Obiagelli: Will they beam to Africa and Nigeria expecially? I heard they have global rights. What's the implication for dstv

Lets watch and see. Butt I know dat with their clout, pedigree and financial muscle, should they look towards africa as a whole and not only the northern part, they will sure give Dstv a run for their money.

Although it seems dat the only thing they are interested in is to just get the right and then resale to the highest bidder and take the top. So they might still pick the license, resale to Dstv at a high rate, take their gain, and force Dstv to raise their subscription rate once more to offset the high cost of the license. Which as I said is not going to be good for the beautiful game.

Or they could get the rights, boycott Dstv, sale to al Aljazeera. Thus enabling al jazeera to roll out their package across the rest of africa on the NORTH WEST AFRICA beam on nilesat, giving us a better and cheaper alternative to big brother.

The possibilities are endless.

Going through these guys homepage, its like they are picking up the EPL rights in almost all the regions in middle east/north africa/asia. This is going to create a monopoly dat I feel won't be good for the beautiful game.

Aljazeera on 7w has always been available on 90 cm everywhere in nigeria on the NWA beam. Not a biggie.

U should select one of the c band channels. Den press menu, ok, enter ur pin (4 zero's) and select dish settings. Den go to Diseqc settings and make sure it corresponds with the port number on the Diseqc where u connected the wire from ur c band lnb.

Am Presently in Kaduna and i've discovered that Peeps here are even pulling nilesat down with even 90cm (strong/Dstv dish) not to talk of 1m. and its not even like they're using high end lnb's.

This is cheating oooo for us dat are based in the eastern parts. .

Its popping green because what U'are getting is Dstv.

This is what u do. First track multi tv, astra 2f 12523 v 19531. Then input 11881 v 27500 and lift ur dish up a little and to ur right a little while at the back of the dish.

Seyilome: My boss @ Olenyi finally I have seen an installer,he said i can only do two lnb on a dish,so he said he would put multitv and dstv together on a 90 cm while only amos 60 cm,so my questions are 1.is 60cm dish ok for amos5? 2.do i need to put another lnb on amos5 dish to get 16e or amos lnb @17e will automatically pick 16e and 17e all together?.

Ok. Guess we'll make do with watt we have. Let him do the multi tv/Dstv. Then as for the Amos, being dat u don't have a 90 cm, lets manage the 60cm u have. Let him track with 118811 V 27500. Let him optimize the signal and 16'e will automatically fall in. Dia's no magic about it. Then let him blinscan. (to be on the safe side, after tracking with 118811 V 27500, let him check dat 11024 H 03333 - 16'e- is also green. It doesn't have to be upto 70, around 50-60% should do. The one to concentrate on is 11881 to get the highest possible.)

But my dish(motorised) is with only one C band lnb.

The second c band is for linear signals like intelsat 20c http://www.flysat.com/is20.php dat doesn't require the inclusion of the dielectric inside the c band lnb.

4669 is an mpeg 4 receiver and the original is no longer assured in the market. Whereas 4922/A is a HD receiver which is the latest tech now. Btw it retails for under 11000.

Easy200: After downloading a zip file for my receiver how wil i unzip it pls gurus i need to upgrade it (4922)

U don't download to ur receiver. U unzip it first on ur pc/laptop/phone to get a file with a ''.stb'' attribute. Den u can now transfer to a virus free flash drive and plug to ur receiver. Press menu, go to settings, data transfer and select. Firmware upgrade. Scroll to the .stb file and select. It will start the upgrade.

NB: USE GEN FOR THE UPGRADE. NEVER TRY USING PHCN BECAUSE SHOULD THEY TAKE LIGHT DURING THE PROCESS, UR RECEIVER IS GONE.

And what are u upgrading for? Is it for upgrading sake or what?
