Price will be high

Luiz diaz can dribble more than raphinha and torrrs but both are more clinical than him ,he is 27 and I don’t want him ,Nico Williams is more younger and will cost lesser
Raph currently offers more than Diaz. I don't even like him sef, he's too individualistic and will cost too much.

Nico or keep Raph. We don't need another Liverpool player here unless Allison Becker or Salah.

So messi open mouth, call Madrid the best team in the world. If not because I like him, I would have trolled the nonsense out of him. Even if na true, na him mouth we suppose hear am?? Yeye boy🙄
cheesy cheesy cheesy

He was asked a question in a televised interview and he gave his honest opinion. Messi no be Cho Cho Cho guy, he speaks the truth most times. Madrid just won the biggest club football competition and their 15th overall so it's not out of place. May be he shouldn't have said it but I find nothing wrong. For me, like Messi, football no be do or die affair.

This is the full context of his response to the question asked....

“If we’re talking results, it’s Real Madrid. If we’re talking playing style, I personally like Guardiola’s Manchester City a lot and I believe that every team he coaches will be special. Playing style, Manchester City are the best. Results, it’s Real Madrid,” he explained.

To be clear, I'm not hating on Stegen but if you want to see different opinions about our current #1, go to Reddit, BB or any Barca forum on twitter, open any post that concerns him then come back.

Check the comment section on the page below. It's not only me. The fact is that our GK has regressed so bad it's not hidden anymore!

ter stegen is a fool in Europe ,nobody fit even follow you argue that one

With ter stegen in place of lunin Madrid won’t smell that ucl finals
Against PSG, look at his position when Vintinha made it 2:1. Now watch closely his positioning in the 55min when Barcalo hit the post. If Barcola had scored to make it 3:1, that game would've been another thrashing, say 4:1, 5:1 or may be 6:2. no be today I don see the pattern. No be today!!!

Now watch his position when Dembele hit the post in the 75 mins...that guy panicks too much, it's crazy. His mentality is incredibly weak, it's baffling at times. In Laliga he's world class. In Europe, dog sh!!t.

Our last game this season, he conceded a funny goal and was trending on twitter. Chai 😂😂😂

The game against Liverpool where we lost 4:0 at Anfield is where Ter Standing memes started. He just doesn't react quick enough.

He remains the common denominator in all our UCL humiliations. No be made up stuff oo, nah based on facts.

UCL go soon show and we'll be back again with a midfielder in goal. Awon passing GK!

The problem is, he doesn't stand up when the team is struggling. I can't remember a match our goalkeeper won for the team. Once the team is struggling, he is the epitome of it all.
Real Vardrid may have won UCL on saturday but they didn't have everything there way and there goalkeeper who have been away for all season, came in and kept them in the game. He was part of the solution.

There was no way Ter Stegen would have kept a clean sheet with all the barage of chances the Borussia Dortmund were creating.

I think this is why the fans here are critising Ter Stegen for being average and never able to raise his level when the team needs it the most. And this is why an increasingly error prone 38 year old Manuel Neuer continues to lead the line for Alemania.
Exactly this....I watched the game and I was like, can my keeper stand up like this?

On penalties; may be he's save them here but make I no lie, I can't really recall Stegen saving a penalty at FC Barcelona.

Can Stegen do this and win the world cup for Messi, the truth is that I doubt completely.

Lol. I follow Barca groups/pages/blogs on virtually all social media platforms, He gets hate and vilification only on Nairaland Barcelona FC thread.. the way folks here vilify him you'd think he's the problem of the team or he cost us this season, which isn't so.
grin grin grin grin

Tell me the groups, pages and blogs that you follow Barca lol....

I follow about 4 excluding BB and Reddit and man, nairaland dey learn work...

E be like say nah only me and byelaybyke dey drag Stegen pass for here...

On those forums, they want him striped off the captaincy and sold. Stergen is a comfam meme material on twitter Barca pages.

Although I don't want him sold because of finance and yes he was good in Laliga but in UCL, he's not been good.

He remains part of the problem at FCB!

Ter stegen wasn’t a great shot stopper during his prime ? That one na lie o

For the whole epl self na only Allison and de gea be better shot stopper than him till recently
May be I was too harsh on him but man, he's been so bad in Europe.(UCL/Europa)

Like it's always as if he's afraid of the biggest occasion.

In Laliga he's world class and has kept multiple clean-sheets but how many clean sheet does Stergen have in Europe?

UCL is where you meet the best teams and best players...in that competition, let's not kid ourselves, he's been pure sh!!!t!

