onuman:Chief, your point is very valid. You know who to blame..... My point though was to be clear with the OP that the British Empire colonized USA! |
sexiestharam:Spain will knock out Germany in round 1 and people will still not see them as contenders because.... Barca must be hated! ![]() |
FBS if a player wins an award at the end of the tournament like golden boot, young player, golden ball, what will be the assigned point? Also, if a player makes the team of the tournament, will any point be assigned? Finally, I think the points assigned for the MOTM is quite small. I know it's polling booth but that's the only way those who chose DMs and players who play a bit deeper can gain more points. You know the game is for attackers so there's that. For the last paragraph, I'm not suggesting you make any changes though just saying! |
wildkat:k |
wildkat:Must you guys always argue? Argue to learn and argue intelligently. May be not "England" per say but Great Britain in general which comprises of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. But England remains the most dominant so there's that. USA was colonized by the British Empire a.k.a United Kingdom (UK). Though other Empires like that of France, Spain and even Netherlands also had an established colonies there. However, history credits the colonization of the USA to the British. |
Broveens42:Lol You say Americans are "clueless" infront of goal so how many goals have the "cluefull" England scored? Of course they've missed some half chances but if you say they're clueless infront of goal then England should get same criticism. With all that said, England are still favourite and I expected them to win even though I'm #TeamUSA! |
tonididdy:As a typical African man, I want Senegal to win and qualify but I just don't see it. Ecuador will only need a draw to qualify while Senegal will need to win. Meaning Senegal will try to play a bit open because they need to score. I see Ecuador beating them 2 or 3 nil. |
Samueltemi337:Costa Rica play their football in CONCACAF because they belong to Central America. Messi plays in South America CONMEBOL. Though Costa Rica have been invited to play in this competition, they very rarely meet with Argentina unlike these stubborn Ecuador, Columbia, Paraquay etc.... |
shegzbillionz:Lol I know. What I'm trying to say is that if he was 19 or 21, his price tag will more than double and a big team will sign him. |
If Enner Valencia was 19 or 21 years old....you know the rest ![]() |
popizaino:Imagine calling the Brazil national team coach daft because he didn't start your favourite player or because you feel player X should start instead of Y. I think Football is the only topic where so many fans are just so confidently misinformed. They think they know but in reality, they have almost zero practical knowledge about tactics. Give them a 5 aside team to coach and nothing will come out. I see folks offline & online; nairaland, FB, Twitter etc talking about tactics like cutting passing lanes, forming traingles, creating numerical advantage, positioning, high line etc. They question everything the coach does from formation to personnel simply because they think they know it all. For instance, when Pedri arrived, most Barca fans wanted him for the B team or loan but they preferred Puig to start playing for the first team immediately. Koeman saw things differently. Same thing happened with Gavi. Today he's justified. Koeman was a bad coach though. The same also happened when Ronaldo left United for Madrid and was replaced by Antonio Valencia. Even though they still had Nani, the fans rightly complained and demanded a top player as Ronaldo's replacement. With two PL titles, UCL final and many other trophies including being named player of the season at United, Fergie was indeed justified. There are also many instances not mentioned here.... Henry was busy talking down on Wenger until he was given an opportunity at Monaco. He was sacked because relegation was looming. Thiago Motta was running his mouth about one useless 2-7-2 formation with the GK playing almost as a DM. We all know how he ended at Genoa. Then there's Gary Neville and many others. Motta is now playing with "much caution" now at Bologna and unsurprisingly is doing better. It's always funny because for most of these people, their only football(coaching) experience is FM(SEGA), FIFA and some other football simulation games with zero practical knowledge. Most never played/coach at semi professional level. It's funny but I think it's all part of the beautiful game. I'm not saying that coaches should not be criticized, all I'm saying is; give credit where credit is due. This was my response to a guy who at halftime called Tite daft because Richalison is not a regular starter at Totenham but starting games for Brazil. |
Mustiboy:You have time Chief. That guy is not that bright to understand what you have here. To him and his likes, football is played only in Europe. You know why? Ronaldo is from Europe and he plays there. I tell you, the tone won't the be same if he was from Chile, Columbia or Brazil. Children everywhere.....GenZ!!! |
Sportsweb:The guy say nah "Omo" Like he really believed Serbia will defeat Brazil? Lmao!!! |
Serbia is minnow but they defeated Portugal in Lisbon, forcing them to a world cup playoffs. Lmao! |
