Vischy: Alright,Xavi might have his lapses but he has tried a lot with the much he is given in transfers and he has done credible work in bringing in yamal, curbasi, fort, lopez etc into first team.
And if I'm serious there's no way Barca could have won the league last season and I'm not sure about the coming season Alright, we appreciate him for winning us the title but he didn't improve Barca after winning the league that's why we wanted a change. Same way you're happy Poch is gone... |

abduleez1: Abeg all this your talk about philosophy and this and that about Xavi mistreatment. Everyone in gbks thread knows how you love the status quo and afraid of bringing a new coach even when it's glaring things ain't working out no more. You were solidly behind Koeman despite it being obvious we were drowning.... Not until it was too obvious for a deaf and blind man to know we're lost till you conceded his ineptitude. So pls sit this one out.
Which useless philosophy is Barca even playing now sef. Let's stop deluding ourselves with our yeye philosophy talk. Barca haven't played anything relating to our philosophy in 7yrs or so. Xavi don't even have a tactics, we knew what Valverde was playing, extra defensive and conservative football. Xavi, I can bet no one knows what his style of play is. This philosophy talk only works for small teams. Football ain't played the same way with our golden team. They'd have way less dominance with the way football is played now.
Tiki taka philosophy doesn't work in today's football unless maybe you're playing Pep's present variation. I remember how we were deluding ourselves back then under Koeman saying we don't play tiki taka, thinking we'd have such football from Xavi who's a student and partaker of that era... Enter Xavi's coaching career at Barca, we didn't play any damn fvvking semblance with tiki taka at any point in time.
It's this same talk about tiki taka philosophy and sticking with the past that's why we're where we are today. Cos we failed to adapt to the times. Always reminiscing about the good ol' days. 7 years? I'll say 14 years! Our philosophy died when Tito Villanova died. He's the last who truly tried it and that was in 2012/13 about 14 years ago. Tito did well with it and won us league but in the UCL, Bayern thrashed us 7:0 over 2legs. Tata Martino was hired, he tried to use the philosophy but we failed again and won nothing in the regular season except the Spanish super cup. In the UCL, we were dumped out too. Martino was sacked at the end of the season. In 2014/15, Enrique came and the signings he made, it was clear he didn't wanna rely too much on possession football. He sold Fabregas; a possession maestro and brought in Rakitic; a midfield work horse known for high energy and powerful ball striking ability. He also brought in Luis Suarez and then Jeremy Mathieu. At the time, Jeremy Mathieu was the fastest defender in Laliga. Aging Xavi was also dropped to the bench and then the famous MSN was created. As a result, although we still kept possession, we became very direct and the transition from defense to attack was the best I've seen at Barca. I actually lost count on the number of counter attacking goals we scored. After 3 years with Enrique where he looked out of ideas in the 3rd season, he left and was replaced by Velverda. Although we won Laliga back to back, it was during the Velverda era that we became a joke on and off the pitch. Velverda played the possession game but it was the slowest I've seen in my entire life but we did well in Laliga though. Then we went full nuclear with bums like Satien(8:2) and then Koeman (Europa) Xavi tried to take us back and I'll say that he did well but he didn't show enough and should've been allowed to leave or stay true to his words and leave jejely. I blame him for staying after saying he'll be leaving. Xavi too tried to play the possession game but we can see where we are with it. Our philosophy is like post office. It's been replaced by the electronic media and currently irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. I don't wanna say it's useless but I'll admit that it's no more important. We have to move on, period! |

Colson: oga even if he leaves and we don't get a competent manager (most important) , a good DM and LW, we go still collect. I reiterate that MATS is not main the problem of this team. No problem. Remember that I've always maintained that our problem remains.... Coach>GK>DM>LW>CF but for now, let's scratch that and go for this... Coach>>DM>LW>CF...Time will tell! |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by oliverano: 12:34am On May 23, 2024 |
Colson: Troll him as you want but you're missing the elephant in the room if you think MATS is the main problem of this barcelona. I'm not trolling him but he doesn't give me confidence anymore, not close. It'll surprise you when we finally get a standard GK who's willing to get dirty and stop shots. United released a top shot stopper and went for a gra gra GK who wasn't even good at anything except passing now see their life outside. Even at La masia, Onana was always hot head and gra gra GK. I was shocked when United paid that much for him. I know I'm digressing but if we're letting go of Stergen we should be going for GK who's 70% shot stopping and 30% passing. Not going for another GK who prefers passing to stopping shots. Stergen is the common denominator in all our biggest defeats in league, cups, friendlies, UCL etc. He was the one in goal when Bayern scored 8. In that game, he gave up completely at the 4th goal. When he leaves we'll do well again especially in the UCL provided we sign a standard GK not Onana-Degea kind of mistake! Edit: Who's the elephant in the room, Chabi?