The takes you see here is hilarious lol. Ter Stergen that was getting clean sheets upandan with amazing saves wasn't a great shot stopper?
grin grin grin grin grin

Hopelandlord, I'm happy that you didn't come today to troll Barca using Mabape and Madrid but today you stand a goal keeper that has been part of all the UCL humiliations at FC Barcelona hahaha 🤣🤣🤣

Ter Stergen although good in Laliga remains one of the weakest in Europe. When it matters the most, he gives up. Go and watch Barca Vs Bayern 8:2, juven Vs Barca 3:0, PSG Vs Barca, 2020, PSG Vs Barca 2024, Barca Vs Liverpool, in fact go and watch highlights of all UCL since 2014/2015 then come back.

In Laliga he's world-class. In Europe, UCL including Europa where he conceded 4 against Frankfurt he's been sh!!!t.

All these nah facts and not made up stuffs.

May be I was wrong by saying he wasn't a great shot stopper in his prime but when it matters against quality opponents he's been found wanting. He's incredibly fragile and always afriad in high pressure games in Europe and some games Vs Madrid in Laliga/copa

I can screen shot 20 different monikers on BB and Reddit talking about how weak he's been in Europe.

40 year old Neur is still #1. If Emi was German with all the injuries Neur has suffered from, no way he'll still be #1. Stegen gads step up.

#facts!

Ter stegen was classy before ,but I can’t count on him anything aside Laliga games

Even el Classico self the idiot Dey dash Madrid goals
Even in his prime, Stergen wasn't that really great as a shot stopper but his passing was class. Now he's pure dog sh!!!t at both.

Dejong will use I love the club to run down his multi billion contract then join PSG or United on a free for huge salary...A mercinery with an average football ability.

Merino is a duel winning machine and I don't know why I don't just like Zubi. He reminds me of Ilaraemendi, so much hype but very little to show.

I hope we can get Merino 🙏🙏🙏

True. But there's no really any decent CDMs available in the market aside zubi who's not willing to leave la Real.. Even the kimmich we've been linked to isn't exactly a single pivot. Merino's is a better tackler and workhorse than he is, would be cheaper and is a year younger. So if we pull through with the deal, it would be a good one.

Flick uses a double pivot formation so merino will be perfect as the more defensive player of the pair.

And another reason why I think it's a great deal is because merino is 28 this year so it's kind of a quality stop gap deal to give our upcoming lamasia DM prospects time to develop (I believe one of prim, bernal or casado can own the DM position in the future )
Yeah, definitely I just wish we can pull this off.

Just like Goretka 🤝 Thiago midfield. None are pure DMs but both did their job in order to ensure the 6th for Bayern.

Laporta oya ooo

Mikel Merino strongly linked to Barca. Omo if we can pull it off, our midfield don set. I've always felt merino is underrated and zubimendi overrated. He'll be perfect as the defensive midfielder in the double pivot that flick wants to play.
Merino is better than Zubi but he's not a pure DM but can do a job as a DLP...I actually don't rate Zubi at all. I even wanted Neves ahead of him sef. I wish we can get Merino because he's taller, better passer, stronger and I'll love to have a left footed player in that midfield for some aesthetics 😂😂😂

you're comparing supreme talents like pedri fermin and Balde to J. Araujo? How many las palmas games did you watch this season? Have you even watched him play?

Julian araujo just isnt good enough.
Lol.
May be Fermin is a supreme talent but we'll never know. Hindsight is 20/20 and Fermin should be thankful to Xavi. Nothing against Fermin but in my opinion, Pablo Torre looks more talented than him that's why talent is never enough.

I'm sure there are about 3k Fermins in the 3rd division who just needed some believe and confidence.

In the third division where he played, he was not even the best player in that division.

That's why I said some players are better when they move up the ladder.

D7.
His passing is shit and he contributes literally nothing in attack.
Pace and Defending is not enough for a Barca level right back
grin grin grin grin

D7 Jesu!!!......well, we'll see.

Personally, I'll say C5.

When Pedri joined people said he should be sent on loan and that Puig should start. Koeman said no, today Pedri is a star. Puig showed more promise then.

Although Balde was more promising, he was not even first choice LB for the B team, he was supposed to join Ajax on loan, today he's one of our best players. Alex Valle was first choice then if you follow the B-Team.

Fermin was playing in the 3rd division nobody knew him. Nobody expected him to be this good yet he's one of our best today.

Most players adapt to their level as they move up the ladder. For Julian, we'll have to wait and see. I won't mind him as a backup for Kounde while Hector although right footed could back up Balde. Cancelo must go 🙏 😂

Time will tell!

Julian Araujo is the fastest right-back in La Liga this season. He was very good for Las Palmas on loan.