sprints1:That guy is a child. If Ronaldo was from South America/Brazil he would have said that there's a reason why Brazil has won it five times but you know Portugal is playing in Europe so Ronaldoz dcck must be sccked. Europe alone 13 teams South America/North America combined 8 teams. In elementary statistics, this is easy to call yet no country has won more WC than Brazil but agenda must agend! |
ModCaller:You're smart! |
Lifeless2018:You're making my point lol! Henry talk pass this one, e nearly relegate Monaco. I'm not ready for the conversation because you can't be convinced....enjoy your day Chief! |
![]() Imagine calling the Brazil national team coach daft because he didn't start your favourite player or because you feel player X should start instead of Y. Children full this forum walahi I think Football is the only topic where so many fans are just so confidently misinformed. They think they know but in reality, they have almost zero practical knowledge about tactics. Give them a 5 aside team to coach and nothing will come out. I see folks offline & online; nairaland, FB Twitter etc talking about tactics like cutting passing lanes, forming traingles, creating numerical advantage, positioning, high line etc. They question everything the coach does from formation to personnel simply because they think they know. I'm a barca fan so I'll use this scenario. For instance, when Pedri arrived, most Barca fans wanted him for the B team or loan but they preferred Puig to start playing for the first team. Koeman saw things differently. Today he's justified. It's always funny because for these people, their only football(coaching) experience is FM(SEGA), FIFA and some other football simulation games with zero practical knowledge of the real deal. Most never played/coach at semi professional level. In fact, some are unable to defeat FIFA(Com) without cheating(quitting) that's why FIFA made sure that once you quit(forfeit) a match, you lose 3:0 forcing them to virtually think deeper. It's crazy but I think it's all part of the fun/beautiful game. |
ecolime:Portugal should beat Ghana but the bolded is just nonsense. Didn't they play a two leg game with Nigeria and eventually knocked them out? Was the game a given? How did they "take Naija spot" Care to elaborate? |
tarantino1:Who are these North American teams? Care to list them? |
Unlimited22:You may have a point but that's not how football works. Jorginho is a penalty specialist yet he missed a crucial penalty for Italy. That miss is the reason why Italy are not in the 2022 mundial. RVP, R9, Robben, CR7, Lewy, Messi, Overmars, Bruno etc. All these top players have missed crucial penalties. Messi missed a crucial kick in copa America, missed when Barca played Chelsea in 2012(crucial kick) and many more. Thing is if either Hoilett or David stepped up and missed, you'll advocate for another. All I'm saying is that anyone can miss or score a penalty kick. Doesn't really matter who stepped up to take it. |
Seunfretty:Spain thrashed Germany 6:0 in nations league Abi Germany no be strong team or nations league is not competitive anymore simply because Spain flogged them in the said competition? They also beat Portugal recently in their home. They're quite solid. If you need reminding, they were a penalty shootout from euros final after dominating Italy in the semis. On their game against Germany, h2h no favour Germany at all. Na husband and wife things for Spain. But football no be mathematics so here's that and the game will be very tough. Spain can play football, know this and have peace of mind! |
Smashspesh:You dey watch ball abeg! |
OhBritannia:True but make Xavi complete the season first. |
Kilishihunter:People wey no Sabi ball dey talk about Spain like say them be children for ball. Them no get striker, em no get striker yet em don score 6. CB na midfielder yet nah clean sheet. I repeat even the so called Brazil will feel the heat against Luis Enrique's Spain. Germany Vs Spain is what I'm waiting for. The supposed golden boy winner will play against the winner; the one who they said did not deserve the award. Na here we dey. Lol 7:0 Enrique is a beast. Perfect replacement for Pep at City or a return to Barca. |
Reference:Didn't they recently thrash Germany 6:0 in nations league? Germany oti lo le |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:Una no dey taya? Give credit where it's due and move on. There are 5 Barca players on the pitch. The midfield 3 is that of Barca. The front 3, 1 is of FCB and he's on target. Imagine Spain losing to Japan today. The talk will be how washed they've been. But it's Germany so it's just "one of those world cup shocks". Even Germany will feel the heat soon. E no far. Just like in 2008, 2010 and the recent nations league 6:0 mauling. |
Kilishihunter:I dey tell you. Especially that Nico who's very rapid! Musi will also come up against Pedri and Gavi. Interesting times for dead barka! |
![]() Seems there won't be Muller making jokes on social media today. Spain should beat Costa Rica and then dump Germany out as they've done in previous tournaments. 2008 Euro final, 2010 world cup semi final and most recently 6:0 mauling at the Nations league. |
People already crying because Messi scored a penalty. What will now happen if he wins it? You guys should just enjoy the game and leave Messi alone ![]() |
FBS:Oliverano_____Gakpo/Saka/Gavi |
Eastlandx:I didn't want to talk down on his comment but that post is stewpeed post! |