jpmoriarti: Following Bayer Leverkusen’s loss to Atalanta in the Europa League Final, Barcelona will be in Pot 1 of next season’s Champions League ‘League Stage’ Draw
Waoooh. Nice! The only nice thing about being in pot 1 is the integrity of being there with other European power house like Madrid, Bayern and co. Aside that it means nothing and it would've been better for us if we were in pot2 sef... The new format is very different from the old one. In the new format, we'll be playing 2 teams from each pot. Which simply mean that It doesn't matter which pot we're in. So basically we could play City and Bayern who themselves are in pot 1... We stand to gain nothing in terms of who we face other than the ego of being with the big boys in same pot. A high intensity match up with Bayern or City is what I don't want at this point in time. I wish we remained in pot 2 because of this guy...

BabbanBura: Out ya nipple in his mouth provided e still perky woo.
Wear only wrapper on ya chest, nothing under it, go apologise to the man and drop am accidently while doing it
Wear towel on ya chest like u wan bath, nothing under, go bend down in touch ya toe style in his direct view pretending to be picking something or doing something
I can go on and on and on, but all na rubbish.
Go and apologise genuinely, without efforts to shift blame. It is this simple and never try to bribe him in the apology process. Let the bribe be a by-product of the apology. You can actually prepare for the by-product but never bring it in untill he has forgiven you. I wouldn't say this is lame, but I think this could come in handy to weak men or those seduced only by sex. When I'm pissed, sex is always the last thing on my mind. In fact, I can explode if a woman play the drama you have up there. But at the end of the day, to each their own! Edit...Hahaha, I had to go through it again....seems you were being sarcastic!

Baddestguyp: I'm watching videos of Flick...
Flick inherited a Bayern team that were 4th on the table and just lost 5-1...
Flick changed everything and won a sextuple
Apparently Flick was the one who made young Alphonso Davies his first choice Left Back...and that season remember how good Davies became...that he tore apart Barca and Chelsea...
Flick was the one who also converted Kimmich from a RB to a DM...
Flick brought back Muller into their starting lineup and Muller had a Bundesliga record of 21 assists that season...
He made Bayern play a very risky high press...and also made them very deadly on the counter
See ESPN's tweet on Bayern back then... See the change man...
Not our Barca with lazy training Mehn, players like Araujo and Raphinha will benefit so much then there's sister Pedri with his broom stick legs.. Flick biko for the fitness and high intensity! |

Ijustwantto: None of this big clubs seems to be interested in hansi flick. Strange! Who are these big teams? I see no big team in the picture though unless you're talking about Chelsea and us. Big teams in world football England City.....Pep Arsenal....Arteta Liverpool....Sloth Chelsea......Vibes United....not linked to him. Germany Bayern....Flick had issues with the Bayern board before he left for the national team job. Returning to Bayern is not on the cards right away. Dortmund......Edin Leverkusen......Alonso Leipzig.......Rose Spain Madrid.....Carlo Barca.....Chabi/job seems open Tico........ Simeone Italy Inter....Inzaghi Juventus....Motta heavily linked Milan......he's not linked there Napoli.........not linked Roma......... De Rossi. France PSG..... Luis Enrique. Basically, the only big teams linked here for now remains Barca and of course Chelsea so he's factually not rejected. Most Chelsea fans will take Flick, same with Barca. I understand that he failed with Germany but he'll get your team running like robots in no time. I hope we can get him though! |

Bombblacks: Rashford is already tried and trusted in Southgate system. International cup competition is not were your start blending in new players that might not understand the system on time. Grealish and Rashford will definitely go. Infact most of the usuals will keep their place with little additions coming in. South Gate no dey pay attention to analyst at all. He'll fail yet again. |

Bombblacks: Henderson will definitely make the squad. Sterling and Philips has fallen out of favor with Southgate for various reasons. Its not hard to understand why national managers will go with players already used to their system. For now, Henderson and black Ronaldo misses out as predicted....