It is yet to happen so we'll never know. When it does, then we'll have a conversation. Like I always tell you, do not worry too much about Barca. We won Laliga and Super cup 12 months ago.

Whatever will happen will happen and tomorrow will always worry about it self. However, if it does happen, it won't be worse than what Pep is doing in the EPL. Prime Pep couldn't do what he's currently doing in England when he was the coach at Barca.

On BB and Reddit, guys kept on talking about Christensen as a DM. It took a series of really poor results for Xavi the coach of Barcelona to consider him in that position.

Incredibly, when Christensen was eventually introduced to the system as a "DM" results improved instantly. We became solid and really should have been in the UCL semis or even in the final with better luck.

Genuine question....

What did arm chair analyst on Reddit/BB see that a coach at Barca couldn't see?

A quick Google search would have saved you from making a wrong comment. Don't be too quick to reply.

Hakan Calhanoglu plays a DM for inter milan, ably supported by the hardworking Barella and others
grin grin grin grin lol

Xavi could have played Felix as a DM and made other players around Felix hard working.

Hakan is a DM now. He was an AM before Brozovic departed. You can go and watch his games at Milan and his previous teams.

In fact, till today, with the national team, Hakan is not allowed in the DM position. They have a DM, I've forgotten his name.

With the national team, Hakan is a CM/AM!

Create a system(hard workers) like Inzaghi did and let someone do a job.

Someone must always have to do that 'DM' job!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by oliverano:
jpmoriarti:
I respectfully disagree. You need to spend yearly to remain competitive at the highest level. Can you mention a club without a competent DM playing for them? Barcelona should have signed a top DM to replace Busquets. Oriol Romeu was ill-thought and a huge mistake.

Also remember that no quality players goes away on a loan. It is because they’re surplus to requirements for their parent team. Reason they leave. Free transfers are also debatable.

Xavi was supported in the first full season and he won two trophies. Then this season, he was hang out to dry. Remember he still finished 2nd in the league. You need to support your coach each season, so the squad remains competitive
I have no problem with your disagreement because we cannot always share the same opinion/views but your arguments are sometimes incredibly linear.

Hakan Calhhanoklu is an "AM" by trade but Inzaghi saw that he could do a job as a DM after the departure of Brozovic. Today, Hakan is now a certified DM and Inter played their best football with him winning the title along the way. You don't have to be built like tank to play a DM. It's about positioning well to break up play. Like I always tell you, someone will always have to do a job in that role.

Romeo was the DM for Girona, he departed and Aleix Garcia who used to play next to him became the DM and did a good job. The coach must learn to set his team up to play and mask the position of the DM.

Ugarte was brought in for a lot of money for the DM position but Vintinha a CM is now playing there because he(Ugarte) didn't show enough on the ball to play there.

Today's DM is more about positional discipline, good on the ball, press resistant, passing etc. Someone at Barca can do that job but the coach just couldn't set it up that way.

What Xavi needed to do was build a team to mask the position of the DM. Someone had to do that job either as a specialist or what have you.

I've given you about three(3) teams playing well without a DM. You can add Athletico Madrid because Koke who's a CM by trade is now playing the holding role(DM) for them. Someone must always do a job man.

Baba, being on loan does not necessarily diminish your quality lol. In 2003, we were rock bottom and yes fighting relegation haha but in January, we brought in Edgar Davids. He was one of the, if not the most important player when we somehow finished second that year. Are you telling me Davids wasn't quality?. One of the main reasons why he left Juve was issues with the board among other things.

Cancelo made serie A team of the year 2 times, premier league team of the year twice as well. He also made FIFA pro 11 once. Coupled with some league titles in Italy and England. You can't tell me he isn't quality. I'll understand if you say that he didn't fit but he's sure a quality player.

Felix is also quality but yeah he doesn't fit here.

I have nothing against Xavi and I think he was supported considering our financial mess. Good thing is gone now and I wish him well for the future. Hope he can be more adaptable, flexible, talk less and be a better coach all round in future.

Xavi was vital but it was time to go!!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by oliverano: 8:40am On May 30, 2024
Koeman was not supported may be because he had Messi, Griezman, Dembele, Coutinho and others but that can't be said for Xavi....

Koeman wasn't supported but Xavi was 100% supported.

The Idea that Xavi was not supported is something I'll never understand.

Xavi was here for 2.5 years. In that period, Barca spent over €250m on transfers excluding quality free agents/loanees like Kessie, Cancello, Felix, Christensen, Gundogan and of course Inigo Martinez.

Laporta handled his departure and that of Messi in the worst possible way but he's done well to create a competitive squad for him. Xavi needed to leave no question about that and yes, he was very well supported.

Anyways....It's Flick time and only time will tell!
