because it feels like we are creating something completely new and exciting.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2343795/Johnny-Depp-nearly-trampled-death-horse-stunt-went-wrong-set-The-Lone-Ranger.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2343795/Johnny-Depp-nearly-trampled-death-horse-stunt-went-wrong-set-The-Lone-Ranger.html

Mr Hodgkiss was pronounced dead at the scene, while his wife was airlifted to hospital, where she passed away the next day. Their heartbroken family has now spoken of the comfort they feel knowing the couple had been able to have a final loving moment together before they passed away. David Hodgkiss, 47, said he believed his parents, from Tipton in the West Midlands, had used their last minutes together to 'say goodbye'. ‘I'm still devastated,’ he said. ‘But the most comforting thing for me is that they have gone together. ‘We were told that they were found holding hands in the car so they must have had time to say goodbye to each other.’ Mr and Mrs Hodgkiss, who have four grandchildren and were married for 52 years, were driving the 20 mile journey from their hometo The River and Rail Country Inn, near Bridgnorth,Shropshire, in the early afternoon of June 7 when they crashed. Their black Ford Mondeo collided with an Audi A4TDI coming from the opposite direction on and A Road. The automatic car was new, bought just six weeks earlier because Mr Hodgkiss was sufferingmobility issues after a hip operation last October. Rescuers rushed to the scene and found the couple in the front seats, tenderly touching hands for a final time following the crash. Mr Hodgkiss, who was known to friends as ‘Big Jack’, appeared to have been killed instantly, while his wife died later at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Their son, from Dudley, West Midlands, said his father was an Army corporal with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers before working as a bus driver. His parents met by chance on a coach more than 50 years ago, after Mr Hodgkiss drove a group including his future wife on a tour from the Midlands to the London Palladium. They began chatting and dated for 10 months before marrying at Hill Top Methodist Church in West Bromwich in 1961. A decade later, the couple moved to Bilston, West Midlands, where they lived in the same house for 43 years. They are survived by their son, his wife Jackie andgranddaughters Rebecca, Jessica, Katie and Samantha. Former colleagues of Mr Hodgkiss paid tribute to their friend, describing him as a 'gentle giant'. Dave Bacon wrote online: ‘A brilliant bloke sadly missed. We had loads of laughs with him at Wolverhampton canteen when Jack was on the 79. RIP old pal.’ Paul Scerri added: ‘Devastated! I'll never forget Big Jack with his witty comments and practical jokes! ‘A gentle giant' May you both be at peace.’ Another friend wrote: ‘I know John from my bus driving days. Very sad news indeed. ‘He was a certainly a top man to work with. A prolific practical joker. RIP Big Jack & Betty.’ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2343143/Inseparable-52-years-died-hand-hand-Grandparents-clinging-fatal-car-wreck-claimed-lives.html
@olenyi, Yes, really. Things are actually looking up on 36E. And, these channels are not the usual DSTV channels which are left temporarily FTA just to tease peeps and then when interests begin to whip up, they get locked just as suddenlly. These ones are here to stay. For Silverbird TV, I think they've finally realised that they could do so much more by breaking out of the shadows of DSTV hence their decision to transmit through an unencumbered transponder. If you noticed, they're on the same tp with CCTV and that itself speaks volumes. As for the CNN, TBN, Aljazeera, etc package, this seems to be an initiative of Agape Television Network broadcasting from Tanzania. Looks like the exclusivity agreement which CNN had with DSTV has finally elasped and hence peeps should look forward to seeing more CNN packages pop up across the sub-region in the near future. This is just my take. VIVA FTA!!!
That is interesting. Have been out of town for more than two weeks now so haven't tested it yet at my end. If this comes to stay, then peeps can stop worrying about BUD for cnn reception. And come to think of it, with the favourite (and over hyped) slogan of ''largest tv network in africa'' by NTA, all the private tv stations in naija (ait, silverbrid, mitv, tvc, channels, etc, etc) can take advantage of the new birds being launched that cover africa to offer us free to air veiwing of their stations on 60 cm thereby shoring up their coverage area (and which translates to more advert placements and revenue) Instead of going about building new tv stations across the nation. Nigeria is a very ripe market with the greatest potential for return on investment in africa in terms of tv viewership. Even in other sectors. But all these people at the head of affairs have falled to grasp this. Then when a foreign company/organisation comes in and starts making billions, everybody will start shouting blue murder. (Dstv, MTN, shoprite, game, etc) i just sidown dey look them in 4D ![]() Regards. |
lovala: @George D I presently stay at number 04 Banire Street Off Itire Road, Surulere.Welcome home. On a lighter note; make kidnappers no come carry u oooo. ![]() Regards. |
U can only get a usb tv turner that can turn ur laptop into a tv thus enabling u connect ur receiver/decoder to ur laptop. Regards. |
@all, Just in case there are still some here who have not noticed, Silverbird TV is now free and live on Eutelsat 36A/36B (36E - DSTV position) Use 11940h 27500sr to track it. It gets better: You can also now watch CNN, TBN, Star TV, Setanta Africa, etc on same bird, free. Use 12275h 11200sr to track. You will need a minimum MPEG4 receiver to watch the later. VIVA FTA!!!
What!!!! Quite frankly. Its been long i lost interest in dat bird. But looks like things are looking up. ![]() Regards. |
