Just wondering. Why are people talking about infinity packages and requesting for frequency. Apart from kpakpando and n9a tv, are others free or are there people paying suscription to them. As i haven't seen any channel of their's worth subscribing for. Or is their something am missing here?

satmaniac: In addition to what oga pidzo has said I will lyk to add that,when upgrdading ur reciever there re many technical issues u need to consider.
First and formost the issue of compatibility,the reciever must be compatible with the software.Hence upgrading 4669xii to any of the hd softwares,is like updating your java phone to symbian phone.
Secondly,authenticity_your reciever bieng strong srt4669xii is one thing,but the same reciever bieng original from strong technologies is another thing.if ur software is meant for original strong and ur reciever is fake,then there would be problem when upgradin-u may end up frying ur reciever.because it is madness to flash ur e66(chinese) with e66(nokia) software.hence u have to find out if ur reciever is truly from strong technologies b4 any upgrade.
Lastly,purpose-why do you want to upgrade ur reciever?it may be u want to change the graphics or there is additional satlyt and tp or channels etc.make sure u just have the right software.
Put all these issues above into considerations b4 any upgrade.

@all newbie. If u want to track a bird but u cant find the name on ur receiver, dont worry. Just pick any other satellite there on ur receiver dat ends with ku and input ur frequency, if u are tracking a ku bird and vice versa for c band.
In satellite, the satellite name on the receiver doesnt much matter. What matters is ur frequency and the position u're pointing ur dish.
The name only matter if u're using a diseqc motor (usals) as the receiver uses the name to know where to position the dish. Regards people.

I've answered u about etv hyde park.
For multi tv, just change ur former frequency to 12523 v 19531 and u will get it back. For infinity, its now on amos 5 @ 17'east. If u want to track it, first get multitv on 12523 v 19531. Fine tune to the highhest %. Den input 11024 h 03333 and standing behind the dish, raise itup a little and to ur right. Play around dia andu should hit pay dirt. Fine tune it well and blind scan. First track dstv with 11900 h 27500 @36'east. Finr tune ur signal. Den input 12015 v 29950. Standing at the back of the dish, turn ur dish a little sideways to the right and slowly up, down. Again a little sideways to the right and up, down, with ur eyes fixed to ur tv. If u have tracked mbc before, den it's around mbc position. Keep at it and u should hit green. Make sure u hit not less dan 75, 80, 90%. Tighten and blindscan.

Nb; etv hyde park is a feed which means dey are not on 24/7. So if u dont get it, dont worry, just keep blindscaning occassionaly or better still, on tuesday, 5 mins into a champions laegue match, blindscan and eureka, u got it. regards.

simniboma: I personally bought a receiver for a friend, verified from strong tecnologies and it was authenticated as a genuine strong product. Some where last week he called to inform me he just put it on and realied on his screen OTA upgrading which he did not understand. I asked that he allows it to finish which he did. I observed that the said receiver since it was purchased over a year or two was never been updated. This make me think that the OTA might be occuring on receivers on the MyTV network who's software might be found to be outdated. We could findout more and what version of the upgrade is.

microgiant: The decoders of Satellite TV Providers are normally upgraded Over The Air (OTA). DSTV, HiTV, MyTV, Sky, OSN, etc do so from time to time when new software is available. If your decoder is not the same brand and model the software is meant for it won't upgrade. But if it is the same it will upgrade not minding whether it is original or fake, and sorry if it is fake because the upgrade will damage the decoder. Solution out of this problem is if you know it is fake, turn off OTA upgrade or change the upgrade TP. There is always a particular TP used by the provider to transmit and the decoder is set on to receive OTA.

Dia's a solution to dis. If ur rx got upgraded and its still working, u can always downgrade to a lower version if the version 300p from strong is not giving u wat u want or do a receiver to receiver software transfer. Then afterwards, go to OTA menu and change from default to user and to another satellite other than intelsat 7/10. Regards.

And breaks off signal easliy. Pls what do I do about this? Cos I still have enuf airtel on that simcard.

U could keep using it and pay for mytv. Aside dat, anyother bird u track with it will give u mostly french stations. If only u had two dishes, den one could be set to w3c @16'e. Its ur choice ; mpeg 4 or start paying for mytv. Regards.
